I GIVE MYSELF AWAY

AND ASK NOT TO HAVE ME BACK

I DON’T WANT TO GET TO KNOW ME

IN FACT I’M TERRIFIED OF THAT

Life has never been easy for Emily. Read about it in this poetry collection that doesn’t flinch at the dark and truly digs deep. The title Words From A Skeleton is the name of a series of blogs she originally published all of these pieces on at the ages of twenty-two and twenty-three. It’s a nod to the eating disorder she struggled with at the time and also her gothic style of writing. Including poems with names like “It’s Okay To Say You’re A Victim And Not A Survivor,” “Dandelion” and “I Told You I Would Write This” we recognize her signature style. However, something new is starting to bloom. The first steps toward self-love.
