“Because we have no other choice and you know it. We fight them and what? Even if we win there’ll be thousands more at their heels.”
The Nihil are threatening Eriadu and Sevran Tarkin, supported by her allies Lula and Zeen, is trying to figure out a way to take power from her uncle.
I've finally returned to this series after taking a months-long break, quite without meaning to. I don't know what happened, I just ended up forgetting to keep up. But now I'm sick, confined to my bed and bored out of my mind but with just enough strength to look at some pictures, so, it's time to return to comics! This issue was mainly just okay for me because I don't care that much about the Tarkin family, their shenanigans or political rivalries. Sevran is also someone I have no major feelings about. She's just okay.
One thing I did like about this issue was how it approached the Veermok, this legendary beast of Eriadu. Killing one is a sign of prowess and strength and they are seen as super scary and deadly. But, as it often is with SW, something that seems monstrous might not actually be so monstrous at all if you simply get to know it.
I am happy to get off Eriadu in the next issue and return to a planet I really love: Valo!
Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III # 10 | Comic Review
I’m in a weird place reading Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III # 10. It was good, but it just didn’t hook me.
And, I’m fully convinced that it’s the Tarkin of it all. Look, I’m not 100% sure what it is, but I’m struggling to really get into their story.
This feels like a slight detour for The High Republic Adventures when I just really want to focus on the main characters. But, it’s ok. As I said, the story is good, I’m just not getting hooked by it for some reason or another.
I really like Tony Bruno’s art in the book. I really like the way he draws the characters. They really feel like people. The only character interpretation of his that I struggle with is Zeen Mrala. Something about it just doesn’t sit right.
In episode 414 of my favorite Star Wars comic podcast Star Wars Splash Page, they talked about the below panel and how it just exemplifies The High Republic Adventures. I couldn’t agree more. It’s just so… Everything. I love it. It’s perfect.
Digital page 14 of 27 I still liked the book, and I love The High Republic Adventures. For and reason, the Tarkin Family Drama isn’t pulling me in.
