Claire Houck (she/they/he), pen name Nina Waters, fandom name unforth, is the founder and sole proprietor of Duck Prints Press LLC. She is queer, 40 years old, married to the lovely Lisa, and a mother of two. Claire has been writing fanfiction since the young age of seven, when she penned (well, two-finger typed and printed dot matrix) the timeless classic “the story of my littl ponies and the glob.” Since then, her spelling, grammar and prose have improved immensely. She has written over two hundred short stories, a number of novellas, and 16 novels—some original, some fanfiction—including “A Glimmer of Hope,” which was successfully Kickstarted and self-published in fall, 2016. She’s also had two short stories published. Before she became a full-time writer, Claire had a career as a professional grant writer and program evaluator, providing consultation services for the New York City Department of Education and other non-profit education organizations.

Sometimes all one needs and wants is poly smut. There is something for everyone, regardless of identity. Even as an ace spectrum man, I often find myself in the mood for reading smut (as well as writing it). It takes skill to write poly, in ways that can be incredibly surprising. After all, you have to keep track of... "many hands". (He said the thing, he said the thing!)

I write f/f/f and m/m/m more than mixed gender. And I rarely read poly myself, to be honest. But when I saw this during crowdfunding I knew I needed to back it and dive into the writing. Even if poly isn't your thing, you might find a story in here that changes your mind. Or is at least your exception to your rule. There are combinations abounding, because gender is a spectrum.

Even better, our lovely editors and authors have made sure to put content warnings at the beginning of each story. No going back and forth with the table of contents, if content warnings even exist in other books you've read. And you're sure to find a trope or two that you enjoy reading. But I do suggest you give each story a chance. (Unless of course the content warnings steer you away.)

I'm gay leaning but I tend to read female centered fiction. If only because a lot of the time I go into an m/m or poly m and then end up rushing away like the Roadrunner from the Coyote because the writer seems to not quite know how penile sex works if cis, and strap-on sex for pre or non-bottom surgery trans masc individuals (there is a difference in how a strap-on performs versus a 100% bio penis and don't be afraid of creative dildos on par with Bad Dragon). However, as I recall, each story I read in this anthology at least seemed grounded in reality, though with some genre specific exceptions, if that makes sense. And if I wasn't in the mood for a specific gender pairing, I had options for others I was interested in.

Poly is so hard to find when reading smut. It's easier to find in non-explicit fiction, but sometimes one wants some good old XXX writing. But I digress.

Take a chance on this anthology. You might surprise yourself by a fic that makes you go "I hope that didn't awaken something in me" like the meme (but in a good way).

I absolutely love it! It's got great stories in the anthology and they are all so well written. There's absolutely something for everyone in this book too! Vampires, Pirate, ABO, magical and non-magical settings, stories with and without bondage, and I loved every bit of it. This is a book I devoured in one sitting when I was most definitely supposed to be doing something else entirely.
