What bonds would you break for the sake of your love?
After her uncle’s death, Violet Franklin returned to Texas with her young daughter, determined to face the shadows of her past and piece her broken family back together. But when her daughter’s father uncovers the truth she’s worked so hard to hide, her fragile peace begins to unravel.
As old resentments over the Franklin estate flare and family wounds resurface, Violet’s first instinct is to bolt. Yet Rose’s father is determined to claim his place in their lives, forcing her to confront the forbidden desire that still burns between them. Running would be the safest choice. Loving him could be the greatest mistake she ever makes.
Shadows of the Past continues what started in Her Dark Secrets—a story of forbidden love, dangerous revelations, and the devastating choices that could destroy everything Violet holds dear.
This storyline is a tough one, but the writer pulls it off well. I was sucked into this extremely dysfunctional world and couldn’t put the book down. Overall, I’m unsettled by the events of the past and hopeful for successful healing and support from childhood trauma.
I went into this book, thinking it was gonna be a great book but honestly, I was kind of weirded out and maybe even a little disgusted. It just kind of confusing to comprehend, but the gist of it is that she had a baby with her brother, but it turns out the brother is adopted still kind of gross definitely not what I thought this book was about if I had known I wouldn’t have bought it so I honestly don’t recommend this book
