Not sure why this French edition isn't linked to the other editions ("Waste Tide" in English).
Anyway, I expected way too much from this book and it had several interesting science fiction ideas.
The novel focuses on several characters whose lives evolve around this island in the South China Sea. The whole population works with recycling (mostly hardware, electronics and gadgets) and the whole environnment and people are suffering from pollution.
It was a bore fest unfortunately. The writing and the story never manages to "take off".
2/5* because the hard science fiction is there, mixed with social studies and mysticism...
