In "Ignited on the Fourth," plus-size beauty Mila Sutton has transformed her life into the fairytale she always dreamed of, much like the romance novels she adores. With a thriving career and a loving circle of friends, the only thing missing is her soulmate.
Mila's journey is full of unexpected twists and turns, teaching her that true love often appears in the most unforeseen places and at the most unexpected times. As the chapters of her life unfold, Mila must navigate the complexities of her emotions and relationships. Will she sabotage her dreams and relationships, or will she fight for the love and life she deserves?
Meanwhile, accomplished businessman JaCaryous “Bleu” Patrick returns to Cadence Hills, focused on his career and success. As he reconnects with his roots, Bleu must decide whether to embrace life's surprises or risk missing out on a love that could change his life forever.
"Ignited on the Fourth" is a heartwarming tale of self-discovery, resilience, and the power of love to transform lives.
I'm so glad that Bleu arrived in Cadence and into Mila's life, getting her to see beyond her own eyes. She wants what she wants while simultaneously letting her past and medical situation keep her from love. Bleu is relentless in his chase and knows without a doubt that Mila is his future. But truly getting her on board is a hard task. I enjoyed reading this story because it displays love, friendship, sisterhood, and brotherhood on many levels. There's dancing, strolling, laughing, and a really good time is had. I can't wait to read more about these characters. Even Whyte and Cara, what will they do? This is an awesome debut book and I do recommend it.
Bleu is my kinda book Bae! Fine AF and not afraid to claim what's his. He didn't come to play. And Mila deserved all the beautifulness of this man and life ❤️
The way that Bleu came, put his feet down, layer his cards out, stood on business!!!! Baby! Mimi didn’t stand a chance. No amount of pushback would have stopped this man from his goals! I love that! But I would have liked for Bleu to slow down a little in his pursuit, his profession and aggression to his frats where a little to aggressive to quick. Other than that, great book, the way Ms. James wrote, gave “Poetic justice” or “Love jones” with a hint of unhinged.
Cadence. Exactly! A smooth cadence in the prose. An exciting piece for sure! I look forward to more from Ms. James and her pen squad! Juri Hines, MK Seven, Elle Robs... Yezzzz!!! Bring it yall!
Oh my goodness this was so damn good. For this man to yearn for Mila, to know she was his and to pursue her with so much pressure despite everything she was going through baby I was not ready.
Majority of the book features Mila's journey which was amazing to see. That journey included seeing relatable moments of doubt, but I so wanted Mila to trust in Bleu. He pretty much had the seal approval of her inner circle, her found family. So whyyy. That's rhetorical because I understood Mila needed to work through things before she was fully ready to see what others have long ago witnessed.
