Since human life began, we have been on an endless quest for fulfillment. We spend our lives avoiding pain and seeking joy, happiness, success, and beauty. Sometimes we find them - in a majestic sunset, a moment of passion, or a promotion at work - but the longings remain. What we are seeking is something deeper, something more...
In The Problem of Life, author and pastor Mark Clark provides principles for understanding the human condition, delving into the fundamental questions that define our existence - from the pursuit of purpose to the experience of pain and the desire for meaning. Drawing on biblical teaching, theology, philosophy, psychology, pop culture, and personal experiences, he weaves a rich tapestry of argument that points us to God as the remedy to our brokenness and the answer to our questions.

A very dense book written by a gifted pastor. I enjoyed the intensity and the case for Christ. It had a great hook at the beginning and a wonderfully impactful finish at the end.
4.5 ⭐️ rounded up This is dense with theological and spiritual wisdom and took me quite a bit of time to work through. Clark presents arguments even non-believers would consider the existence of a Maker and therefore a life after this one. Thankful for the eternal perspective and hope this book gives.
The Problem of Life is Mark Clark’s conclusion to his “problem of” trilogy. This is a solid book on life, longing, and how Jesus is inviting us into true life with him.
