Eye opening

I truly value this book as it definitely explains the WHYs in my life as a child and through adult life.
I'd highly recommend this book to those questioning why they are the way they are.. wish I would have read this book 25yrs ago!

This book is short and, honestly, could've been shorter. While some of the information is useful, this book doesn't tread any new ground in the area of estrangement. It's repetitive in places to a sometimes annoying degree, but when there's a spark, it's very good. Could be read as an offshoot of its superior predecessor, Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents. I'm also unsure why so much of the text is gendered (I know what the title is; don't come for me) because a lot of this information applies to sons of EI mothers as well. Honestly, I think expanding gender parameters may have made the length of this book justifiable and expanded its audience.
