This book covers a tumultuous period of time in English history.

The western fall of the Roman Empire left a power vacuum in England, and many battles were fought until a King was in place.

The slow generational merging of Angles, Saxons, and Jutes settlers eventually led to a shift from Anglo-Saxon power to Norman.

Throw in Viking raids and missionaries spreading Christianity throughout the land...

The book is well-researched and well-written. It includes maps, images, and reference material.

Overall, this is a short but interesting read for anyone interested in this subject matter.
