Yes. After reading the other books in Jaycee Clark's 'Deadly' series, I finally got "Deadly Obsession". It's another spine-tingler that will have you shuddering and cringing from the twisted, psychotic villain and his obsession with the heroine.
Christian has made her home with the Kinncaid's for the last nine years. She still can't quite remember how she came to their home, but will be forever thankful that they offered her terrified younger self a safe haven and a family so much better than the one she fled. And now, as an adult, she and Brayden Kinncaid are finally facing the feelings that have grown between them. But just when Christian thinks her life is her own...she acquires a stalker. And it's not just any stalker, it's the one she fled from all those years ago. His message to 'his Angel'? 'You'll always be mine.'
I still get shivers writing that last sentence. I'll say again that Clark can write some of the scariest psychos you'll ever read about. Now I have to find out why the youngest Kinncaid brother's story hasn't been published yet. Cause it's one I want to read.

Another great addition to the "Kinncaid Bros." series. This time around Brayden Kinncaid and Christian Bills (the "adopted" daughter living with the Kinncaids). A thriller and excellent romance. An added plus was several appearances by Ian, the mysterious brother who is a master of disguise.

I knew it was only a matter of time until this came to bite me in the ass…. As they said, if something looks too good to be true, it probably is.
So far, I’ve loved the first two books of this series.
As for this one…..? I was so bloody mad half the time, I couldn’t see straight.
Brayden and Christian could’ve really had a nice little story going here. Yes, I know this was a romantic suspense, so there had to be some drama, hence the title of the book “Deadly Obsession”.
Ok, fine. I’d roll with it. The action pretty much started almost immediately, which is when I grew weary considering how long the book was.
All the drama that went on gave me a headache. I never wanted to deck a heroine of a story so badly as I did Christian (aka Josephine). I mean, if you know someone is stalking you…you know WHO it is…you know this person is watching your every move…sending you pictures of your day to day doings…calling you incessantly…knows where you live…what car you drive…the people involved in your life…someone who tortured you so badly in life that you had to run away and change your name…DON’T YOU THINK YOU TELL SOMEONE??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THEN when this person attacks you in your home, drugs you, ties you up, ALMOST rapes you…AND YOU STILL WON’T GIVE UP ANY INFORMATION…tell me…how am I supposed to care? How am I supposed to control the urge to hit you upside the head with my e-reader? How am I supposed to empathize or care about your story when you are too busy trying to play “hero” to a family that YOU KNOW will defend anyone or anything that is THEIRS????????
GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was BEYOND frustrated, to the point that I just started to skip through whenever she started her crying and whining and putting up that damn steel wall she so comfortably embraced. And then when she would get mad at Brayden for being upset at her???!!! Oh man, god bless that man and his patience.
I honestly felt like this time around, the feelings & connection lacked. Christian was a glutton for punishment who lacked common sense and had a hero complex that ultimately ended up causing more harm than not.
And when Brayden, the man he was, took her away to try and allow her to get herself together, took him away from his daughter, the woman STILL had the balls to selfishly with-hold information from him.
This family honestly needs to invest stock into Sibley Hospital since they spend a majority of their time there….
While my being upset has to do with her, I will still continue on to Ian’s story because I honestly am extremely intrigued as to what the heck this man does and if he will ever make it back to be with the rest of the Kinncaid’s.

The third book in the Deadly series by Jaycee Clark. Christian Bills has lived with the Kinnaid family for years and is practically family. She works with Brayden and is the nanny to his daughter. But a one night stand has her reevaluating her position. Then her past catches up with her and she must decide whether to involve her "family" or take off alone.
An excellent addition to this series. Almost gave a lower rating because of the borderline TSTL heroine but decided not to hold it against her.

Both the hero and heroine are complex characters, whose individual fears nearly destroy them. Brayden’s unable to see a future with Christian, because he hasn’t dealt with his own personal demons. He’s strong, arrogant, powerful, stubbornly blind, and throughout the first third of the story richly deserves a strong slap against the head for his ignorance. Christian has struggled with a dark, ugly past, which she has seemingly overcome, but is deeply hurt by Brayden’s reaction to the night they spent together. What I had a difficult time believing was that such a strong, intelligent woman wouldn’t consider confiding in her family—especially one as wealthy and powerful as the Kinncaids—or in her neighbor, a police detective who she knew from his previous involvement with . Regardless, another highly recommended read, Deadly Obsession is a chilling, highly suspenseful story and emotional read of fear, the power of love, healing, and the strength of family ties with a satisfying HEA. This is the second twin's story and Christian who has been a part of their family for the past nine years. She showed up on their doorstep as a teenager and never left, becoming the hero's daughter's mom for all intent and purposes and when the book starts they have just given into their passion and admitted their love for each other but the hero panics and blames it on the alcohol. Now, the problems I had in the book was that we aren't given much information on the hero's daughter's dead mother and the heroine's inability to voice the name of the guy who made her life a hell.
The heroine to make the hero see what he is missing moves out and then the man who destroyed her and forced her to run finds her again and she is that scared, brutalized teenager all over again. What the heroine went through was horrific and her mom was a monster, what I didn't like was why the heroine holds on to the name of the man who did this to her. Yes, the people who had tried to help her before had suffered and I got her rationale but later she should have said something.
All in all I enjoyed the book, the characters were already in love and their only obstacle was a monster.

I read this as part of The Deadly Series Boxed Set.
While I liked Brayden, he seemed a bit more blah than Aiden and Gavin, nothing made him stand out from the other brothers. Ian was the most interesting character in the book, and I am looking forward to his story.
Christian's backstory was pretty horrific, hard to read at times. But her behavior was completely puzzling. I know she was concerned about everyone's safety, but the fact that her boyfriend and his family are sitting on billions of dollars should have made her a little more forthcoming. Richard is wealthy and powerful, but I would argue that the Kinncaid's have more money and that buys as much power as they want. So, I spent almost the entire book being frustrated by Christian's secretiveness.
The villain gets a satisfying ending, so I was happy with that.

Jaycee Clark really hit her stride with Deadly Obsession. This, the third book of this series was the best so far. Bray and Chris were a great couple, and I enjoyed both of their characters. I may not of made the same decisions as Chris did, but I could easily see her reasons for doing what she did. Happily, she was a stupid heroine. She had been through hell, and come out the other side a person I could respect.
I have the next book waiting on my Kindle, and will be reading it by the end of the week.

This is a great book and was one of my fav so far with the exception. I felt she left out a major part at the end hope that sense will show up in book 4. I had a hard time with the killer in this book a sick individual this one was, almost think more so then the first two. Scary to think about. The love that the leads show to each other and how he stands by her know matter how mad he get.

This started well, but after a while just became tedious. The heroine stubbornly refuses to reveal who the bad guy is (even after announcing her decision to tell everyone), lies to her family and sneaks off alone even after she has been attacked and knows she is in danger. It got ridiculous and dragged on and on.

Have you ever been uninterested in a book until 75 pages in and then just started crying uncontrollably? Because same 👀
I made the mistake of not realizing this was a series but from what I've gathered, you don't necessarily have to read the entire series or read them in order... but you might want to. The way this book had a chokehold on me and my emotions was unreasonable! There's a reason I was up so late to finish it.
This book is romantic, heavy, sad, full of danger and deceit, loving & light. My only complaint about this book is the editor and their failure to catch many typos, but the book was published in 2004 so I'm cutting them slack.

I am really enjoying this series. Christian Bills showed up at the Kinncaid home and was taken in by them and became more a sister and nanny for Tori, Brayden's daughter. When that line is crossed between Brayden and Christian, the morning after everything goes wrong and Christrian bolts and moves out. Now she has a stalker but this stalker is from her past and is extremely dangerous. This family has been through a lot and these brothers have had to work for their partners but these women also work for their men. Great story!

My attention was grabbed in the prologue and I was kept on the edge of my seat reading. There was a lot of suspense and tension. Christian was confusing for me I appreciated her reasons for her actions, but when things were spinning I didn't understand her being quiet. Christian was very frustrating for me. Brayden is definitely a Kinncaid, he's smart, a good father and very protective of his friends and family. My complaint with Deadly Obsession is it moves very slowly, some of the things are very drawn out. I read in The Deadly Series Boxed Set (Deadly, #1-5).

For years Christian has been living a lie, trying to escape her dangerous past. Brayden has always been a friend but lately those feelings have begun to grow. When he looks into her eyes he sees her feelings as well but mostly he sees her terror. When Christian's past finally catches up to her can Brayden help her escape danger or will they lose their chance at HEA once they've finally discovered love? A really sexy, suspenseful read. Loved it!

Just picked this book to read and I have to tell you, I could not put it down. From the beginning to the end even though I started with book three . I am going to read all in this series. The book is a hot read funny and annoying all at the same time. I recommend you get and won't regret it......

4-Obsessed Stars!
Brayden and Christian have been seen throughout the series, and I was so thrilled that they would be getting a book and would be paired together!
So right from the start, I was sucked into the story and couldn't put the book down. After all, I'm just dying to know what will happen next because I was rooting for the main characters to get their HEA.
The book was romantic, heartbreaking, and tragic all at the same time. Christian and Brayden's story isn't an easy one. They have so much to overcome, and so many struggles to finally be together.
Christian Bills, or Josephine Christian Clara Montreaux (I loved her name). I admit I have a love-hate relationship with her. Poor Christian went through so much in this book. She was physically and psychologically abused by her stalker. I like how she lived her life for the past ten years, how she became someone else. Someone strong, independent, and full of life. And then her past comes knocking. It was hard to watch her life fall apart. I went through many emotions with her. She surprisingly inspired so much sympathy in me. But as the book progressed, and this stalker-maniac threatened and terrorized her once again, she kept quiet about his identity even though she knew who it was, and that pissed me off big time! I get what she's been through, but she should have said something rather than kept mum about it. But as much as she annoyed me, I ended up genuinely liking her!
Brayden Kincaid. I was looking forward to reading his own story when I met him in the second book. He proved to be possessive, protective, loving, gorgeous, sexy, just like his brothers in his book. But there are times when I felt that he was a tad bit overwhelming, especially when it comes to Christian, but it was completely understandable given the things that happened to her. I also loved his relationship with his daughter, Toni, and you can feel his deep love for her. He had jerks and frustrating moments, but he came around sooner than I expected.
The chemistry between Brayden and Christian was intense. It has always been there, even before they ended up in bed together. I loved how she stood up to Brayden and showed him that he couldn't take advantage of her no matter how much she loved him, his daughter, and his family. And when Brayden got his act together, he made up for it! Reading about him wooing her made me swoon. I also adored Toni. She's a real sweetheart and smart too!
"So did you get me the Christmas present I wanted?"
She grabbed Christian's right hand, then shook her small dark head and reached for the left one. Dropping that one, she turned a frown on him.
"Daddy, Daddy, I ask for one thing, and you couldn't get it for me?"
And I loved all the family ties... that kind of stuff always makes me happy.
Brayden and Christian have been seen throughout the series, and I was so thrilled that they would be getting a book and would be paired together!
So right from the start, I was sucked into the story and couldn't put the book down. After all, I'm just dying to know what will happen next because I was rooting for the main characters to get their HEA.
The book was romantic, heartbreaking, and tragic all at the same time. Christian and Brayden's story isn't an easy one. They have so much to overcome, and so many struggles to finally be together.
Christian Bills, or Josephine Christian Clara Montreaux (I loved her name). I admit I have a love-hate relationship with her. Poor Christian went through so much in this book. She was physically and psychologically abused by her stalker. I like how she lived her life for the past ten years, how she became someone else. Someone strong, independent, and full of life. And then her past comes knocking. It was hard to watch her life fall apart. I went through many emotions with her. She surprisingly inspired so much sympathy in me. But as the book progressed, and this stalker-maniac threatened and terrorized her once again, she kept quiet about his identity even though she knew who it was, and that pissed me off big time! I get what she's been through, but she should have said something rather than kept mum about it. But as much as she annoyed me, I ended up genuinely liking her!
Brayden Kincaid. I was looking forward to reading his own story when I met him in the second book. He proved to be possessive, protective, loving, gorgeous, sexy, just like his brothers in his book. But there are times when I felt that he was a tad bit overwhelming, especially when it comes to Christian, but it was completely understandable given the things that happened to her. I also loved his relationship with his daughter, Toni, and you can feel his deep love for her. He had jerks and frustrating moments, but he came around sooner than I expected.
The chemistry between Brayden and Christian was intense. It has always been there, even before they ended up in bed together. I loved how she stood up to Brayden and showed him that he couldn't take advantage of her no matter how much she loved him, his daughter, and his family. And when Brayden got his act together, he made up for it! Reading about him wooing her made me swoon. I also adored Toni. She's a real sweetheart and smart too!
"So did you get me the Christmas present I wanted?"
She grabbed Christian's right hand, then shook her small dark head and reached for the left one. Dropping that one, she turned a frown on him.
"Daddy, Daddy, I ask for one thing, and you couldn't get it for me?"
And I loved all the family ties... that kind of stuff always makes me happy.

It seems that I have inadvertently fallen into the middle of the series. That's ok, as these books can also be read as stand-alone.
This book was exceptional. I literally could not put it down, I was up reading late into the night.
As a woman, this book was deeply upsetting. It shows the level of control that abusers of children have over them. In this case the abuse spilled over into Christian's adult life and turned into life threatening stalking. It shows the depth and depravity stalkers will go to. It gave me chills! The best part of the book was how Brayden supported Christian and really took things at her pace. I loved his sensitivity, it was touching.
I am looking forward to read the rest of this series!

So far, this has definitely been the best of the series. I loved this book...probably just because Christian and Brayden have had such a long relationship. She had been part of the family since she ran away from her family in her teens. To the other Kinncaid brothers, she's like a sister, which is why Brayden is so discombobulated by his new sexual feelings for her. He doesn't know what to do with this, but knows he doesn't want to do anything that could threaten Christian's standing in the family, so he steps back from his feelings for her. Something she does not appreciate at all.
I liked the by-play between Christian and Brayden at the beginning and LOVED how she stood up to him. She's always been there for him in raising his daughter Tori and just assumes that she always will be, no matter what happens between them emotionally. I love that she stood up to him on that and showed him that he couldn't take advantage of her. And watching her entire life-story unfold was heartbreaking. She's been through so much and has come out as such a strong character. I loved her.
And with this entire series...Kinncaid men...one word- YUMMY! Brayden doesn't change that at all. I love these guys and how protective they are and how they all work together to protect their women...including Ian, the black sheep who always shows up to help out. (I can't wait for his story!)
And, as always, Johanna Parker was AMAZING at her narration. I love her voices...both male and female. They work for me and she is definitely up there as one my favorite narrators.

This is my first review on Goodreads, and I chose to review this particular book as it is one of my absolute favourite books and forms part of one of my favourite series.
It is the story of Christian, a woman stalked and in hiding.
i love Jaycee Clark’s style as we have both MCs point of views and, the way she write, i can really feel the Hero’s love for the heroine. Apart from that, she write romantic suspence as it should be. The characters here are truly hurt by the evil deeds of the villian. Some RS that i have read were truly disappointing to me, as there is lots of threat and promise of harm but then nothing happens and the MCs, unbelievably enough, pass through everything almost unharmed, while those around them fall like flies. For my part, i love reading about situations where the hero truly believes he is about to lose his loved one and has a melt down. What Christian suffers under the hands of her stalker is harrowing, and real. Nothing sugar coated here or forgotten after just a few paragraphs.
This was my first book by Ms Clark but i quickly read the rest of the serues, and all were very satisfying romantic suspences, filled with real danger, passion and love! Her writing style is very good and i wonder why she has not written many more books as i can only find short stories by her.
If you are after a romantic suspence story which is equally balanced on the passionate romance as well as on the nail biting suspence, with a great hero thouroughly in love with his loved one , i highly recommend the whole Deadly Series. 5 star for me for all books, but Deadly Obsession remains my favourite of the series.

Deadly Ties, the 3rd installment of the Kinncaid Brothers series was such a heartwarming story. After reading this, I went and read some of the reviews. All though I do agree that Christian should have told Brayden and the rest of the Kinncaid family who her stalker was, I also do understand. If you think about it, coming from her point of view, she's told people in the past and those people she's lost because of it, I can understand her fear of losing anyone in the Kinncaid family as now they are her true family. It's all based on fear, but fear can make you do foolish things and make the wrong decisions.
That being said, I do have to say that this was one of my favorites so far in the Kinncaid Brothers series. Reading the abuse and rape and horrible past that Christian went through brought up some very bad memories for me. It was hard to read through, but I loved how Jaycee Clark wrote Christian's character. Yes, again, she should have been honest with the Kinncaid family, but she went from being a victim to a strong woman who was willing to fight back and win her freedom from fear.
And again I really enjoyed how the entire Kinncaid family moved to stand by her as family should do, even though she kept secrets. Deadly Ties was a very moving, emotional, romantic, and heartwarming story. It was intense, with lots of twists and turns, action packed and well written. It was frustrating at times, but also a nail biter. I was glued to the book. Hard to put down.
One of my favorites so far. I can't wait until the next one.

TSTL (to stupid to live) heroines are my least favorite type of the damsel in distress found too often in romantic-suspense. Christine Bills is most certainly TSTL. After 8 years of living with Brayden Kinncaid and taking care of his daughter, Tori, Christian and Brayden finally get together, but it ends up as a one night stand when Bray makes an ass of himself (pun intended). Christian decides that some space is needed and gets her own place. Shortly after, the past she fled finds her again and she starts receiving candid pictures. She decides not to tell Brayden or report it to the police. Can anyone say TSTL?
Christian escaped a living hell when she left, I really can't call it a home, and disappeared. I'm not going to say that what she did, in not telling Brayden or going to the police, is right, but she did have valid reasons. The book is a roller-coaster ride from start to finish and although the baddie it known, almost from the start, the suspense plot is excellent and the romance is hot. Third book in the series and although it may be good as a standalone, read this in order. Several characters reappear and the bad sheep brother, Ian, makes another appearance. I really look forward to his story.

Can any obsession be good? Certainly not for Christain, or as she used to be call Josephine. Once upon a time there was a girl named Josephine who was the apple of her step-fathers eye. Actually she was his Angel and nobody else could have her. He would make sure of that even if he had to kill her new family and the man she loved named Braydon.
I just love this 5-book series so far. This is the only author who has been able to put a suspense/love story together and make it actually work. The good characters are the same throughout and only the bad ones change. Each brother who falls in love has an obstacle to overcome and it is usually messy. The woman always get hurt and it is up to the men to save the day.
The plot is wonderful in this particular book and the bad guy is written really bad. He has no conscience and a one track mind. To get his Angel back! The way it is weaved with the right amount of suspense and how love still grows makes it an exciting book. It is predictable through out but that does not take away from the amount of pleasure I had while reading it.

My 3rd on the Kinncaid brothers love story and I think JC upped her ante. Cos this bOok make my blood boils.... Boiling to the max. For a start, Christian happen to show up on their doorstep years ago. And the Kinncaid had kept her and raise her as their own. And one day, Christian received something that remind her of a past. And that past push me to keep reading and find out. Yes, I'm a bit pissed with her secrecy about her assailant but then based on what she encounterd years back, I wOuldnt blame her. In fact, I actually admire her strength and moving forward. I'm very disgusted with the obsession that her assailant had on her. And the best part is her mother knew what's going on and did not offer to help. Instead she's been advising the culprit to kill Christian. So after Deadly Ties, we have another crazy who don't give a damn to their children psycho mother. As a matter of fact, I don't like the ending. Death is an easy way out for him. He deserve more punishments for the hurt and deaths that he caused.

Can you say AWESOME……
I started reading the 1st books in this series (they can be read in order or as stand alones) 5:54pm Friday and by 7:29am Monday morning I had finished the 5th book. Yes I barely left the house all weekend and I was late for work Monday!
This romantic suspense series has fantastic characters, the author has made them come alive. As you read these books you immerse yourself into the characters’ lives, you become vested in them overcoming obstacles, defeating the bad guys and living happily ever after. The author has created a nice balanced between the suspense and the romance in these books. Throughout each book you’re on the edge of your seat waiting for the dark menace in the background to kill and destroy; yet the development of relationships is at the forefront of these books, as well as the traumatic events which lead up to this point in the their lives.
To sum up: Hot rich alpha males, strong wounded heroines, hot sex scenes, great characters, terrific storylines and very suspenseful.

I loved how this book started with the main characters already regretting a hook up. I definitely saw that these characters were destined to be together based on previous stories, What Christian suffered was awful. But, I didn't like how she continued to act stupid throughout the story. Over and over she could have and should have protected herself and continuing to not tell the entire story or hiding information from the people that could help her. I get that she was threatened and previous people who had helped her met with bad ends, but I still think her behavior didn't protect but only further risk the people she loved. There were just too many people doing stupid things (ie letting a somewhat stranger waltz into their house when they know there is someone stalking members of their family, really) and that made it harder for me to think this story plausible. I did love continuing to see other characters from previous books, and I loved how Ian inserted himself into the crisis - I could see him as the florist in my mind and I laughed.

This was my first time reading this author, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it turns out that I thoroughly enjoyed both her writing style and they way she tied the story together through the various points of view being introduced through multiple characters.
Christian is a strong female lead who has been through a lot in her short life. As someone who also has trouble opening up about feelings and emotions, especially to the people who love her, I felt like I was experiencing the story with her, both the ups and the downs

So far, this is the best yet. The suspense and thrill is even higher when Kinncaid's adopted sweetheart Christian is placed in a bad situation. Her past collides with her future and the reason she showed up on the Kinncaid's doorstep all those years ago, comes back to make life hell.
The "fast love" that you find in the earlier novels, isn't present in this one because Christian and Brayden have already known each other. She has practically raised his daughter as her own. It was bound to happen.
The ever present (lately anyway) Ian shows up more in this book and we are starting to get an understanding on just how talented he is. Can't wait for his book!
