Dragons have come to Sweetwater! With their help, can the pack finally put an end to the attacks by the Northarbor aviary?
Deke never imagined he would find a fated mate, much less a dragon like Ozyn, a species thought to be extinct. He has to wonder at fate's plans not only for him, but for the pack he protects. Could his omega be the key to turning the tide in the war with the aviary? Or should he step down as Head Enforcer and help Ozyn heal from a century trapped under the fae? His heart tells him to covet his omega, but Ozyn is fiercely protective of his alpha and has other plans.
Finding Deke gave Ozyn the strength to break free of the fae and heal from his imprisonment. Ozyn wants to be the perfect omega for his wolf mate, give him all the babies he wants, and just live at peace. If only the humans and aviary would let them. After so long shut in the dark, all he wants is to be free to fly in the light, and he'll do anything to make that happen.
His Feral Omega Mate is the sixth, and final, book in the Sweetwater Pack series. It contains a number of potentially upsetting themes such as imprisonment, abuse, forced pregnancy ending in miscarriage, and violent scenes. Please check the author's website for more detailed information.
It is the end of the Sweetwater Pack series. I’m still not sure I’m ready for it. As we left His Temporary Alpha Mate, we knew Deke had been injured and we got a glimpse of a very angry dragon. His Feral Omega Mate opens with a desperate Ozyn, former King of the dragons, former captive of the Fae King, trying to find his mate. He’d been abused for so long, he’d gone feral. The spark of his fated mate and The Luna kept him going. He finds Deke in a coma and immediately sets to using his magic to heal him and wake him up. This isn’t easy on a malnourished Ozyn and soon he needs time to rest. Deke is grateful that His Luna didn’t forget him and gave him a fated mate that is perfect for him. So he takes his time making sure that Ozyn feels cherished and soon their bond blossoms.
So much happens in this book. The quips and one liners are outstanding. My all time favorite in chapter five and that’s saying something as this book is absolutely beautiful. I am a bit blood thirsty and was super happy for Ozzy to get his vengeance.
I always wondered if there would be a plan for Deke. We know Chase didn’t want a relationship, that he was happy going from house to house for his niblings. Oh I love that word!! But Chase and his brothers, they did worry for Deke. To see him meet Ozzy and find his fated, even though Ozzy had been mistreated, none of it mattered to Deke. He was just grateful to be able to have that romance and family that his cousins did.
Again, Jax melds families in this book and makes Sweetwater that much more wonderful. Dragons are back and the Fae are open to healing relationships. Ozyn doesn’t come alone to Sweetwater, he brings his first clutch, his brothers, and Safi. The dragons become visitors to Sweetwater and lend a hand when needed in the fight against the Aviary. The Sweetwater Pack has been such a sweet adventure. It has been full of love, faith, and intrigue. I’m still not ready for it to be over, but His Feral Omega Mate brought the series to a particularly beautiful ending in my opinion.
When I finished His Temporary Alpha Mate and realized dragons were coming to Sweetwater I couldn't have been more excited!! I mean, it's dragons!! Who doesn't love them, am I right? Not anyone I want to associate with that's for sure.
The start of this book broke my freakin heart. I may have even yelled at Jax for what she put poor Ozyn through for so long. I cannot imagine how strong of a dragon he must be to have survived not only all he endured in captivity, but to then escape with the goal of protecting his mate.
We all know what happened to Deke in the last book, so it made me so happy to know Deke was finally getting his mate. I liked how overprotective Ozyn was of Deke. It didn't matter that Deke was an alpha. Ozyn was a dragon and he was going to make sure nothing else happened to his mate on his watch. It was also quite lovely watching Ozyn begin to heal and come out of his shell, especially with his mate by his side.
It's a good thing dragons have made their way to Sweetwater because the Aviary has been upping their game for some time. I'm glad that storyline was wrapped up before this series came to an end. Though it is bittersweet for me to say goodbye to the Sweetwater pack series, I can't say I am not super pumped for the spin off series hopefully featuring some of the amazing dragons we meet in this book. Not to mention a couple of nannies who are just the sweetest things and definitely deserve their HEAs as well!
Once again, if you are the author or love this book, I suggest you skip reading this review (not that I'm expecting anyone besides myself to read it). I really only have three things to say:
1. I don’t know if there really was a drop in quality, or if I’m just misremembering, but I recall the first 2 books being much better than all the other books, especially in terms of storytelling. But honestly, I am not curious enough to ever re-read those books again and find out. And I am still firm in my decision not to read any more JS books. I just won’t enjoy them and it isn’t fair to me or her to read her other books only to give them low star ratings.
2. Which brings me nicely to my second point. The best thing this author and series did was how I was always hoping for an improved storytelling and kept coming back to read each subsequent entry. Sadly, I was severely disappointed, but I acknowledge that it’s impressive that despite how much I didn’t like these books, I still felt compelled to come back and finish the series. Tbh I resent myself for not having the conviction to dnf.
3. Lastly, I won’t spend a lot of time detailing my issues with this specific book. It’s just gonna be a rehashing of all the same issues I had with the previous books, so I’ll let those reviews speak for my feelings about this book too. Plus I did write some of my thoughts in the progress updates. I’ll just say that I once again did not like this book’s MCs or how they thought and behaved, I found the prose severely lacking, and the story way beyond unfunnily ridiculous. At least it’s all over now and I can put this whole series away and move on.
This is such a wonderful, perfect, bittersweet ending to a great series. Ozyn has been to hell and back and has survived for his mate. When he bursts through the portal into Sweetwater's pack, he's on a mission and no one's going to stop him. With the last of his magic and energy, he saves Deke. Deke has felt something pulling at him since the portal first opened. When he opens his eyes to Ozyn, he understands what that pull was. These two are bound together as soon as they meet. They take things slowly getting to know each other before they finally have their mating. They each accept the family the other has brought to the relationship and are happy for them. The troubles in the Sweetwater Pack are coming to a head and the mayor turns out to be someone I never would've expected. The characters from the previous books have returned with updates to their lives, without it pulling away from Ozyn and Deke's story.
This book is my absolute favorite of the series. The character and world building continue to expand. The story is not only gripping but has a deep well of love, hope and acceptance. I loved that Ozyn as an omega wasn't seen or treated as weak. He survives something completely horrendous and keeps his sanity and ability to love. I love that Ozyn gave Safi a chance to prove his loyalty and they formed a close bond. Deke felt like a failure and even the love of his cousins didn't heal him but Ozyn did. I loved all the mingling of fantasy, paranormal and human aspects. So many different types of characters to learn and love. This book has a lot of love, healing and building. Definitely worth reading the whole series. Sorry to see it end. Looking forward to reading about the side couples. 😍
The last book in the Sweetwater Pack series is jammed pack with action and mated steam. It starts with the King of Dragons, Ozyn, becomes consort and then captive of the King of the Fae. He's stripped of his magic and tortured for a century, becoming feral. Released by the Fae King's youngest brother, they make their way through the Elven portal to Sweetwater. Deke Sweetwater is the pack's Chief Enforcer and cousin to the Alpha. Watching so many pack members find their mates, he wonders if he will ever find his. An attack by the Aviary leaves him mortally wounded and that's how Ozyn finds him. It's a wild ride. Ozyn's feralness makes it impossible to bond right away. And we are treated to a hot, sizzling tension between the two. Meanwhile, there are more attacks on the compound. And it's only the arrival of the dragons that saves the day. I loved how thirty something, Deke, ends up with five very adult, by three hundred years, sons. And I love how, in a world where nudity is the usual, both Orzyn and Deke get growly whenever someone catches site of their naked mate. Orzyn's over possessiveness is a bit over the top. Deke is a gentle and considering mate. His slow seduction of his mate is steamy and sweet. I was glad of the glossary of names and pack positions in the front of the book. It was extremely helpful with keeping track of the different mates. All of whom populate this story. This has been a wonderful series. Book six had some tall boots to fill. And Jax Stuart does not disappoint. I'm sorry that the series ends here, but most of the loose ends are resolved. There is a mating, or two that needs resolving. And Stuart dangles the hope of another series in this universe. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my review.
This is the sixth and final book in the Sweetwater Pack series and it is amazing. You must read this series in order to have a hope of following along the storyline. This book carries on from where book 5 His Temporary Alpha Mate ends. It starts with Deke seriously injured and fighting for his life at the clinic. Deke is an alpha shifter and and Head Enforcer of the Sweetwater Pack. Ozyn was the King of the Dragons until he was imprisoned by the King of the Fae. For decades he survived by focusing on his mate that he knew was out there somewhere. When Ozyn realizes his mate needs his help so survive, it is the push that he needed to escape. Along with the Fae King's youngest brother, he flies through the Elven portal to Sweetwater to save Deke with what little magic he has left. Everyone is astounded when Ozyn shows up. It is widely believed that dragons were wiped out to extinction. They are shocked when one shows up to save Deke. Obviously Ozyn needs time to heal and recover from his years of imprisonment and abuse. Deke doesn't care. He is beyond happy to finally have been granted a mate. This is their story. The book is very well written. I loved watching this couple grow into a couple. As well as the introduction of Ozyn's family. But that is not the only problem that the Sweetwater Pack has to deal with. There is lots of action and a betrayal. I loved the story and was sad when I came to the end of the book.
I received a complementary advanced review copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is truly one of my favorite series and it’s bittersweet to see it ending. I love how the journey has progressed and how everything wraps up for the Sweetwater Pack. And although the stories from Sweetwater are complete, I’m looking forward to the spinoffs and seeing some of these new characters.
Deke has been one of the constants from the very beginning of the series with Blake and Kade’s story. He was alpha before Blake took over and seeing him finally get his own HEA was great. The prior book gave us a sneak peek at his mate and we meet Ozyn, a dragon shifter king from the other side of the portal who has faced so much adversary while imprisoned by his horrible fae husband.
For those that have been reading this series and the progression of events, I won’t spoil how things wrap up but it was a satisfying conclusion for the troubles the pack has faced especially over the last few books. It felt full circle seeing all the characters from prior books in this one and it was just a great wrap up for this series.
I loved meeting new characters in this book and look forward to reading their stories in future books. Ozyn’s sons seem like interesting characters and I can’t wait to read more about them and their future mates and of course I am looking forward to Safi story!
What a magnificent world we have here! The author excels at creating fantastic environments.
Deke is an alpha shifter wolf, and Head Enforcer of the Sweetwater Pack. He yearns for a mate, a companion. Luna promised him a mate, he has to be patient.
Ozyn is a beautiful omega dragon King who was lured into a marriage with a cruel man who wanted only an heir and kept him prisoner for decades and decades. Ozyn gave up at some point and retreated into himself. Until, he felt his fated mate, his fated mate in need of help. You have to find out yourself how, but Ozyn got to his mate.
So that’s it? Noooo, there are hundreds of matters in this story before there’s a final HEA. And oh boy what a journey!
What a beautiful conclusion to this series. I enjoyed every installment hugely! If you love a good layered fantasy world with magical creatures, with action, heat, and adventure, this series is for you.
In this last book we meet Deke, wolf alpha and head enforcer for the pack, who was very nearly killed in the last book. Also Ozyn, omega, former king of the dragons who has been kept prisoner by the evil fae king for a century, but finally manages to break free when he senses his fated mate in mortal danger.
We also meet Ulrian again, the fae mayor who has caused the pack so much trouble by not doing his job properly, and discover his surprising heritage. There's an influx of dragons, and a final showdown with the bird shifters at the aviary who have been attacking the clan and their fanatical alpha. Last but not least, we get a ton of new babies!
SWEETWATER PACK Book #6. What a glowing tribute to this pack!! Holding their faith in the Luna, Love and Laughter can be found. JAX STUART has taken great care to bring adventure, bonds, laughter and love to this mixed pack of Shifters. Deke is injured badly. Ozyn is a Dragon Shifter held captive in another realm. Sensing his mate through the portal he knows he must escape before it's too late. Sweetwater is in great danger. This is a world created by this Author. Mixed Shifters, lots of Babies, and love by the truck loads. This being the last book makes this bittersweet for me. I've enjoyed this adventure so much. This has an EPILOGUE that is MAGNIFICENT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS SWEETWATER PACK SERIES!!!!!!!!!!
I have loved this entire series, this final book does not disappoint at all. First off, come on, it's got DRAGONS!! Everyone had thought dragons were extinct until one showed up looking for his mate. Of course chaos ensues because he’s a dragon and that is freaking everyone out. This story is so sweet, the care shown between Deke and Ozyn for each other's wants and needs. Especially how Deke is so aware of things that may trigger Ozyn after everything he has endured the past many years. I know this is the last book for the Sweetwater Pack, but I really hope we get glimpses of them in future spin offs.
His Feral Omega Mate is the 6th and final book in the Sweetwater Pack series. I feel this series is best read in order. Please read the trigger warnings before you start this book. This is the story of Ozyn an omega dragon shifter and Deke an alpha wolf shifter. I wanted to yell at Jax for all she made poor Ozyn go through in the beginning of the story but I have to say it made me love Ozyn so much. These two are just so perfect for each other. I loved the characters and the world building that went into the Sweetwater Pack series and I hate seeing it end but I'm looking forward to the spinoff series. I would definitely recommend this book and series.
This story is amazing! However, I’m sad to see the series end. I’ve loved this world and characters all so much. Now Deke and Ozyn are so great! They are now one of my new favorite stories. After everything Ozyn went through his ability to love is amazing. Deke and Ozyn’s bond is quick and strong, but they really grow together and take the time to really form a true and strong relationship and bond. The understanding, acceptance, care, and love really helped them grow and heal. It was great seeing all the previous characters and seeing things wrapped up. I love this world and this pack so much! I highly recommend this entire series! I’m hoping for more stories in the future!
This was the perfect romance to bring closure to this series! I was so excited and relieved when Ozyn was able to save his alpha Deke! Ozyn was so determined to get to his mate. Deke in turn healed Ozyn after his long life of isolation. Their bond was immediate and so strong, but I appreciated the time they took to familiarize themselves with each other. They supported and accepted each other naturally and help each other heal. I have really enjoyed all the various characters in this series, and it is bittersweet to say goodbye here.
This is book 6 in this series and what an epic conclusion. At the end of book 5, Deke gets really hurt and in the clinic. Ozyn has been help captive for a century, when he finally escapes with the help of an elf. When he gets through the portal, he heads straight to Deke and helps him recover with what little magic he has. This is the start of their story as they build on their relationship, help to stop the attacks and find other means of medicine. I loved this series from start to finish and highly recommend.
Ozyn was an imprisoned King of the Dragons until his mate, wolf shifter Deke, has need of him to heal and he escaped through a portal to save him. In the final book of the Sweetwater pack, the two fated mates unite to save their pack. It's entertaining and exactly how it needs to conclude. Everyone has returned in this book, they wrap up loose ends, babies are born and the dragons are a gift to the world. I received a copy of this book and this is my voluntary opinion.
Sigh. So sweet, but it’s supposed to be the last Sweetwater pack novel and I love this series and don’t want it to end. Don’t you find that you find a series that you love and you want it to go on and on? Maybe we will get a few short stories? I’m sure Jax Stuart will enjoy writing something else and I feel like Stuart’s writing has gotten better with each book so I think we are probably in for some more great storytelling.
I absolutely loved this story. This is the last book in this series which is bittersweet but the author did a fantastic job wrapping everything up. This is Deke’s story and I was so happy to see him get his own HEA. The characters are all so amazing and the world building is fantastic. This has been such a great series and I’m hoping for a lot of spinoffs.
This one was good yet a little gut wrenching at the same time. I am sad to see the end of this series but so glad that this pack gets the happy ending they deserve. They have been through a lot. Deke!!! My heart! He is such a softie and has such a huge generous heart. Of course he could take care of a slightly feral dragon omega and help calm his soul. 🥰
I loved Ozyn Deke. Deke had a long road to woo his mate, Ozyn was feral after all he suffered through. Deje was also a bit apprehensive, he started to fear never finding his mate after seeing his pack finding their happiness. It was wonderful to see how sweetly he cared for Ozyn and truly gain his trust and devotion.
No spoilers of any kind included. All I’m going to say about His Feral Omega Mate is that I really enjoyed reading it and I’m going to leave it at that. So it’s going to be yes I most definitely do recommend this book but a word of advice start with the first book in this series that way you don’t get confused about anything.
I like to way the couples define their own roles and defy expectations: soft domestic alphas, brittle omegas who were former monarchs, your designation doesn’t define you, and everyone should follow their bliss.
Not much character development, but this story is about concluding an arc, not as focused on a guy and his PTSD mate.
What an unforgettable read with a story that is very good. The characters and story are well developed and created a great reading experience. Ozyn and Deke are so simply entrancing, and I felt so much emotion for these two.
This was the perfect ending to this series although! You should definitely read each one or every book that Jax Stuart has written so you can enjoy each world! My heart hurt for Ozen and for Deke! But the ending was great!
I read each of these digitally. I’m looking forward to owning hard copies of each of these books. Brilliant world building, fabulous character development with intricate connections, and a plot with unexpected twist and turns.
The series ends on a high with this couple! I have been hoping for Dekes story as he is a character that has always stood out for me and Ozyn is a perfect match for him! This story clenches the heart while making you laugh! I feel it’s been beautifully written as it covers some really hard subjects. There is one scene which is as equally traumatic as it is funny that will forever remain in my mind. Def worth a read and I can’t wait for the next spin off!
