So I read this book, and to me it was just too long. Don't get me wrong, I love Sylvia Hubbard but I had a hard time finishing it. It has a good plot, but some of the characters will make you want to cuss at them. They were frustrating because you feel bad for them and you want them to stick up for themselves.

I enjoyed this book!
I will agree with some of the reviews that I have read that indicated there were typos, and several wrong used word tenses; however, in my opinion these errors didn't interrupt the flow of the story. It also didn't take away my opinion of the book.
Here is what I thought of the main characters: Shane (BW) - I liked her. I would have liked for her to stand up to her family and not let them run over her (and in actuality they were downright evil), but then we wouldn't really have a story, would we? To me she was a strong woman, because she could have just given up and made a wreck of her life, just like her cousin Trudy in the story (you need to read the story to see what I mean).
Paul (WM) - What woman wouldn't love a man that wants to take care of her. He has a positive attitude for someone that is going through one of the hardest things an individual could face in life (no spoiler here!). Yet, he is capable of love and makes so sacrifices that most people wouldn't even think about.
Andrew (WM)(Paul's brother) - he faced some of the worst betrayals that a person can face (parental), and yes it has caused him to not want to be vulnerable to anyone, especially of the female persuasion. Yet, he would do anything for his brother, and I mean anything (again no spoiler here). But, he does finally find himself falling for one particular woman!
Now the secondary characters that the author has in the story are a mix of crazy, insane, back stabbing, and evil, and most of them are in Shane's family. That would be an Aunt (mother's sister), uncle (aunt's husband), cousin, and even a supposedly best friend. There are also some additional evil family members that Shane finds out about later on in the story (read and see who these relatives are). There are some good secondary characters, and you would be surprised at whose these people are (I don't want to give too much away).
When you read the book you will realize that there is actually two different suspense lines going on that affect the main character Shane, and they are part of what makes the story good. The other part is the love triangle that exist between the main characters, that in my opinion makes you say Awwwww!
Again, I enjoyed this book and the storyline was not typical. I look forward to reading additional stories by this author.
I love love loved the plot, the men, the sex scenes, the suspense, the overlapping relationships between the characters, the sub plots that eventually lead back into the main one. I couldn't put this book down. I needed to know how it ended.
But I struggled not to cuss Shane - I admit, I struggle to sympathise with heroines who ignore obvious signs of danger. There's only so many times you can shout 'you stupid girl!' at a book before your husband gives you the side-eye cause he's trying to sleep. The other main irritant in this book could have been easily resolved with a decent editor or some careful proofreading. I will say this though, eventually the story became so important to me that I was able to skip over the errors because I wanted to know what happened next more than I wanted to focus on the grammatical failings of the text. These 2 issues are the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars.
