Following the death of his young wife, Devon has exiled himself to the lonely outrider’s cabin of his family’s ranch.
There, his solitude is shattered by the unexpected discovery of a young woman, thrown from a train in an obvious attempt at murder. Her memory gone.
Instinctively, he shelters and protects her. Hides her away from the world. As the two of them observe and help each other in the day-to-day workings of a modern ranch, their regard grows.
But they know that their new-found happiness is threatened. Somewhere, there is someone who wants to separate them. Someone who wants her dead. It will take all of their courage and ingenuity to unravel the mystery. And stay alive.

About the author

Diane Stringam Tolley

Raised on the last of the great old Southern Alberta ranches and trained in journalism, Diane recounts tales of growing up in the bend of the north fork of the Milk River. Author of countless short stories, articles, poems, plays, songs and novels, she brings a wealth of western family ideals to her writing.
Nothing intrigues more than a background story. And nothing is quite as peaceful as reliving the past.

They were raised together as brother and sister for almost their entire lives. Everyone was right, blood or no blood, it was incest. And this disaster of a a relationship wasn’t even the main romance, but the precursor, the “love of my life, have known she would be my wife forever, love of my life, dead wife.” Thank you, no. Plus tons of typos and other grammatical errors.
