Helen Finney writes this poetic journal of finding herself stranded in Phuket, Thailand through the Covid pandemic; of her experience of living in a foreign land, of having to learn a new language in order to obtain a visa and, with humour and poignancy, of feeling homesick despite being marooned in paradise.
Helen is an artist and writer, a painter and poet from the UK. With degrees and an MA in illustration and fine art, and a career as a graphic designer and then a painter, she turned to writing more seriously when she found herself unable to return home during the pandemic.
This collection quite literally got me through my quarantine. It is perfect to dip into when you need a creative injection to stop you going mad from the state of all things!
