Christian Lancelot Du Lac was never one to take a situation seriously. Growing up he had always been the comedic relief to Jared Bonatelli’s brooding nature. Now, just as The Dark Order welcomes Jared as its new Prince, Du Lac is informed that he must become a first in command the future King can truly rely on. When he repeatedly fails in his attempts to prove himself, Lance is thrown back in time to where his life began, Camelot. What he finds there is more than he could have bargained for.
Drawn to the forest surrounding Camelot, Lady Elizabeth Payne searches for something that seems just out of her reach. Tormented by a pair glowing eyes in the mist she steals away in the middle of the night to find their owner. Thieves, a wolf and the most infuriating savior she has ever met turn her simple world upside down. But it’s the attraction she feels to the newcomer that truly takes her by surprise. Learning that he is Christian Du Lac, the long lost son of the First Knight himself peaks her curiosity even more.
Now on the cusp of meeting her betrothed for the first time, Elizabeth’s heart has been claimed by another. But even a betrothal written in blood is no match for fate.
For Lance and Elizabeth, the odds are stacked against them. Their worlds are destined to remain forever apart. Can time heal all wounds or will the fates change their course and let the star crossed lovers find each other once again?
Sandi Bischoff lives in the historic town of Cornwall, NY with her husband, son and a menagerie of Dragons all of whom have their own distinct personalities. She is a Pharmacist by profession but finally found her true calling in a simple twist of fate. A friend approached her to write for a character in a forum on a popular networking website and over the next five years her passion had found its niche. She then went on to compose a few poems and short stories which she would post on her homepage at the same networking site. Recently one of those poems was chosen to be published in a compilation called Collected Whispers.
Her first manuscript entitled Beyond the Sun was another short story gone wild. It has recently been picked up by Bayou Brew Publishing and was released on April 1st.
I was given Beyond Time as an ARC and let me just tell you eat your hearts out. Sandi nailed ever aspect of writing a book that is critical. No spoilers here at all because you need to have the full experience yourself. The detail she lays out for you is awesome. With every scene it's like you are there, with every emotion you can feel, and when you get to certain parts you really feel it lol. Not only that but Sandi did a phenomenal job with separating the dialects due to the different eras of time. It was comical is a sense of Lance being a (Excuse the way I say this) "smart ass." You can't help but love him for that and Elizabeth for her innocent/I'm woman attitude. You will laugh, bite your nails, and you will cry. As Sandi told me, "Just when you think it's over, think again."
I received this book in exchange for an honest review (Lovers of Paranormal, LoP).
Another awesome story by Ms. Bischoff! She did a great job with the time travel aspect and even with the obviously different dialects between the characters. Lance is probably my favorite character from this series, with all of his smart-assery (especially between him and Zephyr). What better way to learn how to really be able to guard Jared then by learning/improving his skills with Sir Lancelot from Camelot? With the way Ms. Bischoff writes stories, it's easy to feel the emotions that the characters are experiencing, and that is not something that's easy to achieve. I would definitely recommend this series!
What can I say except the second installment of the Dark Order of the Dragon series was excellent. Ms. Bischoff really outdid herself with Beyond Time. Lance is my favorite character written by Ms. Bischoff. After reading Beyond the Sun I wondered when we would see more of him. Luckily for me it was not long at all. Sandra Bischoff weaves a tale of a wolf out of time, sent back to learn how to protect the king from Camelot's Champion Sir Lancelot. What could go wrong, right? Almost everything would be the answer. Since I am a fan of "no spoilers" you will need to pick this book up. I was very lucky to receive and ARC copy of Beyond Time. There are plenty of twists and turns, and "Oh my... that did not just happen" moments in this book. Sandra Bischoff has more than outdone herself with the sequel to Beyond the Sun. Beyond Time is a book that will keep you turning the pages to find out what fate has in store for all these characters. She weaves the tale so well that you care for these fictional people, you will laugh and cry with them. Oh and maybe occasionally want to go all wolf and maybe bite heads off. Trust me on this, pick up Beyond Time, you will not regret it.
This paranormal fantasy romance takes us from present day way back in time to Camelot, King Arthur’s court and how one unwitting young man Christian Lancelot DeLac learns to be a knight and a formidable foe to guard his friend Prince Jared Bonatelli. However it was not in the scheme for him to find his mate Lady Elizabeth Payne and the complications/perils to achieve the goal. I also believe that there is moral in this story, you may not have been raised by the family that bore you but that doesn’t mean that they don’t love or care and maybe theres continue waiting circumstances that forced them to give you into some else’s care.
This story is a fun albeit sometimes gruesome trip back in time to Lords, Ladies, chivalry and love. Thank you Sandra Bischoff for gifting me this finely concocted tale. I enjoyed it immensely and look forward to listening to more. Also Nicholas Patrella did an excellent job narrating.
Beyond Time is the second book in the Dark Order of the Dragon series. This book centers around a shifter character named Christian Lancelot Du Lac who is the best friend and guard to book one's Jared. Sandra Bischoff's concept of a shifter as uniquely her own as was her concept of vampires from book 1, Beyond the Sun. I don't want to give too much of that away in the review, but it was a pretty fun spin on things. The setting of this book keeps the medieval theme, even throwing in a few new characters. I also like that we got more depth on Zephyr's character in this book. Not only did we learn more about what he did and his role in the past, but also quite a bit more about the character of who he is as a person. I also really liked the relationship between Lance and Elizabeth. The way that they interact with each other feels very real, and their dialogue is well written and funny. I think their romance is in a lot of ways more relatable than that of Jared and Alex even because the reader can sympathize with Elizabeth since she is human and thrown into this mix of paranormal creatures and motives. Elizabeth is also quite a bit younger than Alex, and not nearly as experienced in the ways of the world.
It's a quick paced read, and there is quite a bit of action that weaves around the theme of Lance proving himself and finding love in a very unexpected place (and time for that matter). He has some very difficult decisions that he has to work through. There is some fairly graphic violence, but it is significant to the character development. I only get upset with an author/series when they make you sympathize with their characters and then those characters are hurt without explanation or resolution. None of the violence is for shock factor alone. The end of this book is the best part of all and every loose end that you've been toying with from the beginning is tied up. I wasn't left wanting for a satisfied conclusion to the book. The overall theme of this one is love, and that overshadows everything else that is happening.
I mentioned in my review of Beyond the Sun, what a talented world builder Sandra Bischoff is, and she doesn't let you down in Beyond Time. The way that she blends fantasy, medieval culture, and contemporary paranormal concepts is something that still blows my mind. I can't wait to see what the focus of book 3 will be. I would recommend Beyond Time to anyone who is a fan of shifter books, medieval fantasy, or paranormal romance. The way that Sandra Bischoff has written the Dark Order of the Dragon series is reminiscent of the Others series, where while it involves some of the same characters, they can be read as stand alone books if you like. I have read countless vampire and paranormal books. This series is one of my top favorites, and has earned it's place on my reread shelf.
Lola Kyle Reviews:::: (I was given a free copy of this book by the author in exchange for a normal review) And so the story picks up as I continue to read. After seeing the date stated in the sub heading, my heart is at ease to see the era, that is Camelot, take flight. After the last book, I had my fears. I apologize for my lack of faith dearest Author, you have sated my appetite for the medieval era I craved. The story mainly focuses on Lance, as he finds himself on a journey of self discovery and learns to prove his worth as a true knight and defender. We do see some of Alex, Jared, Z and Sam, with introductions to new characters, but this one centers around the first born of the First Knight. I find myself lost for words, a true surprise because I usually cannot stop talking. This heart wrenching tale takes us on a journey through time and into a land only some believe exists. Life is never easy when you are destined to serve and protect a unique king, coupled with the need to walk in the footsteps of a great knight and prove yourself to be just as great (if not a better) man than his father. In my eyes, that makes him even more relatable than Jared. (Sorry to all of you that are gung ho for the dark prince.) Let's face it, we all have that one thing that we all believe we can't live up to, except we haven't mastered it yet. While reading this book, I can definitely say that tears pooled at the surface, barely contained. I empathized, I rallied and I even held my breath when thinking about the way it looked, a true work of art. A battle fought and won, a love found and lost. Will he lose himself or will he rise up and play the cards that he's been dealt? Read Beyond Time to find out.
Favorite Lines “Knowing the one you protect is half the battle. Too many times we do not see the truth for what it is. That alone can destroy the trust between you. Never forget it.”
“Maybe that’s because you can’t change your own past, only build on the future. Make it what it needs to be, for me, no one else.”
“A ceremony does not make a knight. ‘Tis what is inside a man that makes him one.”
“He had marked her. Not only had he marked her, he changed history. Fuck. Me. What they had done could never be undone. He was a dead man.”
“You are my heart, my soul, my everything and I will move heaven and heart to make sure no one ever takes you away from me again.”
“My boy, you have much to learn. No item, whether it was purposely left or accidentally, should be brushed away. Watch your back, Prince. I have a feeling something is coming for all of you.”
I love a Camelot! I want to go visit!! Lance is just amazing! He's an amazing friend, wolf, protector, funny, and oh so sexy! I was blown away by some of the surprises in this book. A couple of times I was thinking WTF are you serious! It's along with book 1 is epic!! Lance and Elizabeth defy the HUGE odds against them! Reading about there love and the reunion between lance and his family was phenomenal! Bishcoff does an amazing job and lead you through her world effortlessly. She combined the past, the future, and magic perfectly! Is you a lover of all things paranormal (like me) then you will love this book! I can't wait to see what comes next!
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review (GHB)
Wow twist and turns at every corner. Lance a wolf shifter with an interesting past that began in Camelot, yes The Camelot. Lance is Jared protector and best friend but he has a bit of an attitude and everyone name lt Sam and Zephyr think it's time he learnt a lesson or 2...lol they really should have known better.
I love Lance he is sexy, protective, a wolf and yeah did I say a Wolf ......... Yes I do love a sexy shifter.
I loved Lance in book 1 and in book 2 he comes into his own even more so. Lance has been trained since he was a little boy to protect Jared and now Jared's wife Alex and Lance would easily give his life for either of them and not just because it is his job, they are his family and he loves them dearly, he wants what they have, not in a jealous way he wants the love they share with his mate and he wonders often if he will ever meet her.
So what happens when Sam and Zephyr interfere and send Lance back in time.... Yes time travel I love time travel, but this is so much more we also have Camelot, The Lady of the Lake, Family, Vampires, Demons and more I loved the references to fairytales from my childhood, I love all of the characters good, bad and very very nasty.....lol I also love a good romance, forbidden love and all of the mystery surrounding fate and destiny and if there will be a happily ever after.
This ending was great it was like a supernatural everafter I loved it can't wait for the next book.
Received free copy in exchange for an honest review. Beyond Time is the second book in the Dark Order of the Dragon. Sandi did it again and wrote another amazing novel. While keeping to the series, she also was able to make this novel unique by adding another element. I loved this story's plot and the ability to check in with other characters, while learning more about specific characters. This story also has a touch of mystery and romance, while also revealing more about Lance, Jared's long time friend.
Without revealing too much, Beyond Time starts off where Beyond the Sun ends. It has the same characters in it as the first book, but Beyond Time focuses on Lance. Lance has a lot of development needed in order for him to fulfill the role that has been thrust upon him. While trying to prepare for that role and being pushed by others, he looks into his past and faces it head on. This is an element that surprised me, but I thoroughly enjoyed.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. After reading Beyond the Sun, I was better equipped to handle the point of view Sandi Bischoff writes with. While I found it sometimes confusing in the first book, it didn't bother me at all in this book. I just needed to get used to the new writing style that I had never encountered before. Sandi Bischoff wrote another amazing book and I cannot wait to see what she writes next!
I received this book in return for an honest review from LoP.
I really like reading books about Camelot and King Arthur but they are always the same and after awhile they tend to be dry. I enjoyed reading a modern book that interacted with the past. I liked that this centered on Lance learning of his heritage and finding the will to protect. I hate what happened to him but in the end all his physical wounds were healed. I like that this series isn't vampire focused or werewolf focused. I like that it is magic focused. It seems everything magical is in this series without it being overwhelming. I do not like that at the end everyone from Camelot was able to come to the future because if it was that easy then Lance should have been able to know his mother. I like that he was given someone to fill the hole he had because he wasn't going to be happy just being someone else's guard and that's it. It was easy for me to get to know the characters and feel like they were real which is what I look for when reading. I want to be able to immerse myself in the book as an outsider but still in their world. That is what I felt in this, I was in Camelot with Lance on the ground during training and I was with Alex as she was struggling with her pregnancy.

I quite enjoyed the story of Lance and it was nice to see a little bit of background on how he became the man that he was. I did like how it went between present day in New York and back into medieval times around the time of King Arthur and Camelot. When I first started reading the story I was a little hesitant because I saw that it did go between the two different time periods but my worries were not warranted as the author kept it going and followed the story from present-day New York and into medieval Camelot. I was a little worried when I first started reading the story because Lance is character came off a little bit harsh and Rough Around the Edges so it was very refreshing to see that he did have a softer side and that family and love meant the world to him. Even though Lance and his father Lancelot his brother Galahad did not really get to grow up together it was nice to see that even though there were years apart they still had that relationship that came with being family. I can't wait to see what Sandra has next For us and I'm really excited to read whatever she has next. I would thoroughly recommend this story to anyone who loves a little bit of action and romance and a wolf who is not afraid to speak his mind.
This was a wonderful book, this is the second book in the series, and it is just as good as the first book. You can read this as a standalone, but I encourage you to read the first book in the series just so you can get to know the characters. This is Christian (Lance’s) story, and it is fantastic. Lance has never taken things serious and it is time for him to step up his game. He is responsible for keeping Jared the new prince safe. During Lance’s training he continues to goof off, so he is sent back in time to Camelot, where he was actually born. He learns that Lancelot is his father and has to end up training with Lancelot and the Knights of the Round Table. While in Camelot he meets Elizabeth, who is betrothed to another. There are so many things that happen in this book so once you start reading it you won’t want to put it down until you finish. I have always loved reading about Camelot and this book puts a whole new spin on the story. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
***I received this book in exchange for an honest review, Lovers of Paranormal.***
I really, really enjoyed this book. I was a fan of the first book, but in this book Sandra Bischoff definitely stepped up her game.
That plot was just SUPER fancsinating. Bischoff took one of the most popular stories in history "Camelot" and surrounded her plot around it. I've always loved the stories of King Arthur and Sir Lancelot and Sir Galahad but when you throw Lance "Christian" into the mix, things definitely got two times more interesting!
Lance has become my favorite character. He was funny, charismatic and has a great heart...and now after this book, is also a hero.
Lady Elizabeth Payne was his perfect match. Their chemistry was addicting.
My heart broke when he finally faced his challenge and I was horrified at what happened but Bischoff made sure everything worked out in the end perfectly.
Those last couple of pages when they were back home were perfect and I found myself rereading that section a second time shortly after I finished the book, just to recreate those scenes again.
Wow, just wow. This book ramped up in a big way. Lance without a doubt is a hunkasaurus, and his background story is ahmazing. Meeting Elizabeth was a joy also, what a strong woman, she faces everything without a big show of fear. Camelot, King Arthur, Lancelot, sigh , sigh , sigh. Sandra Bischoff has grabbed my heart and she has it hostage. The first book was good, this book even better! This story is well written and holds enough history to fascinate the reader. The imaginings of this time period are always without a doubt some of the finest ever. Magic, battles, knights, ladies, the whole thing is wonderful. Oh the wonders that lay in store, and Sandra makes it as believable as it can be. I highly recommend this book to paranormal fans, it has a touch of vampires, shifters, magicians and others. Please do not hesitate to get this book, it just plain is good!

I was given this book in return for an honest review, Lovers of Paranormal.
I didn't start this book straight away as I wanted to write my review for the first book beforehand incase I got the plots mixed up......not a chance! Oh my word! I couldn't put the book down, it had me gripped from the first page! I am just sad that it has finished.
This story followed Lance as he was sent back to Camelot and King Arthur, without giving anything away it is everything I enjoy in a book, a decent plot with lots of twists and turns, some romance and plenty of intrigue! If you think you have worked out who to trust and what will happen, think again!
I was given an ARC of this book so that I can review it. I was never into paranormal until I read the Twilight Series. Now I'm open to it. I read the first book, Beyond the Sun, and couldn't wait for more. And here it is! I'm not a big fan of books where you go back in time, and avoid reading them, but that wasn't the case with the book! I loved it! There was love, sex, humor, mystery, adventure, and history all wrapped into one book. It was funny how the people in the past didn't understand the phrases from the future. I don't want to give any information about the plot or what happens because I don't want to spoil anything by accident. I will be patiently waiting for Book #3.
***I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the Author and the “Lovers of Paranormal” Group on Goodreads.com***
Not as good as the first but still a really good one. Lance didn't catch me that much like Jared and Beth lacked a little Alex's strength. I loved that Lance has to go back in time to be trained by his father to become a reliable "knight" on Jared's side. I enjoyed how he brought his 21st century into the past and the reaction of the people. And thank god for the ending. I'm not spoiling it by telling. But boy, oh boy...
Book 2 had a completely different feel than book 1, to me anyway.
This book was set in the past with flashes to modern times, most of the book, set in the times of the knights of the round table.
I found this one a little more difficult to follow due to it not being my normal genre. I kept forgetting it was set in Arthur's time, but overall the characters development, the plot and secondary characters were well written.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE PARANORMAL AND PARANORMAL ROMANCE
I love Lance and fell into his story. They way he interacted with his family, and learned more about them was like a flashback to me dealing with my step-brothers years ago. Not always pretty, but rough and ready to go at a moments notice. I enjoyed learning more about Lance and how he came to be the man he is. And for him to learn how to protect Jared from none other than Lancelot is icing on the cake.
Great character interaction, and an emotional storyline that just sucks you right in.
I would like to thank the author for giving me this book for an honest review. I loved this story. This book is about Jared's best friend Lance. He is a great character and easily one of my favorites. I love the verbal smalltalk between Lance and Z. The time travel is great for Lance since he gets to train to protect Jared from the best Sir Lancelot. The characters are very well written and the storyline is great. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Loved how the book took us to Camelot. Loved the book Lance is witty, snarky, loveable and sarcastic. He travels to the Days of of round table to finish his training. If this training doesn't kill him it will definitely make him stronger. While in Camelot he not only honed his skill he found family, love and himself. I really loved this book, and Lance is awesome!
Christian is informed that he must become a first in command the future King, his best friend Jared. He has to prove that he will put his life on the line for him. When his training doesn't go as planned he is transported back to where his life began, Camelot. The time travel is what made this story so awesome. Christian not only has to learn to fight to defend his king but he also has to deal with meeting his father, mother and brother. Many emotions will overcome him. He is repeatedly told not to do anything to jeopardize the future of Camelot.
Lady Elizabeth Payne has always had the forest call out to her. She is constantly watched by guards so she can never explore. She is betrothed to another, and this marriage will save Camelot. She wants to marry for love and when Christian arrives onsite she is intrigued. Elizabeth is sheltered and when she learns many secrets that don't seem possible she sees a life outside of the castle. She is a feisty girl who proves to those she can take care of herself.
Christian and Elizabeth go against the future of Camelot and find themselves in love. Can they be together? What will the future bring? Elizabeths's betrothed won't permit this and a long dangerous and tortuous future begins for Christian and Elizabeth.
This story was so intriguing. Not only did we have time travel, but mythical creatures, magic, fight, danger, and love. There may heart breaking moments and heart warming ones also.
I voluntarily read and copy of this book for Nerd Girl Official.
