What if a certain pandemic was cured, not by vaccinations, but by the blood of vampires who we never knew existed until now?
Rae King is a reporter who navigates the chaotic world of tabloid journalism with ease even though she can’t navigate her personal life because of a past that won’t allow her to escape it. She does her best to be a good person, a good friend, and a good daughter most of all. She takes care of her father the same way he took care of her as she grew up without her mother around. Rae would do anything with her father, which is why she’s steered clear of vampires since the world found out they aren’t creatures of myth, but a blaring reality. Her father hates vampires, which is why so many problems arise when she meets the future Guardian of vampire kind, Asa Blackwell.
Asa Blackwell loathes humans. They are the bane of his existence, and he hates that vampires need them as a food source. But that’s what they are, and have been for the past ten years, since humans and vampires signed a treaty that united them by blood.
Asa’s feelings about humans are tested when he meets the gorgeous Rae King. Rae is not like any other human Asa has met, and that’s evident when he starts falling for her from the moment he first lays eyes on her. As much as he tries to fight his attraction to a human, he knows being with one is inevitable since every born vampire must find a human to partner with. Asa knows Rae is his human, and that’s why he’s willing to ignore the protocols of his position, and his duty as Guardian, to get to know the beautiful little human better.
Even while surrounded by tension between two species, judgments from those close to them, and assassination attempts on both their lives, Rae and Asa find a way to defy the odds stacked against them. But will those odds remain in their favor, or will the challenges in both their lives be too much for their love to endure? Blood For Love is the sultry and passionate love story of two souls united by blood whose love is meant to last for all of eternity.
Cute story about the coexistence of humans and vampires. If you love a fast pace, instant romance with some action thrown in there, give this book a try.
Rae had too much personal baggage to try to be in a relationship with anybody. Like she should’ve worked on her relationship with her mother first. Then she should’ve went and sat on that lady couch about.
Asa seems to be a well put together character, but he definitely had flaws. Like he was having an internal battle with falling in love with a human…
There was so much going on in this story lol From work drama from both Asa & Rae, family issues, how can trust who. Did Asa & Rae even had the time to actual fall in love with all the drama?
Lastly, I personally, (this is my opinion), felt like this could’ve been a two part story or longer. With everything that happened, I felt like I didn’t get to really full experience them fall in love frfr. I wanted more moments of them on the beach in Eden… ifykyk.

I had high hopes for this book but i was disappointed. I HATED the ending. And the villains in the story didn’t get a severe enough punishment for the crimes they committed. Honestly, you don’t see the punishment at all for most of them other than 1 on the very last page. Also the main character was kidnapped too many times, at some point I was like rolling me eyes 🙄 like she was literally kidnapped 3-4 times, it got old after the 2nd kidnapping but it just kept happening 😂 overall not the best vamp book, wasn’t impressed.
Surprised I made it to the end! Surprised Asa and Rae are still alive by the end! Surprised at the amount of excepted trauma! Derek was a pedophile, allowed to get away with his crimes way too long. Allowing Cedric to take her from Asa and take her blood was rape in another form.and it definitely made Asa appear weak and powerless. I really don’t know how these two characters even live through this story of “only the strong survive”, and never trust anyone! 😰
I had this book on my TBR for the last two month and I liked the story. Rae and Asa were interesting characters and I enjoyed the way their relationship developed in this book. I would love to read a book about the Faes that was mentioned in this book because I feel like I would like some additional background on them.
Asa and Rae, how the two become one? Two different worlds combined into one. How do we coexist? The adventure this author will take you on. You will experience all different types of relationships in this book. Romantic, friendship, work, parental
This was a great read and really good if you are new to paranormal/ fantasy or just getting back into it. Blake does great job of building this world and writing black vampires. Asa and Rae’s love story gave me the feels and I can’t wait for book 2. Or that thanksgiving / Xmas novella we talked about🤣🤣🤣 great job sis
For the ten-year anniversary celebration of the Life Initiative, Rae King is stuck covering fashion for vampire-owned Central News during the month of events. This is until tragedy strikes the ruling vampire family and Rae finally gets the assignment of a lifetime. Problem is, it will put her into constant contact with the impending Guardian, Asa Blackwell, notoriously known for hating humans.
As next in line to be Guardian of the vampires, Asa Blackwell must have a human partner before he can ascend. He thought he’d have more time to choose a mate but suddenly his time is up. The search for a mate wouldn’t be so detestable if he didn’t loathe humans so much. Until he meets Rae that is. Rae is like no other woman he has ever known, human or vampire. His heart and soul chooses her immediately. But he must wait for her to catch up and trust him as much as he trusts her, a human woman with a vampire-hating father. Not to mention, he’s having difficulty finding the words to tell her how he feels as it’s so unprecedented for him.
Rae is an ambitious people-pleaser with abandonment issues but she’s also a fighter and loyal with the strength of her convictions to guide her in her career and personal life.
Asa is a duty-bound leader with the burden of his entire race weighing down his broad strong shoulders while the Life Initiative his father was so proud to help enact, hangs in the balance.
Rae and Asa are a well-matched couple with an array of family and friends that make me look forward to more stories set in this world, especially any featuring Asa’s numerous siblings.
This is a well-written and spicy vampire romance. The world-building is promising and functional enough to drive the fast-paced story full of interesting twists and turns and suspense and intrigue where treachery abounds. And the love scenes? Hot and sensual.
If spicy urban fantasy romance featuring age gap (hello, vampire!), he falls first, forced proximity, slow-burn, and found family are your jam, you’ll enjoy this quick read.
The best way I can sum up my feelings after reading “Blood for Love” is “meh🤷🏾♀️”. I was 100% into it in the beginning but about halfway through, I was kinda over it and by the end, I just wanted to finish it since I got so far.
I think I would’ve been more into Asa and Rae’s story if Blake Moore kept going the reality show route. It would’ve been more interesting to me if Asa fell in love with Rae while “dating” these other women, which technically did happen but it would’ve been a cute story for the entire book. Instead, we get a taste of that in the beginning and then a cat and mouse game of who is trying to take over Guardian.
And girl I can’t even explain what the takeover plan was. It was so convoluted and I didn’t care enough to re-read stuff and try to figure it out. I just know that (spoiler-free) someone wanted to do something to somebody because they wanted control and there was hella deception and then regret amongst those who participated.
The beginning half of the book spends *a lot* of time establishing the relationships in Rae’s life and the dynamic between her and Asa. I feel like that took a backseat somewhere in the latter part of the book. Like the plot became more so about the rebellion/takeover.
Now, I’m not saying don’t read this book but what I am saying is be prepared for very little time with Asa and Rae as a couple and for a pretty complicated takeover plan with a pretty abrupt end to it when the Big Bad decides to make a final appearance.
Blood for Love is a sexy and compelling dual-POV vampire romance with an intriguing plot and well-drawn characters.
Rae Harper King is a 29-year-old news reporter who grew up as an only child in a single-parent household, raised to believe that vampires were not kind despite their efforts to help the human race. One thing I like about Rae is that she doesn't let the opinions of others affect her own. Her father on the other hand is a piece of work and I'm a leave it at that.
Asa Blackwell is a 464-year-old vampire who despises humans. He's the oldest of seven children and the next in line to be Guardian. It took a couple of chapters for me to like Asa because of his distaste but once he started to lighten up, he became cool in my book. He's protective and respectable and is big on tradition. If you like books with "Touch Her You Die" vibes, that's in here! oohhh Asa showed out.
The multiple plots in the book are tied together well. There was never a moment where I didn’t know what was going on. The greed, distrust, and audacity…phew! get ready! There are some fade to black scenes but the spice is steamy when Blake stops playing with your feelings.
Overall, I loved the book and I'm going to need a physical copy to add to my trophy bookshelf.
Rae and Asa I’m new to this author, but the story was interesting. It’s set in a world where vampires and humans live together under a fragile peace. Vampires can’t have kids unless they turn a human—female vampires born that way can’t have children, which was an unexpected detail.
The book covers some heavy stuff. Rae had to deal with her neighbor taking advantage of her when she was 15, and she kept it to herself so her parents wouldn’t find out. That part was tough to read.
Asa doesn’t trust humans at all, but slowly starts to show Rae he cares. Their relationship takes time to build.
Overall, it was an okay read. Some parts felt a bit slow, but it had good action. The romance was a slow burn. Although I don’t feel this series enough to read the next in this series.
Spice level: 🌶️🌶️

Rae father was a little bitch. To continue to keep sleeping with his kids mother everytime she's married to someone else. For all of that why the fuck didn't they just stay together? Their both to trifling assholes. That bs about leaving after the vampire took an interest in her and that's why he hates all vampires is so weak. Kian pedophilic ass should of been locked up. Not Rae and even her friends covering for this piece of shit. They talked about her sexual abuse so casually in this book I'm like wtf do they do that at. I actually disliked Rae alot. She was so wishy-washy. I truly understand why Asa felt the way he felt about humans minus Rae. I thought I was going to like this book way more because of the black paranormal but honestly it wasn't that great. The fact that Kian, Jade, Cedric and Isabel are all still alive at the end of this is ridiculous to me. None of them had any real consequences for their heinous crimes.
Asa and Rae love story is one bumpy journey. Main was indeed a pervert the way he.persuaded Rae at an young age that what he wanted her to do was right, he needed more punishment than just being turned. It's sad that the betrayal came.from those close to the royal family all in the name of wanting power. I was hoping to read more about her best friend and Sebastian I think they would make a great couple as well as back up for the Guardian and his wife. So happy Rae dude stay mad at Asa too long because if he hadn't done what he did she may have died.
I really enjoyed Asa and Rae's story. It was a sexy story with drama, treachery, passion and some humor. It had so many twists and turns that you didn't know what was going to happen next. Asa and Rae's love was tested in the human world and the vampire world but their love overcame all of the obstacles that they faced. This is the third paranormal book that I've read by this author and they keep getting better and better. I'm hoping Asa's brothers will get their own story as well.
Vampire romance really is not my thing but one of my favorite authors wrote about it so I’m giving it a try. Now this is my first book by this author but ooh, it definitely won’t be my last. OMG this book was so freaking good. I won’t spoil it for anyone but I laughed so hard and it brought out so many emotions and twists. A truly enjoyable read.
OMG this book from beginning to end was a great read. I finished this book in two days and at the end it was definitely worth the sleepless nights. I was so happy that the FMC came into herself and spoke up for herself instead of being a people pleaser.
I loved this boookkkk! It wasn’t like a normal vampire which I loved most. Asa was not checking for any human because he felt they were always throwing themselves at him or playing harmful games until he met Rae 🥰. It always the girl that is completely herself that gets the man. Their love was just comfortable and adorable.
The book started out a little too slow for me, but then it got really good. I loved the character development and how the storylines progressed. However, after Rae gets taken for the 2nd time, the story gets rushed. All of the build up from the beginning just to be rushed towards the end was disappointing.
This wasn’t a short read and I’m so thankful for that. It had character development and nice plot. I definitely think this one is worth the read. I enjoyed the story 💜
My first ever vampire read and I am very much in love. Asa and Rae 😍 their love story was so authentic and so good. It was full of passion and drama but it wasn’t enough to stop them from loving. The plots are well drawn out and as well as each character’s storyline. I really enjoyed this romance!
I happened to stubble across this book and it was the best fall ever! Interesting story and world, intriguing 'whodonit' mystery with paranormal twist and spice. Can't wait to read more from Blake Moore.
Asa oozed dominance, was not playing when it came to Rae. He was willing to kill and fight if anybody messed with her. Loved the plot twists, definitely was a page turner.
