Not one of Julia's best I've a few that I really like this doesn't make the grade
Basic plot Saxon maid has to marry a Norman bride not pleased about it and that's the book in a nutshell
There's a side plot almost tagged on that probably could have been missed without damaging the story

I preferred the second book to the first one but overall they were good reads still.
