Kate (h) inherits a quaint cottage from her grandmother in a small mountain town and sees it as the perfect opportunity for a fresh start. Determined to leave her chaotic city life behind, she moves into the rundown property, only to find herself neighbors with Rock (H), a gruff and reclusive metal artist. Rock, who prefers solitude, is irritated by Kate's arrival but feels compelled to help her when he sees she is struggling to settle in. Despite their initial friction, Rock brings Kate essential supplies and helps her with household tasks. Over time, they develop a mutual attraction. Kate, charmed by Rock's hidden artistic talents and the beautiful sculptures he creates from scrap metal, begins to see the deeper side of him. Their relationship progresses as they spend more time together, and things heat up between the two. Kate's journey of self-discovery and Rock's journey of opening up to love lead them to realize that sometimes, what you need the most is the thing you never knew you were missing. Kate just inheritated her grandmothers house. When she got to the house she went to the wrong one at first and was greeted by a large grumpy man who directed her to her home.
Rock was never attracted to anyone like he is to Kate. Everyday he does little things to be near her. One time he even offers to take her into town to help her get another job since she has complained about the one she has. He never really likes going into town but for Kate he is willing to.
Kate was thankful for everything Rock was doing for her. She liked spending time with him, especially when he didn't have his shirt on. Drove her crazy. One day things took a turn where she'd get to see all of him. Just what she wanted and so did he. Their life took a turn for the better, they worked together, fell in love and both couldn't be happier.

Kate has just moved to town after she inherited her Nona's cottage so she is getting a few things at the store. When she arrives at what she believes is the cottage after making her way thru the junk littering the yard, she puts the key in the lock; but it doesn't work. Then Rock opens the door and wants to know who is trying to get into his house. He then has to show her where her cottage is. Rock is grumpy. When he goes down to check on Kate, he sees that she isn't prepared for living there; no real groceries, sheets, cookware or blankets. So he grabs things from his house and brings her a 'care' box. Will Rock welcome Kate to the town? What does he learn from having her as a neighbor? And what will Kate learn about herself?.

This was really cute!
Kate's grandma left her a little cabin in a small town. She shows up and meets her new neighbor - gruff loner Rock. They don't really get along at first - they get on each other's nerves. But Rock gives her the benefit of the doubt, since her grandma was always nice to him.
Then Kate sees his artwork. Rock takes scrap metal and turns it into very cool pieces. It gives her a new appreciation for this mountain man who prefers to keep to himself.
But Rock just can't seem to stay away from her. Can't stop thinking about her. Now if he can just convince her to stay.
This was a great little instalove story, between a city girl who's never stayed in one place very long and a gruff mountain man who doesn't like company.

Kate's grandmother, Elsie, died and left her cabin to Kate. She hadn't seen her Nona, as she called her, for years. She hadn't even known Nona had moved. But the villagers had certainly known about Kate! 

Rock is known as the grumpy man with the yard filled with junk. He may be that, but he's also one of the men in town who can be relied upon to help others. 

He'd like nothing better than to buy back the land and cottage from her. Despite her history of not staying anywhere for too long, there's something about here and him drawing her in and making her consider staying. Especially when he...

Needing the Mountain Man is a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, grumpy-sunshine, curvy girl gets her mountain man romance. Kate is a curvy girl who has just moved to town after she inherited her Granny's cabin. Rock is her new, hunky, grumpy, reclusive neighbor. The two are instantly attracted to each other, but Rock doesn't need a neighbor and she doesn't need a man...that lasts for a short amount of time until they spontaneously combust and get hot and heavy. But does Kate plan on staying? They had great chemistry, and we ended on a happy note after a little angst. This was a great, short, and steamy read.

Artist recluse and the city girl
Kate inherits her grandma's small town cottage and sees this as the fresh start she needs. Her gruff, grumpy neighbour, Rock, is less than thrilled about the company. They are both instantly attracted to each other but she is trying to be independent and he is used to being alone so they try to resist each other. That doesn't last long. At first glance his property is littered with scrap metal but he's a scrap metal artist and some of the "litter" is his art. This was physical chemistry more than emotional chemistry but for a short bite size story it was okay.

Welcome back to Starfall Valley. Last book we saw what became of Elsie's bookstore. Now we get to meet Elsie's grand-daughter.
Kate is used tooving around, and never stays in one place. She has yet to find her passion in life. Her grandmother left her a cottage when she passed, and her new neighbor is a good looking scrap-metal artist. Maybe Rock will help her find her passion.

Excellent series. Each is a short that compliments the others, but are stand alone stories.

Kate is a hot mess, but she's also feisty, talkative and strong willed. Used to running when things get tough she's hoping to find a place to settle in the cottage her Grandmother left her.

Rock is a huge, muscled, gruff, stoic, loner. Happy in his own space and solitude, or so he thought. That is until a whirlwind of a city girl moves in next door and turns his world upside down.

A wonderful, sweet romance between two likeable but different characters finding a place in the world.

I enjoyed this quick read and the loved the author's writing style! It was a feel good instant attraction between a quirky young woman and a grumpy, self isolated mountain man. I felt a connection to the characters through the insights the author gave into their insecurities and personalities. Would recommend to anyone who likes this genre and is a sucker for an HEA!.

I truly enjoyed Needing the Mountain Man. It is a quick read with Kate and Rock being engaging characters. As they grow together and work on their issues and relationship, there is certainly a side of steam coming into play. Lots of smiles and touching moments (also the intro of some great side characters) lead me to want to read others and continue the joy and heat!.

Abby is going to WOW you from the very beginning of this book starting with the cover and ending with HOTTEST HEA ending you can dream of. I smiled at the character name Rock because when I saw his name I instantly thought of the cover and hoe he was built solid like a rock. This was a very entertaining romance book that is a quickie you will love.

This is a fun novella that reads quickly, but packs a lot of story in a short span. It pulls you in and holds your attention from the beginning to the end. The storyline is intriguing as the components unfold. The characters are well written and have strong steamy chemistry together. I enjoyed this novella. Highly recommend!.

Needing the Mountain man is a well written short novella that hooks you in. At a short, astonishing 40 pages yiu still get a full story.

It's delicately fast paced and I'd love to see more of the series in the future. My only regret was that we didn't see more of a relationship or bond building between the two MCs before the act.

Overall though, it's a refreshing story to break up your TBR and the sass made me smile several times! Highly recommend!

Grumpy but truly not, Rock is the man who never hardly ever gets off the mountain. That is until Kate. Seemingly accidentally accident prone is she. She doesn't need Rock.. well, only to put on his shirt on... funny and serious undercurrent of attraction. Good read.
