Lola Kyle Reviews:::: (I was given a free copy of this book by the author in exchange for a normal review) And so the story picks up as I continue to read. After seeing the date stated in the sub heading, my heart is at ease to see the era, that is Camelot, take flight. After the last book, I had my fears. I apologize for my lack of faith dearest Author, you have sated my appetite for the medieval era I craved.
The story mainly focuses on Lance, as he finds himself on a journey of self discovery and learns to prove his worth as a true knight and defender. We do see some of Alex, Jared, Z and Sam, with introductions to new characters, but this one centers around the first born of the First Knight.
I find myself lost for words, a true surprise because I usually cannot stop talking. This heart wrenching tale takes us on a journey through time and into a land only some believe exists. Life is never easy when you are destined to serve and protect a unique king, coupled with the need to walk in the footsteps of a great knight and prove yourself to be just as great (if not a better) man than his father. In my eyes, that makes him even more relatable than Jared. (Sorry to all of you that are gung ho for the dark prince.) Let's face it, we all have that one thing that we all believe we can't live up to, except we haven't mastered it yet.
While reading this book, I can definitely say that tears pooled at the surface, barely contained. I empathized, I rallied and I even held my breath when thinking about the way it looked, a true work of art. A battle fought and won, a love found and lost. Will he lose himself or will he rise up and play the cards that he's been dealt? Read Beyond Time to find out.
