“Not your average HEA” = not a HEA at all. 🙄🙄🙄Seriously, wtf was that ending?? So tired of these authors trying to cash in on the romance industry and then piss all over the singular rule.
The book was okay, at best. I couldn’t get past the absolutely insane amount of grammatical errors and typos in this book. Made it so incredibly frustrating to read.
1.75⭐️ This started okay, quickly become the same over and over, and maybe 60ish % in the author decided she needed to make the book "interesting" so just started throwing in things try in creating a plot and a twist.
4⭐️ This was a really good book, I downloaded on a stuff your kindle day and I’m glad I downloaded it i definitely recommend it if you like the Netflix show you ( without the murder) very enjoyable read
Wow CL Easton did not disappoint with this one. If you’re looking for a dark romance with plot spice and morally grey characters this is the one for you! Highly recommend!
Wow. Just wow. I loved this book. The characters, the plot, spice absolutely everything. Teagon is an everyday woman with everyday problems when Silas pops up. So she's pushes her "little stalker friend" to the back burner to focus on her business like anyone else would because ya girl gotta eat and bills to pay. But as everything unfolds, she starts to feel like she doesn't belong in Holden anymore. Which I honestly don't blame her. But by the epilogue, she's happy, and that is all that matters. Hopefully, everything works out exactly the way it's supposed to. But I loved the way this was because it's how an actual person or people would be, and it felt real! I love it!
I dnf’d @17%. At 17% she’s already gotten off to this guy she’s talked to a couple times and had dinner with once and he already was kissing her neck and telling her he’s sorry. Please. Where’s the build up? And I couldn’t get past the errors with spelling and missing words. I get wanting to cash in on spicybooktok but we still need a well developed plot.
- could use proofreading: handful of typos/minor grammatical errors throughout the book
- simple characters and story that aren't detailed and feel very flat ex.
- lots of connecting points that are obviously conjured to lazily facilitate reasoning for character choices rather than self-discovery through complex narrative action: ex.
- didn't mind it THAT much as a quick read (wouldn't consider this 🌶️ bc it's SO, SO brief therefore not very explicit at all), but wouldn't reread - overall: definitely underwhelming in every aspect, but i'll rate it 2⭐ instead of 1 because it at least wasn't annoying to read
I had high expectations on this "stalker-dark" romance, but I got a bit disappointed. The book started really well, but the ending felt really rushed. Most of the interesting things are happening in the last couple chapters, but they are completely rushed. And the ending is so unsatisfying. This could've been a really good book with a great story cause, like I said, it started really well. Teagan and Silas are both so loveable. I love how the dialogs are written, how they talk, etc. But the last third of the book could need some improvement. There are so many things left open. What happened with Nancy? What will happen between Teagan and Silas? And so on... There were some editing issues as well.
Also, it didn't really give me any stalker vibes, and the smut was meh. He stalked her like two times, but there was not really any tension to it. Again, these spicey scenes felt rushed as well. Even more rushed felt the sex-scene in the kitchen when he first fucked her as Silas. It felt like this happened in a span of four minutes... Generally, I had hope for it to be a bit more spicy, and for the scenes to be more exciting.
This books was amazing, it would have been a 5 star read for me if the ending was a bit different or if there was a second book to continue the main characters love story.
This book about a woman who is running a book store in a small rural town. She has landlord is extremely rude to her causing her problems all the time. When the MMC come into her life he decides to ask her if he can help at the book store so he can be closer to her . Even though he stalks her in his mask. Whiles he's working there a bizzare accident happens with the hydrant out side her shop causing her to have to shut down to rebuild, the Land Lord not giving her the permits to rebuild. All why she starts falling for the MMC , then spending a lot of time together. As she finally thinks she back on her feet her shop is attacked and who does it is a shock. She comes to find out multiple things that change her life forever, causing her to move and never talk to the MMC again. Till one night in the new town he shows up and tells her something that will leave you shocked.
Still looking for a masked MMC with stalker vibes?? Then look no further because this book delivers!
Sweet Dreams may start off as sweet, but I can promise you it's anything but sweet. I love how C.L. Easton made this into a mysterious slow burn but kept it fast paced. Teagan is a little h3llfire who tells you how it is. I love how she doesn't have a filter sometimes and goes after what she wants. That is until the moment Silas came to town, and she unknowingly attracted a stalker. Let's be real who wouldn't want a Silas following them while making you feeling "special". He may be unhinged in a way with a sketchy past, but he can be goals.
That ending though... I'm not sure how I feel about that. But thank you, C.L. Easton, for another amazing read by you! I can't wait to read what's next.
This is not a dark romance book it would be like light grey. The book was kind of fast paced. In the beginning when they started to talk, it already seemed that they had done something that would seem they had some kind of relationship but they hadn’t even done anything that serious to be on that kind of level. The twist and turns were good but at the same time, the male main character didn’t have that kind of dark past and it was made a bigger deal than it really was. The spice was like two stars, in some places it was good and made me feel feelings but when it really got to a spicy place it was written in very fast space. In the book there were also mistakes and not well thought through plots. It could be written better. The ending was rushed and did not deliver. I have read better stalker romance books in whattpad.
This book had potential, but ultimately, it fell flat in almost every way. The writing could’ve used some proofreading—there were a handful of typos and minor grammatical errors throughout.
The characters were extremely one-dimensional, making it hard to connect with them. The story itself relies heavily on forced plot points rather than natural character growth. One glaring example: a side character is introduced just to spoon-feed the MMC a life lesson…which he then doesn’t even apply, leaving the main conflict unresolved.
As a quick read, it wasn’t the worst, but it was definitely underwhelming. The romance wasn’t spicy (despite hints that it would be), and the story lacked the depth to be emotionally engaging. Not something I’d reread, but it wasn’t painful to get through—just forgettable. And don't get me started on the ending.
Such a twisted, heartbreaking, and heartwarming book at the same time. I didn't know a darker romance book could be that paradoxical, but it was. Teagan is the one for Silas, but as with most MMCs, he messes up quite badly. The ending did leave me frustrated and wanting more. Not quite a cliffhanger, but not exactly a HEA either. That's what you get from dark romance sometimes, so I guess I have to deal with it. 😞 This is a new author to me, but I am already hooked and hope to read more from her in the future. Maybe even a little extra bonus from Teagan and Silas into the future in another book or novella or something. If you can't tell, I really want more, and you probably will too.

Sweet Dreams by CL Easton is a slow-burn romance with a dark twist. Teagan, an independent bookstore owner, is drawn to the quiet charm of Silas, a mysterious newcomer in her small town.
As their romance develops, the chemistry between them feels both tender and intense. However, the suspense builds as Silas harbors a dangerous secret—he is the very stalker who has been obsessively watching Teagan. The tension to keep his dark past hidden along with the blossoming connection between them makes for an intriguing read.
I do feel that the ending was rushed and I, for one, was kind of shocked on how it ended.
Teagan is a bookshop owner, that has a drama filled life and a stalker……
Her masked stalker makes her heart race in fear but also….. intrigue. She is terrified but also extremely aroused. What a dilemma! 🥵. But that’s just one part of her life the other well that’s slowly getting destroyed by her high school nemesis so she is determined to find out why.
I loved the fast pace of the book. It was intriguing and suspenseful. I wasn’t a fan of the abrupt ending. I was warned but I just get so deep into reading that they become a part of my world so I got frustrated when they just left ok!!! Haha
This book is suspenseful, a little spicy, and an all round awesome read.
3.5 rounded up. I see the reviews saying there’s a lot of typos but the author is Canadian and even states in the beginning of the book that it’s wrote in Canadian English. That being said, I think that it’s just how they talk, word things and spell things there. This one was a cutesy, nice little palette cleanser. It gave me Lights Out vibes with the banter and masked stalker. The FMC was a little annoying. That was the main issue that I had with this book. She states that she is late 30s and then a few chapters later she says she’s 35 but how she talks and acts seems like she is a 18-22 year old. Overall it’s a decent book, thank you for the free copy during stuff your kindle.
This one is a good little read for October it has the vibes
Masked man ✔️ Stalker ✔️ Dark past ✔️ Sassy independent woman ✔️ Corn field ✔️
I love Silas he's got his eyes set on Teagan but with trust issues and secrets will she slip though his fingers.
This definitely hits the spot, did i want more masked outdoor fun? yes, did it need it? no, its just me being greedy. The storyline was great loved the side characters also. Wasnt so keen on the ending but well we dont always get the happy ending we want.

Teagan runs a bookstore with a boring day to day life that is until she finds herself with a stalker in Silas, Silas is new to town, looking to lie low but when Teagan catches his eye and settles his racing mind he knows there something to be had here, but his past might be the thing that holds him back from getting a chance with Teagan, or will her own families past be her undoing. This story has you hooked from the start, with mystery, suspense, desires, steamy scenes, stalking and more the ending leaves you hoping for more!
The pacing is slow and the story reads like a slice of life as Teagan goes through her daily routine. She works in the bookstore she owns, visits her parents, deals with small town gossip and diddles herself to thoughts of the new guy in town. Silas, said new guy is, to keep this spoiler free, not the best of people and a bit of a weirdo. Cozy, slice of life stalker story told from dual POV, not my preference but okay for what it was.

Okay so let's break it down... Stalker: Check Masked man: Check Spice: Check Fast Paced: Check
The FMC is your everyday girl! I loved reading that. It's not to often that you can relate to a FMC in that way. She is just living her life, working at a bookstore
The MC is new in town. He has set his sights of the FMC! His secrets though may be his undoing.
CL Easton does a great job bringing you in and hooking you. This has been a favorite of mine because of how every day the FMC was. I hope you enjoy!
Sweet Dreams was a quick and fun read. I loved Teagan her personality and comebacks were so good,Silas hands down can stalk me. With every small town there is always that one person who thinks they control everyone and Nancy was that witch! I wanted to slap her myself multiple times but in the end justice was served.
Thank you CL Easton being on your ARC team is the best.
I’m don't know where I was expecting this to go but it was a fun ride! Not really a cliffhanger ending but it isn’t direct about the main characters relationship/future and I don’t hate that at all. I feel like it made it more realistic compared to the normal hea cliche endings. Some spice but not crazy - I’d give it a 2.5/5 on that level. Overall really enjoyable story!.

I loved this book, it had plot, mystery, spice and banter that had me giggling. Teagan is a woman on a mission, making her dreams come true. Owning a book store in her little town of Holden would be an easy task right?
Wrong... Thanks to Nancy. Silas is a good guy, with a bad past but pushing that past all the way into the past is hard. But what happens when he starts to fall for the book store owner?
I really want to read more of Teagan and Silas but I want to know Buck's story.
I have absolutely NO CLUE what was even going on. It was so difficult to read because it kept jumping around everywhere. Really felt like "I did this and then... and then.... and then...." without a steady lead between scenes, just severely lacking in flow. Also he had only talked to her like 3 times and was already getting very jealous and touchy in intimate ways for absolutely no reason? The characters just didn't exist or have chemistry to be invested in.
This story revolves around Teagan, who owns a bookstore in a small town. The rival family in town is haphazardly bullying Teagan. This starts to become dangerous, as her life begins to be at stake. Not only this but there is a masked man following her. Could he be part of this family? or could the dark newcomer be behind the mask?
📖 Bookstore 📖 Masked Stalker 📖 Small Town 📖strong FMC 📖Grumpy sunshine
This story had a decent plot with a good mystery. However, the masked man part could have been more in depth. I feel like the ending was odd and rushed. This was a decent read but I feel like more could have been put into the dark/masked theme.
Sassy strong-willed woman ✅️ Grumpy sunshine man with a dark past✅️ Masked stalker ✅️ Quite Town with a dark secret ✅️ Smut ✅️
Good October Read! Loved the storyline and the dark twisted love story with a surprise twist for the leading woman! Couldn't get enough of the drama that unfolded and left me wanting more! Not to happy with how it ended, but hey, it was a good read all in all.
My only complaint was the edging! It was a slow burn leading up to everything I was just begging for more right away! Who doesn't dream of a masked st@lker who will burn the world for you! He might be one of my top 10 MMC's for the year. I was just head over heels for this man and his "abilities.".

Sweet Dreams is a good book if you like straight smut.
I felt the book moved rather quickly. I feel some key elements were missing. The st@lker had no scare tactics. The FMC and MMC "falling into their feelings" was skipped over. I was left wondering how we got from one place to another several times. The MMC could have st@lked and/or tormented the FMC more, in my opinion.
Sweet Dreams is a dark stalker romance with and anti-hero vibe. The story had me hooked form start to finish. I love the characters, and I especially loved Teagan's growth through. The cover art drew me in and I'm glad I took the time to read it. Definitely recommend.
