The Best Texas Bucket List and Travel Guide by Benjamin Dane is a MUST HAVE for 4 different groups of people:
1. Texans - Explore your home state!
2. Visitors to Texas - Texas is a big state, so this is the perfect guide to plan a vacation.
3. Potential New Residents - Whether you already have a specific area or undecided, you can make a more informed decision on where to settle.
4. Armchair Travelers - Just because you can't travel now, you can still dream. The beautiful photos and descriptions make it a pleasure to explore Texas from home.

You can subdivide to smaller categories as well. "The Best Texas Bucket List" is already #1 in Kayaking [at the time this review was written]! Whether your interest is in Biking, Spelunking, Cuisine, Music, Rodeo, ordinary or exotic, there's a chance that you will find it! Texas is vast
and varied, from the dense forests of the east to the sprawling deserts of the west. Each region presents unique wonders, challenges, and opportunities for the eager traveler.

Texas is divided into seven regions: Piney Woods, Panhandle Plains, Prairies and Lakes, Hill Country, Gulf Coast, Big Bend Country, and South Texas Plains. The geography ranges from the lush Piney Woods in the east to the rugged beauty of the Big Bend Country in the west. Each region has a distinct climate, from humid subtropical in the Gulf Coast to arid desert in the Big Bend. Dane does not touch on some areas, like famous historical spots, the Houston Space Center, or the various sports teams, but he shares many other areas that should not be missed.

One of my favorite parts of the book is that you will also get access to his interactive website! The photos, the descriptions, and all-important links to help you plan your visit. Speaking of planning, you will love the itinerary! Decide where you want to visit, and you are given the locations of each. I have ridden across Texas, and it always involved 1 or 2 overnight stays even if you aren't sight-seeing! There are also Travel Tips that come in handy.

My dad was raised in Texas, so I enjoyed learning even more about the state he loved dearly. We visited several times beside the driving through on longer trips to other destinations, but I learned so much more about areas I missed through the book and website. It's available in Hardcover, Paperback, and Kindle. I highly recommend The Best Texas Bucket List and Travel Guide: Discover Hidden Gems with Interactive Visuals and Trip Planning... and for you to explore Texas!

Just mere pages into this read and you will hastily be booking your next trip to Texas to see all this beautiful and expansive state has to offer. Written as if straight out of a documentary, the rich scenery and deep history of each locale is breathtaking.

Author Benjamin Dane has split Texas into seven manageable territories, ranging from panhandle plains to piney woods, hill country, prairies and lakes, south Texas plains, the gulf coast, and big bend country. Each of these regions is unique in their weather, landscape, and culture, breaking Texas into more manageable swaths.

“The Best Texas Bucket List And Travel Guide” is a love story to Texas, drawing in all those unfamiliar to its charm. Whether you’ve lived in Texas your whole life or are planning your first trip to the great state, there is something for everyone among these pages. Or, if you’re like me, maybe you weren’t even planning a visit back to Texas anytime soon, but after reading this you certainly are now. From food to music, adventures, hiking, and art, there is a wide range of activities and enjoyment to be had through Dane’s recommendations. As a born and bred Texan, Dane returns to familiar haunts, and new spectacles, taking readers on a journey through the variety, the history, and the beauty Texas has to offer.

Dane’s love of nature, learning, photography, and Texas are on full display. The passion, commitment, and truly hidden gems of this great state are shared with those enticed enough to dive in. As an added caveat each book comes with its own code to access a comprehensive, devoted travel website at BestTexasBucketlist.com. This website offers exclusive itinerary planning, and direct links to the hidden gems offered within.

Experience Texas in new and unique ways with the guidance, planning, and first-hand knowledge this book provides. Benjamin Dane’s way with words and ability to see beyond the surface, draws readers into this extraordinary bucket list and travel guide to Texas.

“The Best Texas Bucket List and Travel Guide” by Benjamin Dane is a treasure trove of hidden gems and things to do in Texas. I learned so much about its vast landscapes and various ecosystems and how local flavors, including BB-Q, are integral to life. Whether exploring ghost towns, discovering hidden waterways, diving into the rodeo scene, or enjoying jazz music, birdwatching, kayaking, or the striking desert landscapes of the stunning Gulf Coast, the author delivers an authentic guide from an insider's perspective.

In classic Texan fashion, this book embodies the phrase, "Everything is bigger in Texas." It covers every corner of this great state, and I thoroughly enjoyed every page. The cover design is fantastic, and the photography tips sprinkled throughout were a delightful bonus. With interactive tools and access to exclusive trip planning via a travel website and a private code, this guide captures the true spirit of Texas. It is the ideal companion for any Texas adventure.

I wish I had a copy of this book when I was raising my children. Living in Texas, we were always looking for road trips to take with them where we could stay within eight hours of home. I could have planned much more exciting vacations. I have lived in Texas all my life and never thought about taking a tour of a Texas city. You can be sure that when I go to these Texas towns again I will be taking a food tour in El Paso, a tour of Galveston Street Art, bird watching tour in East Texas and a cave tour in Sonora. I loved the organization of the book -- by region, by food specialties, and by adventures. The book also has suggestions to for taking photos, links to the cities and sites mentioned, and the best time of year and day to make a visit. I would heartily recommend this book to anyone who loves Texas and wants to expand their travels to some beautiful and historical areas.

If one is looking for a review of the most well-known Texas tourist sites, The Alamo, LBJ’s Birthplace and Library, San Antonio Missions, Dealey Plaza, the San Jacinto Museum and Battlefield etc. then this is not the book for you. If however you are looking to discover more of the soul of Texas, its food (starting with barbecue of course), its parks, music, small out of the way towns, cowboy culture and its off the beaten track adventures, then this is the book for you. It is well written and has links to just about everything/place mentioned so it is easy to get to more detailed information. My only complaint is that a map or two when discussing many of the out of the way locations would have been helpful.

Can’t wait to visit Texas!

I’ve been to the east coast of Texas only but would love to go back. The author breaks this huge land mass down into sections so really, you’d want to visit one or two areas at a time. There is so much to do and see! I’m interested in the piney hills section with the azalea trails. Texas’s landscape and natural beauty is amazing. Well written- easy to follow book with bright colorful pictures. Well organized. A must have book if you plan to visit!

Great for Visitors and for Texans as well!

This is a true gem of a book. It is not a general overview of Texas, but an in-depth guide that includes lesser known but very interesting places to visit from all over the state. This would be good for travelers but also for Texans who want to know what is around them but never got to visit. I am looking forward to visiting many of the places in this guide. Highly recommended

Great Book!!

I've been saying for a while that we need to go to local places in Texas! We don't explore our own state like we should. I'm so excited to have this resource! My first trip will be next month to Fort Worth and I'm using this guide to pick the best places! I really enjoyed the ease of the website too!
