Do you know who doesn't belong on a dating site? An Assassin.
Yet, after a night of drunken clarity, I realized I didn't want to spend another holiday alone bobbing for the worm at the bottom of a tequila bottle.
So the question is... How will the sweet & sexy philanthropist I've been matched with, feel about my career choices?
Hi. My Name is Candy. Assassin. Lesbian. Damaged.... and looking for love?
This is a dark FF holiday romance with many content warnings. This book was previously published under a different title, and has been updated from it's original version.
Second time reading this book and I loved it as much as I did the first time I read. I love how Candy was unapologetically herself. She's true to herself and doesn't apologize for it. Even though she's an assassin she still has good morals and standards. She only gets rid of the crap that's walking around this earth.
Holly was a little calmer than Candy but as it turns out matches her crazy perfectly. She came off as a really sweet person with a good caring heart/personality. My favorite thing about her was how easy going she was. She found out the woman she's starting to like is an assassin and once the initial shock wore off she was all for it. We all need a party that supports everything you do 🤷🏽♀️
When they meet their attraction was instant. They had amazing chemistry. When they got to the bedroom sparks flew. Those two were wild together 🤭
I have a soft spot for Candy's BFF Seven. He supports his friend without question. I loved how he took in Holly super fast and watched out for her the same way he does for Candy. Would love a story on him ❤️
Candy can’t believe that man’s wife is acting the way she is. I mean yes she wanted this to happen and has to act upset, but this is just over the top. And yes, Candy is an assassin and really didn’t care about the mess she just made. Sometimes, it’s just part of the job. With not too much time left until Christmas, maybe there may be enough time to fit in one more job? Maybe this will feed the loneliness she’s feeling from being single for so long? Will she ever meet someone who will fit her and her lifestyle with no issue?
This was a fun read. Candy is not just an assassin but a bit more complex. She also has standards that her jobs have to meet and won’t take everything that comes her way. Her relationship with her best friend is great and they make a wonderful little found family. I really enjoyed this twist on a holiday romance.
I love how Candy doesn't take her marks out right away. She ensures she gets it right and it isn't some jealous coworker or ex-first. Then, the twist in this book is that her mark, Holly, turns out to be her perfect match on the dating app that she filled out. This story has some twists about who took the hit out on Holly and more. But I loved Candy's assistant, Seven, and their banter. We will also find out more about them later. Candy is full of twists, and her match with Holly is perfect. They are a wonderful couple, and it's surprising how she takes what Candy does for a living. As a couple, they're hot together. I recommend this as a must-read.
Candy the FMC is an assassin who loves what she does and doesn’t really believe in love.
But when she meets holly things change.
This book was funny packed with well written action sequences and banter. The characters are very well done and they complement each other well.
The relationship between candy and her bff seven is a friendship to kill for. They are amazing for each other and he supports her through everything and always has her back.
Holly and Candy are also so good together, they are funny cute and holly just fits so well with candy..
If you are looking for an FF book that is fun, cute and has some action I recommend picking this one up!
First of all, I'm not that big into FF books. At least I wasn't. This book, however, is making me wonder what other amazing books I'm missing out on. Because this? Is so very good. It's cute and funny and hot. I just wanted to take Candy and Holly and squish them in a big hug. The way Holly just rolls with everything (mostly) is fantastic. Candy's best friend is amazing too. The way he comes through for them and looks out for Holly is literally BFF goals. Im so happy we got that little peak into the holiday with them. It was a cute ending to a great book. 100% recommend this to everyone!
Candy was hilarious signing up to a dating app for free coffee. She's an assassin that takes pride in her job. She doesn't believe in love per se and so is very cynical. Her neighbour/friend/assistant Seven helps her out and is sassy and brilliant. Candy usually only takes hits on bad people so when she takes a certain hit something doesn't add up right.... que Holly, spice and all things steamy.
This was a good read for me! Candy is assassin who takes out the bad in the world and takes crap from no one. She is following her target Holly who candy thinks is up to no good but matches with her on a dating app. Candy realizes holly can take her crazy and doesn’t matter that she is an assassin. The spicy in this was good as well.
This book was unexpected. I really liked it. I loved the craziness of Candy and Holly's sweet, clumsy nature that had a little unexpected craziness underneath. I wish we had learned a bit more about Candy's back story. I love the bit we got to see of Seven.
I’m not normally a huge fan of FF books, but this one was pretty good. It was an interesting, well written, fast paced story. The characters were unique and a little quirky. If you’re looking for a short, holiday themed read in this genre, give this one a try.
This is a dark FF holiday romance. I rwlly loved Candy and her sweetness with her lethality. Holly and Xandy had some incredible and fun banter. These two had huge strong personalities that really shown through.
Candy and Holly are such a cute couple. I loved everything about this book. Candy definitely lives up to her name. This is a quick read, and you won't be disappointed. I hope we get more of Seven in another book.
Candy is funny and twisted which is the perfect compliment to Holly’s sweet and sexy. Throw in some holiday shenanigans and some stabby stabs and the result is a wonderful holiday novella. There is a decent amount of spice for a short story and a HEA.
Previously written during the 12 dates of Christmas of 2023. It had a little redo and I loved it just as much as I did before. Candy is an assassin who only takes jobs that are for the real baddies, people who hurt other people.
Well Candy gets an assignment and it'll be easy peasy, lemon squeezy.... or so she thought. Things don't add up and she feels a different pull to this mark. It's up to Candy to figure out what's really going down, with the wonderful help of her bestie.
Steamy, action packed, who doesn't love waking up on a plane when you hate flying, right? This is a FF so be aware. Wrong place, right time or Right place, wrong time? You decide
The serious aspects worked well (e.g., the assassin who prefers to take out genuine bad folks, the crimes that deserve such punishment). The action sequences were exciting - not overdone but not just included for a plot planning checklist item. The emotions were well portrayed (fear, confusion, anger, not forgetting desire & lust!) and the principal characters themselves (Candy, Holly) were very well-written - seeing things from both points of view worked superbly for this book.
My favourite of all was the delightful humour throughout the book!
This might well have been written as a one-off but I'd love to read more of Candy's life!
Georgia Rayne is re-releasing this fantastically, devilishly delicious Candy filled Christmas Novel. When a hit takes an unexpected turn, this well written story with characters that will make you laugh at their antics, inner dialogue and snarky comebacks, will keep you entertained. Easy to read, FF steam and just a little bit of stabby delights. Jump into this book for a dose of Lethal Candy.
2 stars. The writing was so cringe, I’m sorry. It was trying too hard to be funny and edgy and it bombed. The characters Holly and Candy were also not my favorite, they read more like horny frat bros and that was off putting. None of this worked for me which is unfortunate because the synopsis had me excited but yeah…no. Terrible execution but I can see why this works for people who don’t read a lot of sapphic and I mean that with no shade.
Fast, dark, witty and full of emotions. Not what I was expecting but Georgia is so good at weaving all the good stuff into an amazing story. Richly described characters, great plot and great spice bring her readers this treat.
Whoever said "size doesn’t matter" must have had Lethal Candy in mind. Clocking in on the shorter side of the dark novel spectrum, Georgia Rayne’s latest packs a punch that’s as sharp as a pair of stilettos on a marble floor. It’s a heady cocktail of sass, intrigue, humor, and unapologetic smexiness that will leave you smirking long after you’ve turned the final page.
The star of the show, Candy, is a riot—equal parts femme fatale and comedic genius. Her inner monologues are so delightfully unhinged, I found myself laughing like an escapee from Arkham Asylum (minus the supervillain tendencies, of course). Her banter with herself is so well-written, it deserves its own award category: "Best Snark That Made Me Snort Coffee."
And let’s talk about that plot—chaotic in the best way. Twists and turns come at you faster than a high-speed car chase, with just enough dark intrigue to keep you guessing but not overwhelmed. Add in some steamy moments (let’s just say lethal isn’t the only thing Candy excels at), and you’ve got yourself a story that’s as entertaining as it is addictive.
Georgia Rayne has truly outdone herself, proving that brevity can be just as impactful as a sprawling tome. Lethal Candy is a devilishly good time, and I, for one, am already thirsty for whatever Rayne concocts next. Bravo, Georgia. Bravo.
I absolutely loved reading this story, it was a quick, steamy (FF), hilarious, holiday read. I loved that we got more of these characters. The author is good at capturing funny moments and banter, of course the steam is off the charts, so what is there not to love about this story.
It was a cute FF read and Candy had a lot of funny talks with herself. Candy’s looking for just a holiday romance, but she catches feelings; oops. Come join the fun and the surprises Candy discovers. Does she get her holiday romance? Gotta read it to find out.
Candy, and Holly are both hilarious. I love Seven. It's just cute how they meet. What Candy goes through in her head just funny. Lots of FF steam. Very cute little read
