Cherry Magic continues to give me life! Adachi and Kurosawa are so precious, and I love that they communicate so openly especially now that the magic is gone and they're trying to do a long distance relationship.

Also curious about the family's reaction in the next volume!

This volume was so cute and sweet. I love that Adachi chose to pursue his dreams while also choosing Kurosawa. And Tsuge is so freakin cuuuuuute. Ah, this manga is everything.

There are now rings! The relationship is serious and they are planning a future together, but both have insecurities and society isn't necessarily going to accept their plans. It is, however, reassuring that they manage to talk to each other without the need for any wizardy. This volume is full of tender and domestic scenes counterbalanced with people around them noticing that they are wearing rings but jumping to the wrong conclusions.

The story of Tsuge and Minato is also developing. It is sweet that Tsuge leaves his comfort zone to help Minato thus allowing both himself and their relationship to grow.

This series seems like it is going to be wrapping up soon, so I'm really surprised at how many more volumes there are. I wonder what will come up!

The deed is done, the magic is gone, and the story is somehow even sweeter than ever. As Toyota says, the training wheels on the relationship have been taken off, but Adachi now has the inner strength to want to make things work and to trust that they will. Add in a beautiful moment where he witnesses two older women getting married (to each other) and this is just a big warm hug of a book. It has long surpassed its silly title.

These two are so cute together. Despite the magic being gone Kurosawa and Adachi have persisted in their relationship, and grown together for the better. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two. A wedding maybe or starting a family even?

Still loving this series. Seeing Adechi learn to communicate without his wizard powers was so well done. So is seeing him grow more confident and all the successes with the opening of the new store. Their relationship is adorable.
The secondary relationship had some great moments in this one too. Love the support for his dancing. Hoping there's some conversations coming between the two soon

I love their relationship so much, and I love the steps we tool in this volume. They were a little quick, but I’m so invested in them that I don’t care. I just want more cute scenes between them!

I feel like we really got a good look at Adachi in this volume, and the character growth he has gone through. He definitely took center stage in this volume, and I am all for it!

So incredibly wholesome…but now that they got their HEA, I do wonder how the rest of the series continues, and if it loses steam at some point?

Regardless, I absolutely need to know what’s going to happen with the side romance…Tsugeeeeee my novel writing king. She’s a genius for including a side romance that is even more slowburn than the main. Her mind!!!!

This volume opens up where the other left off, and with Adachi finding out that once you lose your virginity, you also lose your magical powers. So Adachi is no longer a mind reader, but at least we still have Tsuge for those shenanigans.

Adachi decides to accept the transfer. He likes the idea of building something up from scratch. He also recognizes his new positive attitude is thanks to Kurosawa, and he probably wouldn’t be getting this offer, or accepting it, if it wasn’t for him.

Kurosawa asks Adachi if he wants to move in together when he gets back from Nagasaki. He tells him how he wants to spend every minute of every day with him now and forever, and Adachi agrees. Then Adachi makes an offhand comment about that seeming a lot like a proposal, which throws Kurosawa into a panic, as he had imagined a proposal already, and this wasn’t how he'd envisioned it. The next thing we know he’s getting out a ring set, so just like that, they’re engaged. We also find out Kurosawa has other things he’s bought for them hidden in his apartment.

Adachi goes to Nagasaki to open a new store. It’s a lot of work, but he seems to be thriving.

Minato reads one of the romance novels Tsuge wrote. He doesn’t seem to realize the character he likes in the book is modeled after him. Tsuge encourages Minato in his dancing career, as we watch Minato struggle with wondering if he should just give up. At a crucial moment for Minato, he almost does just that when his ride breaks down right before a major audition, but Tsuge sweeps in and saves the day, getting him there just in time. Afterward, when he makes the finals, Minato reflects on all the encouragement and advice Tsuge has given him, which prompts him to ask Tsuge why he is so nice to him. It ends with Tsuge responding that he has an ulterior motive.

REVIEW

Volume 7 has a shocking revelation in store for us! It seems like Adachi has lost his mind reading powers after sleeping with Kurosawa. I was surprised it happened this early in the story! The author's note said that Yuu Toyota was originally planning to end the story at this point, but decided to keep going. Adachi and Kurosawa still have to navigate their relationship, this time without the help of any magic powers. I liked how the story emphasized that the mind reading might have helped them get together, but wasn't what made them fall for each other. The feelings blossomed before Adachi even turned 30 and now he's ready to navigate his relationship with Kurosawa by communicating honestly.

It's tough that they're doing long-distance now, but are trying to make the most of it. Adachi still feels lost, but is trying his best to support the new store opening. Feeling a bit like an imposter is so relatable, though he always underestimates his own calm and kind nature. The romance is moving a bit fast, though it's not surprising given how intense Kurosawa has always been. I'm definitely looking forward to the next volumes! We still have Tsuge's love story and now it seems like Adachi's family will also get to know his new boyfriend!

Yup! The magic is gone! Despite this, the story is only getting better. In this one, Adachi started working in the new branch office and they are missing each other. Kurosawa is visiting Adachi and he asks Adachi to move in with him so they will be together forever once he’s done there. Adachi mentions it sounds like a proposal and a Kurosawa freaks out because he wants a do-over since he has planned a more extravagant proposal lol but Adachi told him to cut it out, that he doesn’t need to look cool for Adachi. Kurosawa pulls out engagement rings and Adachi accepts them. The most hilarious part came afterwards. Adachi comments that he’s surprised how well the ring fits, like the pjs in a prior volume, and he jokingly asks if Kurosawa has more things his size and Kuro looks guilty. Adachi demands he show him and Kuro doesn’t want to, but Adachi insists and thankfully, he’s not freaked out that Kuro has boxes of stuff for him, even matching aprons lol so domestic and cute!!

Honestly, their romance is so much better without the magic. Adachi relied on it so heavily that he hurt Kurosawa constantly. At the same time, the magic did serve its purpose to make him more confident and go for it. So, I’m thankful for what the magic accomplished, but I’m glad it’s gone.

As for Tsuge and Minato, Tsuge is trying to get the courage to tell Minato his feelings. Minato had a big audition and he made it thanks to Tsuge getting him there on time. I’m rooting for them!

A Japanese Workplace Romance. We pick up where we left off. It's the night after and Adachi realizes he is no longer a wizard. He can't hear Kurosawa's thoughts. Still, there are no regrets.

I'm shocked, but Adachi takes the transfer. So, they work a long distance relationship. They seem closer than ever and more on the same page as well. There is still such a sweetness here. I think this is my favorite volume so far. These two are just so wonderful together.

The big surprise this volume

Spoilers:

Kurosawa has rings. It's wonderful how they just happened to propose. I love the wedding bands. We can even see them in photos. Adachi goes by a church with a lesbian couple getting married. It makes him so happy and he begins to daydream. That was very sweet.

I can't wait for the next volume. I hope they move in together soon. They need more time together. What will people think once they find out.

This is a fantasy and the Wizard part is the fantasy element. I like this story idea. It's like the world is giving a helping hand to shy people, giving them a chance for love. By 30, if you haven't found someone, then you get this little gift to help you figure out other people and give you confidence to do this. I think it's a pretty cool gift. I know it could be abused. For this story, it's cool. I can only imagine spy agencies would use this once governments found out. Anyway...

Communication! Negotiation! Caretending! Ah, lovely lovely, I am so here for the post-wizardry realization. This is such a great thing of "what happens in the Happily Ever After" without it being that obvious. The reveal of Adachi's powers and the handling of the loss thereof is dealt with much better here than on the show, I think, because it's a little calmer (more time/space and less need for Dramatic Tension, I know). But I'm still so here for them pushing each other to set and keep boundaries, healthy boundaries, like people who intend on being a relationships for longer than a month.

This volume also gives quite a bit of space to Tsuge/Minato, mostly in the form of Supportive!Tsuge helping Minato Do The Thing. It's sweet, and I'm glad for them developing, but I still just don't get that pairing at all. That's on me, I think, because Toyota is doing her level best to present them as an awkwardly adorable pairing spurring each other on to be their best selves.

Adachi has finally lost his magical power of reading minds, courtesy a rather adorable “session” with his handsome boyfriend Kurosawa. And the shy, awkward Adachi is finally learning to express himself and reciprocate Kurosawa’s affection with restrained but heartfelt affection.

As Adachi decides to accept the transfer which will put a massive distance in their budding relationship, the smitten duo will be plagued with the insecurities of being away from each other. Will this career move put a spanner in the works or help them to develop a better understanding and deeper love for each other?

While the main magical premise of this series is over with Adachi losing his mind-reading abilities, it is still endearing to see another phase of the Adachi-Kurosawa equation in a more realistic setting. This pair continues to wring my heart with their earnest, hilarious, and supportive love and I am here for the long haul.
