Rate this book
A woman scorned. A man betrayed . When their paths collide, can love save the day, or be their downfall?

Thalia Renier had lost her head. That was the only possible explanation for the reformist lady’s involvement with the Murderous Marquess. William Radcliffe, the Marquess of Ashford is a man haunted by betrayal. For years, the widower marquess has spurned London’s polite society, taking refuge in the sun-soaked hills of Tuscany to pursue his true passion—sculpting. When Thalia discovers his cold exterior hides an artist's soul, falling for him is inevitable, but overcoming her own insecurities to trust his love will prove her biggest challenge. Can Ashford let go of his bitter past to embrace his love for Thalia, or will he let old ghosts destroy their future?

Should I read in order?
I believe this is a standalone.

Basic plot:
An eloping couple on the run brings Thalia and the Murderous Marquess together.

Give this a try if you want:
- Victorian – 1867
- Marquess hero
- teaming up – the hero and heroine work together to find the heroine’s sister and hero’s brother who have run away together to elope
- sculptor hero
- size difference – heroine is tall but hero ‘dwarfs’ her
- widow heroine
- widower hero
- plus size heroine
- hero has a sweet tooth and feeds the heroine dessert
- well-endowed hero
- surprise virgin
- you’re okay with a bit of a possessive hero that can be a tad jerky
- higher steam – 4 full scenes within a shorter page count

Ages:
- hero is 42, didn’t see heroine mentioned

First line:
“What do you mean Artemis has eloped?” Lady Thalia Renier’s shocked exclamation reverberated throughout the cavernous drawing room of her father’s London townhouse.

My thoughts:
Oh I loved this novel! I have tried a few by Glen, but I think this one is my favorite.

I loved the working toward a goal that Thalia and William had in the beginning. There’s a bit of instalust at play here (short novel) and I loved them being together on a road trip (especially on a train!). William can definitely be a bit of a jerk towards the end – Glen can write heroes that kind of need a slap upside the head, you know? 😆 But the heroine’s in her books hold them accountable and Thalia was no different. She takes him immediately to task and stands up for herself and I enjoyed William having to realize his wrongs.

I also liked that there was more details about Thalia’s body image and how she is a touch self conscious. It wasn’t overdone at all - but I have read quite a few ‘full figured’ historical romance heroines and in so many of them it’s only a quick mention here or there and it’s very easy to forget there’s any body diversity in the character. So I really loved that aspect to it.

If you don’t mind a bit of insta-lust (which really two widowers would surely feel having gone “without”), nothing beats a virile alpha-hole who finds himself ridiculously attracted to the mysterious woman who shows up on his doorstep. I love it when a hero sees the heroine’s attractiveness long before anyone else ever does, regardless of her attempting to hide herself. And as a sculptor, Liam sees Talia as a precious gemstone just begging to be polished and shined. Talia easily falls for Liam’s praise and generosity, two things she has never before experienced at the hands of a male, and these two quickly jump into a dalliance as they travel northbound. As with any collector, Liam attempts to hold Talia a little too closely and I was glad to see that she wouldn’t accept his ultimatum. A strong-willed heroine is the best foil to a man used to getting what he wants.

Read this if you enjoy:
✍️ a hero who worships the heroine’s body,
✍️ straightforward MCs,
✍️ forced proximity, and
✍️ a heroine who gets a glow up from learning about the power of her feminine sexuality.

This is a pretty new author for me. This is my 5th book by her. Lavinia was in one of my steamy FB take over groups and who books seemed interesting so though I'd check her out and I’m so glad I did. I have enjoyed her writing and of the 5 books of hers I have read, I already have 3 on my favorite reads list. Including this one!

OMG I loved Thalia and Liam. I loved their personalities and their chemistry. I loved how they met and spent their time together. Sex was super hot. I couldn’t put it down. I loved this story so much, I finished it in a few hours and am adding it to my favorite reads for August. I could tell I was getting to the end and in my head I was thinking, Oh, No! It’s too soon. I want more. Then I saw she had an extended epilogue. YAY! Always love those.

This was my first experience with Lavinia Glen, and it will not be my last. I really enjoyed this novella. It is a shorter page count, so it’s very instalust/instalove. I loved how Thalia stood up for herself and wouldn’t let Liam dictate to her, as well as the way Liam realized he was in the wrong and made the effort to win Thalia back.

I thought Glen did a great job with Thalia’s body image issues. So many times when a heroine is supposed to be “curvy” there might be one mention of it on page. Here, Glen references it multiple times without overdoing it. It was beautiful to see Thalia come into her own a bit with Liam’s encouragement.

This novella is steamy, particularly for the shorter page count, and Glen makes a point to emphasize both consent and protection. Liam has a bit of a praise kink and he absolutely worships Thalia’s body.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novella, and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.

Thanks to BookSprout for a copy of this novella and this is my freely given opinion.

This is part of a new series called Cravats and Curves and I may be a bit biased, being short and robustly curvy myself. But I love the concept of this series and am looking forward to each book that will be coming out as part of this!

This is the first one of the series I have read, and I really loved it. It can be read independent of other of Lavinia Glen's books, but has some parallel connections to her Forge Alliances series. Thalia Renier is a widow whose dead husband abused and derided her for her lack of attractiveness. She was left with a terrible taste for marriage and when she finds out that her beloved sister has eloped with a noted rake, Thalia is desperate to stop her from suffering the same fate that Thalia did in her marriage.

To find the couple, she forces her way into the home of the miscreant bridegroom, who is the younger brother of the notorious Marquess of Ashford, also known as the Murderous Marquess, implicated years before by scandalmongers as being responsible for the death of his wife, especially as he left shortly to travel on the Continent. The Marquess, William Radcliffe, also suffered from a terrible marriage, and had made plans to travel to Italy to study his passion, art and sculpture, even before the scandalous death of his wife. Despite being innocent, he tried and judged by Society, with much speculation and gossip spread through gossip rags and caricatures, casting him in the role of murderer. He has only recently returned to London.

When Thalia invades his home, he is struck by her beauty and finds his Muse to inspire his art; and his passion for the first time in a long time.

When they decide to chase after the eloping couple themselves, they find their attraction to each other growing, and engage in a torrid affair. But because of their pasts, there is a serious misunderstanding, leading to mistrust and miscommunication, causing mutual heartbreak.

Steamy, passionate Victorian romance short story, with two people with cracked hearts and trust issues finding passion, and healing hearts with each other. I loved this story and just wish it was a full novel rather than a short story.

Really looking forward to more from this series, and this author in particular.

This is my first book by this author and what an incredible story! And it deserves a 10 star!

Both characters are widows, they are both want to stop a marriage between their siblings.

Once they go on the adventure to find their siblings, they find the sparks of passion flying between them and that they can open up to each other about things they haven't even told their siblings. And they can simply be in each other's company without having to speak.

The chemistry between the two main characters is undeniable and you feel the connection between them from the beginning.

I enjoyed everything about this book and I plan to read more from this author.

I received this book from the author as an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest voluntary review and this is purely based upon my own personal opinion and that of no one else.

William, known as the Murderous Marquess, has been persecuted by whispers of his first wife's untimely demise, while Thalia, a widow, has endured a loveless marriage filled with infidelity. An unlikely alliance is forged as the duo sets out to track down Thalia's sister and William's brother, who have eloped. An uneasy attraction is sparked that quickly evolves into something more profound. These emotionally damaged main characters find solace in each other's company, fueled by their smoking hot chemistry. Despite his ostracized status, William sees past society's superficial standards and genuinely appreciates Thalia just the way she is – self-conscious of her body, she discovers an unexpected source of acceptance.

William and Thalia battled with their haunting pasts, fearing that opening their hearts to love would lead to further pain and disappointment. However, as they grew closer, these apprehensions started to melt away. William, a man driven by a strong desire for control, struggled to relinquish it within their relationship. Yet, Thalia's unwavering strength and determination refused to settle for a life devoid of her own autonomy. Eventually, William realized the beauty in compromise and accepted that both partners should have an equal say. This newfound understanding unearthed buried fears within them both, yet in each other's arms, they found healing. Together, they embarked on a journey of trust, slowly mending the wounds of their pasts.

In a world that often prioritizes perfection it is refreshing to come across a story that celebrates the beauty of accepting and loving yourself. Through the skilled penmanship of Lavinia Glen, readers are transported to a place where love, redemption, and the power of forgiveness collide. Their unconventional love story is an ode to the complexities of human emotions and the undeniable attraction that transcends societal norms. It serves as a reminder that true beauty lies not in physical appearances but in the genuine connections we form with one another. This story delicately explores the vulnerabilities and insecurities we all possess, reminding us to embrace our flaws and find comfort in the acceptance offered by those who truly appreciate us for who we are. Prepare to be swept away as “The Marquess and His Muse” effortlessly captivates your heart and mind!

First off this is part of a novella project called Curves and Cravats and highlights “curvy” or plus size heroines. And as a curvy sometimes plus size reader I love this concept so thank you to whomever pulled all the authors involved !!
I also like the fact that so far all of the novellas are available on Kindle Unlimited for those that subscribe.
Now for my review of Ms Glenn’s contribution: The Marquess and His Muse.
This was a delightful sexy novella and with most steamy novellas you have to like instalust as the author really needs to get there fast and this novella doesn’t disappoint. But there is still room for a nice love story. Thalia (god, I love that name) is a widow and her marriage sucked. It also sounds like when she was having her “seasons” she was over looked by the men of the ton because they only saw her as a frumpy overweight woman and all this has lead to some serious insecurities and self hate (as far as her body is concerned). But during a rush to keep her younger sister from making an elopement mistake she encounters Liam, the Marquess of Ashford. Liam has his own demons and trauma in his marriage and widowerhood but has been abroad studying sculpture in Italy and has just returned to hear his brother has eloped. Together Thalia and Liam set off to find the young couple. Liam, being an artist sees Thalia’s body not as ugly , but as beautiful curves full of lovely shapes and instant wants to sculpt her (as well as other things). Thalia as a neglected widow is game for a sexual encounter and actually gets a sexual awakening and through the eyes of Liam starts to gain self confidence.
There is a few angsty scenes thrown in to make it interesting. All and all a delightful short read and one that I would have also enjoyed as a full length novel.
I was generously given a ARC by the author for my review.

A Passionate Liaison

An enjoyable book that has a nice plot, road trip and age gap tropes, a few surprises, lots of steam and very likable characters. The chemistry between Liam and Thalia was great from the start and their relationship developed very quickly. I liked how Liam admired Thalia from the beginning and how Thalia developed a new confidence with Liam’s help. Liam was a tad too possessive at times and it was enjoyable to see how Thalia stood up to him and how they opened up to each other. Mimi and Drew too were an endearing couple, I found them reasonable and supportive. It was also nice to meet a few of the characters from previous books by the author.

When the widowed Lady Thalia Renier learns that her sister Mimi has run off with a rake, she wants to prevent the wedding. Having been unhappily married herself, she wants to save her sister from a similar fate. She meets her sister’s fiancé’s older brother, William „Liam“ Radcliffe, Marquess of Ashford, who is rumored to have killed his wife and known as the Murderous Marquess.

Liam is a sculptor who, following the false murder accusations and the rumors among the ton, spent the last few years in Italy to improve his skills. When he learns of his brother Drew's impending wedding, he returns to England to protect his brother from the trap of a scheming debutante.

When Thalia shows up at Liam’s door and tells him that their siblings have eloped, he is immediately smitten by her curvy beauty and wants her to be his muse. Together they set off to pursue the couple and it doesn't take long before they get closer and start a passionate liaison, neither of them being interested in remarrying…

If you like independent, curvy heroines and jaded, dominant heroes in a fast paced and steamy historical romance novella, you are sure to enjoy this book!

Another book in the Curves and Cravats series, I think I like this one the most out of the first three that I've read. This one, though just as short as the others seemed to have more depth in it to me.

Thalia, in a rage and worried, goes to find her sister that ran off to marry a man that she was engaged to. She goes first to his brother's house, the Marquess of Ashford, to find out where his brother is. When the marquess, William/ Liam tells her that he has no idea where his brother is, they find out where the young couple is headed, and both figure they will try to find a way to stop the marriage. Thalia sets off by herself, but at the train station finds the Marquess there. He offers to let her stay with him while they both go to find their siblings, and despite his history, she accepts. On the train the Marquess finds that he feels like Thalia is a muse that he hasn't felt in a long time, but that he also finds her attractive. He sees that she wears clothes that detract from her beauty, but doesn't care. Realizing that they are attracted to each other, they come to an agreement for the night, but it goes longer than they both intend, and even when things take a turn for the worse due to miscommunication, they find a way to get it together

What I liked about this story was that even with the Marquess' past, and his hesitation to admit he loved Thalia and wanted more, he still went out of his way to provide her with things and remind her that she was beautiful. His gentle nature was the opposite of what the town depicted of him. I did wish that he would have listened to her, when he realized that she drew caricatures, but there had to be that moment where he realized he messed up and wanted to marry her. Like I said, my favorite book in the series so far.

After learning that her sister has eloped with a known rakehell, Thalia storms into the Marquess of Ashford's home, demanding to know to where his brother has absconded with her sister. Shocked to learn of his brother's plans, Ashford and Thalia resolve to go after the couple in an attempt to stop the wedding, each having their own reasons for not wanting the young lovers to make a marriage mistake. What ensues is a delightful road trip romance between this virgin widow and the "Murderous Marquess" whose reputation has been entirely falsified.

Ashford is obsessed with Thalia the moment he meets her, immediately declaring her his muse. Without even realizing, he begins to use terms of endearment to refer to her, 'Sweetheart,' 'My Darling,' 'My Angel'. Only his resentment toward his now deceased wife prohibits him from making her his. That doesn't mean they can't engage in a consensual liaison though! Thalia agrees, not wanting to ever lose herself and her rights in a marriage again. These two have crazy chemistry. Ashford absolutely worships Thalia and her curves, while Thalia comes out of her shell to become the assertive, confident woman she's been hiding. The steam between these two is excellent and quite a bit is packed into these short 150 pages.

Unsurprisingly the two catch feelings and a misunderstanding calls their future into question.

If you are looking for a pro-contraceptive consent king, just a dummy completely unaware of his feelings, and a woman who comes into her own and refuses to settle for less than she deserves, then this is a great choice!

4.5/5

The Marquess and His Muse is a standalone historical romance by Lavinia Glen, and is the third book of the multiauthor series Curves and Cravats. The story is set in Victorian era England.

This book is a steamy, yet charming, enemies to lovers type of story which brings together spirited, young widower Lady Thalia Renier, and the scandalous Marquess of Ashford, William Radcliffe. This story also works in an opposites attract type of romance, because while their passionate natures compliment each other, William and Thalia are very different people.

Thalia and William are brought together when Thalia turns up at William's home, looking for her younger sister who has eloped with William's younger brother. William has only just returned to England, after lying low in Italy where he had been able to focus on his passion of being a sculptor. There are sparks at their first meeting, but these sparks are anything but romantic. In fact, they are both ready to stop their respective siblings from making a foolish decision. And I suppose, this is where you can also add forced proximity to the list of tropes this story includes, because the physical closeness leads to conversation and sparks of a more romantic nature as they get to know each other.

Another aspect of the story that I enjoyed was William and Thalia's siblings and their backstory, who are only major players insofar that their spirited romance brings William and Thalia together.

Type of story I was expecting from this series

The Marquess and His Muse is the third book in the multi-author series Curves & Cravats that features curvy heroines. This was another new to me author and it won’t be the last work of hers that I read.

Both Liam and Thalia have been widowed and neither had successful first marriages nor want to marry again. Liam has spent the last five years in Italy perfecting his sculpture skills but also suffers from an undeserved reputation from his first marriage.

I really enjoyed this fast paced story and even with an instalust attraction I felt the MC had a connection and were well developed. I loved that the hero out of his mind over the heroine’s curves and beauty. I enjoyed the artist and muse dynamic as well as the way the author kept the heroines curviness as a main focus. She had vulnerabilities surrounding this but wasn’t define by them and had confidence. However her journey was about embracing the power her figure has and being more comfortable in it intimately. I really liked how she stood her ground and valued herself in the latter half of the book.

I only wished there was more time to explore the resolution for what it took to get there and also thought the switch from being opposed to marriage to wanting to get married was abrupt. With a shorter page count (150 pages) and since the rest of the story was well developed, I only deducted half a star.

This story was hot and steamy with four detailed encounters plus another one from the epilogue available via newsletter signup.

The third installment of the Curves & Cravats anthology is a steamy affair!

Thalia & Liam - while their quest is easily solved, their future is not…

What good is travelling up north in a private train carriage when one cannot indulge in a few fantasies? She’s a widow after all - frumpy, unnoticeable and still as untouched as the day she wed - and he’s the handsomest man she’d ever met. Yes, she’s on a mission to save her sister from ruination and her travel companion is monikered the Murderous Marquess, but… that was just gossip, wasn’t it?
Having to track down his eloping brother was a most unwelcome surprise upon his return to England. Doing so in company of a divine redheaded creature was not. Oh, he wasn’t looking for a new bride, never again, not after what his wife had made him suffer. But this curvaceous beauty - albeit well-hidden by drab dresses - was made to be worshiped! His new muse, and he would conquer her!

This was my first Lavinia Glen and what an enthralling introduction it was!
The story has an interesting dynamic: He’s a silver fox (42) marked by his past, well-chiseled solid granite on the outside and a passionate sculptor in private. She’s in her late-twenties, an ugly duckling who’s marriage and charity work killed her naivety. So two mature adults who know exactly what they want. Or do they?
It’s lust at first sight for the both of them - delicious naughty fun, no strings attached, and lots of it!
She goes all mush for this man, and he expertly moulds her like the clay he uses for his sculptures - those delectable hands [swoony sigh]. He showers her with attention and gifts, but he also becomes rather possessive and controlling, and I love, love, LOVE the way she straightens her spine of steel when he gives her an ultimatum! I think it’s brilliant!
Heartbreaking, but brilliant, and it works… he comes grovelling back!

If there’s one thing Lavinia Glen can do, it’s write a fiery scene. Liam and Thalia are two people who can’t resist one another, and when they’re together, I could feel my temperature rising. The Marquess and His Muse sells their connection beautifully.

There are a lot of grand elements in this book. I loved that Thalia is named after one of the Muses, making her name a play on that as well as reflect the inspiration that she becomes for Liam. And Liam’s artistic medium of sculpture isn’t one you see often in historical romance. Glen captures beautifully an artist’s burning desire to work in their medium.

What I struggled with were other plot elements. Liam and Thalia meet in a panic over their siblings marrying, and considering they’re supposed to know their siblings well—particularly Thalia—their need to run after them flew in the face of Andrew and Artemis’ logical characters when we meet them. (And I wondered why Andrew and Artemis—who I really liked—felt like they needed to elope, anyway.) Thalia and Liam dislike one another intensely when they meet, and yet a few hours later that dislike just falls to the wayside in the face of their desire, which seemed awfully rapid to me. And there are several moments when Liam is a bit too arrogant (and presumptive) in his behavior towards Thalia.

But I was ultimately charmed by Thalia and by Glen’s gentle depiction of her growing comfort with her body, both in terms of her sensuality and in terms of her shape. Liam is marvelous in helping her become more comfortable and desirous of both these things.

This is a solid entry in the Curves and Cravats series, which is off to a grand start.

This is my first encounter with this author's work, and I found this book thoroughly enjoyable, prompting me to seek out more of her writings. Enter Thalia Renier, a fiery reformer on a crusade to save her sister from matrimonial doom, who crosses paths with the enigmatic William Radcliffe, Marquess of Ashford. This brooding widower has escaped to Tuscany to mold his sorrows into sculptures. Despite his aloof demeanor, Thalia uncovers a sensitive artist within, and their alliance to thwart their siblings' ill-fated marriage evolves into profound, passionate love. Yet, both must face their previous wounds and doubts to fully embrace a shared future.

I was utterly charmed by this tale, a masterful blend of artistry, fervor, and second chances. Thalia's blazing resolve and Ashford's concealed soft spots strike such a delightful contrast, you can't help but cheer them on. The author's prose dances with wit and warmth, etching the duo's odyssey to love and trust into a narrative as unforgettable as a classic sculpture. This is a new author for me and hot is what I say for the story line.

Thalia Renier finds out from her stepmother that her sister Artemis eloped with Lord Andrew Radcliffe a known rake. She sets out to stop them from being married before she makes a mistake.

Thalia storms Marquess of Ashford home in search of his brother and runs into the Marquees himself. She explains why she is there, and he says he was searching for his brother himself.

Thalia takes off heads for the train station and is rescued by William, he invites her to travel with him in his private train car. While they are traveling, he says she needs to model for him. Thalia knows how she looks, but Liam loves the way she is.

They decide to have an affair but to take precautions and he agrees. Liam does find out one secret that she never told anyone. They discuss their past with each other, which brings them closer.

This story of Thalia and Liam makes you feel the love and lust for each other. Who knew one night of passion can turn into something real and lasting.

This novella was a steamy romp. Thalia and Liam first got together for the purpose of reeling in their errant younger siblings. In pursuit of the eloping couple, they rode in a private train car and overnighted at a luxurious inn. Liam fell for Thalia at first sight and the long trip gave him plenty of time for seduction.
Thalia was very self-conscious about her appearance. As a widow, she felt like her youth was behind her and she wore the frumpy gowns to prove it. She had a hard time believing that such a beautiful man would even give her the time of day. Liam saw Thalia as a voluptuous redhead and thought that all of the men who had never noticed her were fools. What began as a casual fling turned into a real love story.
Personally, I think that many curvy girl romances take the theme way too far. This book kept things balanced and didn't allow Thalia's insecurities to outweigh the actual storyline.

Extremely well written, full of drama, love, romance, society, action and suspense. Loved the cover, just beautiful. Liam is back from being overseas for 5 years after his wife's death. He was blamed for her death as only the newspaper back then could. Society was always looking for gossip to blame something on someone whether true on not. He gets back only to find his brother has run off and to be married. Thalia is the sister of the bride to be and shows up at his home looking for their them or where they have gone. Both want to stop this marriage and believe neither are good enough for their sibling. Together they travel north to find them but are to late , they had married that morning . Liam and Thalia both have lots of feelings and steam to share. Great book to read and enjoy. Would strongly recommend to others.

This was a fun and beautiful book.

When Thalia discovers her sister has eloped, she goes on an adventure with the brother to her sister’s fiancée to find the couple. In the meantime, the two hunters find one another.

This story was very body positive. The marquess, Liam, was a sculptor. From the moment he saw Thalia and her curvy form, he knew she was special and he desired to sculpt her. He was a broody (growly) and domineering sort, but he was also very playful with Thalia. I liked that mix a lot. He took every opportunity to show Thalia that he loved her form and didn’t allow her to hide from him or the world. The man also had a filthy mouth….

Their story was really quite sweet and passionate at the same time. I enjoyed it very much.

I love these "Curves & Cravats" books, "The Marquess & His Muse" is another hot and steamy read. This is my first time reading this author and she did not disappoint. A widower, who is labeled "The Murderous Marquess," and a widow, who is a scorned wallflower with curves, meet under trying circumstances. There is an instant attraction and crazy lust. The Hero and heroine are well matched in that neither is looking to remarry. This short novella has a wonderful plot, well-written characters and enough heat to singe your fingers off. It kept me turning pages till the end. I loved this book and I think you will too. I highly recommend it!

Loved it! It is a sensuous story about two people who both had extremely disappointing and emotionally damaging marriages. Thalia and Liam met when she stormed into his home looking for his younger brother with whom her sister was eloping. Liam was caprivated by her and wanted to sculpt her, but first they had a wedding to stop. He insisted that they team up to look for them, and a train ride in his personal car led to a kiss that changed their lives. This is a steamy tale of healing. It is exciting and endearing, with a sigh-worthy Marquess and a widowed earl’s daughter who learns to accept herself and stand her ground.

A widow worrying over her sister who has eloped and a marquess who,s brother is the one she’s eloped with ….
She bounds into his home ….and they end up setting off together to find them before it’s too late …

There journey to York is a voyage of discovery for both of them ..they both are in need of some tenderness after un happy marriages but what they find in each other is a passion beyond anything they have ever experienced.
Even though she is a widow he takes her virtue but how ….tenderness like he has never known before over comes them both and so start an explosive passionate affair , it it both seductive and sexy with sizzling hot and erotic scenes .
An enjoyable read and I’m looking forward to reading more from this lovely author .

This was a sweet novella about second chances. Two people with a common goal work together and get to know one another like no one else. Their connection is instant, but they both have hurtful past relationships. Can they learn to trust again? They have a lot of fun figuring it out. I liked both characters, and their banter was quite entertaining.

This is a steamy story with an age difference that opens them both up to different worlds. The H showed the h that she had beauty that she had never seen. It did end abruptly. I would have liked to hear more about their future together.

Never Say Never:
What a dynamic story this turned out to be. My first time reading anything by this author, and I was pleasantly surprised with her writing skills that had me turning the explosively explicate pages as quick as possible. It is an intriguing romance with two very intelligent characters which I loved both equally for different reasons. The building of their acquaintance moved at a fast pace into a blistering affair that kept my attention to the very enjoyable ending.
I loved everything about this story and will certainly read more of Ms.Glen's stories. This series sounds delightful and definitely have your lady's fan ready.

Tropes: curvy MFC; MMC with a past; age gap; MC's are artists
Steam level: 3-4
Part of a series but fine on its own.

This is a quick, super steamy read for those who love the "curvy girl who feels like an ugly duckling finds her man and finds her HEA" trope. It's light on characterization and plot but the MC's have decent chemistry, and the spice is spicy, if that's on your agenda. I liked that MMC is a sculpter but there's not a lot of insight into MFC's talents and how she got into drawing caricatures.

I read an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest opinion. Thanks to the author and Booksprout for this opportunity.

When Thalia finds out her younger sister has eloped with Lord Andrew she rushes to his home in hopes of stopping them but she is too late according to his older brother who is known as the Murderous Marquess and he also wants to stop them so they ban together. What she finds out is he actually had nothing to do with the death of his wife and she explains that even though she is widow her husband liked prostitutes and never consummated their marriage so on their trip to find their siblings they embarked on an affair. This is how they first met but their story is delightful and a must read.

Another successful novella in the Curves and Cravats series.

Two souls damaged by their pasts, overcome their hurdles to find love.

Liam is a sculptor and has lived in Italy for some years after the scandal of his cheating wife's death and accusations that he killed her. He has been burned and burned badly by the publicity.

Thalis is voluptuous and suffers from body image issues and a bad marriage.

The two combine efforts to find their siblings who have eloped. Except that the journey is fraught with lust and passion. A misunderstanding leads to a split that is eventually resolved for a hea.
