When you have a story full of action, adventure, and conflict plus a strong, dominant female heroine, the result is a mind-boggling book that will leave you breathless. The Murkudahl Kurukaii are a group of warriors who are out for one thing: revenge. They discovered that humans, with advanced technology, are destroying the earth; they will stop at nothing to destroy humankind and enslave the survivors. Now enter Lady Vaush Bastionli, the chosen heroine, to protect the Kait and save the humans from being destroyed and enslaved. She has to encounter extreme danger, confronting the Mukudahl and she even has to ally with her worst enemy, Lord Comron Van Laven. But, the fate of the human race lies on Lady Vaush and she will stop at nothing to save humanity and rise as the new leader.
I was blown away with a fascination with every chapter I read. I will always love books that are unpredictable and that always keep readers guessing on their toes. Just when you're figuring out one event, a whole new one occurs with an unexpected turn, taking the book in a better direction. At first, when reading the book, it was confusing to distinguish the difference between the good and bad guys, but as you read, it becomes clear. There was nothing to dislike about the book. The book was stellarly edited, written, and structured. For these reasons, I am rating this book five stars.

Epic.
I love the elements in this book... danger, adventure, action, intrigue, forbidden love, and saving the empire. While Vausch isn't a kick butt and takes names later type of character, she is steadfast and no pushover. Comron, on the other hand, is for sure the tough warrior. It's nice to see him fall for his enemy and show a soft side. I can't wait for the next in the series.

This was a surprisingly fun read. I do hope Comron learns to be less condescending and misogynistic, though...
