Gaby was never more glad of anything than to shake the South American dust from her heels and head back to civilization. Something had happened when she’d spent the night in the fertility god’s chamber—either she’d lost her mind or she’d had an encounter of the unnerving kind with a supernatural being. Before she could breathe a sigh of relief, however, she discovered he’d followed her home. How did one ‘break up’ with a man/supernatural being completely accustomed to always having his own way?
So I read this in the Great Internet Outage of 2014 (SIX DAYS GUYS SIX DAMN DAYS). I cannot rate it stars because I am...conflicted. But I will point out:
1) There are no aliens 2) There are no concubines 3) 'Wetback' is NOT an endearment
Make of that what you will.
Normally I thoroughly enjoy Kaitlyn O'Connor's cray cray. But...yeah. Isn't that a nice cover though? Yeah.
I'm reading this under the title Alien Concubine by Kaitlyn O'Connor. Tricky, tricky Ms. O'Connor.
This was a struggle to read and I usually don't find that with this author's books. The romance never sparked for me and what the Anhk did to make the heroine love him was just strange and unbelievable even for fiction. Not my favorite.
Also published under the title "Breeding Ground" by Madelaine Montague.

Oh, my,my. This was my first book by this author and even though it started slow, boy did things heat up later on. That fertility God was really something! I loved the slow burn and the originallity of the story and the I absolutely loved the hot, steamy sex between our protagonists. The descriptions were excellent and I would have loved to see the story longer. It was an utterly pleasurable read!
Having a background in forensic anthropology I really enjoyed the beginning of the book i.e., it started strong but the ending just ran out of steam and seemed to end abruptly. If it would have ended strong like it began, I would have easily given this book a 4 or 5 star rating.
I found this book boring and very difficult to finish. I was ecstatic at first but then oh my God. Boring. Even though it was a blend of scifi paranormal. And it revolved around a mystery. Just don't bother.
Shallow, no real emotional ties with the characters. no real dialogue either - it was all talking to herself in her own head for the most part. boring.
