I’m so thankful Greta had the courage to write this much-needed book. It’s incredibly practical (covering what to say in different situations and how to maintain your composure), thorough (addressing the issue from every angle), and filled with hope, rooted in solid biblical principles. I highly recommend it, especially for parents approaching the teenage years… though it’s valuable even earlier.

Another wonderful book by Greta Eskridge. This one is about a topic that is hardly covered in books today and that is highly sought-after by parents. I learned so much and have scripts that we can use that are age-appropriate throughout childhood. I loved the focus on real-world experiences and relationships as well. Phenomenal and timely book!

Greta does a great job tacking a difficult topic with intensity yet with love, grace and hope. Parents, we MUST be equipped to teach and talk to our children about porn and what to do when they've been exposed to it. I appreciate Greta being brave enough to speak about about a very real issue facing children today. Highly recommend!

This felt thoughtful, clear, and genuinely helpful, especially in how it approaches a hard topic with honesty instead of fear. The guidance is practical and compassionate, making tough conversations feel more possible and less overwhelming for parents who really want to do this well.

I am so thankful to Greta for writing this book. It is such an important topic! I really appreciate her bravery in sharing her own story about the effect that porn has had on her life. She writes about this sensitive subject with grace, compassion, and love, through the lens of a biblical view of our bodies and sex. In addition to information about how porn usage impacts kids' mental, physical, and spiritual development, she also provides sample conversations and scripts for parents to use. Her suggestions have helped me to navigate conversations in my own family, with positive results. I believe that we have to overcome our own reservations and embarrassment surrounding the topic of porn and drag it into the light. She encourages parents to create a family culture that has a healthy and appropriate view of sexuality and their bodies. I can't recommend this book enough as a valuable resource for parents of children of all ages!

Greta is a needed voice in this hard yet necessary aspect of parenting our kids in a world that is inundated with pornography! This book has been eye opening and helpful and a great tool for evaluating what conversations I’ve had and which ones are still needed with my kids. I was encouraged by her desire for parents to consider what each kid needs to know in order to be safe and the many examples of how to tailor the conversation to different ages. Her encouragement is coupled with gentle admonishment to not shy away from these conversations. And conversations is a key word here. This is not a one and done conversation but many small conversations that build as our kids grow and mature.

Greta is quick to encourage us readers to remember that this fight is not done in our own strength but by God’s grace we teach our children the truth about the devastation that pornography brings and about the glory of a sexuality that is created by a God who gives good gifts.

Every parent will benefit from reading this book and then implementing her suggestions for how to talk for your kids about porn.

This book is a must for each and every parent. This topic is so important, especially in our day and age. Greta shares a lot of hard-hitting information about the effects of Porn. She runs through this and many similar hard-hitting topics, the effects, but most importantly how to start the conversations and talk about it with your kids. She even lays out sample dialogue, the key concept to focus on, and has it divided up specifically for different age ranges. Greta touches on this subject with hard & brutal truths, but she is compassionate every step of the way and consistently brings in Bible verses all through out when discussing these hard topics. There is so much richness in this book, from the talking points to key concepts, to the numerous amounts of resources outside of this book she directs you to at the end. A job very well done, I will be recommending this to every parent I know.

This is necessary, important, and honest. I'm so thankful that Greta wrote these words out of love for not only her own family, but all of us who are surrounded by so many spiritual battles this world throws at us. Not many books are out there like this that are truthful, honest, and raw with humility. Putting her own family's stories out there for all to see is so humbling, as I would greatly struggle with that, but clearly it's through our weaknesses that Christ dwells in us and His power is glorified. Thank you Greta for your encouragement, boldness, and loving kindness! The information and encouragement in this book has led my husband and I to have these important conversations with our kids, and so far it has only brought us closer as a family and closer to God. If you have kids, no matter the ages I strongly encourage you to read this book. Don't be fearful, anxious, or turned off by the topic, because it's not going away in this world. If you love your kids and want to protect them from danger and harm then this is a topic you must be vigilant on!
Thank you NetGalley for the e-copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I really wanted to like this book as it started off really strong - and I was hoping to utilize it as Christian resource on a topic that lacks in literature. It was actually through this book that I realized why: I don’t believe pornography to be the category sin issue it is often approached to as. It is, if anything, comprised of several types of sins.

Because of that, we as Christians need to approach it as we would any other type sin - confession + repentance.

I felt the author was heavy on woke terminology for pornography and secular solutions, which made the gospel theme that was sprinkled throughout this book feel less important than it actually is. This also felt deeply rooted in gentle parenting, which I generally disagree with as a primary parenting tool Christians should be implementing.

I did agree with the author on discussing media that your children are consuming and are encountering - critical thinking skills -, and that this is not something we unfortunately can shield our children from forever. I did feel like her suggestions for discussion were a little heavy for little ages and maybe more descriptive than they actually need to be.

I do feel like if you just create a general culture in your home where the Bible is read and discussed daily, hymns are sang, your family regularly attends a healthy church, activities are done together, biblical discipline is utilized and family teamwork in most things is encouraged, you can create an environment where safety is felt and sensitive discussions can be had.

“When should I give my kid a smartphone?”
“When you’re ready for them to see pornography.”

This wasn’t a particularly enjoyable book to read. But it is necessary. The Gel X and Millennial generations are the first who have had to approach the topic of porn with their kids in an intentional, strategic, and super-vigilant way. This is a terrifying reality, but Greta imparts courage and hope to us. I appreciated how she covered everything in this book with biblical encouragements. We are living in such a time as this, and God is still on His throne.

This book is COMPREHENSIVE. Greta literally covers everything that is going on these days, and gives information, strategies, scripts, etc.

Read this book to be empowered.

This was so good. It's certainly not what I'd call "fun" reading, but it was helpful and thorough and provided excellent scripts. I listened to this, but I think I'm going to buy a digital copy to have for reference. I also appreciated her candor while also recognizing that different families have different values and needs. It isn't judgy, but she doesn't hold back. Incredibly readable and important.

I think this is a very important read for all parents. Greta speaks from her own vulnerability and with grace. It is an easy conversational read with thoughtful questions at the end of each chapters. I also appreciate how their are sample conversations that you can have with your kids, this is very helpful if you feel unequipped and unsure about how to talk about some topics.

Greta did an incredible job tackling a heavy subject. Her words were encouraging, frank, gentle, and honest. She covers everything from puberty to sex, nudity in art to pornography, as well as provides sample dialogs for different age ranges. Her boldness to share her own story with how pornography affected her life and her willingness to have hard conversations with her own family has encouraged me to do the same. I wish I could get this book in the hands of every parent I know.

This is a very practical guide/helpful tool to help you tackle a topic you WILL have to address with your kids and that you will have to start talking about earlier than you would like. This book also gives you sample scripts to help you start conversations at age appropriate levels.

This is an informative and encouraging book. Eskridge gives great examples of how to talk with our kids, even giving a sample script for each topic based on age of child. There's an index of these scripts so you can easily refer to them in the future. Compassion is stressed, in order that our children will come to us with their questions or problems. The book ends with "Important Concepts" such as "media literacy," and a Resource Guide of books and sites to help us further.

We don't need to ruin our kids' innocence, yet we do need to prepare them for our tech-heavy world. It's Time to Talk to Your Kids About Porn helps us with this necessary task! Highly recommended!

I received an eARC of this book from NetGalley. Opinions are my own. I found it to be valuable and have purchased a copy for our home library.

This book is so gentle yet clear and equipping for the parents reading and their children. The short scripts for various age levels and thoughtful questions for parents to consider were all relevant.

The audio version was read by the author and easy to listen to. It’s 6 hrs which I think makes for easy listening.

Greta’s advice is so practical and loving. She writes that “conversation is the number one tool in protecting our kids from pornography.” And if you follow her on Instagram, you know she practices what she preaches! I love seeing how she interacts with her teenage kids, and truly enjoys spending time with them.

Our oldest kid is about to turn 12, and I know we are on the cusp of some big changes. I want all of our kids to feel safe talking to us about anything and everything. Like Greta says, “I don’t want [my kids] to think sex is wrong or bad. Instead, I want them to recognize when sex is being used outside of God’s original design and not settle for less than that. Let’s step into these conversations with joy instead of dread.”

I have so many passages from this book highlighted on my Kindle. I plan on reading it again with my husband so we can discuss it and incorporate it into our parenting.

Such a helpful tool, especially if you are uncomfortable with this topic. Greta has such a passion for getting these conversations started with your kids so they can have a healthy view of sex instead of a distorted one that comes from porn.

The reality of this day in age is that pornography is easily accessible by people of all ages and whether that be intentional or accidental it is important that we equip our children in knowing how to navigate this challenging issue. Greta does a great job sharing from her experiences in coming to understand the effects of porn on individuals, couples, and families. Included in each chapter are reflection questions to prompt the reader to take action as well as scripts, broken down by age, to help with these tricky conversations. Truly, rather than feel overwhelmed at the weight of this issue this book has made me feel empowered!

You need to read this book! It is an absolute necessity to understand the monumental problem that young people face in this arena. Pornography, masturbation, sexting, social media, smart phones--Greta addresses it all with grace & respect. Greta is a force in this battle. Her passion is to see a generation of well-equipped parents raise a generation of well-equipped kids. We don't naturally want to talk about these things. They're uncomfortable topics, but we need to talk about them. Our kids need us to get past the discomfort & be safe adults. "Conversation is the number one tool in protecting our kids from pornography," Greta says. This book offers tools for those conversations and hope for families that feel like this is a insurmountable task. Please read this book & recommend it to your friends & ask your church leaders to read it, too!

This book is a must read for anybody with children in their life. It couldn’t come at a more perfect time. Greta’s heart for families and for protecting our children is so very evident in this book. She gives great advice on how to have meaning conversations with your children. Just not on having one “talk” but how to navigate questions and conversations that make your home a safe place to talk about all the things. Thank you, Greta, for fighting porn head on and for teaching us how to fight against it in our families!

For years, Greta has been my go to resource for discussing pornography with my children. Her wisdom and insight into how to have these awkward yet so important conversations with your children has been so helpful. By opening up the conversation early with our children, it creates such an open channel of communication for continual conversation. This book is a gift for your children and for their future sexual relationships with their spouses. Thank you Greta for being a porn fighter and giving us the gift of how to talk about porn with our kids!
