The Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by the pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican clergyman and photographer.
His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass as well as the poems "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky", all considered to be within the genre of literary nonsense.
Oxford scholar, Church of England Deacon, University Lecturer in Mathematics and Logic, academic author of learned theses, gifted pioneer of portrait photography, colourful writer of imaginative genius and yet a shy and pedantic man, Lewis Carroll stands pre-eminent in the pantheon of inventive literary geniuses.
I honestly don’t understand why this edition has any bad reviews—it’s absolutely brilliant. This version of Alice in Wonderland includes everything, and I mean everything. Nothing’s been left out—from the Mock Turtle to the moment Alice grows so large she knocks into a bird’s nest.
If you’re not a fan of manga-style illustrations, then fair enough, this might not be for you. But if you are, or you’re open to something a little different, you’ll love it. The art adds such a fresh and expressive twist to a classic story, and it stays true to the original in all the right ways.
Highly recommend to any Wonderland fan looking for a complete and visually unique edition!
