Test-driving the best friend of my best friend's husband between the sheets is off-limits.
I know it, and so does Miles.
We're not friends and only tolerate each other in small doses whenever our paths cross. Miles Walker is a pain in my side who challenges me to no end. But he's also my mirror who sees all of me, even the parts I try to hide.
Fate seems hell-bent on bringing Miles and me together. No matter the distance we put between us, we keep finding our way back to each other.
We both despise relationships and prioritize pleasure in the moment over happily ever afters. The problem with a desire that won't go away is the urge to scratch the itch.
I can't escape him, the lingering glances or heat tracing up my thighs whenever he's around.
We tempt fate when we give in after years of denial. The more time we spend together, the more Miles chips away at the wall fortifying my heart.
I played with fire, and now, Miles is changing the rules like they're meant for him to break.

Tanvier Peart is a future bestselling romance author with a healthy obsession with snacks and happily ever afters. She is a good girl with kinks who spends her days working on public policy and enjoys the wild life of being a wife and PTA mom. By night, she writes and reads romance books with steamy scenes.
Miles Apart was so. much. fun! Interwoven with the events of book 1, The Seven Month Itch, Miles and Emma experience a true push and pull during the singles' retreat, navigating their best friends who are reuniting as husband and wife, the other singles at the resort, and their longtime unspoken pull to one another. What starts off as a not-so-friends with benefits situation turns into a fake dating on the low situation, and then feelings are caught, feet are kicked, hoots are hollered, and a time was had!
Tanvier Peart has such a genuine skill for making Black millennial characters relatable, funny, and raw without the cringe. Emma was so multilayered and flawed and was the queen of boundaries and changing her mind on a whim—as is her right! She was so unpredictable in that I expected her to be one way because of The Seven Month Itch, but she was so much more. Miles was such a solid, lovable, reliable, gentle-but-rough-when-needed man, and their love story came together in such an authentic way it was impossible not to root for them. Miles being ten toes down about Emma was delicious! And the sneaking around aspect about their relationship was hottttt. I did wish they had communicated better because some conflicts could've been avoided, but I ultimately didn't find it to be bothersome in a way that obstructed the plot.
The spice? Miles. Oh Miles. That's it and that's all!
I'm so excited to read the next book in this series and the more I read these books, the more I want other side characters to get books LOL. Like Zo and Rico intrigued me baaaad.
Thank you Tanvier for the opportunity to get an ARC. My first read by you and i cannot wait to read more.
4.5 - “I’ll always protect you, kitten.” Baby let Miles call me kitten imma be just like Emma on that man.
These two were simply meant to be. For sure fated to be together in every sense of it. No matter what they did it was only a matter a time and not to mention how much they’re alike. The way that chemistry built over time was stunning. Talk about steamy and spicy because once they went there baby it was all gas 🥵. Like the way they knew each others scents did me in. Both of them are funny, successful, confident and had lots of love for anything and everyone they considered important.
Watching Miles growth was beautiful. He was stuck in his ways and watching that wall come down put a smile on my face. He really seemed to fall first and i loved that for him. Especially during the fake dating scenes. That man was all in. When i say BDE make sure Miles is towards the top of that list 😊. 1. The way he handled Emma. 2. Got on Carter top plenty of times Lol. 3. Standing up to Emma’s nasty mother. 4. Smart as hell. 5. A great friend. 6. Let me not forget the care during Emma’s cycle. 7. The way he loves his mommy. This man this man.
Emma’s character just jumped off the page. She is THAT GIRL and loved watching her develop as well. I’m so glad to see a character like her coming from the parents she has. Especially that mother. She stood for what she loved and did it like boss no matter what. Loved her friendship with Justice and happy they weren’t alike. There was balance in their differences that made them even more authentic.
Please read because you won’t be disappointed. These two didn’t settle just for anything in their careers or friendships so why would Love be any different. It only took the right someone to make them go from Miles Apart to I’m Home.
4.5 stars ⭐️ Miles Apart by Tanvier Peart was such a beautifully written, emotional ride! What started as a classic frenemies to friends with benefits setup turned into something so much deeper. Neither of them believed in serious relationships, but love had other plans and watching them try (and fail) to fight their growing feelings had me hooked. The tension? Perfect. The chemistry? Off the charts. And yes… the spice was spicing 😮💨🔥 I adored this story and can’t wait to read Tender Offer!
If you like spicy books, you will LOVE this one. Not only does it have spice for days but it's extremely well written. I loved reading Emma and Miles love story. They start off as frenemies then lovers and then there's a lot of back and forth and trying not catch feelings. The banter was so fun and had me cracking up by chapter 2! Miles is definitely a new book boyfriend and Emma is the strong empowered bad ass I want to be. I do recommend reading the Seven Month Itch first because those characters show up in this book and I think it just adds to the story if you know who they are. Overall this was just a really fun book to read and I highly recommend it!
Thank you to the author for an ARC of Miles Apart.
"Aren't you tired of fighting this? We are inevitable."
"I take his hand and take the leap."
I am screaming from the rooftops that you need to read this book. I loved every second of this book and I loved reading about Emma and Miles experiences not only with each other but their own healing journeys separately. I really appreciated reading both Emma and Miles matching each other's energy and that tug and pull of fighting for dominance over the other. Their playful banter was down right hot and sexy, it was giving grown established confident people talking to one another. Emma's POV gave bad b*tch energy, confidence, dominant, strong, and determined, she took her life into her own hands and it is so refreshing to read about a main FMC that is like that from the start of the book and that type of confidence not wavering. Miles POV showed how attentive and appreciative he is of Emma and that he does not give up and has the stamina to back it up. I also really loved the numerous settings this book took place in, it was easy to follow and added to the plot of the story as well.
I adored Justice and Emma's close knit friendship and how their telepathy was stronger than anyone could experience.
The author does a great job with providing such vivid descriptions and imagery to explain Emma and Miles thoughts towards the other. It was so easy to see and understand their inner dialouge and watch their love flourish as the story kept moving. Another thing the author did that I enjoyed a lot was the homage to Black TV shows, and Black culture references, she did it in a way that it flowed naturally for whatever the setting was in. Some of her similes and metaphors added that extra love and appreciation to the Black experience.
The spicy scenes were indescribable, oh my goodness. The way the descriptions and vivid use of imagery to show how they touched one another and experienced spice in a way that not only made the reader want to jump in the book to join them but appreciate the balance of getting what you want in all aspects of life.
I will say Emma had me a bit frustrated with her denial of her feelings and lack of acknowledgement, however given her background and family dynamics it made sense. Lastly the mystery concerning Miles job was not on my bingo card.
GOOD GOD. I knew Miles would be dirty but I had no idea just HOW dirty 🥵
Since The Seven Month Itch, I’ve loved Miles and I’ve loved Emma and having their story told alongside Justice and Terrance’s just made it so much better. I already knew the timeline, significant events, and a lot of the other people mentioned in the book so it was nice to be brought back to a place I know and love.
Miles’ love for his GG and his mama made my heart melt. 🥹 The way he just wants to take care of his mom and make sure she has everything and not have to work makes me so happy. And the way he loves Emma???? Don’t even get me started. I may or may not have shed a bucketful of tears.
Emma, my sweet Emma. She is so strong and so independent and I’m so glad she has Miles to show her that she can be a little weaker, she can lean on him, and not have to do everything alone.
Tanvier hit it out of the park AGAIN and I love this book and this couple so much 😭 Thank you so much for this ARC and I love you!!
The character development in Miles Apart is outstanding. The chemistry between Emma and Miles sizzles from start to finish, blending humor, passion, and heart into an entertaining and spicy read.
Even as the second book in the Chance at Love series, Miles Apart stands alone perfectly. Although I haven’t read the first book, The Seven Month Itch, I had no trouble keeping up. I’m definitely planning to start at the beginning of the series.
Emma’s friendship with Justice really stood out. Their contrasting personalities complement each other perfectly—Emma’s outgoing nature draws Justice out, while Justice keeps Emma grounded. The romance between Emma and Miles is electric, and I couldn’t wait to see how their story would end.
Without giving too much away, this book is a must-read if you enjoy strong female characters, steamy romance, and well-developed personalities. Tanvier’s writing never disappoints! Emma and Miles' hilarious and dynamic interactions kept me hooked, and I loved seeing how they transformed each other.
If you’re looking for a super spicy 🔥 frenemies to lovers book this fall, I know the perfect book!
“Aren’t you tired?” “Of?” “Fighting this. We are inevitable.”
Emma and Miles are two very similar people who are determined to be successful in their chosen path no matter the odds, but never see love as an item on the list. They just get each other, you know? But won’t admit it, even as the evidence stacks up.
The character development was great and I loved reading about these two figuring things out! Found family is also a huge theme - I adored Emma and Justice’s best friendship and how much they fiercely showed up for each other. This is particularly important for Emma, whose biological family is…not it.
The spice here was so, so good here. Like, whew. Get this book! I highly recommend all of Tanvier’s books - definitely start with Justice and Terrence’s story in the Seven Month Itch, which has some overlap.
I received an advanced reading copy, receipt of which did not impact my review.
Miles Apart gives you comedic romance, a little bit of sneaking around topped with intense banter, love scenes that’ll make you say “iktr”, strong friendships, betrayal and lies, complicated family that eventually gets some healing, miscommunication, discovery of true love with yourself and partner, and last but not least a happily ever after…
This was my first time reading a book by this author and I definitely was not disappointed. I enjoyed that the author really took the time to tell Emma and Miles’ story. I honestly didn’t have any questions about them because I feel like the author answers them very well whether that was through all the dialogue between Miles and Emma or by simply exposing their thoughts. I feel like it shouldn’t have been this good to me since it’s the 2nd in the series and I haven’t read the 1st in the series. 🤣 I’m looking forward to reading more from Tanvier Peart!
"Every man in Emma’s life let her down, and I’ll prove to her I’ll keep fighting for us. The ball is in her court. When she’s ready, I’ll be there."
Miles Apart is Book 2 in the Chance at Love Series by Tanvier Peart-,Queen of Romcom 🩷🥰🥰🥰🥰
Miles & Emma were soooooooo good together !!! With their best friends married to each other, circumstances always brings them together- which is not always a bad thing. Giving intk temptation can be worth it with the right one. Their ups and downs in their relationship back & forth banter was everything!!!! Miles was a SWEETHEART, but no pushover by any means, Emma met her match with him ! Gushing & BLUSHING reading this ...... Miles IS THAT GUY ..... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤎
It took a while. I get that Justice and her husband from Seven Month Itch would make an appearance. And since I already read their story. I wanted more Emma and Miles, and less Justice and what's his name. Overall, the story was good. It just wasn't what I thought it would be.
3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ .5 stars! Emma and Miles have know each other for years through their best friends, Justice and Terrance. Emma took Justice to a singles retreat when Justice and Terrance were in the process of their divorce, and it so happened that Miles and Terrance were at the same retreat.
Emma and Miles always were attracted to each other and actual had one night together years ago, but never acted on it again, until now. They decide to be F buddies until feelings become involved and the dynamics of their relationship changes.
This was a fun frenemies to lovers story that had back and forth banter, that I love and also alot of spice. We also follow their own personal growth and self development as they become better individuals for themselves and each other. I enjoyed the first book in the series more than this one, but I still enjoyed their story and definitely recommend.
Interesting to read the events of book 1 from other characters’ POV, but while also filling in some other gaps. So that was really interesting and fun to read.
But I donno, maybe because I didn’t really like Book 1 - and I liked this one more, there was more to the characters - but I just wasn’t feeling this book.
Emma and Miles story was so much fun reading. They were the perfect match for each other but it was entertaining to see how it was going to play out especially after seeing how they were in the first book. I enjoyed this book!
The spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️!
It will be available October 8th!! Make sure to read it!
I received the ARC for Miles Apart - thank you! 3.75/5⭐️ Spice 4/5🌶
I want to note that I read The Seven Month Itch about a week before I started this book, so it was still pretty fresh in my mind.
I really enjoyed this! Miles and Emma were a great match for each other. You really didn't get that vibe while reading Book #1 so they did a great job covering their feelings for each other. After we got past the singles retreat section I was happier with the story and excited to read how their relationship grew. I found it to be a very mature relationship, something you don't get a lot in romances. They were both upfront with their feelings about each other despite being afraid to express those emotions. Emma is someone that keeps all her feelings inside and shuts down, not wanting to show how things affect her. Because she was so comfortable with Miles, she easily pushed past that. Miles broke down his "feelings wall" after their first night together quite frankly. As soon as he Their chemistry/the spice was crazy! Don't read this if you don't want to read some nasty nasty because they got DOWN! Miles was feening for Emma. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
If I had one critique it would be I wish there was less singles retreat and more of their relationship. I didn't like the ending of The Seven Month Itch in terms of what we learn about Emma and Miles. We're literally told about the future of their relationship so going into this book was a little anti-climatic seeing as we know We lowkey knew what was going to happen. There was so much overlap that I wasn't fully in the story and kept referring to TSMI in my mind. It felt almost that I was reading that story again, even though this was a different couple. (This critique will also apply to Madison and Preston, since we were told of their future in the epilogue as well)(I'll still read that book though)
I finally made it to book two! I came to this one right after rereading Seven Month Itch (which I listened to on audio), and I love how the timelines overlap. It’s so interesting to see what was happening behind the scenes from the perspectives of the side characters who now take center stage. I’ll be honest after finishing Seven Month Itch, I thought I already knew where things were heading, so I wasn’t sure I needed to read this. But trust me, you’re missing out if you skip it. Emma, our FMC, is the daughter of a senator and a mother who’s obsessed with social circles and appearances. Both of her parents dismiss her her mom is a piece of work and her dad is too focused on his political career to really see her. Then there’s Carter, her dad’s chief of staff, who’s the absolute worst a slimy pest that just won’t go away. It’s no wonder Emma’s closed herself off emotionally, even as she maintains this image of being carefree and sexually liberated. Miles, on the other hand, is a mystery to most people. Everyone sees him as this charming playboy with an air of secrecy—no one really knows what he does for a living (he’s actually a hacker/cyber/tech genius 👀). I love how Miles Apart expands on his friendship with Zo and shows a more grounded side of him, especially since we don’t see as much of Terrance in this book. What I really appreciated about Miles is how he pursues Emma without letting her push him away. He falls first and hard but he also refuses to let her walk all over him. Their chemistry is undeniable, and the tension between them feels earned. The spice definitely amps up in this one, and the touch of political intrigue adds even more depth. Plus, we get a brief glimpse of Madison, who’s had some major growth since book one she’s more humble and grounded now, and I loved seeing that evolution
Emma and Miles are long-time frenemies, bound together by their best friends. Hidden beneath their sharp exchanges is a mutual attraction they’ve evaded for years. Both have embraced a carefree, no-strings-attached lifestyle, content with being players in the dating world. But when sparks ignite during a singles retreat, the tension between them intensifies, and it’s only a matter of time before something gives.
Despite their best efforts to maintain distance and deny their feelings, fate seems determined to throw them into each other’s path. Compromising situations and shared moments slowly break down their walls. What starts as stolen glances and a convenient arrangement soon evolves into something deeper, as vulnerability and true emotions emerge.
But what happens when headstrong personalities like Emma and Miles face the risk of real love? Can they set aside their pride and open their hearts, or are they destined to self-destruct before they even get the chance?
The character development in Miles Apart is truly impressive. The tension between Emma and Miles crackles with intensity, and their chemistry is undeniable from start to finish. This story is a delightful mix of humor, heat, and heart, making for an entertaining and spicy read.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 4/5
Miles Apart is available October 8th
Thank you Tanvier Peart for the opportunity to read an advance copy of Miles Apart.
S/N: Miles Apart is the second book in the Chance At Love series. Even though I haven’t read the first book, I had no trouble following the relationships that were likely introduced earlier. I do plan to read The Seven Month Itch, and you might want to start with that one before diving into Miles Apart.
“‘I want to keep you safe, Kitten. Will you let me?’ I’d set the world on fire if anyone harmed her.”
Having read the first book in this series (The Seven Month Itch) right before reading this one, I felt like the first few chapters were just a retelling of the events of book 1. Though there were some things as it relates to Miles and Emma that were a little more fleshed out in these chapters, I was more excited for the story after the two left the singles retreat. For me, that is when Miles and Emma’s story really begins.
Miles and Emma were a cute couple. Though they started off as frenemies and then move on to a situationship / friends with benefits, both start to catch feelings for each other and end up wanting more. It doesn’t help that life, and universe keeps pushing them together and the rest is history.
I loved these two. I really enjoyed their funny banter, their angst and tension, and there is no doubt that these two have fiery chemistry. Miles and Emma are two people that have been so tough and closed off in life but with each other, they let their walls down and are able to be themselves. The way Miles care for Emma is exactly what she needed, especially considering the family she comes from. With him, she doesn’t have to be so strong and guarded.
Overall, this was a good story that I enjoyed. I recommend it for anyone who likes:
Cinnamon Roll MMC with 50 Cent Audacity Not Here For Your BS FMC Friends With Benefits Frenemies to Lovers In Denial Sworn Off Relationships Forced Proximity He Falls First Funny Banter Twin Flame Energy Fake Dating Lots of Sexual Banter Spicy / Heated Scenes
What better way to cheer up your bestie than taking her to a singles retreat to meet single men. At least Emma thought that's what her bestie Justice needed. Justice is separated from her husband, Terrence, and Emma thinks the best way to get over him is with a new hottie.
What Emma did not anticipate is her old flame, Miles along with Terrence to be at the same place as their getaway. Emma is definitely in a chokehold when she sees Miles. She's sworn off relationships and she doesn't want to even give Miles 20 seconds of her time. Until she see him at Ravenous. Miles can't keep his eyes off her and she can't keep her thoughts straight.
Justice and Terrence seem to keep ending up in the same space and the complexity of their relationship starts to reveal itself. They both had flaws and issues in their relationship but were they actually so bad it couldn't be worked out? Does love conquer all?
I loved the fierce and loyal friendship between Emma and Justice. Emma is so much more outgoing than Justice but that's what brought Justice out of her shell. Justice was the one that kept Emma grounded and they really complemented one another. Miles and Emma were electric and the pages were turning fast because I couldn't wait to see how their ending unfolded.
There is so much more to the story but I can't reveal more because it would ruin the magic of this book for you. If you like spicy, girl power, and characters with many layers you will love this book!
Book 2 of the “Chance at Love Series” writer Tanvier Pert is in her bag like a grandma with a peppermint in this story. We follow Emma and Miles through an enemies to lovers, forbidden lovers, “they don’t have to know” type vibe. Spicey scenes right out of the gate, the rest of this review contains NSFW and spoiler content.
Miles and Emma are characters from “The Seven Month Itch” Chance at love series book 1. Their fooling around is forbidden do in part to their friend’s Justice and Terrance; and their rocky relationship. Miles apart starts where book 1 left off at a singles retreat. We are treated to spicy scenes from main and ancillary characters right out of the gate. What I liked about this story is that it can be treated as a standalone book. Peart does an incredible job at providing context to the story in “Miles Apart”, when parts of seven month itch are mentioned.
Emma as our FMC has emotional guardrails due to her image obsessed political dynasty family. Em, which she is often referred to in the story, is a professional lingerie designer. Her career is global, and she is well known in the fashion industry.
Our MMC is incredibly stressful. With his career in cyber security, he dips in and out …. He and Em will share a romantic evening or really spicy scene, and then poof he’s gone to do some cyber security work- then he just shows up to her place or events.
Ancillary character Carter, Campaign staff to Emma’s dad gives an almost why choose trope. He turns up at inopportune moments. There is a huge twist at the end . This book is great for contemporary romance readers. Readers who want spice right away. And anyone who is interested in starting a new trilogy.

There are many sayings about soul mates and how you just know you are the one you want to be with, and let me tell you from the first chapter these two were end game!!
You can cut the tension between them with a knife, they had the passion and connection that I wish I could find with someone. No matter how hard they tried to deny it, they were always connected and found eachother. This book was steamy, emotional, and a nail biter.
Miles absolutely has BDE, the way he handled Emma, the way he handled Carter, standing up to Emma’s crappy family and his mouth omggg. I loved seeing him grow from a man who hated commitment and only wanted sex to finding his soul mate and the women that he wanted to be with for the rest of his life. He was protective of her and open with her. He let her be her own person and never held her down.
EMMA IS THAT GIRL!! She is a powerhouse on a page. Her personality is also brighter then the sun!! I loved seeing her become stronger when it came to her family, they were always putting her down and all she needed was a little help to realize how bright of a person she is! i loved how she was such a good friend to Justice and put her life on the back burner for her. It reminds me of my relationship with my best friend!!
You will not be disappointed when reading this book! Tanvier has become one of my favorite authors, I fell in love with watching Miles and Emma go from Miles Apart to finding home with one another
*Thank you Tanvier for the ARC in exchange for an honest review*
This was the story of Emma and Miles, two characters that went toe to toe with each other but ultimately fell in love. There are some parts of this book that reference the first book in the series, so we get a different perspective on those events as well.
There were many things I loved about the book. Miles definitely lives up to the “50 cent audacity” that the author describes. The banter was hilarious and so were the characters. I also loved the storyline and how it incorporated parts of the first book. Interconnected standalones are my thing.
What I didn’t love, and what ultimately led to my rating, is the abruptness in multiple places. Miles and Emma falling for each other felt sudden, and the twist at the end felt that way as well. If it had been that way in only a few spots, I might have overlooked it, but it happened too frequently for it to not impact my enjoyment.
I also would have loved to see more of the cinnamon roll side of Miles. In the beginning, he was giving all audacity, no cinnamon roll, and we really don’t see much of it till the halfway mark or a little after. Once we see it, though, Miles melted my heart the way a cinnamon roll does. I just wish we had seen more of it beforehand.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book. I’ve read the other two books by this author and can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
Tanvier Peart's writing pulls you into the story and keeps you turning pages. This story has dual POV and I was impressed with how well she wrote the MMC; it is not easy to write a main character of the opposite sex and it be authentic. I don't usually like the enemies to lovers trope but Peart did it well. It felt natural and did not evaporate suddenly. Even after they began to admit an interest/attraction, you still felt the antagonism.
The author writes dialogue well. Further, she understands pacing to add emotion to a scene. Whew! There are some spicy scenes, but they are written well. I appreciated the theme of found family and people who love and pour into you who are not related by blood. The theme of women's autonomy is also strong particularly with regard to her sexuality which is refreshing. Both main characters are layered with trauma that impacts their capacity for intimacy which humanized them.
I was disappointed however as I approached the resolution, it felt rushed and not as well-written as the rest of the book. I was confused a few times. More connections need to be made and bread crumbs dropped earlier in the story. It felt forced which is a real shame because up to that point, the story flowed. It was also a little bumpy during the "third act." I felt the explanation needed to be fleshed out more.
Overall, I enjoyed the read. It is a page-turner and I would read other titles from this author.
Miles and Emma were inevitable. They've had a frenemies type relationship for over 15 years but tolerated each other due to their best friends being married. Miles was an all-around ladies' man and Emma was literally the female version of him. They did not do relationships and considered sex a form of cardio. Neither had any aspirations of developing a relationship; nothing beyond the physical. It's funny how things never pan out the way we expect them too.
It was obvious that Miles and Emma were jonesing for each other in Book 1 and that their animosity towards each other was simply them fighting their immense attraction to one another. Both Miles and Emma had relationship issues and things that stood as obstacles to them having what they were afraid of the most.....Love.
Miles and Emma were a fun couple to read about. I honestly preferred them over Justice and Terrence because the latter two got on my last nerve. The events in this book overlap the events in 7 Month Itch so there will be some repeat dialogue just from Miles and Emma's POV.
Expect to find:

Summary: Emma and Miles are not friends, they tolerate each other. They challenge each other and see each other for who they are. They keep finding their way back to each other making the desire to want to be together that much harder. They’ve both sworn off relationships but now they can’t escape each other and their feelings.
My Thoughts: This might be my favorite book of 2024. I am obsessed with this book and couldn’t put it down!! It has everything you’re looking for romance, spice and laughs. Miles is top tier!! Can’t get over him. He was the definition of ten toes down behind the people he cares about and he applied so much pressure on Emma he didn’t want to let up. The way they complimented each other was everything. And I loved Emma, she took no bs and underneath the hard exterior was a heart of gold. I loved how Emma and Miles defended and cared for each other. Miles did not play about his woman and he always made sure she was taken care of. I cannot recommend this book enough it’s so good!!
Let me just tell you Emma and Miles are two of my favorite side characters I ever hoped would get a book and Tanvier 10000000% delivered!
We met Emma and Miles in the Seven Month Itch, both their with their friends and former spouses Justice and Terrence who are freshly divorced (and i mean FRESH....hence the title of the book lol). Now lets get into Emma and Miles....
Emma is the daughter of a Congressman whos expected to behave a certain way but Emma's her own woman and won't be bogged down by their boring expectations of her, she knows what she wants and takes no crap.
Miles and Emma have such huge character growth and their chemistry throughout this whole story is AMAZING! These two are the epitome of frenemies to lovers and I was so here for it!
Miles growth especially, the way he cares for Emma in so many different facets of her life no matter whats going on. His need to keep her safe even though shes strong enough to handle her own.
The spice and banter in this book is just *chefs kiss* top tier.....when I tell you I ate this story up... i ATE this story up!
Thank you Tanvier for an opportunity to ARC review this book!
Miles Apart (Chance at Love Series - Book 2) does not disappoint!! It is full of humorous banter, family issues, love and lots and lots of toe-curling scenes. 🥵
The FMC (Emma) is strong, caring and confident woman. She‘s the type of woman who walks into a room, exudes sexual energy and knows how to use it. Her life seems simple, work hard and play harder, but life is not always that simple. Her family ties and dynamics has her in a chokehold. That is until she inadvertently thrusted the MMC into her family’s crazy world.
The MMC (Miles) is suave, smart and confident man in his personal and professional life. He is loyal to the ones he cares about and will defend their honor no matter who he’s up against. He is able to conquer anything that gets in his way with ease. Then Emma walks I to his life and it’s game on.
When these two collide in to each other’s lives, they find out that they are better together than apart. One’s weakness, is the other’s strength. This book will have you ready to defend their “situationship” by any means necessary.
Let me tell you how much I loved this book! The book had me laughing from the very beginning.
From the very beginning you just knew that Emma and Miles were just meant to be. How they matched each other’s energy was just chef’s kiss! I loved how Emma knew from the very beginning that Miles would change her life and while she didn’t want it to happen because she wasn’t a ‘relationship person’ she still allowed it to happen. She fell for him hard and allowed all the experiences to happen and it was just amazing.
Emma’s journey wasn’t an easy one. Her relationship with her parents wasn’t something I loved seeing. It was toxic at the very least. And let’s not forget about Crispin… sorry I mean Carter, that man can go F himself. While the idea of Carter being involved intrigued me at the beginning it sure lost the appeal for me very quickly once I read the way he spoke to her.
Now Miles… now I get why Tanvier said Miles is a Cinnamon roll with 50 Cents audacity! 🤣 This man was just everything. The way he spoke and the things he said… I just couldn’t! 🤣 Miles was the sweetest with Emma always. The way he protected her from the very beginning. Even if it was because ‘she was Justice’s friend’ which we all know was a bold faced lie! He definitely had feelings and they were showing pretty much from the start.
And before I forget, Emma and Justice’s friendship… IT WAS EVERYTHING! I loved how they weren’t just friends, they were a family! And lets me say, I haven’t read ‘The Seven Month Itch’ but this one was easy to follow, and I still loved that I got to learn a bit about Justice and Terrance’s relationship. Which makes me want to read their book ASAP! (I was just waiting for the audiobook 😉). I can’t wait to see what happens with Madison & Preston next!
Thank you Tanvier for the early copy! I absolutely loved it. 🩷
