Through sky and earth and sea and flames, a crown of shadows forged in blood.
Bastian and Eirik LaGoryen have honed their craft over the past two decades, studying under the most accomplished teachers Anu, Earth, and Gerra have to offer. They have trained, fought beside, and pledged themselves to each of the realms. Ventus was to be no different.
Except that it is.
On separate journeys, the twins have committed fully to the mysterious realm. The land set in perpetual autumn is steeped in history and far removed from outside The home of the fae.
As with everything in their lives, Bastian and Eirik have vastly different opinions regarding their new host realm. They're not the only newcomers drawing such conclusions as they prepare to compete in the upcoming solstice tournaments.
Another outsider also calls this strange land home. Mastering their own challenges. Following their own path. Plotting their own victory.
Unbeknownst to the solstice participants, a darkness is gathering on the horizon, intent on enslaving the occupants. With the future of Ventus hanging in the balance, past rivals must stand together if the realm has any hope of defeating an army with no name.
An army of the dead...
Perfect for fans of A Court of Thorns and Roses, From Blood and Ash, and Fourth Wing, The Forged Trilogy is a sweeping fantasy romance set in a fractured world of elemental magic, deadly alliances, and slow-burning desire.
Stacy Von Haegert is the International Bestselling Author of two genres: Historical Romance (the White Rose trilogy, and Lords), and Dark-Fantasy Romance (Forged)
Stacy lives in historic downtown Franklin TN with her hubby, son, calico cat, and Belgian Tervuren, where she writes by day and teaches ballroom dance in the evenings. She is obsessed with old houses, good literature, and boogie boarding.
Forged in Blood by Stacy Von Haegert, the thrilling third book to the Forged Trilogy, is nothing short of phenomenal! Packed with court intrigue, power struggles, and heart-stopping action, this book delivers everything a Romantasy fan could hope for—and more.
The story revolves around Bastian and Sage, the main couple whose fiery romance is equal parts passion and vulnerability. But the surprises don’t stop there. Haegert introduces a deadly Egyptian goddess, feared even by the ancient gods, whose dual nature makes her a standout character. The romance isn’t confined to just one couple; steamy, dynamic relationships unfold across the pages, adding depth and variety to the narrative.
The storytelling is masterful, with a rotating cast of players and villains that keep you guessing. Every twist and betrayal will leave you on the edge of your seat, while the layers of secrets are unraveled at just the right pace. In a world where kingdoms rise and fall, and dragons, vampires, skin shifters, and other mythical creatures roam freely, there’s never a dull moment.
What makes Forged in Blood shine even brighter is its cast of strong, unforgettable characters. From powerful men and fierce women to a remarkable eight-year-old girl with a budding gift, every character brings something special to the story.
I can’t spoil too much, as this book is brand new, but believe me when I say it’s one of my favorite reads this year. If you love romantic fantasy with strong characters (both male and female), mythical themes, sizzling romance, and a fast-paced plot, Forged in Blood—and the entire Forged Trilogy—is a must-read. Stacy Von Haegert has truly outdone herself with this stunning series. Don’t miss it! Until next time Luv’s😉💋
This is an exciting, action-filled story of the falling and rebuilding of worlds, kingdoms, and relationships. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, even though a family tree/chart would have been helpful.
How to put into words how much this book was needed and wished for with every fiber of my being? I don't think I have enough words to answer that question and do this amazing story and universe justice. However, I will try my very best. For the author deserves it.
I fell in love with the LaGoryen direct and extended family from the vet first chapter in Forged of Fire and I have been waiting patiently to see what this amazing crafted universe had to offer on this third installment.
To be honest, it was not what I was expecting or wishing for, Teakin's story. However, the story ended up being so much more, and what I did not know that I wanted or needed it. The amazingly worded settings the story is anchored in, the wonderfully sketchy but redeemable characters, the dark and utterly despicable villains, and the new broken but so lovable new characters and above all, the wonderful original characters we all love.
I was once again transported to a realm with every word, every description. I was once again a silent companion to the characters and a willing participant in the action thanks to the unbelievable talent of the authors. I laughed, I cried, I fought in every battle. That is the power of Stacy Von Haeger's craft.
Her books are a masterpiece individually and as a whole series, and I just hope to all the Gods out there that she doesn't make us wait for another eternity to bring more of the LaGoryen bunch into our lives. I do not recommend this book, I DEMAND that it be read!!!
3.5 stars! A good book with a good ending. The characters were the best part, each book held such an amazing group of people. While I missed my favourites from the first 2 stories as they weren’t the main storyline, Bastian and Eiriks characters were brilliant and Sage was the perfect addition. My real surprising favourite though was Katarra, she was fierce and villainous but also soft at times and I loved every chapter with her in it.
I did struggle at times with keeping track of characters and their heritage and who was who and there were a lot of confusing what’s happening moments where the story seemed too rushed. Not sure if that stems from how long it’s been since I read book 2 or my brain itself.
The fantasy aspect was good but definitely took a back seat in this book as the characters shined. I would have liked more of a concrete ending but it’s definitely open enough if the author wanted to make more stories. Overall, a great series and one I would recommend, especially to Romantasy fans.
I've enjoyed this series and wasn't disappointed from start to finish. Book #3 takes on a more somber note with challenges, twists and turns. The conclusion wraps up the separate tales of each character and ties them together with a bow.
Stacy Von Haegert has a flowing way with words. Her main characters in this book, as like the others, are very relatable. They struggle, make mistakes, make amends and try to fulfill a purpose. One falls in love with their persona.
Then there are her characters that one loves to hate. Secretly rooting for them as they wreak havoc in each book. Hoping for a change of heart.
I'm not going to give away spoilers. This was a well thought out and crafted story. A wonderful end to an intriguing series. I hope others give it a chance and delve into it like I did.
The anticipated conclusion is here, and it is a doozy! Time has passed since the twins were young. They now face bigger and more deadlier challenges. The Chosen One has not been picked yet from the two. Many characters from the other two books will make an appearance in this book that adds to the elements of the stories going on. This book is not just about the twins. Enemies from before will make an appearance just not in the way you would expect.
Multiple POVs will definitely keep you entertained and focused on the story lines that will converge into one epic conclusion. Mates will be found, answers still not given from book two will arrive, redemption for others, and love all around. Of course, evil comes in many forms to try and gain a foothold to rule over all. So much is packed within the pages of this book~
I cannot tell you even a little about the book because it will be a spoiler. Trust me when I say, from page one it is non stop action, laughter, love, battles, powers, shifters, and so much more. I could NOT put it down. I even reread it a couple times just to capture all the details. Stacy put a lot of herself into this book…you can tell. It is an epic story that will stay with you. This exciting adventure may lead into another series…at least I am hoping it does! Go, buy the series, or if you own the other two books, you will NOT want to miss out on the great storytelling and journey everyone takes in this battle for all.
While eating this book 4/5 ⭐️, it fell on the shy side of that 4 for me.
“Forged in Blood” by Stacy Von Haegert concludes the Forged Trilogy with a blend of dark fantasy and romance. The narrative follows twins Bastian and Eirik LaGoryen as they navigate the realm of Ventus, home to the fae, engaging in solstice tournaments and confronting emerging darkness.
I enjoyed the book for its action-packed sequences and intricate world-building. This is an exciting, action-filled story of the falling and rebuilding of worlds, kingdoms, and relationships. The writing definitely flows. The characters in this book are very relatable.
Now for the cons: I felt very overwhelmed by the extensive cast and complex plotlines. I spent a lot of time confused about who was the son of whom, who was blood related, etc. It was just hard to keep completely straight while it jumped from world to world. While the first two books focused on characters that played a role in this book, I just felt like the connection was hard to keep clear to me.
Readers should be prepared for its intricate plot and extensive character list, which may be challenging for some. For fans of dark fantasy romance though, this book provides a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.
This book really confused me at first. It was vastly different from the others and had many new characters and places. It also jumps around between places/POVs quite a bit and just kind of had my head spinning trying to keep it all straight. I found myself putting it down easily and not submersing into the story. I thought the writing was a bit confusing in that it seemed secretive and "mysterious" by not fully explaining situations to keep the plot from easily being guessed. I also found myself just not totally in tune with it. Whether it be my mood or something else, I'm not sure . But I honestly was kind of done with the series at this point and just wanted it to know how it ended (which could also explain all my written feelings above). That being said, I honestly didn't think the book was bad at all. I did like the plot and the characters. It's unique. It just wasn't my favorite and was a tad too plot heavy for me with not enough relationship building/details.
I want to start this review by saying what a beautiful writer Mrs Von Haegert is. I could go on and on about this book. From the dynamic storytelling, the loveable family members, to the oh-so spicy bits, but I think what really makes this whole trilogy remarkable for me is the authors personal style. It feels effortless. From the detailed scenic descriptions to the dialogue exchanges. It feels natural, and that's not always the case with this genre.
That's all I want to say. I fear if I start going into too much detail about the story I might slip up with a spoiler. And we wouldn't want that cause this book has some epic twist and turns. But I'll leave any future readers with this: We all deserve a Legion in our lives. 😊
The best for last! This series started out on earth in modern times and has ended in the realm of the fae, in what feels like the 1400s. And I'm totally here for all of it. My favorite characters from book one and two were all present in this last installment but they left the stage for a mostly new cast. A cast that did not disappoint. Everything from pegasuses to wyverns, shapeshifting fae to a mystical fifth realm. Forged in Blood took me on one hell of a roller coaster ride and I enjoyed each and every dip, drop, and spin.
This book opened with a bang and kept on firing. I feel like I've been on a journey to another world and now that it's over I'm not sure what to do with myself. The characters are outstanding. Each and every one of them. Though I do have my favorite, and it's not at all who I was expecting it to be. I'm absolutely in love with this author's world building and stunning descriptions. I'm officially a fan for life.
Where to start. This trilogy has it all. But this last book was my favorite of all. Set in Ventus, a realm hardly touched on in the first two books, we are introduced to the fae. Von Haegerts take on all her supernaturals is unique but the land of the fae is next level creative. This was a masterclass in excellent character development and inventive world building. I can't wait to read what's next from my new favorite author.
Stacy has a way to make you fall in love with every character. This 3rd book of her trilogy is no different. I love the whole world building and character development that happens. I have a love hate relationship with Katarra, but I think I love her little more. This is a great read and one that ties the whole story together. I love every shock, every gasp, every surprise and every emotional set up. I was so happy to read this book! If you haven't read this trilogy you need to!
Last book of this trilogy following Bastian and Erik (mainly) as well as series favourites as they finally overcome the darkness sweeping Ventus. There is plenty of action, a cute fire ball Legion, restored kingdoms, Pegasuses, vampires, angels, wizards and fae. Not to forget love and redemption. A brilliant conclusion to this series with great writing that draws you into the fantasy world.
I give this book 3 1/2⭐️ its more of a me problem lol than the book I should of reread the first 2 books before starting this book because I forgot a lot that happened in the other books but I did enjoy the story and the writing and will have to reread this whole series soon
Stacy Von Haegert has done it again. The LaGoryen twins did not disappoint in book three. Nor did my favorite villain. And now I want a Wyvern. A must read for anyone in need of a magical escape.
