Set over 100 years in the future, Commander Jack Emerick finds him self in a difficult situation. His team have been tasked with securing a disabled military facility in a far flung uninhabited area of space. However when they get there they find something far more sinister than a mutinous crew or terrorist activity that threatens the future survival of all mankind.

The origins of the plot to Super Nova were oringinally laid down a year prior to when I started work on this book. A close friend of mine, Lee Cantrell, was making a game by the same name via Steam. He had a rough idea of the plot and asked me to develop it further into something more suitable. The work eventually led to key plot elements which became the foundation for Super Nova the book.
The inspiration for the characters is quite amusing amongst my friends. I decided to base the characters around them to the point of using their names! Unfortunately I could not fit them all in so those that I could not use in the plot for Super Nova were included in the sequel Mechanical Jihad.
The main character was based on my family dog at the time, Jack. I thought it comical to have him as the main character as I could watch him mess about as I put the story together. Some of his behaviour at the time led to plot developments of their own.
In my work happy endings are rare and Super Nova is no exception. All though it may not end on a high the story itself is quite amusing as I explore characters based on my friends. As a result some of the humour may be lost on others but this does not affect the fun that can be had with Super Nova which is in large senseless violence set one hundred years in the future with killer aliens and demented rebellious robots. Can't think of anything else that interests me more to be honest... other than zombies of course!

After a fifteen‑year break from publishing — caused by life, chaos, and at least one incident involving a printer that shall never be spoken of again — Lee Emerick has returned with the energy of someone who has been storing stories like a dragon stores treasure.

He kept writing the whole time. He just didn’t release any of it. Which means he now has fifteen years’ worth of pent‑up storytelling pressure, and the valve has officially snapped.

He is now publishing everything he’s written, one book at a time, before the madness consumes him entirely. Readers are invited to witness this process from a safe distance.

Good story but the editing was a bit shoddy.
If the author addressed this would certainly be more enjoyable.
3 stars for the story, 2 lost for editing and spelling.
Purchased this off the back after reading the authors other work. Could not argue at the price anyway but always a gamble with unknown/indie authors

Full of action to keep you on the edge of your seat, and therefore it is well worth reading this fairly short story.
However, this type of story line has now been told so many times that it is a bit too predictable.
Nevertheless, the writing style is very good, and I enjoyed the read.

I don't know were to start with this review, reading these books felt like reading a first draft. I kept thinking how these books could be improved. A lot of changes would have to be made before they would be worth a three star.

Insert zombie film + Battlestar Galactica in sol system = Super Nova
