E. Ayers is a true believer in love at first sight because it happened to her, she thinks everyone should find that special someone. When it happens, it's magical. Writing about that love is what she enjoys doing and when she's not spending time with her two dogs and waiting on his royal highness (the cat), she's busy writing. The official matchmaker for all the characters who wander through her brain, she likes finding just the right ones to create a story.

She writes a slice-of-life novel, the romantic slice in two characters lives. In today's world, most people have careers and responsibilities. Figuring out how to blend two separate lives into one can be a huge dilemma. No one is perfect. She brings that into what she writes.

The fantasy of a handsome hunk who will sweep the damsel off her feet and carry her off to a castle in the clouds is still there, but that castle is probably a condo. And that damsel isn't going to be persuaded by a few smooth lines.

I didn't even make it 10%. He scares her bad enough that she takes off running and he chases her down. Than gets mad when she screams but forgive her because she starts to cry. Hoe is this supposed to be entertaining as a romance novel?

Wanting is a mainstream romance novel featuring Mac McGuire and Mandy (Amanda) in an emotional charged and engaging novel about building a loving relationship, and second chances.

While Mac is eating at a greasy spoon café, he sees Mandy, and he’s intrigued by her beauty, and wanting to know more about her. Mandy has secrets and in the beginning afraid of her own shadow, with low self-esteem.

Mac tries to strike up a conversation with Mandy, but Mandy wants no part of Mac or anyone else.

Amanda quit school to keep her family together; she is busing tables to care for her siblings and herself. Because of her life situation and her mother, she wants nothing to do with men. Mac is a man and someone with money.

Mac is enthralled with Mandy, he sees a beautiful woman. Although, Mac has been a bachelor; and has many women friends, there is something special about Mandy that has Mac thinking about her becoming a part of his life in River City.

Mac wants to learn more about Mandy, and wants to take her out; Mandy is reluctant to go out with any man, especially one that comes to a restaurant where she is busing tables.

Will these two get together? This reviewer isn’t going to tell you. Readers will have to find out for themselves by reading Wanting.

More characters from the River City series. I liked this conflict between classes, with the girl from the projects and the successful businessman with an established reputation in the community. Amanda seems to be kind of meek at the beginning, but she soon showed that she's no pushover. Mac did tend to get a little stubborn at times. (Well, what man doesn't? :P) However, the relationship between him and Amanda was steady. The romance was spicy. Amanda's devotion to her family was admirable. I hope to see more of them in another book in the series. This is a great, light read!

Disclosure: I was a contracted editor for this novel.

Whenever I am personally in a dark mood, I look for a romance that is light, with little drama and sweet. E. Ayers' books are this way. The hero is always a good guy and the heroine is usually a sweet girl with minimal issues. Together they face the everyday while falling in love. There is usually no crime or heavy suspense. Wanting is about a girl from the projects who is raising her younger siblings. She catches the attention of the town's most eligible wealthy bachelor. He's a little too good to be true but that's ok because when I read her books I need to know that life can be good somewhere even if it is fiction.

The plot of this book is a rich, successful man falling for a girl who grew up in the projects. A sweet, "happy ever after" story. I had a difficult time believing the characters, specifically Mac. I couldn't understand how he fell in love with a women that wouldn't talk to him. He was falling for her before their first date, where, by the way, she freaks out. Mac has the patience of a Saint (and then some) for putting up with some of her crap. I just couldn't believe in his character and that kept me from really enjoying the book.

Wanting is a beautiful, intense, hopeful (and really steamy) novel. Mac would never consider himself as a fairy tale white knight, but for Amanda and her brother and sister that is exactly what he is. This book is no fairy tale, and up to this point Amanda's life makes Cinderella's look great, but Mac sure looks like prince charming to her. The question for her to determine is whether or not a prince charming can be real in this day and age or whether it is a case of "It it looks too good to be true, it probably is".

I truly enjoyed this novel. Mac was so unbelievably patient, caring and understanding towards Amanda and her past. What prompted me to read this novel is first, it was free, second the summary grabbed my attention and I thought why not. I have no regrets. Thanks E. Ayers for a well thought out and written book. There were a few spelling and wording errors, but really nothing to get upset about.

Just couldn't connect with this story or the characters. The story just didn't seem realistic and I did not really feel any chemistry between the characters.

Oh how patient Mac was. I just loved their relationship. Such a sweet story, but a tad long.
