When shy Emily Tucker almost dies and ends up in a coma, her out of body experience gets very physical -- with her sexy business partner and friend, Gavin Wright. Emily isn't sure what's happening as she keeps finding her incorporeal self popping up in Gavin's apartment, but she's running out of time. Her Living Will asks Gavin not to let her linger for long. All she knows for sure is that when she's touching Gavin, she takes physical form again, and this may be her last chance to let him know how she really feels about him. But what will happen when the night's over?

BARELY THERE is a dreamy paranormal short story where the best parts of the narrative are the exploration of the relationship between the two main characters. I found the sexual content slowed down the story slightly, taking a little away from the ethereal mood, but nevertheless, the emotional punch the story packs makes up for this.
Where do I find these books? This time we have a near death experience that tempts the h literally out of her body to seduce her manwhore H. Only love can wake her I guess? Bit cheesy but not the worst book I've ever read. Again waaaay too short this could easily have been the premise for a full length book in fact I think it was done before with a H that could project all except his little finger that got lost in the accident that nearly killed him and the h had find him before he died.

I think this book, if it can even be called that, is another missed opportunity. This "author" could have stretched this into a full length book as opposed to the basic outline of a porn film. With what little, yet deep back story the characters have, there could have been a serious story full of conflict, discovery and love. This just missed the mark. And let's not forget, the formatting of this, so called book, is horrible. Was this self published? If an actual publisher released this, they should re-think their profession.
Go into this short story with a good dose of reality suspension at the ready and I think you’ll enjoy the steam factor.
Em and Gavin have known each other for over seven years, and it takes a tragic accident to show both of these characters that all that separates them is a “gossamer fabric of live and death.” When they finally figure out what they want, it might just be too late.
This story is hot - and I don't just mean steamy from the shower (though that's definitely part of it)! The premise is unique and once I started it, I couldn't put it down. Excellent read - I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good paranormal romance.
This is the first book that I've read by this author and I will tell you that it won't be my last. I enjoyed this story and I loved the ending. I just wish that it had been longer.
Wtf did I just read? Sex with the spirit of a girl in a coma? As happy as I am to suspend belief when reading, there was nothing here to encourage me to do this.
Barely There is one of those short stories that would have made a fantastic novel. Interesting characters that would have made a lasting impression with a novel-length story. A very interesting premise that would have smoked with a novel-length story.
And therein lies my biggest issue. Short stories don't usually have enough meat to satisfy most serious readers. I used to think it was disappointing when a short story wasn't well written. Now, I know it's hugely disappointing when a great short story IS well written. I just want more.
For those that enjoy short stories with a touch of conflict centered on a love-crossed couple, Barely There is the story for you. You won't be disappointed.
I didn't know what I was thinking about this story while reading it. It's really short, about 40 pages I think. It's quite strange. I wasn't sure if it's a "strange good" or a "strange bad". But in the end I really liked it. These 40 pages are packed with sex and emotions though it's quite obvious where this is going.. I think this story makes you think about doing the things you want to be doing and saying the things you wish you could say. I'll stop here because I have a feeling that every word I'd say would be a spoiler.. Just go ahead and read it. :)
this my friends is how a short should be written. im a big fan of paranormal romance so this was right up my alley. i loved the characters both broken in a way but complementing eacvh other well. i wish the author would have fleshed it out a little more but the plot was interesting and I thought unique. the writing was fairly well done with just the right ratio of sweet to naughty. would definitely read more of her work and would so buy an extended version of this one
meh... ok, but - neither here nor there :) i guess the title suits it... It could have been developed into a regular length book with all the emotional background the author tried to cram into this short story... Why not go the whole way and write a book when you have all these good ideas?!? This way it just seemed like lots of info (and sex) was crammed into too little, poorly edited space...
A quick read. Emily is in a coma after a surfing accident and her spirit manifests itself to her platonic business partner Gavin whom she secretly loves. They have astral sex then she wakes up and alls well that ends well. It was mildly entertaining but I'm glad it was free. Not interesting enough to make me seek out other books by the author.
A short, light read. The page count didn't leave much room for character development but I think Hunter did a fairly credible job of making it work, all things considered.
Emily finds herself in a coma. She finds herself visiting her long time crush naked in the shower.Gavin her business partner, she needs to let him know how she feels before its too late.
