Janet Anne Haradon Dailey was an American author of numerous romance novels as Janet Dailey (her married name). Her novels have been translated into nineteen languages and have sold over 300 million copies worldwide.

Born in 1944 in Storm Lake, Iowa, she attended secretarial school in Omaha, Nebraska before meeting her husband, Bill. Bill and Janet worked together in construction and land development until they "retired" to travel throughout the United States, inspiring Janet to write the Americana series of romances, where she set a novel in every state of the Union. In 1974, Janet Dailey was the first American author to write for Harlequin. Her first novel was NO QUARTER ASKED.

She had since gone on to write approximately 90 novels, 21 of which have appeared on the New York Times Bestseller List. She won many awards and accolades for her work, appearing widely on Radio and Television. Today, there are over three hundred million Janet Dailey books in print in 19 different languages, making her one of the most popular novelists in the world.

Janet Dailey passed away peacefully in her home in Branson on Saturday, December 14, 2013. She was 69.

Some parts of this were incredibly interesting but something about the story still left me wanting more. I didn’t particularly connect to any of the characters and that definitely affected my enjoyment of the story. The plot line was very interesting though and had me hooked, I couldn’t help but want to know which dark family secret would come up next to shake things up!

Can you imagine waking up in a hospital and not knowing who you are? Remy Jardin can remember historical type things just nothing about her personal life. She soon learns after her family shows up to get her that there's a huge mystery still in her life. Who can she trust and who can she not trust. We should be able to trust our family, right? Remy is one strong woman!

This was my very first book I ever read that was not school requirement. I loved it and I still go back and read it every two years or so.

This. Ok was disappointing and seemed like a teen novel with lots of mindless sex added. Ms Dailey should be capable of much more after all these years. Very shallow storyline

Janet Dailey has always been one of my favorite authors. She writes in many different romantic genres, Historical, contemporary, & suspense. Masquerade was a wonderful romantic suspense that had an amazingly huge revealing ending and a twist that left me in awe and shocked.

This was really good! The best one I've read by Ms. Dailey so far! There was a lot packed into it besides the star-crossed H and h: mystery, adventure, drama, intrigue, and a colorful background of New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Despite all that's packed into the story, it never goes overboard and gets melodramatic, or stretches the imagination. And despite all the obstacles in their path, you never doubt the love the H and h have for each other.

The h's family is a story unto themselves, and NOT a pretty one! I almost took a star away because of it, but changed my mind.

Ms. Dailey also takes part of the story back in time, as you learn the origins of the family's shipping company, which includes another pair of star-crossed lovers.

Never a dull moment here!

it's a great story. it could've been even
better if the main lead character Cole had
been more like Brodie Donovan. it's make
person really confuse to build up an image if
the character is like Cole, that some time he
is very tough guy, and second he is insecure
and had doubt.after all h build up his life
from nothing. so in my mind person like him
should be full of confidence and self value. I
liked Brodie's character more, he knows his
mind, strong willed, kept the rules of society
in his mind but make his own path and
follows it.

Baile de Máscaras.
Janet Dailey.
1990.

ADORO!!!

Our three elderly travelers and their detective cat are on the road again. They decided to take and unscheduled stop at a beautiful roadside inn. There's going to be a lecture they are anxious to attend. Of course, someone has murder on their minds and our trio plus cat unravel the clues and save the day. I love the descriptions of the places they travel and their impressions of what is occurring around them. An enjoyable read with a touch of humor and suspense. Jean, ARC Team

Remy is a shipping heiress but when she receives a blow to the head at a carnival she gets amnesia. Her family finally finds her and brings her back home to New Orleans but even though her family is thrilled to see her, she feels something is just not right. Does she know something about her family's business that she's not suppose to know? Who can she really trust?

At first I didn't care about the romance and was more interested in the mystery. Then the mystery turned out to be boring. The love scenes and descriptions of New Orleans were well written. Everything else was a little meh. It sucked when it went back in time to tell us about Brody and whats her face. I don't want to read about slave owners in love.

Typical bodice ripper type novel - quick easy read with some racy bits. I enjoyed it because it was mostly set in New Orleans where we lived for years and the places described made me nostalgic for those times.

It was a good book, I loved the characters, and the plot. It wasn't all about love but it did have sexy scenes that were absolutely stunning! The writing is beautiful, perhaps the thing I loved the most of the book.
Wonderful read!
