This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the sixth book in the Mountain Country K-9 Unit series. I have read most of the other books in this series before picking up this book. I read this book by listening to the audiobook, and I loved the narrator. I really have loved reading this series and getting to know all the characters, and this book was no different. I really loved the characters in this book. I loved all the drama and suspense/action in this book. I was pulled into this story right away and did not want to put this book down. Great read and just what I needed. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

“Someone was watching.”

With a first line like that, you know you’re in for a suspense novel that will keep your heart in your throat, and Jessica R. Patch definitely delivers that – and more – in Trail of Threats! A serial arsonist with a trail of bodies in his (or her) wake… a single mom/food-truck owner who someone wants to put out of business, permanently … a still-missing therapy dog… and the Rocky Mountain Serial Killer the team has been tracking across this multi-author series. Needless to say, officer Rocco Manelli has his hands full in this book, not to mention falling for Sadie and her precocious little boy Myles.

I absolutely LOVED Rocco and Sadie together. Honestly, I’ve loved all the pairings in this series so far, but there’s something just delightful about this couple. For starters, Sadie’s sass and Rocco’s penchant for teasing her engaged all my heart eyes and put a twitterpated grin on my face (when I wasn’t biting my nails for fear they wouldn’t make it out alive). The great meatball sub debate made for some super fun banter between them, and oh gosh Rocco and Myles’ relationship melted me into a little puddle. Myles is all kinds of adorable anyway, and his 4-year-old adoration of ‘Officer Rocco’ made him even more so. I was also glad that he got his own service dog to monitor his pediatric diabetes – can I get an ‘amen’ that dogs are just amazing?!? And that includes Cocoa, Rocco’s K-9 partner, who can detect arson.

The suspense takes several surprising twists and has several different layers too, as I mentioned above. Is the serial arsonist the same person who’s stalking Sadie? the Rocky Mountain Serial Killer? Or are these three separate people? I DIDN’T KNOW, and I stayed on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Regardless of that answer, I made the rookie mistake of being fully confident that I knew who was after Sadie…. and yep, you guessed it, I was way off. Patch does this to me frequently, which is one reason I continue to LOVE her books, and she outdoes herself in this one as all the puzzle pieces come together in a riveting reveal.

Bottom Line: Trail of Threats by Jessica R. Patch is witty and endearing and intense. The vibrant and lovable characters (the ones with two legs & the ones with four) captured my heart from the beginning, and the high-stakes suspense kept me glued to the story and hardly daring to breathe just in case my sacrificial lack of oxygen could somehow influence the outcome. I remain awed at this author’s ability to effortlessly combine humor, romance, faith, and suspense in such seamless and entertaining ways that the story wouldn’t be the same if even one of those elements was removed. And Trail of Threats is another prime example. (By the way, even though this is a multi-author series with an ongoing story arc through all the books, it can be read as a standalone if needed thanks to the author bringing you up to speed so well.)

I read this one out of order because I liked the blurb. Made me want to go back and read all the others. Clean. Well-written. Non-stop action. And a pleasantly twisty ending. Keep writing, Ms Patch!

Trail of Threats by Jessica R Patch was so exciting! I just loved Sadie and Rocco's story. The book starts out with Sadie having a normal evening of working her food truck, getting her son, going home, and to bed. Then fire!! Officer Rocco to the rescue. But it's not the last time her and her son will be a target. With all the twists and turns in the story, this book will keep you guessing. But you'll never figure out the ending, I sure didn't, and it blew me away!!!

This exciting addition to the multi-author Mountain Country K-9 Unit series hooked me with the first line: “Someone was watching.” The hunt is on in the small, tight-knit community of Elk Valley, Wyoming, for an arsonist bent on killing food truck owner Sadie Owens. The action-packed, danger-filled plot kept me guessing to the end with a perfect blend of inspiration, romance, and suspense. I love Rocco, the honorable and chivalrous hero, and Sadie, the strong independent yet vulnerable heroine. Brave little three-year old Myles stole my heart! I appreciate the valuable, relevant faith lessons on trusting God. This quote gave me pause to contemplate: “She wanted to be able to say, ‘I trust Him even if…’ and mean it to the marrow of her bones.” The “to be continued” ending leaves another case open making way for the next books in the series. I love this story and recommend it as a must read for inspirational romantic suspense fans.

Action packed from beginning to end! Sadie is being followed, her house burned down, shot at and run off the road. Someone is clearly out to get her.

Sadie is a single mom with a young son who has diabetes, a growing food truck business that she is dedicated to, and someone who is trying to kill her. She doesn’t know where the threat is coming from but Officer Rocco Manelli is determined to keep his favorite provider of meatball subs alive, especially since he is attracted to her. I really enjoyed the good-natured banter between Sadie and Rocco about the right way for Sadie to make her food. This added humor and realism to the story that was fast-paced and intense. With arson fires around town and people dying, Sadie fears rightly that she is a target and agrees to allow Rocco to protect her and her small son. The characters are relatable and realistic and the story is well-crafted and filled with suspense. I enjoyed the way the mystery unraveled methodically and how Rocco and his teammates worked together to help Sadie stay safe. These two characters were easy to cheer for and delightful to read about, even in the midst of danger. The chemistry between the two of them was a slam dunk for me, and the mystery was a satisfying bonus.

I really enjoyed this fast paced, action filled, romantic suspense! Sadie is a single mom struggling to make ends meet when her house is set on fire. Rocco is on the case of bringing to justice a serial arsonist and serial killer. Now he must protect her and her son until he can solve the case. I fell in love with the couple. It is such a sweet romance. I also loved the service dog and K-9! I’m not a dog person but the author really made them loveable with their contributions to the story. I received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley in trade for my honest opinion. My thoughts are my own.

I’ve read several of the books in the Mountain Country K-9 Unit series, and each one they’re trying to solve bigger a serial killer case as well as the smaller case that brings the love interests together. Ms. Patch delivers a high intense, edge of your seat romantic suspense story in her addition to the series and you won’t be disappointed! *Side note explanation - the main plot (this book) does get fully tied up but the series as a whole has a running mystery, so you'll definitely want to plan to read all the books in order 1-8 plus 2 novellas.*

Right from the opening 2-3 chapters, your heart rate sky rockets as you’re taken into a house burning down and another scene bullets flying! And that’s just in the beginning!!

Sadie is a sweet, young woman and a terrific cook. She owns her own VERY successful food truck, which she inherited from her late father. She made a wrong decision in husband material and ends up a single mom with a child with medical need (diabetes).

Rocco is a handsome and masculine Officer. He likes coming to Sadie’s food truck for her meatball sub. He’s been working hard to solve the Rocky Mountain Killer (RMK) case that his father died trying to solve, as well as a serial arsonist that had killed several in their town and had almost killed Sadie and her son. It was him who rescued Sadie and her son from their burning house. Because Sadie has become a target for an unknown reason, she and her son, Myles, come to live in Rocco’s home so that she can be under his watch and protected.

You think rescuing Sadie and her son from their burning house was an intense scene but just wait!! Jessica R Patch takes you on a series of very close encounters for both Sadie and Rocco as they try to solve who is behind the attacks against her. I pride myself on being able to solve the story ahead of time and this one stumped me which was a lot of fun and thus I couldn’t put it down!!

Clean romance, no foul language, sweet tender kisses only story. I loved all the faith elements added in and seeing the characters depend on God for decisions and His outcome. I love the several times you get to see Rocco’s K9 dog, Cocoa in action. Sadie is a very relatable character, and many of her hesitations with a relationship with Rocco were understandable. The relationship I felt is rather a quick developing one but I enjoyed it and was thankful it wasn’t just built initially and only on lust or physical attraction. The relationship seemed natural and progressed easily and had you rooting for them to find love as well as solving the case. Job well done with this book!!

"Trail of Threats" is an engaging and suspenseful novel that kept me on the edge of my seat. The story revolves around Sadie, a resilient single mom who juggles the challenges of raising her young son, Myles, and running a food truck business. Sadie’s world is turned upside down when an arsonist begins to threaten her, creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty.

Jessica does an excellent job of portraying Sadie as a strong and resourceful character. Her relationship with Myles is heartwarming, and Myles’ bond with his dog, Dolly, adds a layer of innocence and comfort amidst the turmoil. The introduction of Rocco, a dedicated K9 officer, and his dog Cocoa, brings an element of hope and protection. Rocco’s presence is reassuring, and his growing connection with Sadie is both tender and believable.

The suspense builds steadily throughout the novel, with the arsonist’s actions becoming increasingly menacing. The tension is palpable, and the reader is kept guessing about the arsonist's identity and motives. The author’s descriptive writing brings the scenes to life, making the reader feel as if they are right there with the characters, experiencing the danger and fear firsthand.

One of the standout aspects of the book is the detailed portrayal of the K9 unit's work. The partnership between Rocco and Cocoa is depicted with authenticity, highlighting the training and trust that make them an effective team. This aspect of the story adds depth and realism, making it not just a tale of suspense but also a tribute to the bravery of K9 officers and their dogs.

Sadie’s food truck business serves as an interesting backdrop to the story. It adds a unique touch, showcasing her culinary skills and her determination to provide for her son despite the challenges she faces. The food scenes are vivid and mouth-watering, offering a delightful contrast to the darker elements of the plot.

Overall, "Trail of Threats" is a well-crafted thriller with a perfect blend of suspense, emotion, and character development. Sadie’s journey from fear to empowerment, supported by the steadfast Rocco and his loyal dog, makes for a compelling read. Fans of suspense novels with strong, relatable characters and a touch of romance will thoroughly enjoy this book.

Trail of Threats by Jessica R. Patch
(Mountain Country K-9 Unit Book 6)
An arsonist at large…
A K-9 team in the line of fire.
mom Sadie Owens’s fear of being watched is confirmed when her home is set ablaze—while she and her son are trapped inside. Officer Rocco Manelli and his arson dog arrive in the nick of time to make a rescue. But as attacks persist, it’s up to Rocco to keep Sadie and her three-year-old safe from a criminal with a lethal agenda. Can he keep a vengeful arsonist from scorching a deadly path through Elk Valley—before Sadie and her son become the next victims?
This is Sadie Owens and son's story.
This is Officer Rocco Manelli and his arson dog's story.
Someone was watching.
Sadie Owens peered out of her food truck window and scanned Main Street, where she parked her mobile restaurant, Sadie’s Subs. She didn’t normally stay open this late on weeknights. After five, most businesses closed in Elk Valley, but tonight had been an open house at the elementary school and she’d hoped to catch hungry families who hadn’t had time to cook due to the rush from work to the school to meet their children’s teachers. She’d done well this evening, even if she’d struggled to manage it alone, but she desperately needed the money and couldn’t afford to share tonight’s bonus money with another employee. She already struggled to pay her part-time employees—all two of them.
A car approached and parked in front of her truck. Elk Valley’s finest. The driver’s-side door opened and Officer Rocco Manelli strutted out. If the police cruiser hadn’t scared off the creep, Rocco’s imposing figure would have. His hair and eyes were as dark as the night and the perpetual scruff around his chin and cheeks added to his menacing effect. If she were a criminal, she would certainly cower at his physicality before even thinking about the fact he had a weapon and was trained to use it.
“Kinda late to be out on a weeknight, isn’t it?” he asked in his deep, velvety voice.
I recommend this book.
Trail of Threats by Jessica R. Patch is a 5 star book.
I am looking forward to reading more books by Jessica R. Patch.

I liked the ‘small town’ vibes, the female lead and many of the secondary characters. I tried to like the male lead, but he was presented to the reader as unlikable first and I never totally got over that.

The writing wasn’t the strongest, continuity was iffy at times, full-on poor at others. It seemed like some things were more convenient to write than made to actually fit in with the story. So for me, it could’ve flowed better.

I think with stronger writing skills, this could’ve been a really fun read, it has potential.

Murder-mystery / serial killer on the loose.
Small town.
Very smart, intuitive, loyal dog secondary characters.
Leads obsessed with God.
Adorable child character.

Overall:
The continuity could be tighter.
And the frequent mentions of God were a bit much—in some instances, it fit in just fine. For example, one lead is struggling with a decision and the other reminds her that God will guide her. Sure, that is smooth. But many times they made a point to simply throw in remarks about God that felt forced—made it feel like the author was trying hard to really push God at the front and center. IMO, it’s okay to have beliefs and not mention them in every single sentence. I liked it better when the mentions actually fit in smoothly, as I’m big on having continuity and plausibility in my fiction.

I also struggled with the back & forth of the ‘Oh well, I do have an ex, but he’d never…’
‘Oh! Maybe it’s my ex…’ with no basis whatsoever. And then it did go back and forth a bit.
It’s as if the author wanted the reader to have the ex as a suspect but didn’t know how to convey this. Weak writing.

Ultimately:
It was okay. Had some things I disliked, some elements I really enjoyed, writing could’ve been stronger. 3 stars.

Audio:
Very good—not exactly flawless, but close. The narrator would sometimes confuse her voices, meaning she’d be in FMC’s PoV and then switch to MMC’s, but not switch to his voice for a line or two. No biggie for me, I could see some readers complaining.
Overall sound quality is perfect—4 stars.

Okay, WOW Jessica knocked this story out of the park!
I am not going to lie, it is HARD for a Romantic Suspense story to earn 5 stars for me because usually the Suspense takes over and offers very little romance. BUT this story was the PERFECT balance!

The suspense is off the charts making this book hard to put down. But then the romance will have you totally on the edge of your seat wanting to see what happens next. With a wonderful set of characters within the mix. Sadie who has had a rough go at life and is grasping onto her trust in God. Rocco who is struggling to find the balance between his work, and creating a life for himself. And sweet Myles who is struggling with a medical condition, an absentee father and is just looking for life to settle down. And lets not forget the other heroes in the story: Cocoa and Dolly! In this story Sadie has someone trying to kill her, and Rocco has come to her aid. But taking her case was nothing like any he had ever taken on because this one feels personal. When Sadie has nowhere to go, she turns to living with Rocco, and it gives her a glimpse into what life "could" be like. But as Rocco, Sadie and Myles get closer, the risk isn't only their safety but getting their hearts too involved. They all know that living together is temporary, and he will eventually move on to a new case, and her to her new home. But can this moment in time make them change their plans?

Who is trying to kill Sadie? Who is the Arsonist in the town? Could Sadie and Rocco have a future together? Does the Meatball Sub need more basil? LOL!

I can not wait for the next story in this series!!!

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Trail of Threats. This is book six in the continuity series Mountain Country K-9 Unit. This has been an awesome series and I've really enjoyed it. Jessica did a great job on this one. It's well-written, action-packed, and full of drama. I know you will love it.

Sadie Owens could feel someone watching her. Why! She's a single mother. She owns a food truck known as Sadie's Subs. She had stayed late tonight as she had been busy. As she was closing a man snuck up on her. She called out to him but when a car pulled up he ran away. Rocco had saved her bacon unknowingly.

Mountain Country K-9 Officer Rocco Mandelli was working an arson case. He pulled up to Sadie's Subs, "Kinda late to be out on a weeknight isn't it?" he asked. He noticed she was spooked. She told him what had happened and described the man. Rocco told her he would follow her home. Rocco was patrolling the streets when he saw smoke coming from Sadie's street. Her house was on fire. He found Sadie outside her son's bedroom unconscious. She had been about to break his window when someone hit her over the head. Rocco got her son and his service dog out. He went with them to the hospital. He had to find out what was going on.

A horrifying journey as an arsonist and a killer is after them. God has a plan for these three, a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. A good plan for peace and not for harm. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.

The sixth book in ‘Mountain County K-9 Unit’ continuity series published in August 2024. The audio books are just releasing now.

So enjoyed Courtney Patterson’s animated narration of ‘Trail of Threats.’ The writing is phenomenal as is, but Patterson’s interpretation of these characters amplified my reading pleasure all the more. Love that so many more Love Inspired novels are being made available in this format!

Breath-snatching suspense with the kind of drawn out tension that keeps a reader on her toes right to the very end. The heart-in-throat gripping opening scene sets the stage for compelling creepy-ish suspense that gave me all the nervy feels (in a good way!)

I just read the fifth book in this series a few weeks ago where Rocco played a significant secondary role so it was fun to get his complete story here. Having said that, this works wonderfully well as a standalone novel as well.

Rocco’s connection to Sadie, and the way their relationship plays out is so believable and full of emotion… and quite a few laughs courtesy of sassy Sadie. Not to mention some flirty banter. Ohhhh, and don’t get me started on the toe-curling scenes artfully interspersed throughout! A fantastic blend of romance and suspense where both keep you on the edge all the way through.

My thanks to Harlequin Audio and Net Galley for providing me with an audio edition of this book.

Trail of Threats by Jessica R. Patch is a clean, romantic, suspenseful drama. It is the first I have read in this series, and I am interested to go back and check out some of the backlog. This story centers on Sadie, her son, and Rocco, an officer with a dog trained in detecting accelerates. This particular skill is essential as someone is determined to burn down anything that leads the truth back to them. Sadie finds herself the target on more than one occasion and I enjoyed watching the trust bloom between her and Rocco. There is humor and wit mixed in with the series situations as well as inspiration and faith to keep everyone grounded in the Truth. Overall, it was an enjoyable story, consistent with what I have come to expect from Jessica R. Patch.
I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook, narrated by Courtney Patterson. I thought she did a good job overall with distinguishing all the characters, nuances, and general essence of the story. I did not care for her representation of the little boy, so it was a little more difficult to follow in those sections, but not enough to make me want to turn it off or stop.

I love the Mountain Country K-9 Unit series (each book by a different author), and Trail of Threats by Jessica Patch is no exception!
It starts off with a blaze - literally - when single mom and sandwich-food-truck owner Sadie Owens finds herself and her young son trapped in their fire-consumed home.
Officer Rocco Manelli arrives not a moment too soon to save them. He and his arson dog are not only investigating cases around town, but he’s part of the task force for the ongoing RMK investigation. Someone continues to come after Sadie, and Rocco is determined to protect her and Myles. Could the two cases be connected?
Rocco will give it everything he has to find out, which means the growing feelings he has for Sadie need to be shoved aside…or do they? Sadie thinks that all who love will leave, so she can’t allow herself to love again…or can she? Can the Lord bring these two through their personal storms and show them it’s better to face new ones together?
The banter and friendship, leading into love, between Sadie and Rocco had me hooked from page one!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

LOVED this book!! I have to admit, I really LOVE a side character is this book, and I've already sent the author a message asking if he can PLEASE have his own book!! I really enjoyed Rocco and Sadie's story, and honestly, Myles, Cocoa and Dolly just about stole the book!! Myles is such a lovable boy, it's no wonder Rocco loves him almost as much as he does Sadie! And Cocoa and Dolly are two very special dogs!! I thought I figured out who was after Sadie, and kept waffling as I thought he might be a tad too obvious, and turns out he was!! I love the way Rocco kept relying on God and trying to help Sadie with her faith, too. Sadie struggled, like we all do when it seems that we're fighting our own battles, and really, she was trying to fight her battles instead of giving them to God. She finally wakes up to that, though. Myles has a strong faith, and is constantly telling Sadie how much God loves them. The danger keeps everyone on their toes, and will keep you turning pages and on the edge of your seat!

I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.

This latest addition to the series, is a stand alone and belongs to Sadie Owens and Rocco Manelli.
Sadie is a single mom who owns a food truck and her three year old with diabetes is her life.
When her home is torched due to arson, officer Manelli comes to her rescue and offers his home. As more fires escalate the danger, the culprit remains on the run. Who is after Sadie and why?
Meanwhile , feelings develop between Sadie and Rocco but she’s not ready for a relationship after her ex treated her so badly and didn’t want to be burdened with his son’s illness.
Rocco is determined to keep them safe. Plus he adores the boy and will do anything for Sadie.
This was an engaging , clean, suspense romance that will keep you guess who is the arsonist and whether it’s connect to the criminal in previous stories.
The main characters are likable and well developed.
This is a story about new beginnings, faith, hope, and second chances in life and love.
The narrator, Courtney Patterson, does a good job with the various voices. Thus bringing the story to life.
I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook by Netgalley and Harlequin Audio. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Trail of Threats (Mountain County K-9 Unit) is a true suspenseful, page tuner, and I couldn't put it down.

I found myself accusing everyone and truly was unable to figure out who did it, which for me makes a great book.

Sadie a single mother struggling financially is kept busy with her food truck business and her young son Myles that has diabetes and a special dog Dolly to help in aid in his diabetes. If that isn't enough someone has just tried to kill her and Myles by setting their home on fire, but why?

Officer Rocco and his specially trained K-9 dog Cocoa have been visiting the food truck each day. Officer Rocco is trying not to show his interests in anything other than Sadie's food, is now on the case. After Sadie is left homeless Officer Rocco offers her a safe haven at his house, so he and his specially trained K-9 dog Cocoa can look out for her, Myles and Dolly.

Hold on tight for this fast paced trip through Elk Valley, WY.

Highly recommend this book and author.

Sadie’s food truck sounds delightful. Myles and Dolly steal the show with their adorable ways.
The arson and deaths are terrifying. When Sadie is targeted over and over, I had to wonder if Rocco would really be able to keep her safe. Sadie has some real trust issues, and it makes Rocco’s job harder. Neither one can help falling for the other, but it’s a bumpy road to get there.
There are two big cases looming - the Rocky Mountain Killer and the local arsons and deaths associated with the fires. The person behind the fire and death is found, but the RMK will wait for another story.
The targeting of Sadie makes little sense until we get down to the wire and one vital clue drops into place.
Jessica Patch has gone above and beyond with Trail of Threats. It will keep you in the edge of your seat. This is a romantic suspense you won’t want to miss.
Please note there is plenty of discussion of God’s role in our lives within the book. If you don’t like mention of God, please try something else rather than read and then give negative feedback.

Sadie Owens is a single mom of a three-year-old son, and runs a popular food truck in Elk Valley. Lately, Sadie has felt the presence of danger and the sensation of being watched. Rocco Manelli is an Elk Valley police K-9 detective who us also part of the Mountain Country K-9 Unit, the task force trying to stop a serial killer in the Rocky Mountains. Rocco, along with his K-9 Cocoa, become protectors for Sadie and her son when their lives are threatened.

Read to find out what kinds of danger Sadie faces and if Rocco can stop her pursuer to make sure Sadie's son keeps his mom. This is book 6 of the Mountain Country K-9 Unit continuity series, but can be read alone. I could not put this book down. It is chock-full of intrigue and peril to keep you on the edge of your seat from the first chapter to the last. I totally recommend reading Trail of Threats if you enjoy action-packed, inspirational suspense. I received an advance digital copy to read and all opinions are my own.

Trail of Threats by Jessica R. Patch is the sixth book in the Mountain Country K-9 Unit series and a definite must read if you love inspirational romantic suspense stories.
When Sadie Owens is targeted by an unknown assailant office Rocco Manelli takes it upon himself to keep her and her son Myles safe, but the attacks seem personal and the assailant seems to know Sadie's habits and routine so Rocco along with his coworkers start looking for someone who knows Sadie. Who would know her better than an ex, a friend or someone living in their town?
As the attacks get more desperate Rocco realizes that they have been looking at the wrong person all along. Now Sadie has been kidnapped and he will do everything in his power to get her back safe and sound.
I really enjoyed this story and look forward to not only reading more books in the series, but by this author as well.
I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

Trail of Threats by Jessica Patch is part of the Mountain Country K-9 Unit series, but can easily be read independently.

Someone was watching.

One thing I love about the Love Inspired Suspense line is that you immediately jump into the action. Sadie is in her food truck when she feels she is being watched. As she is cleaning up to leave, she hears footsteps approaching. Just as the footsteps are at the other side of her truck, a car pulls up.

Enter Officer Rocco Manelli. It is clear from the beginning that Rocco and Sadie have known each other for a long time and have a friendly relationship. Sadie is all sass, and Rocco is protective and mischievous.

Read for:

🦮single mom

🦮diabetic son with a trained dog

🦮officer and his K-9

🦮nonstop action

🦮Food truck

🦮lots of red herrings

Trail of Threats is a quick read, with a solid suspense line and a budding romance.

Trail of Threats by Jessica R. Patch is book #6 in the Mountain Country K-9 Unit. This is a first by this author read and I am now a fan!

I liked how in the very beginning of her book - she started with scripture and how that verse was woven through the story. This was a read that I didn't want to stop listening too and can be considered a "cozy mystery" as well.

Sadie is a single mom raising a son (3 yrs old) who is a diabetic and runs her own food truck - a gift from her late father. Sadie is well liked in her small town and all of a sudden, someone is out for her. Fires & gun shots at every turn. Officer Rocco enjoys his banter with Sadie everyday and when the attacks start on Sadie's life - he is set to keep her safe.

Can Rocco find who is trying to kill Sadie before it's too late? Can Sadie get over her fears to believe in love again? This is one really good "quick" read!
