4.5 stars 🔐💌🫶🏻 I was thrilled to receive an arc of “Watch Me” by Astra Rose. Having been a fan since reading “Haven,” which skillfully intertwined isolation, forced proximity, and reverse harem elements reminiscent of Penelope Douglas’s “Credence” (my all-time favorite), my expectations were high—and they were met. Here you get a tumultuous age-gap romance filled with the perfect blend of angst, voyeurism, forbidden lust, and heartwarming moments of genuine connection and redemption. Astra’s writing is well-edited, refined, and sharp, distinguishing itself in a genre flooded with clichés and predictable outcomes. “Watch Me” offers a slightly gentler introduction to her world, making it perfect for both newcomers and those wary of too much spice and/or darker themes. Fans of the boyfriend’s dad trope in “Birthday Girl” or the intense chemistry in Danielle Lori’s “Sweetest Obsession” will find this book irresistible.

I think this is the first time I've read a book that was so sex-positive. Not only does our fmc, Zoe, strip for a living, but she's also very open and has an optimistic outlook on her sexuality. Our mmc, Nick, who is quite older, is also very much perverted which makes the two perfect for each other.
This was quite the slow burn but the tension was A1. I just felt the relationship aspect was too short before the drama ensued.

WOW this is hot and dirty. Zoe is a ballerina in training during the day and a stripper at night. Her boyfriend is shall we say a jerk. But she is trying to make things work. Then she meets Nick. I don’t want to give anything away but let’s just say that there is a close relationship between Zoe’s boyfriend and Nick.
Enough said about that. This is a short read but so worth it. Love the kink which even makes it hotter. Enjoy

I liked the steamy and kinky bits of this age gap, boyfriend's dad story and I really liked the start, but the more it went on the more bored I got with the story in between the steamy bits, which didn't feel as strong or interesting. It was way more story than steam so the fact I was kind of meh on the story didn't help my overall impression.
It is pretty standard set-up for this trope, with her boyfriend being a jerk so there is no real competition or caring that she is attracted to his dad. I prefer when there is some angst over being in a decent/good relationship with a decent/good guy, you are just more attracted, unexpectedly, to his dad. But in this case there is no real angst because you are too busy sneering at her crap bf and her for staying with him or feeling guilty at all. I understand the hero feeling torn because he knows he was an absentee father and is trying to make it up but I have no sympathy for an adult who uses parenting as an excuse/justification for their terrible actions. I understand why authors choose this dynamic, since it makes the heroine/hero more sympathetic for their actions (which are super, duper mild in this one anyway) but I just see it too often and I think it's more realistic and interesting for there to be an okay relationship, or even when you think is good, that gets blown out of the water by unexpected intense chemistry.
All of that being said (so many words! lol) I dug the first chapter a lot, was interested in the voyeurism/exhibitionism and sharing kinks (especially the sharing), even though really all of that was pretty tame to me, and I did think the main couple had good physical chemistry, though I never felt their emotional/love connection.

Après Haven, encore une lecture de cette autrice qui fait flop pour moi...
J'avais alors envisagé de ne pas retenter l'expérience, mais Watch me, avec son kink d'exhibitionnisme et un casting alléchant, (silver fox, stripper juvénile) m'a convaincue de replonger.
Au début, l'enchainement de l'intrigue et l'écriture fluide et inspirée m'ont laissé espérer un petit régal de lecture érotique.
Mais la partie de plaisir a tourné court.
Moments romantiques gnangnans entre nos deux tourtereaux, quoiqu'entachés de culpabilité (notre héroïne, Zoey, est la petite amie - delaissée et même trompée par le fils de Nick, notre renard argenté), scrupules ridicules du père qui veut restaurer sa relation avec son fils éloigné (soit dit en passant, une caricature de geek immature qui ne mérite pas le quart de leur cas de conscience) en piétinant au passage ses sentiments et ceux de Zoey, qui lui a naïvement avoué son amour, sexe tiédasse alors que l'intrigue promet des rapports incandescents.
Et je ne m'étendrai pas sur la scène ridicule du club libertin, où nos deux amants contrariés se retrouvent, à leur insu, en tenue d'Eve et d'Adam, engagés dans un "congrès" sans jamais se reconnaitre alors qu'ils se parlent, se touchent, se sentent (parce que leurs visages sont entièrement masqués, la blague !)
Bref, le train n'a pas déraillé dès le premier virage cette fois, mais le crash pour moi n'en est pas moins flagrant.
Déçue, une fois encore, et decidément frustrée.

Very very hot! Definitely loved this one and was thinking it was going to be a 5 star read for me. Solid age gap, boyfriend's dad trope with a lot of kink - mainly voyeurism and exhibitionism. Zoe is a trained ballet dancer, but also a stripper. Nick - her boyfriend's (and later ex) dad is an accomplished businessman who has not been a present father to his 20 something son. I struggled a little bit with this book in how "toxic" both the men (father and son) were for Zoe and how - even though she sometimes seemed like a strong female lead - she was ok with scraps at times. It got a bit sad there for a bit too, but there was a happy ending.

There are some point where Nick felt immature compared to Zoe, he could have delt with the issue differently. Him choosing to run a way was a bit frustrating. I kept thinking that he could have done things the other way.

The Zoe, David, Nick thing was okay at the beginning but then i felt uncomfortable. Yet thinking again, the book itself was taboo and uncomfortable. I tested my limits, and i think i can go more.
The book reminded me of The Praise. The girl is in a relationship with the son then she meets the father who is very hot and mature, and both fall for each other. Moreover, both books mention sex/kink club.
It was short and enjoyable read. however, towards the end, it felt rushed ( not that I'm complaining.

Very disappointing.
The framing:
It made no sense that the female lead was even with the male lead's son in the first place, given he ignored her when they were together, didn't even want to have sex with her and was a douche.
On that note, it made no sense that the male lead's son was even with the female lead, given he was more interested in his on-line life than her, didn't even want to have sex with her and felt humiliated that she was a stripper.
Male lead:
made him look weak. And made his feelings for her look weak. (By the end, if the female lead had to be with someone, I wanted to see her with the male lead's friend David because he clearly cared more about her than the male lead did. But I would have rather seen her single and freely exploring her sexuality.)
Relationship-building:
Too much time was spent with the leads apart just thinking about each other and not enough with them actually being together.
Smut:
Lots of hot promise, mainly no or mediocre carry thru.
Climax:
Very poorly presented and handled.
Do not recommend.

Have you ever come across a book that just hooked you in a way no other has for a very long time ? That you found yourself not only falling completely in love with from the very first page but had the ability to make you feel so many different emotions you never saw coming? Kinda like being on the craziest ride at the amusement park !!! you know that feelijg you get in your stomach from being excited and nervous at the same time - the anticipation of whats to come next ? Well Watch Me did all of the above in spades . I mean who doesn’t love a dark , delicious and oh so steamy love story with forbidden and ex boyfriends father tropes . Zoe is a Ballerina by day and a stripper by night who very quirckly realizes she deserves so much more then a boyfriend who doesn’t appreciate her who takes advantage of her . Nick comes into her life when she least expects it and turns everything on its axis. Watch Me is definitely going on my list of top reads for 2024

I went into this one somewhat blind and loved that it had a lot of content that I love in my books! Age gap/taboo/ex’s dad, k!nk loaded inc voyeurism, sharing, breeding, daddy/little girl…To name a few. I would have liked more spice and more plot. I felt the ending was rushed and parts were overlooked. I mean who has an anonymous 3way, has identities revealed but there’s no confrontation about it? It’s just gets brushed under the rug.
It was a short read 200 odd pages, but I think could benefit from another 100 to finish it up nicer.

Watch Me was a very intriguing story.
Zoe is a ballerina by day, but an exotic dancer by night. I liked how she didn't feel any shame about this, as is correct. She embraced her sexuality and she was comfortable with herself. However, she might've been too comfortable with her life as she allowed her boyfriend to treat her poorly. He wasn't abusive, but he seemed to just be ignorant of her needs and didn't really care about her. Nick (the father), was a pretty good guy, but he kept sending mixed signals to Zoe. Some days he wanted her, sometimes he pushed her away. He was giving me whiplash. That's my only major complaint.
The storyline was good and was filled with a lot of spicy moments.
Zoe is a ballerina by day, but an exotic dancer by night. I liked how she didn't feel any shame about this, as is correct. She embraced her sexuality and she was comfortable with herself. However, she might've been too comfortable with her life as she allowed her boyfriend to treat her poorly. He wasn't abusive, but he seemed to just be ignorant of her needs and didn't really care about her. So hot, so forbidden, very very yummy. Medium to slow burn, since Nick doesn't get over the fact that Zoe is his son's ex-gf, so he's not willing to commit til near the end, but high heat after 50%.
Kinda wished there was a scene for Tate and Zoe to resolve their problems, especially after Tate cheated on her and then basically ghosted her. What a jerk. Though I'm glad Tate and Nick got to resolve theirs father/son issues, it also seemed a bit rushed. Also wished there was a scene of what David thought after that threesome scene since Zoe seemed so torn over having lied to him. Wanted to get David's POV on whether he was ok with it or if he felt disgusted (if he saw himself and Zoe as father/child relationship). The sharing/group sex was hot and wished there was more.
Ending seemed a bit rushed. We get an epilogue right after that group scene, and there seems to be some missing resolutions in-between. Wished there was 100 more pages to the book.
Ends in HEA, and the wedding venue and event/consummation definitely fit Nick and Zoe's kinks.

First book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it.
I f you want to open your mind this has abit of everything, age gap, sex club, tjreesomes, voyeurism boyfriend’s dad.
Zoe an inspiring Ballet dancer is a stripper, her boyfriend Tate is not really interested in her, they seem to have fallen into a rut but she is trying to make it work . Along comes Nick who turns Zoe’s head. Not going to say much more as dnt want to spoil it.
I liked how Zoe’s character developed and how she found herself& her confidence.
The only negative I have is that I would have liked more about when Nick and David found out who was behind the mask, it would have been interesting to see how that played out.

An okay steamy read
This was an okay read. Erotic, steamy and the storyline was okay. Zoe was an okay character. Training to be a ballet dancer by day and worked as a stripper by night. They hadn’t been together for long and he didn’t like her stripping but other than he had a beautiful girlfriend to show off he didn’t seem all that interested. Nick was a good guy and didn’t really do anything wrong. Was okay.

I loved so much about this. But I really feel like she was owed two real apologies she didn’t get at all. Idk. Felt a little sexist that it was more about getting a man’s permission to sleep with a woman, only bc he slept with he first. I get there’s more to it, but they both treated her like an object and then never had to explain themselves or apologize. I know it’s smut, but there was a real romance here I was invested in.

I love Nick you could feel his struggles with trying to do the right thing but Zoe and nick were super compatible in there tastes, Zoe is a strong FMC although you can see her self doubt with what she likes due to past relationship but she does have a confident side, chapter 17 will be with me for a while it was HOT!!! 🥵

Not sure why this book doesn’t have more reviews because it is so good! Who doesn’t love a boyfriend’s dad trope?! No friend of mine. Zoe is a strong lead and her confidence is refreshing. I love when the FMC refuses to feel shame, like Zoe enjoying stripping and her exhibitionism. And Nick? My stars above, that man is hot!
