Kathleen Fuller has written a cute and sweet Amish romance that will go on my favorites shelf. The main characters in this book are Daisy Hershberger and Perry Bontrager. Daisy lives in Dover Delaware. She thinks she’s in love with Maynard but he’s about as romantic as a cold fish. Perry is the only single brother in a large family of boys and one sister. He’d like to stay single because he was hurt once before in a relationship and that was enough for him. Then Daisy comes to Ohio to help her cousin with wedding plans. She gets to meet Perry when she finds her Aunt and Uncle are not at home. Over a period of time they become friends or so they think they are friends. Daisy’s mind is so preoccupied with Maynard and Perry is so set in his bachelor life that they don’t notice they are falling in love with each other.
Of course it wouldn’t be an Amish romance if there wasn’t matchmakers involved. There are a few of them in this story and Daisy and Perry decide to have a fake relationship to throw the matchmakers off. Daisy and Perry may fool the matchmakers but they can’t deny that they enjoy spending time together.
I haven’t read a lot of books by this Author. She has won me over and I will definitely read more of her books in the future. I thought the characters were well developed and I enjoyed getting to know them. I have not read the other books in this series but I was able to keep up with the story. It was entertaining, romantic, unpredictable and a page turner. I was totally drawn into the story plot . This cute sweet Amish romance is a keeper.
I highly recommend The Marriage Pact to readers of Amish Fiction, Women’s Fiction and Romance Fiction. This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. It is scheduled for release on 5/6/25.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed here in this review are solely my own.

Daisy is in love with Maynard, but unfortunately, he does not return the feeling. The author could not have made Maynard more boring in my eyes. Daisy’s patents are concerned about Daisy‘s love of Maynard so they send her to a relative’s home for the summer. At first Daisy is sad to be away from Maynard, but she quickly figures out that he is a lost cause. Daisy meets Perry and helps care for an older gentleman, and she impaired fall in love.

Five stars all the way! I’m so sad to be done with this book already! It had the best combination of fake dating, friends-to-lovers, and forced proximity—> absolutely loved every second of it!

Daisy is in love with Maynard, but he’s never shown interest in her. She decides to finally confess her feelings to him. But when her parents catch wind of her plan, they send her away to help her cousin with wedding plans. When Daisy arrives, she quickly realizes there's more to her visit than she expected. In Marigold, she meets her neighbor Perry. Daisy and Perry team up to help a family friend recover from an injury. As they become closer, they come up with the idea of fake dating. Daisy to get her mother off her back about Maynard, and Perry to make his mom stop trying to set him up. But as they spend more time together and pretend to date in front of family, the forced proximity leads to unexpected emotions. Their plan starts to work a little too well, and soon, hearts are at stake. Perry starts to pull away to avoid confusing his own feelings, and Daisy, who’s still in love with Maynard, finds herself questioning her attraction to Perry... Daisy always believed Maynard was who God chose for her, but was she wrong? Was Perry meant to be more than her friend?

Honestly, even if you’ve never read an Amish novel before, this is THE ONE to try! It’s that good!!! 10 stars! I need it in print ASAP! Hmm... should I read more books from this series?!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. This review reflects my honest opinion.

4.5 stars.
A very sweet, wholesome love story set in the Amish universe “The Marriage Pact”, by Kathleen Fuller, features two unique leads that gravitate towards each other despite opposing factors.
Perry and Daisy are such wonderful, adorable characters. Their personalities are slowly revealed and I loved how they fit together so well; the process of mutual discovery and trust is really written convincingly.
I adored how Perry’s character combines a tough job, which he likes and is competent in, with an absolutely delightful passion and a singular talent.
Daisy is full of contradictions, making her a very down-to-earth young woman: the dreamer, crushing stubbornly in an aloof man is the same person caring lovingly for an older, incapacitated man.
Her innocence/naiveté are sometimes perplexing; at the same time, she’s a grounded person.
Perry and his secret world are cute; he’s a bit of a nerd (with great forearms, as Daisy notes).
I liked how his issue was addressed.
I also loved the honesty and kindness between the leads and the characters in general.
I liked Ferman’s character, his role in the story and how he got so close to Perry and Daisy.
The light humor and some situations were cute and entertaining to read.

The Marriage Pact is the last book in the Amish of Marigold trilogy. Perry Bontrager is not looking for a wife, but his mother is working hard to find him a match. He is the last single brother of the 11 brothers. Meanwhile in Dover, Daisy Hershberger is sure that Maynard is the one for her, but it is obvious to everyone else that he isn't interested. Her parents decide to send her to her aunt's in Marigold to give her a change of scenery, but tell her that she is needed to help plan her cousin Grace's wedding. She meets their neighbour Perry meet shortly after she arrives and they realize that their parents won't leave them alone until they find someone to court. Not something Amish people usually do, but they pretend to do just that to get everyone off their backs. Daisy is hoping that Maynard will miss her and realize what he is missing while she courts Perry. There is a side story going on with a widower, Ferman, who lives alone and is having health issues. He works for Perry and needs help while he recovers. He moves in with Perry and he and Daisy help him to recover. She cooks for them, does laundry and basically takes care of both of them and the house. This puts them in close proximity with one another, often. Will this fake relationship become something more?

I really liked both Perry and Daisy. They were good together, had fun and were able to be themselves as their relationship was fake. Getting to know the real person had them enjoying themselves together. Daisy's cousin, Grace, was lovely and although she didn't need Daisy's help with the wedding, she liked having her near. They have a great relationship and she was working behind the scenes to make the Perry/Daisy relationship real. I think my favourite character was Ferman. He is 75 and doesn't want to live with one of his children. He tries to work, but has some medical problems. I loved how he worked to get Daisy and Perry together. It seemed everyone could see what they couldn't see. This is a wonderful story about caring people, looking after each other and how feelings develop, whether it is romantic love of friendship love. There is humour, a couple of tropes (fake romance, proximity), family interference, good clean fun and destiny. I will definitely be looking at books from her backlist. If you haven't read any Amish Fiction and would like to give it a try, I recommend this book. You don't have to have read the other two in the series to enjoy this one. I did a read/listen and enjoyed both formats. Lauren Berst narrates the audiobook and does a great job with these stories. I enjoyed her performance of this story.

Kathleen Fuller, you did it again! Your words make things come alive, and I’m so happy about it. There’s a lot I want to say about Daisy Hershberger and Perry Bontrager. I’m trying not to spill too much, though—I really want everyone to experience this one for themselves because everyone needs to read it.

I was miffed right away about Daisy’s insistence that she was in love with Maynard. I certainly didn’t feel the same. He seemed kind of boring it didn’t even feel like he liked her. And Perry? How did he not realize what was going on with his own feelings?! But honestly, with all the characters and storylines, it was Ferman who completely stole the spotlight.

This book was so clever. I found myself highlighting line after line—not just because they were hilarious, but because they were also surprisingly bold. I still can’t wrap my head around how a kisses-only romance managed to be both lighthearted and…well…steamy in the most unexpected ways. Some of Daisy’s thoughts took me by surprise. First, because you don’t usually expect that kind of inner monologue in an Amish romance. And second, because it acknowledged that Amish women are still women. Like the rest of us, they notice things! And Perry definitely wasn’t clueless either. I mean, the whole ankle-touching thing? Seriously. It blew my mind that something so seemingly innocent could feel both funny and low-key sensual. But it totally worked.

I absolutely loved how Daisy and Perry interacted with Ferman. The way they genuinely cared for him—without obligation or pressure—was incredibly touching. It wasn’t just about doing the “right” thing or sticking to cultural expectations. They wanted to be there. Ferman and Daisy being around all the time gave Perry a glimpse into what daily life could look like in a more domesticated situation. Something he didn’t think he wanted.

Okay, I need to stop myself here before I end up recounting the whole plot—because obviously, Kathleen Fuller tells it way better. If you're looking for something heartwarming, hilarious, and unexpectedly swoony, this should be the very next book you read.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Kathleen Fuller brings the giggles in this one! Daisy Hershberger is a joy, and Perry Bontrager is perfect for her but she can't see past her fixation on Maynard.

After a year of chasing after Maynard - inviting him for supper, baking treats for him, making sure she is anywhere he's going to be - Daisy Hershberger's parents have had enough. They know Daisy thinks she's "in love" and that Maynard loves her back, but shouldn't he show some interest? They devise a plan to send their daughter to help with her cousin Beth's wedding preparations. Never mind that the wedding is months away, and Beth and her parents are away on vacation, Daisy needs to go immediately.

Meeting Perry Bontrager upon her arrival, she realizes they have at least one thing in common: their mothers are eager to see them married to someone, anyone in Perry's case, and anyone but Maynard in Daisy's. As they work together to care for Perry's employee, Furman Eash, will they find they have even more in common than they thought?

I loved so many things about this story. First, I enjoyed reacquainting myself with the huge Bontrager clan! Fuller's Amish of Marigold series has been so fun to read. Second, Perry is such a great character. Were I Amish and a man, I would be him! I completely understood his need to get away from his large family's gatherings to find a spot of peace. I also loved that Daisy saw this, understood it, and encouraged him to pursue it. Third, I loved how Perry and Daisy connected over butterflies, the one thing he was most afraid for her to find out about him. Instead of thinking it a "childish hobby" like his last (and only) girlfriend had, Daisy is as fascinated as he is. Could she be "the one" and if she is, what should he do about Maynard?

Readers who love Amish fiction with a fun dose of humor will love the entire Amish of Marigold series, and in particular The Marriage Pact. I know I loved Perry and Daisy!

This was such a sweet story! I loved how the characters developed throughout the story. At first, Daisy seemed to be a little too much but she grew on me throughout the book with her unselfishness and compassion. Perry was a man who had been hurt in life but his care for people and butterflies was remarkable. One of my favorite characters was Ferman. I enjoyed him being the grumpy old man but still cared about those around him.

Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

This is my first Kathleen Fuller novel and I enjoyed this book. I didn't realize it was a Book 3 in a series until after I had finished it so it certainly works as a stand-alone novel too. The Marriage Pact tells the story of Perry, a single man in his 30s and the only single sibling of his huge Amish family, which means that his mother is trying very hard to help him find a wife. Facing the same pressure to marry from her Amish family is Daisy, who believes herself in love with a local man who is very standoffish. Daisy and Perry meet and decide to pretend to be interested in each other to get their mothers to back off from them. There is more to the story but no spoilers. I found all the characters likeable and the story made me want to keep reading to find out if the two would find love with each other or with others. Suffice it to say that this story gave me the happy ending that I love so much. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Firstly, I received a complimentary copy of this book, but Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I enjoyed from the beginning of this book to the end, the doubt, the hurt, the love, the everything. Sometimes, we can be blind to what's in front of us running after fake or what we think we need, not knowing we don't need it or have any use of it.

Thank you, Kathleen Fuller, for this pack story. I enjoyed it.

I love Amish reads and the Marriage Pact by Kathleen Fuller makes that statement in fact, true!

First of all, I have to say how funny and the kick I got out of hearing the main female lead, Daisy, was Daisy from Dover Delaware - being from Delaware, you very rarely hear a book or anything being from Delaware - so this always made me smile, when mentioned. So, Daisy from Dover - thinks she's in love with an Amish man who's almost 10 years older than her and she spends lots of time talking to her but doesn't really return any emotion back. Her mom knowing he's not the one for her, makes a plan to send her to Ohio to help her cousin plan her wedding.

Perry, is not your typical Amish man, he loves nature - watching butterflies, nursing them, drawing them - studying them. He once was in love and when she learned of his hobby, he quickly learned that he was meant for singlehood. Perry's family not knowing of his past hurts, tries at every turn to set him up.

Daisy and Perry, both having mothers who want what they think is best, make a pact to let their mother's think they are dating each other. Can this pact actually turn out to be the real thing?

This was a read that just left me smiling the whole way through!

The Marriage Pact is the third in An Amish Marigold Series by Kathleen Fuller. I loved this series. Daisy Hershberger, who lived in Dover, Delaware, fancies herself in love with Maynard Miller. I found myself saying he doesn’t like you…what in the world.. he is so not interested. Couldn’t for the life of me understand her infatuation when he gave zero encouragement. Her parents thought the same and sent her to Marigold Ohio to help her cousin plan her wedding. There she meets Perry Bontrager who is a Ferrier, keeps to himself, loves butterflies and is single to his mother’s dismay. Grumpy Ferman Eash needs a new hip and when he falls and moves in with Perry so he can heal, Daisy offers assistance. Let the matchmaking begin.

Kathleen Fuller has done another amazing job. I immediately fell in love with all the characters as they each brought something to the storyline and made the book enjoyable. It is always exciting to see how Gods plans come to light when it involves answered prayers on His time, not ours and especially when it turns out in a way that is totally unexpected. This is a delightful book as Daisy and Perry agree to act like they are in a relationship to keep their families from matching them up with other people. Find out if their plan backfires or if they are destined to be single the rest of their life. I highly recommend this book.

What a sweet Amish romance. Daisy’s parents send her to visit her cousin in hopes that she will realize the man she thinks she is in love with might not share her feelings. The neighbor she meets is known to keep to himself. That is until an old widower is suffering an injury and the two spend extra time together. Such a fun read from an amazing author.

This is Daisy Hershberger, her parents and her siblings's story.
This is Perry Bontrager, Mamm ,brothers and sister's story.
“Gute mariye.” Daed’s smile was strained and Mamm was practically stretching her handkerchief to the breaking point. “Have a seat.”
Her parents exchanged a look before her father spoke. “We just need to talk to you, that’s all.”
Alarmed, Daisy sat. “Is something wrong?”
“We have some news,” Mamm said, looking a little less stressed, although that might be because Daed was holding her hand now. “Aenti Rosella wants you to help her plan Grace’s wedding.”
Daisy grinned, no longer concerned. She loved planning weddings, and from all accounts, she was good at it. She excelled at organization, from her bedroom to her schoolwork to her cross-stitch supplies, and she had helped plan her four older sisters’ nuptials.
And then there was one . . .
Birch Creek, Ohio
Ten of the eleven Bontrager brothers gathered inside the family’s expansive horse barn on this chilly, early spring day to discuss the latest family quandary. Perry, their only single brother, was about to be in a peck of trouble.
He was back home in Marigold nursing a serious cold while Devon, their oldest brother who lived in Fredericktown, was in Birch Creek on a quick visit. Phoebe, the eldest Bontrager sibling and their one and only sister, wasn’t invited to this particular meeting. She had already tried to help him, to no avail.
I recommend this book.
The Marriage Pact by Kathleen Fuller is a 5 star book.

For over a year Daisy Hershberger has thought she is in love with Maynard; however, it is one sided. She has invited him to dinner, baked special treats for him and showing up anywhere he is. Maynard has never once shown her any special attention. She is so obsessed with Maynard that her parents send her to Marigold in hopes of getting Maynard off her mind. She is sent to stay with her cousin, Beth, on the pretext of helping her plan her cousin’s upcoming wedding. When she arrives at their home, no one is home. She goes next door, where she meets Perry.
Perry Bontrager lives next door to Beth. He is an odd sort; he is obsessed with butterflies; he prefers his own company to others. Perry’s family is convinced he will never find a woman willing to put up with him. His mother is always trying to match him up with some nice girl. Perry was hurt in the past and doesn’t want to be hurt again.
When Daisy and Perry meet, they aren’t sure what to make of each other. After a while they become good friends. Together they come up with a plan that should get his mother off his back and satisfy her family that she is meant to be with Maynard. She will pretend to be in love with Perry and he will help her convince Maynard that she is the one for him. They are so absorbed in butterflies and Maynard they do not see they are falling in love with each other.
Perry’s employee, Furman Eash is having a hard time getting around. His knee hurts and he’s having trouble walking. Perry brings him into his home and Daisy volunteers to help taking care of him.
This is a lovely Amish romance. Author Kathleen Fuller is a master of Amish romance. She throws in just the right amount of humor. This is the third book in the Amish of Marigold series. Perry is an interesting character he’s a bit nerdish with large biceps. Daisy is a determined dreamer. She is naïve and sort of innocent. Perry and Daisy are perfect for each other; they understand each other. There is another character in this book that stands out…Furman; he is funny, a bit of a grouch at times and a great match maker.

A new Amish romance set in a sect that is not quite a strict as others I have read about. Daisy has a crush on Maynard, and he comes over to see her fairly often, but he is a cold fish. Her parents are not too fond of this match, so they get the idea to send her to visit her cousin, Grace, who is engaged. They tell Daisy that Grace needs help planning her wedding, even though it is several months away. A dutiful daughter, Daisy goes off to see her cousin in another state but tries to get Maynard to commit to her in some way before she goes, but that is a fruitless endeavor.

When Daisy arrives at her cousin’s house, no one is home so she wanders over to the neighbor to see if he knows where they are. She meets Perry, a young man with a successful farrier business but he doesn’t know where the family is. They chat a bit and it seems they have something in common. Perry comes from a very large family and he is the only one who isn’t married. He feels like an outsider in this community because the woman he had courted rebuffed him, and he figures he’ll just always be single, but his mother is working overtime to find him someone. Daisy’s family wasn’t thrilled with Maynard, but they want Daisy to find someone, too, and are hopeful her cousins will find her someone.

Meanwhile, Perry hires an older man to help him with his business but he gets hurt, and ends up staying in Perry’s tiny house as he recovers. Daisy feels bad for him and comes over to help out. As Perry and Daisy get to know one another, they come up with a scheme – they will tell their parents that they are dating. Daisy hopes to make Maynard jealous, and Perry wants his mom to step back a bit. But both are too honest to keep the ruse going for very long, and all their plans are upended as they realize they have fallen in love.

This was a sweet Amish romance, a fast read, and a perfect escape. I didn’t realize it was the third book of a series, so it easily stands alone – and I get to go hunt down the first two books in the series.

Perry Bontrager has four brothers. All of which are married and very happy. They are determined to find Perry a wife. The only problem with that is that Perry doesn't want a wife. He wants his family to leave him alone, as he is convinced he can be quite happy staying single. Perry moves to Marigold. Still close to his family, but hopefully, enough distance between them that they will give up on their matchmaking.
Then, there is Daisy, who is very convinced that Maynard is the man for her. Maynard shows no interest and it is only her prodding that they ever spend time together. Daisy's mother is concerned and makes arrangements for Daisy to go spend some time at her aunt and uncle's house in Marigold. She sent her there under false pretenses that Daisy would be helping her cousin plan her wedding which is some time off.
While there, it is Daisy who is calling Maynard and writing letters. Maynard doesn't have much to say when she is able to reach him on the phone.
Perry is neighbors with Daisy's family, so it was inevitable that they would meet. They eventually confide in each other, and Perry agrees to help Maynard realize what he is missing with Daisy. He gives her tips on writing letters to Maynard, giving her things to write that will shake Maynard up a bit. Daisy, in turn, will pretend she and Perry are a couple. Their hope is that these things will pacify their families and the matchmaking efforts will cease. Read this story to see how it all turns out!
This is a very sweet story from one of my favorite authors, Kathleen Fuller.

The Marriage Pact by Kathleen Fuller, book three of An Amish of Marigold series, is an inspiring and heartwarming fake relationship, love, mistakes, compassion, forgiveness, meddling families, and faith. Daisy Hershberger, from Dover, Delaware, believes she is in love with Maynard Miller, but he’s never shown interest in her or given her any encouragement. She decides she needs to confess her feelings to him; maybe he will get the hint. When her when her parents catch wind of her plan, they send her Marigold Ohio to help her cousin with her wedding plans. After arriving, she meets their neighbor, Perry Bontrager, when she discovers her Aunt and Uncle are not at home. Daisy quickly realizes there might be more to her visit than she thought.

Meeting Perry, she realizes they have at least one thing in common: their mothers are eager to see them married to someone, anyone in Perry's case, and anyone but Maynard in Daisy's. As they work together to care for Perry's employee, Furman Eash, they just might find they have even more in common than they thought.

As they spend time together, they become closer, and get the idea of fake dating. As they spend more time together, pretending to date in front of family, the forced proximity leads to unexpected emotions. Daisy’s mind is so preoccupied with Maynard and Perry is so set in his bachelor life that they don’t notice they are falling in love with each other.

Ms Fuller wrote a heartwarming romance between two deserving, compassionate people. I loved how Perry and Daisy connected over butterflies, the one thing he was most afraid for her to find out about him. With some unexpected twists and turns of events, and you are left with a very entertaining story of love, faith, and new beginnings that is a pure delight to read.

She slipped her hand into his to seal the pact.

I enjoyed this book so much I have read it twice. I don't think I've ever read a book twice in a year let alone 4 months' time.
I want to thank Harper Collins Christian Publishing/Zondervan and NetGalley for my advanced reader's copy of the book. This is my own unsolicited opinion.

Daisy Hersberger knew the second she laid eyes on Maynard that God intended for them to be a couple. For over a year she has constantly invited him for meals at her parents' home, took part in activities where he was and visited him at work. It's about time for them to make plans.
Perry Bontrager is fed up with his mother's matchmaking schemes. He's the last of the Bontrager men to remain single and he likes it that way. Suddenly Daisy's parents send her to help with her cousin's wedding plans. Perry is a neighbor to her family, and they meet in a comical way. Soon the two make a pact to pretend they are seeing one another to get their parents off of their backs.
Right away it was obvious that Perry has a kind heart. He is a person who does for others. He has a problem with crowds, even a family gathering. Daisy is quite naive and so convinced that Maynard is her future. Assuming she knows God's plan is interesting and a little sad. I like how the two characters change over the course of the story.
There are two more characters in the story that pulled at my heart. Ferman Eash is an older widowed man that is very stubborn. He is such an excellent character. His pain and stubbornness is understandable. Series fans will notice characters from the Bontrager family.
A certain butterfly has a very special place in the story too.
This is the third and final book of Kathleen Fullers' Amish of Marigold series. It can work as a stand-alone, but I want to recommend the other books where more Bontrager brothers meet their romantic matches. This clean, sweet romance is a five-star read for me.

This book sucked me in so deeply that I couldn't put it down hardly at all throughout the day, so I finished it in that time. I really enjoyed it.

Daisy has been so in love with Maynard. He comes over for dinner. They just sort of sit together. She can't wait to be his girlfriend. The one problem is that he shows absolutely no regard for wanting to take that step beyond friendship. She does whatever she can to make him peach pies and more so he will long for her. Her parents don't really like him and think she should move on. That's when they decide to send her from Delaware to Ohio to help her cousin Grace plan for her wedding.

When Daisy arrives at her family's home in Ohio, no one is there. She decides to try to see if the neighbor knows where they are. When she arrives, she ends up meeting an Amish man named Perry. Perry has a huge family with ten brothers and a sister. He is the only one who is unmarried, and he is okay with being single. He likes his business he runs and enjoyed being alone. When he sees Daisy, she ends up coming over a lot to help him with his only employee, an elderly widower who gets injured and ends up staying with him.

The way this story builds up is really cute. I am assuming this is based on a slightly less conservative Amish sect, as there seems to be a bit more electricity and leeway for things like landlines in homes. I do like the whole love triangle situation that takes place too. I smiled a lot while reading this and teared up a few times too.

5 stars, Thank God for Unanswered Prayers

THE MARRIAGE PACT: AMISH OF MARIGOLD SERIES, BOOK 3
by Kathleen Fuller

In Birch Creek, Ohio, Perry Bontrager, 31 is a humble Amish man who is a single, horseshoer for his community. He is perfectly happy with his life, but his mother is not. Their family is quite large and Perry is the only unmarried member. His mother is determined to see her wayward son wed.

In Dover, Delaware, Daisy Hershberger, 25 is in love with a wonderful man, named Maynard Miller. Her mother and father are concerned about Daisy's infatuation. Daisy suddenly gets sent to Marigold, Ohio to help her cousin and her aunt plan her cousin's upcoming wedding.

Perry and Daisy meet and begin to talk about the plans that their parents have for them. They decide to have a pretend relationship, to get them out of the uncomfortable positions caused by their families.

Ferman Eash, is an interesting character, I really like him and Perry.

I think often of the unanswered prayers in my own life. Looking back and being so glad this or that didn't happen the way that I thought it should have at the time.

I thankfully received a complimentary copy of #TheMarriagePact from #NetGalley @WriterKathleenFuller #HarperCollinsChristianPublishing I was not obligated to post a review.

Well wasn't that sweet?
Take a step into Amish World and meet Daisy from Dover who is totally and completly 100% in love with Maynard. We also have Perry and singleton who seems pretty committed to living a life alone. Daisy is eager to spill her feelings to Maynard and her parents ship her off to Marigold, and she promises to hold off and date other men because they fear Maynard is not for her. Perry's family continues to try to set him up. However when circumstances arise: Daisy and Perry are forced to help the towns crumudgeon back to health, Daisy and Perry come up with the perfect plan: fake date to get their family's off their backs.

This was a very sweet and clean love story. As you can imagine there is not much depth, but I loved for once reading a book where the man was a strong character. He treated Daisy with such respect. I also appreciated the moral conflict and respect Daisy and Perry reflected in their deceit. In addition to women seeking a clean lovestory, this would be a perfect book to give to a teen to read. It provides a good model of a healthy "normal" relationship and nothing worldly (obviously.....they are amish)
I only held back 1 star because I felt like Daisy was rather immature at times, and overall the book was a bit shallow. But guess what? I smiled the whole time!

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to review The Marriage Pact. I was not paid for this honest review.

Take an introverted Amish bachelor with an unusual hobby, add an extroverted Amish woman confused about love and you have the makings for a charming love story full of hope and laughter. Especially when you take into consideration the out-of-the-norm matchmaker working behind the scenes. Or trying to.

The first chapter features ten meddling brothers needling the lone bachelor in their midst — all kinds of cute and funny. But Perry’s just fine with his marital status (or lack thereof) thank you very much. He has a business to run and an absorbing hobby to occupy his spare time. What more could a fella want? Or so he thinks until ‘Daisy from Dover’ arrives on the scene.

The way their inauspicious meet-cute evolves into a fake dating scenario makes for an entertaining read. Of course their ruse backfires when real feelings become involved and it gets messy and a wee bit angsty before everything is all sorted, much to my bookish delight!

A classic Amish romance told in Kathleen Fuller’s engaging storytelling style, enhanced for me by Laura Berst’s winning narration. She’s a familiar voice in my Amish fiction listening and I enjoy the energy she brings through her performances.

My thanks to Thomas Nelson, Zondervan Fiction Audio and Net Galley for providing me with an audio edition of this book.

All the books I've read by this author are beautifully written and filled with heartfelt stories. This book is the final installment in the Amish of Marigold series.
Daisy is convinced that Maynard is the lifelong partner God has intended for her. However, Maynard doesn't seem to share Daisy's certainty. Concerned for her well-being, Daisy's parents, who don't view Maynard in the same light as Daisy, arrange for her to visit her cousin in another state for an extended period.
At her cousin's house, Daisy meets Perry, her cousin's neighbor. Both share their stories: Daisy's frustrations with Maynard and Perry's situation, where his mother is constantly searching for a wife for him, as he is the only unmarried sibling among many. Perry, happy being single, believes that is his destiny.
Daisy and Perry form a pact to support each other. Perry advises Daisy to play "hard to get," while Daisy agrees to be his pretend girlfriend to appease Perry's mother. Their plan has its fair share of ups and downs, as one might expect.
This is a sweet, heartwarming story filled with lovable and memorable characters.

This is a sweet story by Kathleen Fuller. "The Marriage Pact" is a story that centers around Daisy and Perry. Daisy thinks she is in love with Maynard even though he hasn't shown any interest in her being his girlfriend. When Daisy's mother sends her to help her cousin Grace with her wedding plans, she meets Perry, their neighbor. Daisy doesn't know that her mother and aunt are conspiring to get her away from Maynard and her infatuation with him. As time goes on, Daisy and Perry come together to take care of a friend who is having hip problems. Ferman moves in with Perry. Daisy stays during the day to help while Perry is at work. Daisy and Perry are attracted to each other but the thought of Maynard keeps them apart. Will Daisy realize she doesn't love Maynard? Will Perry reveal his true feelings to Daisy? You'll need to read this book and find out. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own. This book releases May 6th. #netgalley #themarriagepact #harpercollinschristianpublishing #zondervan

I caught myself laughing out loud more than once while reading this fun Amish romance story. Daisy was so ready to be in love that she convinced herself she was in love with Maynard, a man who had shown no interest in her, and just when she was preparing to have “the talk” with him, her parents caught wind of it and sent her to visit her cousin, Grace, in the town of Marigold where she met Grace’s next door neighbor, Perry Bontrager. Perry’s new employee, an older man named Ferman, had been injured at work and was staying at Perry’s house. Kind-hearted, energetic, and capable Daisy offered to stay with Ferman during the day and care for him while Perry was at work. Eventually Daisy and Perry made a secret pact with one another to pretend they were dating in order to make Maynard jealous and to make Perry’s matchmaking mother quit trying to set him up. Naturally, things turned upside down in the most amusing and entertaining way. I loved it! I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
