All Heather wanted was a chance to get back into the dating game. A night on the town, a little fun, and--who knows what might happen next. She meets the oh-so-handsome Ray, and the tipsy Heather leaves to find out what that "might happen next" entails. Unfortuantely, a snowstorm and car crash intervene, leaving Heather faced with life and death decisions, each one leading her deeper into trouble.
I'm proud to know the author. :) Lisa didn't waste any time getting into the action, always raising the stakes. It was intense and a quick read for it.
Spoiler....... I couldn't help but think... that Ray was wrong that the cops couldn't prove his involvement... his blood was in the car too. This story is a good argument against one night stands, that's for sure! ;)
Amazing author (whom I happen to know personally) This short story is very edge of your seat gripping. I had to know what would happen next. And I loved that it referenced locations that actually exist so I could picture it in my mind. Much Love to you Lisa.
Ms. Kovanda's short story drops the reader right into the thick of it, and the reader immediately has that eerie feeling that something bad is going to happen---and boy does it ever! The pacing quickens as the narrator's world spins out of control, leaving the reader just as breathless as the narrator during the ultimate face-off.
Being from Lincoln myself, I'm surprised this didn't happen more often! Excellent story, Lisa! I knew you had some creepy in you that was just waiting to come out! I look forward to reading more of your stories.
