Ripley's Believe It or Not

Ripley's Believe It or Not! Planet Eccentric!

Rate this book
Our 2nd book of facts about bizarre feats of the human, material and natural world. It is a solid reference work of the strange but true. It shows the world through Ripley's eyes as something that is wonderful and weird, awesome in its variety, jaw-dropping in its uniqueness. This book juxtaposes the quirky, bizarre, outrageous world of people with the pure fascination of the natural and physical world.

The Ripley's believe it or not book series has over 40 titles. I would recommend this book to people
who do not have the attention span to read whole books on one subject. These books contain many short
"stories" of incredible oddities and world wonders. I enjoyed this book because I enjoy reading about
crazy occurrences and oddities.
I believe anyone who likes to read magazines that contain a lot of articles would enjoy this book. When
I read this book, at no point did I lose interest because there is something astonishing on every page. This
book is a great read because it has something for everyone.

This is a great read for when you spend a lazy Sunday at home. It shows you how many creative people are out there, gives you great ideas for new hobbies, makes it clear that the world is full of surprises and ensures that you understand that the British are complete Bonkers! hahaha

I believe Ripley's Planet Eccentric is one of the world's greatest books on many facts that I will never need to know but interest me in their wide variety of weirdos with weird talents. I like how it seems like just when you get over the shock of a picture of someone or something doing an unimaginable feat of brain dead stupidity or complete and utter talent. When people read a book a lot of times they want a plot and drawn up characters but Ripley's is one of those books filled with the craziest stories that are all absolutely 100% true. Without Ripley's I would never believe that there is a man who can put a snake in his nose and have it come out his mouth, or that there is a real hotel made out of 100% salt. But with Ripley's facts, captions and pictures there to show me the strange truths I believe both the facts just stated and tons more mind blowing stuff. Honestly I give this book a 5 out of 5 and an A+ for effort. They did a great job and I hope their are many more strange secrets out there for Ripley's to unearth and share with me and many others.

This book really caught my attetnion from just reading the cover! Its a great book , i learned a lot and different things about other people in the worl. Some people actually broke records from just doing what they love the most.I would talk about the whole book by deatail but their is just so many people that i cant even explain it.One person in particullar has been making a hugr rubber band ball ever since ever since that man was a little boy.He first started his project when he was 12 , his rubber ball was small to start off with. After that he made it bigger over the years and the rubber band ball is humongous now. This book is very interesting, not just by looking at the pictures but actually reading it and understanding their stories. This book isn't the only book called Ripleys Believe It Or Not , there are other kinds . Their is new ones out but this one is not that old but its still pretty interesting and very popular .

★ - Most books with this rating I never finish and so don't make this list. This one I probably started speed-reading to get it over with.
★★ - Average. Wasn't terrible, but not a lot to recommend it. Probably skimmed parts of it.
★★★ - Decent. A few good ideas, well-written passages, interesting characters, or the like.
★★★★ - Good. This one had parts that inspired me, impressed me, made me laugh out loud, made me think - it got positive reactions and most of the rest of it was pretty decent too.
★★★★★ - Amazing. This is the best I've read of its genre, the ones I hold on to so I can re-read them and/or loan them out to people looking for a great book. The best of these change the way I look at the world and operate within it.

I love the Ripley's books. I learn all sorts of weird facts and like reading weird stuff out loud to my mom to freak her out. This book is awesome. (2nd grade)

These books keep my son's attention for hours. Easy way to sneak in some vocabulary (entrepreneur, regatta, mollusk, etc) and geography. Highly recommend for young, adventurous readers (Mom).

This is really a Victorian Freak Show in book format!

I particularly like the article about the 57 year old Venezuelan man that has kept a baked bean in his one nostril for 35 years and a pair of dice in the other for 7!!

Wow... what an achievement....LOL

This was really interesting. A lot of the facts were really cool, some were gross and some were both! If you like cool random facts then I think that you should read it.
