Soul’s Compass: An Awakening Odyssey Beyond Earth

Rate this book
In Soul's An Awakening Odyssey Beyond Earth, the author's transformative experience in Scotland catalyzes a profound spiritual and existential journey. Transitioning from staunch atheism to embracing spiritual mysteries, this journey begins with the involuntary phrase of twenty-four enigmatic words, leading to an immediate collapse on the bed, and then his soul leaves his body and visits the spirit realm for a transcendent experience. The narrative vividly charts this dramatic shift, offering a candid look at the path to reconcile scientific evidence with mystical experiences, sparking deep introspection into the nature of existence, consciousness, love, and reality itself.

The account delves into extraordinary and harrowing circumstances, including multiple stays in mental hospitals across continents and profound understandings about reality. Despite these tumultuous events and moments of profound isolation, the journey leads to transcendent and revelatory states. Moments of incredible insight and beauty illuminate the true nature of the soul and our purpose, highlighting the interconnectedness of the universe in a fresh, enlightening light.

Soul's Compass navigates this extraordinary transformation with openness and humor, along with ample references from the ancient to the modern. This blend of sincerity, curiosity, and levity renders the book a compelling testimony to the resilience of the human spirit. It stands as an illuminating beacon for those navigating their own existential inquiries, offering both laughter and profound insights for readers daring to confront the vastness of their beliefs and the cosmos with an open heart and mind.

Trey Ratcliff is an artist on a somewhat quixotic mission to help spread consciousness and mindfulness to the world through photography and creativity. Running the #1 travel
photography blog in the world, StuckInCustoms.com, has taken him to all seven continents over the past decade. Google has tracked more than 140 billion views of his photos, all while he’s been building a social media presence with over 5 million (170K on Instagram).

Chris Anderson, curator of the TED conference, called Ratcliff a “pioneer" of the now ubiquitous genre of high-dynamic-range photography. Ratcliff’s photograph, Fourth on Lake Austin, was the first HDR photograph to hang in the Smithsonian Museum. Subsequently, sales of his large-format, limited edition prints to fine art collectors worldwide have grown into a multimillion-dollar business. In 2012, Ratcliff moved his photography business to Queenstown, New Zealand (before it became a trendy doomsday contingency plan). He lives there with his wife, three children, and their dog, Blueberry.

Incredibly immersive, reality-altering, mind bending story where Trey very lovingly weaves you into this world beyond what we often believe to be true. Can feel very familiar for many who have once believed in simply a 4d space time where our own worlds and lives on this planet are all there is to it to being shown a more expansive truth to everything ✨
Very truthful and relatable experiences that come alongside this as it’s not always easily accepted by the people around you which can be hard to navigate but everything always happens exactly as is needed to happen 😌
Anyway it’s a really fun read but also educational and a nice break from traditional rules to story telling.

Thought provoking, tear jerking, lightly psychoticly written, emotional roller coaster, overtly honest, yadda yadda yadda

But thank you Trey for writing this. I think it’s really important. Excited for part 2 😉

A life-changing experience for the author and this reader. In turns harrowing and hilarious, heartbreaking and heart expanding, vulnerable and strong, we are taken on a profound journey that crisscrosses the globe alongside one sweet soul finding himself and his purpose in this life. Beautifully written, thought provoking, and so fascinating that it was hard for me to put this book down.
