Rate this book
Meek Little Caroline found a true friend when she found Toby. For a brief moment in time he becomes her knight in shining armor, for Caroline has a secret and Toby swears to keep it, until they are torn apart by circumstances beyond their control.

Southern girl struggling to survive in the New York jungle, Caroline Jones steadfastly makes her way through each day, dealing with her lowlife landlord the same way she deals with everything, without complaint, straightforward, one foot in front of the other.

Country music’s most eligible bachelor, Toby Nash, has stopped believing in love, at least not the kind written about by poets, until he runs into a childhood friend in the most unlikely of places. Stunned to find the girl who’s haunted him for fifteen years, he realizes why he’s never found love.

Vanquishing both old and new demons together, they learn about life, about sacrifice, about survival and eventually learn to believe in love again.

As I said for the first book in the series.. I love this author. She doesn't follow the traditional romance formula so I never know where she's gonna go. And that's a good thing. I really love this story even though it doesn't involve the Kinos and Adams very much. These characters all come back in several of the following books. Caro and Toby are beautiful characters and I really loved this story. Again, as in the first book, lots of action, surprises and a beautiful romance. Loved it!

I love the stories, I love the characters, I even love the offbeat scene on the horse. but I am turned off by grammar errors. I feel frustrated because the potential is there for quality...basic grammar or good proofreading would take care of the problem.
