Meet Me in Ivy Falls
Torran Wright needs to catch a break. Torran & Beck (love the unusual names)
Torran and her business partner, Manny, have a home renovation business that focuses on restoring the legacy of old homes. She has her eye on a home on Huckleberry Lane and is super mad when she's outbid at the auction. The anger rises when she learns the man who bought it is the one that broke her teenage heart 10 years ago, Beck.
Beck wasn't planning on buying his childhood home, but gets swept up in the thought that bringing his sister, Piper, back to Ivy Falls will help her struggles with alcohol and drug addiction. Beck feels responsible for his parents untimely death and has made it his mission to over~protectively take care of his 24 year old sister. While I can appreciate how he felt Piper was his responsibility, I just feel like that took up too much of the story and took away from him and Torran finding their way back to each other seamlessly.
Torran has a wonderful relationship with her sister, Tessa, her 2 nieces, and business partner, Manny, but a rocky one with her father. While she's a very successful businesswoman, she does come off as immature and stuck in the past at times. I wish she would've gotten out of the tunnel a lot sooner than she did. Beck was frustrating to me, as well. Don't even get me started on the 3rd act break up.
Overall, as far as second chances goes this one fits the bill. I enjoyed the introduction of the small town of Ivy Falls. I'm pretty sure I know who book 2 will be about and I'm all for it, so fingers crossed it's who I hope it is and I don't have to wait too long for it.

Abby Jimenez meets Gilmore Girls in this sweet yet raw small town romance.
Both of our main characters are working through unresolved trauma. Torren Wright prefers to redirect her hurt into her home renovation projects, and place blame for her anger and hurt toward her father, the Mayor of Ivy Falls who was nowhere to be found during a life shattering loss. Her ex and first love Beck Townsend, on the other hand, tries to run from his problems only to face the harsh reality that you can't flee; the only way out is through. Through home renovations, a couple roadblocks, and a tension that never faded, Beck and Torren rekindle in a non linear, believable way.
I feel like the burn was a little too quick and did not include the buildup and close encounters I was looking for. They basically went from frenemies to lovers in 10 minutes. This could have easily been pushed out to build up some more tension.
Overall, I'd say pick this one up. TWs include: alcohol abuse, near death from drugs and alcohol, cancer, and loss of parent(s)

this book is pure magic. i cannot WAIT to read the rest of the books in this series. the beautiful town of Ivy Falls is the perfect backdrop for Torran and Beck’s second chance love story. couldn’t put it down

Meet Me in Ivy Falls is the perfect blend of a story that has you constantly saying “just one more chapter” while also making you want to curl up with your favorite blanket and a cup of tea. This book addresses and raises awareness for important and complicated topics such as grief, addiction, and parent-child relationships. If anything, this book will make you feel seen.

I can officially say I have been sucked into the world of Ivy Falls and I never want to leave! Amy True did an amazing job of making any reader fall madly in love with this little Tennessee town.
Our main characters Torran, a tough, no nonsense restorer who is trying to save her beautiful home town and all of its historic buildings, and Beck, her childhood sweetheart with so many tragedies following him, who returns after 10 years and multiple heartbreaks later, including Torran’s. They are both dealing with their own losses and grief & through each of their POVs we truly understand these complex characters who still have a lot of love for each other, even if they may not want to admit it.
The setting itself feels like its own character and leaves you wanting to explore every single part. Guess it’s a good thing this is the first book in the Ivy Falls series! I cannot wait to see what comes next for the people of Ivy Falls.

I didn’t know what I would think about this book when I first started, but it won me over. I loved the history behind the town, and it made me feel like I was actually apart of Ivy Falls. This book is such a good, quick read, and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Torran has been doing her best to restore the homes in Ivy Falls. One slip of her tongue caused such a disaster that her company may never recover. She’s hoping that if she gets the winning bid on her dream home, it will fix everything.
This was such a good book! I loved it! It’s fast moving, has family drama and second chance romance. It’s a good start to a new series. I can’t wait to read the next one!

At first, the book seemed slow, but it quickly picked up pace. The author did a great job of depicting Torran and Beck's desire for each other. I like how they try to resolve their past issues, even though it's not going smoothly. I didn't expect something to happen between them so soon, already halfway through the book. Because of that, I was anxious, expecting something bad to happen. I was completely absorbed in that part and didn't notice anything around me. The characters develop excellently throughout the book.It was helpful that the book was written in dual POV, it makes it easier to understand how and why they did something and how they think. I recommend you read it, as it has a bit of everything. It's a very sweet second chance book, even a third chance—you'll see why.

This book was cute and easy read! I loved the small town vibes and seeing the town forgive and embrace Torran and Beck. Beck was clearly torn up about being back in Ivy Falls, and Torran was the perfect catalyst to bringing him back and keeping him in town. Her sister and Manny were the perfect side characters that added to the romance and small town vibes. Beck’s sister’s story was also an intriguing one that I kept wondering about throughout the book. I loved the family support throughout the book - Torran and her sister, Beck and his sister, Manny and his daughter. I would recommend this book for an enjoyable summer read! This book did good for my southern heart. From my small town upbringing to living in big(ger) cities in my adult life, I often feel homesick… as I have the past few weeks. I found this book at just the right moment, and I’m so glad I got to live in Ivy Falls for a few days. My hometown, and another small town with childhood memories galore, even got their own shoutouts, coincidentally! An added bonus for sure.
The writing was brilliant. This book had my heart beating fast in excitement in one second and dropping out of my body in the next. Definitely pick this one up.

This book was so nostalgic and wholesome. I’m a sucker for a second-chance romance! I loved Torran and Beck’s story and getting to “live” in Ivy Falls for a few days, and had so much fun reading this book.

Oh, I do love a small-town romance and this one really was wonderful, before I knew it I had well and truly been sucked in to this second chance love story and it was perfect!
Both of the main characters were down-to-earth and real and i thoroughly enjoyed becoming immersed in their story.
This was such an easy book to read and each chapter easily pushed me along to the next one and before i knew it i had devoured it all…….

This was….boring? Yeah, I struggled with this one. I KNOWWW I said I was DNFing it and then a day later I picked it up again - I just cannot leave books unfinished! I guess I’m not into the small town romance books even though I did enjoy ‘Practice makes perfect’. I think this is a good poolside read, but if you’re looking for a good plot then this book is not it. Not a fan of how descriptive the characters dialogue seems to be? Like they describe things in their speech? ‘I remember opening the shiny foil wrapper’ like who says that??

Perfect small town vibes, great side characters, and a town with such a big heart! I loved this story and it was even more fun getting to read it in the small idyllic town of Great Barrington, MA. I thoroughly enjoyed Beck and Torran’s rekindled connection, and I found myself drawn to the compelling side characters, and even wanting to read more about the adorable house itself. Beyond the love story, this book explores deep themes of grief, loss of a parent, and addiction that was really moving. I am very very excited for Tessa's story and to step back into Ivy Falls soon!

I love that the Chapter titles are incorporated in to that chapter. I always love looking for it within the story! It’s like a fun little game of hide and seek within the book!
There were a couple times in the book that a conversation felt a little forced and random and didn’t flow as smoothly as the rest.
I was happy to see both Beck and Torran get past their own emotional trauma and issues and come to realize their mistakes not just with each other but with everyone in their lives. I was afraid they wouldn’t be a good match with their issues and would be a toxic couple but I was pleased and satisfied with the ending!
I will definitely be recommending this book to others looking for a light easy book to read.

I have really enjoyed this book, intially after the first chapter I was unsure I left it a couple of days then was hooked picking it up and not being able to put it down. I really enjoyed how both Torran and Beck's sides of the story were voiced and how they saw things. Just shows how our own misconceptions can lead to misunderstandings that often aren't even there and can lead to fractured relationships that need alot to be repaired. Such a great read will be looking out for more titles by this author.

A second-chance romance in a small town set in the southern United States. Wonderful chemistry and prolonged grief make for an interesting read that doesn't seem too far fetched.
Torran is a contractor who specializes in restoring her hometown's oldest houses. When the opportunity to restore her long-lost love's old home, she knows she has to be the one to restore it. However, when said love, Beck, returns and buys the house out from under her, her dreams are shattered. Can she work with him to restore the house after everything he put her through? Are their feelings going to get in the way of her success?
Beck wants his parents' old home to honor his parents and hopefully fix his sister's addiction problems. But the project quickly becomes more than he knew he was signing up for and unexpected obstacles appear at every corner. In addition, his feelings for Torran never left and he's willing to put in the work for her dreams in an attempt to win her over. Their relationship is rocky, full of tension, and gut-wrenching at times. But watching the two of them work through their own grief as the work on the house and each other is a real treat.

Torran is a contractor who specializes in restoring her hometown's oldest houses. When the opportunity to restore her long-lost love's old home, she knows she has to be the one to restore it. However, when said love, Beck, returns and buys the house out from under her, her dreams are shattered. Can she work with him to restore the house after everything he put her through? Are their feelings going to get in the way of her success?
Beck wants his parents' old home to honor his parents and hopefully fix his sister's addiction problems. But the project quickly becomes more than he knew he was signing up for and unexpected obstacles appear at every corner. In addition, his feelings for Torran never left and he's willing to put in the work for her dreams in an attempt to win her over. Their relationship is rocky, full of tension, and gut-wrenching at times. But watching the two of them work through their own grief as the work on the house and each other is a real treat.

Amy True introduces readers to the small town of Ivy Falls in the first book of the series. Torran and Beck were childhood sweethearts; life events separated them at the age of 17. Ten years later they reunited back in Ivy Falls and the sparks began flying. But both Torran and Beck experienced loss and grief since they'd last been together. Is their love strong enough to move forward in life together?
The setting immediately reminded me of Gilmore Girls and in the author notes she shared the show was an inspiration! I always enjoy a dual point of view format and in this book both characters were so strong. The supporting characters were all so unique with their own stories, I can easily see how this will become a series. While heavy topics were discussed--trauma, addiction, and loss, the book overall was light and full of hope.

This was a much heavier read than I anticipated, so don’t let the adorable cover fool you! I was hooked from the beginning and loved the small town and nostalgic vibes. I also love home renovation, historic homes, and that the FMC had her own contracting company (because so do I!) so I enjoyed the premise, too. Torran and Beck were childhood sweethearts, but the way they ended caused Torran to despise Beck. So she isn’t too happy when he ends up back in their hometown, and especially the reason for it. I always love a second chance romance, and the chemistry, banter, and tension between them were on point!
This book also gives off major Stars Hollow vibes for all the Gilmore Girls lovers out there 🥰 I’m excited to see what’s next in this series.
