Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures: Echoes of Fear #2 | Comic Review
I’m pleased to say that Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures: Echoes of Fear # 2 successfully builds upon and continues the brilliant story laid out in the first book.
Jedi Reath Silas and Amadeo Azzazzo continue their investigation into the Nameless, this time, digging more into the story of the last time that the known fancy saw legendary Jedi Master Barnabas Vim.
I’m a big fan, boy.
Vim is investigating the Echo Stones that have become instrumental centuries later in potentially solving the threat of the Nihil and the Nameless. We see that he eventually does make it to Planet X that we learned about in Phase III; however, he is lost to time.
I love all of the stories that we’ve gotten so far in the High Republic about Barnabas Vim have been so awesome. He’s a cool character that I hope we eventually get more stories about him and his adventures.
He also looks really cool.
The artwork is, once again, gorgeous. The color work really enhanced a terrific story. I loved how this art was so different from last week’s in the Darth Ravi story but still looked fantastic.
My feelings about this series hasn’t changed after book two. I love everyone and this idea, and everyone involved is doing a terrific job.
So nice to see Barnabas back again. He was a really intriguing character in the one-shot we saw him in previously so it’s nice to have an adventure with him. What a great short story from Mann. I loved it.
I’m loving this series and yes, it’s because we’ve been given more Reath. I think this ties in so well with Tears of the Nameless and its great to see the pieces of Planet X and the Nameless’ origins dashing into place.
