CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: Get It Done – Do It Right – Make It Stick

Rate this book
Most organizations today have adopted improvement programs or applied methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma and have enjoyed significant improvements. Unfortunately, too many of these organizations see their gains fade very quickly. The improvements do not stick because they are too reliant on the individuals who initially implemented them, and when they move on elsewhere so do their know-how and the discipline that many improvements require to sustain the gains. Moreover, several organizations are only able to achieve localized or pockets of improvements because of a lack of alignment and cohesiveness across the organization. Everyone is on their own so to speak.
World Class companies are generally those who are able to sustain the gains and continuously improve across the whole organization. They have achieved and are able to sustain operational excellence because they have an integrated management system guided by fundamental principles. Toyota is probably the best- and well-known example. The Toyota Production System is their management philosophy and practices to continuously improve the business by identifying and eliminating waste. In essence, it is a Continuous Improvement Management System.
This book presents a framework and integrated approach to truly making continuous improvement a way of life within an organization. There are really no new concepts or improvement methods being suggested here. It is more so about bringing together leading practices to orchestrate continuous improvement across an organization under the three facets of Get It Done, Do It Right, and Make It Stick.
The Continuous Improvement Management System (CIMS) presented in this book is the culmination of the author's over 40 years of practical experience across various industries.
