Ivory's Ruin

Rate this book
***Each book in the Lovesick Series can be read as a standalone in any order, and they each have unique themes and heat levels. Ivory's Ruin is a mildly dark book with heavier spice.

He lives for revenge. She’s his path to redemption.

Everything about the man cloaked in shadow tells her to stay away—his black as night leather jacket, the bitter smell of cigarettes, a warning in his gold eyes when he rejects her outside the frat house. The ruthlessness of his fists when he defends her honor. But Ivory can’t ignore her intuition that something is haunting Adrian from the dark. She’s going to find out how to help, even if it means burying her hidden desires once and for all.

There are certain things we shouldn’t want. She was one of those things.

Someone with a past like his shouldn't corrupt a future like hers. Her heart of gold, coupled with the ability to reach right through his hard exterior, are reasons enough for him to stay away. He’s finally found the clue to solving his father’s murder, but meddling between rival biker gangs will put his family—and Ivory if she gets too close—in danger. They can't be together, even though being apart proves to be just as impossible. Ivory deserves a dominant worthy of her submission and Adrian knows exactly what she needs. In the end, this can only lead to ruin...or love, if they're strong enough.

This book! Oh my days! How I adore Ivory and Adrian’s story!! ❤️‍🔥

500+ pages of: a bad boy biker, a good girl student, revenge, secret desires, MC rivalry, crushing hard, falling harder, passionate words, Dom/sub, toe curling spice, solving a murder and earning all 8.

While Ivory has been secretly seeking out her black knight, he in turn is enamoured although due to past tragedies he feels unworthy of her affection. But they both have something the other needs and only something the other can satiate. How will their story end?

I absolutely loved this book! The way Siberia Johnson describes the journey these characters goes through by highlighting hidden desires, rewriting bad experiences, believing in your own worth and showing those you love just how you value them had me melting into a puddle! And the underlying mystery of Adrian’s past also had me hooked! I didn’t want it to end!

I definitely recommend this story for Adrian’s words alone, that man!! Nia’s Resolve is book 1 which I also suggest reading. This series hits everything a dark romance/dark academia needs!

Another new to me author, and I’m now a fan. I loved everything about this book. It is so well written. The characters are incredibly interesting and fully realized. The plot is captivating, and even though it’s a long book at just under 600 pages, it certainly doesn’t feel like it. The main characters, Ivory and Adrian, go through personal transformations in this book and they also challenge each other to be the best version of themselves, and it’s a beautiful thing to see. The spice is so yummy in this book, and it even sometimes needs a few chapters to cover one scene. The Dom/sub dynamic is excellently portrayed and one of my favorite books I’ve read with that trope. Highly recommend!

So, to be completely honest, it took a couple tries to read Ivory's Ruin. I feel it was more that I was in a reading funk and nothing was working. I tried again on Monday and let me tell you, this book is everything!!!!
Ivory and Adrain story is just chef's kiss 🤌 this book, I honestly have no words for it!
I am so happy that I had the opportunity to be able to arc read this book and now wish I could read it again for the first time!

Ivory & Adrian are just *chefs kiss* 🤌🏻

Ugh I'm struggling on what to say without spoiling things. 😆
I just really freaking enjoyed these 2 characters so damn much !
I love Adrian's character he's got that bad boy side as well as the I'll do anything for her, including wash her hair vibes too. 🥹
And Ivory, I connected with her in more ways than one. She just wants someone who will make her feel comfortable, in every way...
And she has her eyes on a certain dark knight.
But she knows he's not looking for anything serious...but just maybe, he's what she needs.
And yall, the way they need each other....in so many ways. Ugh my heart.
She takes care of him. He takes care of her.
Love the little banter they share when it comes to who's cooking. Who caring for who.
Ivory's character growth was so exciting to see. I was so happy for her to stand her ground, do what she wanted that made her happy...not what her parents wanted for her.
I also liked the suspense mixed in with the story.
But yall,
THE SPICE! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was a slow burn...but when it started getting heated...it engulfed quickly.
The motorcycle scene...🥵

I feel like I'm all over the place with this review 😆
But seriously, I enjoyed it and so excited for the next book in this series. 😍

Thank you Siberia for the arc!

Ivory's Ruin is a college romance following Nia's Resolve. Ivory and Nia, and Adrian and Caspian are best friends. They are standalone books that are very different but equally enjoyable. Ivory's Ruin is darker and more intense with some spice and BDSM.

Adrian is a troubled guy stuck seeking truth and vengeance for the death of his father. He is hellbent on keeping people at arms length, refusing to get too close for fear of losing anyone else or distracting him from seeking vengeance. Enter Ivory, a purple-obsessed, bewitchingly compassionate woman who puts everyone before herself. She penetrates Adrian's shield and affects him more than she realizes. Ivory doesn't see her own strength and self-worth, which Adrian is determined to rectify, whether by reward or punishment.

While reading, I was nervous with the potentially dragged out conflict waiting for resolution that I worried may be rushed, but I was pleasantly surprised with how believably wrapped up everything became. Definitely read Ivory's Ruin all the way. It is so good.

Secret desires, seeking revenge, and finding themselves

Ivory has been watching the mysterious bad boy with the pink hair and wants to find out more. Nia decides to give them a reason to speak since she knows he works at a salon. Suddenly Nia is telling Adrian that ivory needs to have purple hair. Will this be a way to get to know this man or will his aloof attitude keep Ivory away?

I absolutely love this story. Hot biker with an air of darkness and the friendly girl who wants something darker in the bedroom. Ivory is strong, outgoing, determined, driven, obsessed with purple (also my favorite color and I have purple hair so I loved this little piece of info), and wants to submit.

Adrian is your typical bad boy biker except he has long pink tipped hair he wears in a manbun. Adrian has been on a mission for justice for so long he doesn't know much else. When he finds a small clue will he finally be able to have the answers he needs? Will he be able to find what sooths his soul and brings him love and peace?

I absolutely think you should read Nia's story first as there is character cross over but you could just read this one as there is plenty for this to stand alone. I'm excited to read the next person's story as well. These books are well written and I flew through the 500+ pages and could have kept reading more.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

“I won’t bite unless you ask.”
“Do you get asked often?”
“Not by you.”

The story of Ivory and Adrian was hot right from the start. I love how the relationships in the Lovesick book series are so positive and respectful, yet very spicy at the same time. I loved how Nia and Caspian’s story continues in this one and how Ivory and Nia’s friendship is respected by both men and is strong as ever (it’s always nice to see positive friendships).

The trust that Ivory and Adrian have for one another is great to see and really is on another level. I was questioning the toy play that happened until the end of the session. Bravo to that! What a scene! And the degree of consent and positive spicy scenes were really what I look for in spicy novels. I’m not a fan of the abusive relationships that get romanticized, and this book definitely portrays consent and comfort as sexy.

I think that I actually enjoyed this book even more than Nia’s Resolve. And wow, how Adrian stood up for Ivory time and time again and really was her Knight even had me swooning. I can’t wait for the next book in the Lovesick series!

So happy I got the chance to read another arc copy from this author! I enjoyed Nia’s resolve but Ivory’s Ruin?????? WOW loved it so much, I was absolutely hooked on Adrian & his story from the beginning. I do wish there was more searching/deep talks about what happened… I feel like we got lost a bit from it there in the middle/was curious why it took so long to connect the pieces when it was kinda in front of him? Some things I feel could have been left out or the focus could have been more on finding out WHY this was done.
However the focus was on Ivory & their story which I can confess was so much better then doing detective work lol we did come full circle at the end & it was a huge SHOCK at the end… also reading slow burns make me nervous cause I’m impatient but this was perfect in keeping my attention! looking forward to the next read!!! 3/5 spice… 5/5 Dom/Sub exchange really well written

I cannot say enough good things about this book. The writing? Immaculate. Captivating. The characters?! THE MMC?!!?? Heeeeellllooooo. Sign me up for allll of that. I thought this would take me a bit longer to read since it’s just under 600 pages, but holy cow did it fly by. Siberia was a new to me author recommended by one of my very best friends and I have already started reading everything else by her I can get my hands on. Without spoilers…the pew pew…..the motorcycle…..the desk… like this book scratched so many itches in my brain I wish I could go back and reread it for the first time all over again. The emotional rollercoaster this put me through was the highlight of my read pile so far this year and I cannot recommend this highly enough. If you read nothing else, read Ivory and Adrian’s story. #obsessed

Ivory’s Ruin had me cheering, my jaw dropping and going he used a what?! 😦

I kid you not the amount of highlights I have from this book is no short number. It was so hard to pick just one quote for my review. Ivory knows what she wants and eventually she does ask for it, ( you go girl) especially for a character so young. I do love to see that.

Adrian comes off as mysterious and dark, he definitely knows what he wants and how he wants it. “I love seeing you struggle. Making you squirm. Damn, you’re too good for me, but I’m going to destroy you anyway”

Fun times as side 😉 I did enjoy the writing and the flow of the book. Adrian’s angst of should he or shouldn’t he was a real feeling. Ivory is determined to show him his worth.

This can be read as a stand alone or in order after Nina’s resolve.

Ivory and Adrian are from two different worlds. Ivory always being pushed by her mom to be the best version of herself. Adrian dealing with grief and his relationship to the motorcycle gang involved in nefarious activities threatening the let the shadows overtake him.

Siberia takes readers on an emotional journey with the couple that feels magical and grounded at the same time. This story has so many elements that make it the incredible ride it is! Sticking with Ivory while she finds herself and Adrian’s swoon-worthy behavior, this spicy 🥵 Harley ride of a book makes me want to read what Siberia writes the moment I can get my smut-obsessed hands on it!

5/5 stars! Highly recommend!
Motorcycles, lust/k**k play, familial drama, college, and even some fighting action!

This book was such an amazing read, I instantly fell in love with Ivory and Adrian and every part of their story had me hooked. Ivory is the innocent sweet women who hides her hidden desires after a bad experience with Adrains rival. Adrian is her dark knight on his own quest for revenge on those who killed his family and best friend. Adrian is everything Ivory wants and their romance is explosive. I love that Ivory wants to fully submit to Adrian and trust him with her needs and wants and he is so caring and loving but also very dominant. The heat in this book is pure fire, i would say my favorite part was the bedroom swing , it was hot and spicy and very much OMG moments. I would recommend this to anyone who loves dark biker spicy romance.

Excuse me, the title should not be "Ivory's Ruin," but "The Saving of Ivory," because Adrian is definitely her savior. He shows her that she is a strong woman capable of anything and everything. They are so cute and perfect for each other, and I swooned throughout the whole book with so many feels.

I loved the additional themes with the biker clubs and the rivalry; it was a great touch to the narrative. I also didn't know I wanted a hairdresser as a boyfriend until I met Adrian—omg, it's so great!

Overall, a fantastic read with a perfect blend of romance, action, and character growth. Highly recommend!

ARC Review ✨️

☆Ivory and Adrian♡

These two are amazing! I loved the way they both cared for each other, and the chemistry they shared was intense! Adrian is currently grieving his father. He's searching for the truth and wanting to seek revenge for his father's death. Ivory is a beautiful FMC who has absolutely no idea how much she's worth. She tends to put herself to the side to please everyone else. They find each other at the perfect time!
This story was so dark and spicy! I need more! The motorcycle scene was so hot! This author did a wonderful job putting this story together!

Tropes:
Dark romance
Motorcycle gang
Revenge
Dual Pov

Thanks so much to the author for the ARC!

I am so in love with Adrian and Ivory.

I wouldn’t say it was an angsty story but instead more of a slow build that started at both of them stalking each other at parties. Honestly, I believe the two were in love with each other before they ever even spoke a word.

While I wouldn’t call this a dark romance it does have dark themes outside of their relationship, so make sure to check your triggers.

This book was just so sweet, I loved their relationship.

This spice in this was so good. While it was a slow burn, once we got there, it lit up on fire. If you read Caspian and Nia’s story, don’t expect the two to be the same in terms of spice… because this one had a a lot more and the kinks were fantastic.

Adrian calls Ivory “Little Witch” and I LOVE that!! I flew through this book when I could sit down and focus on it. I love the characters that Siberia Johnson created and the way she made us feel what the characters were feeling.
Adrian definitely was playing hard to get at first by telling Ivory he doesn’t do relationships but when he fell he fell HARD!
This book definitely made me go through a range of emotions and at some points had me giggling like a schoolgirl and kicking my feet. I can’t wait to read more by Siberia Johnson.

Adrian & Ivory are perfect for each other and I really enjoyed getting their story! Seeing Ivory step into her confidence and stand up for herself had me feeling so proud of her - and the way Adrian encouraged and supported her to do so had me swooning. Adrian is a typical 'bad boy' but seeing his soft soft for Ivory was so sweet. The slow burn and tension between them was perfect and those steamy scenes are hot!

What to expect:
-dark college romance
-biker gangs
-dom/sub
-kink exploration
-revenge
-dual POV

Thank you so much to Siberia Johnson for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book was so amazing and well written. I loved that both the main characters were Infatuated with each other from the start and couldn’t stay away from one another. I loved that there was a gang vibe but it didn’t overrun the story. I loved that it had violence, instant connections, fall fast, found family.

A torturously hot slow burn with a bad boy biker trying his level best to resist a good girl who effortlessly slides behind every defense he's got. Literal flames jump from the pages, walls crumble to dust, and it takes about two seconds to lose your heart to Adrian the same way Ivory does because this biker boy does not play around. Sexy, domineering, hidden heart of gold, perfection that only gets better as he gives Ivory lesson after scorching hot lesson, it's delicious eat up every word seduction on every single page and it feels like never enough as you fall right alongside these two.
Loved every single second of this read, it is without a doubt one of the hotter slow burn's I've read. Both main characters are easy to love, easy to see the growth in, and it's so easy to see how much they balance each other and bring out their best sides and most happiness. The plot is definitely consuming, gives you that burning have to know feeling about both where Adrian and Ivory will end up and also about what his past might mean for their future, absolutely keeps you enthralled the whole book. And I love a balanced book and this one is definitely that, past with present, tender with pure lust, the relationship with everything going on outside of it. Just a really fantastic read and a really well written book from Siberia Johnson.

Ivory's Ruin by Siberia Johnson is the second book in the Lovesick series. It’s a slow burn Adult Romance with Revenge, Praise & Punishment, Only one Motorcycle, Touch her and you die, Bad boy/Good Girl and Possessive Alpha Hero.

This book is dual POV. The first POV is Ivory, the MFC. She is good compassioned person, always helping everyone and she is purple obsessed. She want someone to teach her new things and to support her when she stumbles. Her wishes might come true when she meets her Black Knight.

The second POV is Adrian, the MMC. He is the bad boy who doesn't do relationships only agreements until he meets Ivory. His little witch. He is the perfect Dom.

I loved this story. It made me swoon, it was spicy, there was tension and drama and it was an easy read. One of the main treads throughout this book is dom/sub storyline. It was done so well especially with Ivory's past relationship fears. My favourite part of the book was no matter what Adrian and Ivory fully supported each other.

I loved how this book was completely different from the first book, Nia's resolve , but we did get to see Nia and Caspian again. These books have everything you want or need in a Romance. These books can be read as standalones as well. I can’t wait to read Serena's story in the next book.

Thanks so much to Siberia Johnston for sending me this arc for an honest review

I really wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading Ivory’s Ruin. But I was quickly pulled in and engaged in the story. It’s dark, but also sweet. It’s lusty but also loving. It’s two people whose attraction is magnetic but the build up makes for the eventual connection to be all the much better.

There was so much in Ivory that I could relate to. She is suffocated by her family’s wants and has to break free to be what she wants. She’s the good girl that has lived her life for others and it takes Adrian to finally convince her to start living for herself. Adrian gives her the freedom she craves. Even if that freedom involves submission in other ways.

Who doesn’t love a broken bad boy MMC that falls for the good girl? I love that Adrian can be dominant but also sweet and want to be everything for Ivory. Their relationship is steamy but also they provide what each other needs in their life.

This book has a little bit of everything. It has dark college romance, biker club, sweetness, D/S dynamics and a slow burn that makes the spice all that much nicer. It has characters that are able to develop and grow with each other. And the spice is spicy. I definitely enjoyed reading this book. It is a little bit on the long side, but it didn’t feel that way when you are reading it. The story is so engaging that I was able to read through it fairly quickly.

Ivory is a good girl who has a secret dark desire. Adrian is a bad boy who doesn't believe he is worth saving.

Ivory is trying live up to her mother's overbearing expectations. She's spent her life feeling as though she is not enough for her mom and her lack of confidence shows. She's ashamed of her dark desires because she knows it's not something her mom would understand or approve of. She let's others walk all over her.

Adrian is stuck in the past after losing his father and best friend tragically. He doesn't care about his own well being. He just wants to solve the mystery of his father and friend's death...and get revenge on the responsible party. Even if it costs him his life.

Adrian and Ivory are total opposites and help each other realize that they are both worthy of love. Adrian helps Ivory learn that having a kink is not something to be ashamed of and the kink can be a part of a healthy relationship with open communication. Ivory makes Adrian realize that he has something to live for. That there is more to life than death and revenge.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was very spicy and had a lot of spicy scenes. I connected with both Adrian and Ivory and feel that they are well-rounded characters. If you enjoy lots of spice and Dom/sub dynamic in the bedroom, then this is definitely for you.

🏍️ ARC review : Ivory’s Ruin by Siberia Johnson 🏍️

(2.8.2024) - (15.8.2024)

First off, let me start with a huge thank you to Siberia for all she has done for us as her readers and ARC team. She’s been nothing but amazing to work with and I love her and her writing so much.

When I read Nia’s Resolve and got to learn more about Ivory’s character and all the silly banter between Adrian and Caspian, I knew I wanted to read more of them, immediately. Something about them just… made me swoon, straight of my little feet.

Between the bad boy good girl banter and chemistry and the revenge/murder mystery plot, Siberia enthralled me so deep into this book’s grasp. My annotated copy, courteously of Siberia 🫶🏻, is full of tabs and highlights. I loved it so much, and I truly and honestly recommend. Just from how observant Adrian was, about anything, but most importantly Ivory; to how he gave her the nickname “Iv” almost immediately. He’s got to be one of my top 10 book boyfriends, this year, I swear.

Please, please if you haven’t already, give Siberia’s writing a chance, I seriously doubt you’d regret it!

If you are looking for a spicy book focused on dom/sub play then this is for you. It’s about 75% build up and smut and 25% plot.

This is a story of a sunshine girl who wants to be submissive and a grumpy boy who claims to be a bada** dom (as a sophomore in college) being drawn to one another even though he feels like he is undeserving because he has unfinished business in regards to uncovering who killed his best friend and father. He also rides a really nice motorcycle and is a bit of a golden retriever underneath all the gloom.

Totally honest, this book wasn’t really for me. I think seeing the graphics and then reading the book just confused me because they didn’t match up with the energy or descriptions of the book. I tried hard to disassociate from that but struggled. Also it is written in 3 person POV so if you are okay with that and love a lot of sexual tension and spice then you will eat this up!

Thank you Siberia for one of my favorite reads this month!

I'm obsessed with a good biker romance, and from page 1 I was sucked into Ivory's and Adrian's thrilling storyline. Siberia's way of showcasing both Ivory and Adrian's side to their storyline in a dual POV really made this book that much better for me. I really connected with both of them in different ways and loved that Adrian had this mysterious side to him. In the beginning, he was very closed off to showing Ivory more about himself on a deeper level, but it was obvious that he truly cared and wanted to protect her. He had this bad boy persona, but around Ivory, he had a more softer side that you normally don't see in a bad boy biker. Their character development was incredible to see, especially with Ivory. It was a bit of a slow burn, but once the spice scenes came in, it was a DAMN good read! I've been a fan of Siberia since "Nia's Resolve" and can say "Ivory's Ruin" did not disappoint me at all! I can not wait to see what she writes next!
