The Blood of Athena_ is a fun and thrilling young adult read that blends pirates, Greek mythology, love, friendship, and found family. The story is packed with exciting plot twists, and the characters' relationships feel authentic and heartfelt. While the twists and story line keeps you on the edge of your seat, the found family theme adds emotional depth.

It’s worth noting that the book is very much YA and contains no spice, making it suitable for a broad audience. With its engaging twists and rich mythology, I’m eagerly awaiting the third book!

The Blood of Athena by Amelia June is a riveting dive into a world where ancient Greek mythology meets contemporary life. The story follows the journey of a young woman who discovers she's the descendant of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war. As she unravels the mysteries of her heritage, she’s thrust into a conflict that’s been simmering for centuries, one that could determine the fate of both gods and mortals.

June’s writing is vivid and evocative, effortlessly transporting readers between the realms of gods and humans. The pacing is well-crafted, with just the right balance of action, intrigue, and character development. Corrina is relatable, strong, yet vulnerable, making her journey one that’s easy to invest in. The secondary characters, both divine and mortal, are equally well-drawn, adding depth to the story.

Overall, The Blood of Athena is a thrilling read for fans of mythology, fantasy, and strong female leads. Amelia June has crafted a tale that’s both entertaining and thought-provoking, leaving me eager for the next book!

Amazing book, amazing story... I Love the magic system. I love that it is a Greek mythology that is actually so good and not repetitive like most Greek mythologies. It's an easy to get into read... I Love the characters I felt that I really connected with them even though it was in third person... I definitely recommend to anyone who lives a good fantasy or Greek mythology.

I was lucky enough to receive a free copy of this book before its release. The Blood of Athena is a wonderful follow up to the Daughter of Atlantis. This book is part of a YA series that explores Greek mythology. It’s easy to feel connected with the characters, through sprinkles of romance, found family, and plot twists gripping attention throughout the storyline. I’ve loved following Corinna’s development through each book as such a strong female discovering who she needs to be.

Found family (one of my favs), Greek Mythology, sea monsters that will completely fascinate you and also haunt your dreams, pirates, a healthy dose of beautiful writing and a sprinkling of romance (not spicy). Mix that with suspense that will keep the pages turning and all the feels to go along with it and you have The Blood of Athena!!

This story picks up with Corinna returning to her home, Atlantis only to find her once betrothed has seized the throne and has been conquered by the God of War that now holds him and has drove him mad (so to speak). With Jace by her side, she struggles to accept her full power and her destiny. Will she save her city? Will she learn to control her power and save Olympus??

As a huge fan of Greek Mythology and mythology in general, I could not wait to get my hands on this book. This take on the mythology was refreshing and didn’t seem like a regurgitation of other renditions, which is much appreciated. Beautiful magic system and great character development from the first book to this one. This is a second book without having the second book syndrome. So many times, sequels of books and movies get lost in the shuffle and don’t live up to the hype of the first installment… this one did NOT have that problem. The twins, Leon and Leta, were a beautiful addition to the characters and are some of my favorites!!

The Blood of Athena was SUCH an excellent sophomore novel from Amelia June. Building off of the rich world of The Daughter of Atlantis, we pick up where the first book left off. I love the heroine, Corinna, and her love interest, Jace, the handsome pirate. We're talking Will Turner vibes here. Just trust me. The way the tension between them developed was perfect. The gentle touches and pining had me on the edge of my seat waiting for one of them to finally give in to their building feelings. I was NOT disappointed!

The found family aspect is even stronger in this book with new faces to love. And of course, a new ship I was obsessed with! Amelia had better not touch Flynn in the next book because he is a treasure!

Seeing the shift in Ilias, Corinna’s ex-fiancé, as Ares took full control of his body, was also a highlight. Love a good villain. I also really loved that Ilias will be able to have a redemption arc!

The build-up to Corinna finally accepting her special abilities, and the huge end battle, was amazing!!! The stakes have never been higher, and I can’t wait to see how this EPIC series concludes!

The Blood of Athena by Amelia June
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I am so excited to talk about this one because this series has awoken my love for Pirates 🏴‍☠️ I love me a good man who's willing to protect his girl at all costs.

This book has a little bit of everything for everyone.
🫂Found family (some of the best out there)
🗡Enemies to lovers
🏴‍☠️PIRATES (I have to at least mention that for a second time)
🦑Sea Monsters
🌿Greek Mythology
🫣Uncovered identities

The list goes on and on, and as suspenseful as this book was at times, I still felt all warm and cozy reading it. ☺️

I did have a point where I got confused about the different Gods and what the book was alluding to, but if you know a lot about mythology or are willing to do a quick Google search you're in a good spot!

I'm so sad it's over. I need more 🥹

I just finished this yesterday, and I absolutely loved it! It's such a nice spin on Greek mythology, and the character arcs, the plot twists, all made it a gripping read!

I adore the FMC, Corinna. She's strong and cares for those around her. Despite what she's been through, she rises up to the challenge, and that kind of character arc always gets me a little weepy. I love seeing someone overcome and step into their power 👏🏼

Ugh, and Jace 🤌🏼😏 Iykyk 🤭

The romance was sweet, which is something I always love to see. They take care of each other and have full belief in each other 🫶🏼

*mild spoiler* when Corinna is given the space to finish things during the fight, because he knows she's capable and deserves to get that revenge 😭 There were so many good moments, but Corinna during the end... really trying not to spoil, but it was so cool to see her grow as a character!

PLEASE READ BOOK 1 - The Daughter of Atlantis - BEFORE READING THIS OR IT WILL NOT MAKE ANY SENSE!

Now for my review, after I finished TDOA, I ran to my kindle and snatched this bad boy out because I NEEDED to know what happened next. And let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed. My emotions were all over the place with this story. I laughed, I cried, I was angry. Everything. I loved it so much and I feel like Mrs. Amelia should feel proud of herself because I always said fantasy would be a genre I’d never read… yet here I am.. THANK YOU for changing my mind and I am BEGGING for book 3, because that cliffhanger? Just plain RUDE!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 stars!

Calling all readers who grew up reading books by Rick Riordan, all Greek Mythology lovers in general, and Pirate lovers, this book is for you!

This book involved so many great things, such as an enemies-to-lovers trope and found family. The characters have grown so much since the first book, and the overall plot was very enjoyable. 'The Blood of Athena' was easy to get into and an amazing read, as well as an amazing follow-up to the first book. As someone who doesn't usually enjoy fantasy, this book was a big deal for me because I haven't read a fantasy book that hooked me like this in a long time.

Some books, when you read them, have plot twists that make me just need to take a breather because they hit you that good, and Blood of Athena is one of those books. This novel is nothing short of a masterpiece, this series had me gripped at “Greek mythology”. Blood of Athena is an evoking novel following Corinna and her found family as they grapple with the rising threat of war from Ares, the God of War himself. Luckily, Corinna has an advantage with her powers, which she struggles with - the fate of Olympus rests with her. The way this novel ends leaves you gripped and yearning for more.

ARC Reader Review:
Another book with a continuation of a good plot! I really enjoyed seeing how June played with the characters development throughout the book. I like that this Greek Mythology installment was more fresh and not just a copy and paste of other ones.

The only thing I think could make the book even better is the pacing. There are times throughout it where it seems like everything was happening so fast instead of a gradual happening. There seemed to be a bit more of “tell” then “show” at times.

I always know I’ll rate a book well when I end up gasping out loud at some part of the book. In this case, it was at least 3-5 times.

Also I love the relationship between Corinna and Jace. I love the wholesome banter that will still make you chuckle and the sweet moments between them.

The ending was not as much of a cliffhanger as the previous book but I’m okay with that and am definitely interested to see what June does in the next installment (there better be one!! 👀🙏🏽)

In the second novel of this series, The Blood of Athena takes us to war for the people of Atlantis.

I really enjoyed this book, and I am glad I took the time to read the first book before diving into this one. I was selected to be an ARC reader and I am so thankful.

I truly enjoy Greek Mythology, and sometimes it can get a little boring, but not this.

I will also say that this series has some love but no spice and is suitable for the YA audience.

This was a new to me author, but anything with Greek mythology piques my interest. This story starts off rather slowly with lots of training, but stick with it because it leads up to an epic showdown between the protagonist and villain. The protagonist was relatable, but she also grew throughout the story into the leader her people needed her to be.
