Running from my past seemed like a good idea at the time. Too bad it’s about to catch up to me.

Fending off murderous mages isn’t exactly at the top of my ideal to-do list, but when they start flinging spells at our vampires, I’m the only one equipped to fight back. Doesn’t matter that I’m out of magical shape—I’m going to have to fall back on all my training to keep Adam, the vampire I care way too much about, safe. That’s the least of it. Adam’s ever-present smile might have me weak in the knees, but when my best friend’s younger brother, Drew, arrives, I’m thrown for another loop. The big, sweet wolf is clearly running from something, and he has no idea the lengths I’ll go to protect him, too.

Turns out it’s not just me. Adam’s as drawn to Drew as I am, and though I’m willing to step aside and let them have each other, he floats a different idea. What about the three of us? An impossible thought, especially when the truth comes out and the specter of my biggest regret returns to haunt me in a very real, very lethal way.

As if I have time to dwell on all that. The three of us are targets, our enemies closing in on every side. And as danger looms, I come face-to-face with the one question I’d hoped never to have to answer How far will I go to protect—or avenge—the people I love?

Blood Ties is a fated mates, slow(ish) burn MMM urban fantasy, featuring a snarky, powerful mage, and the cheeky vampire, and cinnamon roll werewolf he finds himself drawn to. It contains steamy scenes between three men and all the violence—and blood—you might expect from a vampire romance. This is the second in a three-book series, where each book features a different relationship within one overarching plot, and cannot be read as a standalone.

This series keeps getting better and better.
The plot gets more complicated as we delve into Drew's, Adam's and Sam's backstories. And present relationship.
We met the mage, the vampire and the wolf in the previous book and I was sooo excited to see how their romance developed. And also to learn more about the evil dude, and what was going on with Drew's and Kieran's dad. This book has a few antagonists and enemies, both related to the overarching plot and to each individual MC. And I loved that so much. It didn't give me any time to breathe lol

The romance was ROMANCING. It's not a fast burn, but there's quite a lot of heat from the beginning. The looks, the touches, the sweet little things. I live for those! Also, the polyam rep was on point. Each character had a distinct and unique relationship to the others and they had one on one intimacy moments that had me swooning hard.

Sam and Adam are attracted to one another, but Sam is afraid of wrecking his relationship with Kieran. Adam is just the most patient and sweet vampire ever, and he's willing to wait for him. Then we've got Drew, who we met in the first book as Kieran's brother, a huge delightful and bashful werewolf. I love how Alexandra subverts the trope of the fierce violent werewolf with unstoppable instincts and turns it on its head, giving us a sweet gentle man, a bit chunky (*swoons*), though his protectiveness is all wolf. Both Sam and Adam are attracted to him, but are just waiting for Drew to feel comfortable enough to open up. Little by little, both the mage and the vampire make Drew feel safe around them. Though his doubts about how they are going to work, make him feel terrible. But there's always amazing Adam, being his comforting and patient self, to let Drew and Sam work their inner conflicts out.

The plot gets more complicated, someone is challenging the vampire clan's rule, and also Lucien. There are mages, vampires and werewolves threatening the peace from every side. And the secrets a few of our MCs are keeping from the others reach a breaking point.

This series is PNR perfection and I CAN'T WAIT for the next book.

🔥🔥🔥

This is such a fun paranormal series. This book really has so much going on: One ongoing mystery that carries over from book one, one new mystery (more like drama rather than mystery I guess) and the slow burn of a Shifter/Vampire/Mage throuple. It did not disappoint!

You really do have to read book one, and read these in order, because there is a lot of carry over of the plot. I can't say too much about the plot because it is so tied to book one, so I will talk about our three main guys. Sam the Mage is a feisty guy that is SO bossy and has so much attitude. Major black cat energy! Adam the lovable & seriously horny vampire knows what he wants and right away sets off to bring these guys all together,. My fav is Drew, the sweet cinnamon roll of a shifter thats also the biggest but the most submissive of the bunch. You just want to protect him at all cost.

As the story progresses, some problems are solved and some are just beginning to have light shed on them, and will definitely be continuing in the next book. I'm totally committed to this series and can't wait to see what the next book brings.

“Blood Ties is a fated mates, slow(ish) burn MMM urban fantasy, featuring a snarky, powerful mage, and the cheeky vampire and cinnamon roll werewolf he finds himself drawn to. It contains steamy scenes between three men and all the violence—and blood—you might expect from a vampire romance. This is the second in a three-book series, where each book features a different relationship within one overarching plot, and cannot be read as a standalone.”

It definitely can’t be read first otherwise you’ll be lost and not in a good way within this supernatural world of vampires, werewolves, mages, hunters, humans and whatever Kieran is.

Go and read book 1 if you haven’t already .

This book is a MMM love story between Sam, Drew and Adam.

Book one has me wondering about Sam and his past and in this book we find out. We also get to see Sam and Kierans first meeting.

Drew, Kierans werewolf brother, has escaped from his father and werewolf village community, as well as a forced live match. He is staying with his brother for safety and for reconnecting with each other.

Adam (Vampire from book 1) and Sam (Magic from book 1) are fighting their attraction . Then Sam meets Drew and they have sparks of attraction. Why not have both Sam?

Drew has childhood trauma regarding Vampires , which Kieran did too . That back story is in book 1.

Ah the intricate details of a love triangle just beginning . Three way love admiration? These boys are all attracted to each other but are confused … and confusing.

“A shiver runs through me. I want to look after them. I want to protect them. I want to take them to pieces.”

“my mind runs away from me for a second as I imagine the two of us moving Sam easily, sandwiching him between us… “

Sam brings up a good point about werewolve mates, since Drew is a wolf , can’t he smell his mate? Can wolves have two mates ?

Sam is being framed for murder so decides to help the council to find the real culprit.

“Even if he’s looking, he and Adam have something going on, and I’m not about to do anything to change that.”

More confusion abounds with in the love triangle. Secrets and non communication but I can see how that would be awkward to broach when everyone is unsure of all the mutual feelings.

“Adam’s face swims into my mind and heat floods my face. I can’t have both of them. I can’t—It’s not fair. On either of them. On me.”

This is such a drawn out slow burning love story, I’m like come on guys give me the romance, give me the sexy times!! Luckily there’s still that entwining action plot of vampires, mages, hunters and werewolves that will be spread over the three books to keep my attention . Cos I’m really not a slow burn kinda girl.

“I mean this,” I hiss, gesturing at the sofa and the two men lying on it. “We kissed! And I thought…” I trail off, irritated at the hurt in my voice. Why would he want me? Drew is soft and sweet and probably hasn’t ever killed one person, let alone two.”

Ahh finally Adam , decides to let the other two know that three is more fun!

“It’s just an idea, Sam. A feeling. If you want?” If I want… what? The three of us together?”

Wow When Adam sets his mind on an idea , he really goes for it.

“My cheeks burn. I jerk my gaze away. Then back. “All of us?” Adam grins. His fangs flash in the dim light of the room, and that shouldn’t spark a fire in me, but it does.”

Adam even thinks the three of them are mates, he can sense it I guess. Sam is hesitant to rush into anything with either of them as he doesn’t want to ruin his friendship with Kieran and others. Drew is hiding secrets . I’m Team Adam - go get your men ! Give us sexy times!

Adam is now framed for a murder. Power plays by unknown enemies targeting Adam, Sam, Kieran, Lucien and Drew.

Finally FINALLY Adam initiates sexy times with the three of them .

“Our precious wolf. Our bossy mage. Fuck, I’m going to make them mine. I don’t care what it takes.”

All three are on the same page, the three of them together exclusively.

I am getting so frustrated about Drew’s secret and why , when he has chances, he’s not telling anyone and possibly putting his loved ones in danger. Like, come on, you already know they are battling enemies and this is another one they need to know about! What if they are all connected?

“We’ll just ask him. I’m sure he’ll tell us if we do.” “But he didn’t,” Sam says. His jaw clenches. “He could have told Kieran, even. Why won’t he trust us with what’s going on?”

Exactly Sam!!

Drew is just realising a mating bond has snapped into place and freaking out which one of his lovers it is . Guess he also thinks it can only be one. Plus the whole other issue which he still isn’t telling anyone about - arghhh!

Omg Adam is my favourite- he just knows the inner workings of their relationship .

“There’s one thing I just don’t get. Drew has to know we’re both his, right? “

Now Adam is kidnapped. The other two figure out they are all mates and go to save their man.

Ok so there’s action, there’s some resolution on some things, and a new pack is formed.

“The bond pulses between the three of us.”

I love you’s are unspoken but known and felt.

We get a feel for the next and final book at the end of this book.

This book was a bit slow and frustrating to read. Yet also enough action and plot to interest me to keep me reading . More sexy times needed!

➡️ MC's:
Sam Ware 29(I loved him in book one) ➡️ a snarky, bossy, fierce, and powerful Fae-blessed mage with a big secret (a past thing...).
He's a loyal best friend to Kieran, who he "borrows" oversized hoodies without asking.
Sam has a big crush on Kieran's brother.
His underwear always has something cheeky to say.
He loves drawing, painting, and dancing with sexy guys.

Adam Heath 73(25) ➡️ a cheeky, sunshine vampire with confidence but... he's always the one in the group who gets attacked, knocked unconscious, or seriously injured, poor thing.
He has a lot of patience and love to give and enjoys dancing with a certain sexy mage.

Drew 25 ➡️ a huge, delightfully protective werewolf who loves baking and period dramas (especially my beloved Jane Austen).
He's a bit timid and insecure, with a sweet and beautiful human side, though he carries a lot of emotional damage. He's a diligent person with a big secret... and he's running away from it (or him).

👏The fights are perfect. I imagined the special effects in my head😵‍💫, the magic, the colors, the scents, the battles. It's a perfectly created and enlightening scenario.
Here’s the revised version with your addition:

🥰If I thought the first book was good, I’d give this one six stars. We even have a Kieran chapter, a new step for the pack... purrfect🐺. And we finally finish off with our ethereal vampire. Yeah!

▪︎FAV QUOTES▪︎
■💭Drew "daydreaming"💭: "His smile is nothing like Sam’s. Sam is more hesitant but also sly and knowing and makes my stomach clench. Adam is bright, almost ironically sunny, and I wonder what his lips taste like."

■Adam: "His shorts pull tight over his arse, and I chuckle when I read them. Good night, sweet prince."

■Adam: "Our vicious, clever little mage.”

■Sam: '"Now you’ve sent both my mates away…” He crosses his arms over his chest. “This had better be good.”'

■Adam: "'Pretty little wolf,” I murmur in his ear, and he whines again. “I’m not little.” I huff. “You’re not arguing about being pretty, then?” Drew’s cheeks go red, and Sam laughs..."

🤓I always loved to read vampire books or separately werewolf books, but this series merged the two words perfectly. And I cannot forget de mages, well done Keira👏. I'm definitely going to read this again.
I seriously loved some of the side characters I would like or hope they will get their own book... one day😉!

👏👏👏 I think this is the second time I've read a Supernatural or Fantasy book/saga that doesn’t go into too much unnecessary detail about what the characters are cooking or eating, and I'm 47 years old, having read books in this category since I was a teenager.
I tend to prefer books that don't describe every meal the characters are having in each scene, or at least not more than once or twice. It's not just because I'm vegan—I fully respect everyone’s choices—but I don't believe a character's personality or lifestyle should be defined by their food preferences.
This is also why I usually avoid books focused on chefs or food. But I read the book with great comfort.

💯 I'm looking forward to reading the following books in this Series. I can't wait for it, Vasile's book and their past love/enemies 🥰

✅️ I highly recommend this book. It's a beautifully well written paranormal story

😉 Thanks for reading hope this helps you out!

A Joyfully Jay review.

2.5 stars

This is the second book in the Monsters of London series and the books are best read in order. This one started out better for me than the first book in the series, Bad Blood, but quickly succumbed to the same issues as that story.

The characters and the relationships in the books are good, but the world building and character development are not, making this a chore to get through. The book is long at 474 pages and, with no true world building or character growth, this book could have been a lot shorter for me. There is a lot going on that pulls the characters in many different directions, so they are all over the place. Everyone is so busy and they keep secrets from each other. Drew has a secret, of course, because everyone has them, and it a dangerous one that puts everyone in danger, but he doesn’t tell anyone. Then, he gets irate when information is withheld from him and other characters have their own secrets.

After reading book 1 I could not wait to dive straight back into this world and I was not disappointed because I loved this, like really loved it and I didn’t think I would when I knew it would be the Wolf side of things. Vampires I can get on board with, I get them (I read Dracula as a teen on repeat when I was going through my ‘darkness is my friend’ phase so I get it haha) but wolves? I’ve never had any interest in them really. But this series has absolutely changed that!

This is amazing and I was halfway through it before I even realised. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this a few months ago and I've already read this twice since I got a copy, it really is that good!

Plot is constantly keeping you guessing, you have no idea what's coming next or where it's going to go and I loved it.

The relationship between Adam, Sam and Drew is stunning. I'm not usually a fan of MMM but this one is written so so well I couldn't not fall in love with these 3 (well, I was already head over heals for Adam but this just sealed the deal for me 😊). The dynamic between the 3 was really good. Drew is a little timid, in total need of love and care but absolutely adorable. Adam – go Adam!! Genuinely didn’t know he had it in him haha. Loved him in this, I loved him in book 1 but seeing him in this was just *chefs kiss*. 100% my fav from this book. Then Sam!! Bossy little sh*t that he is, loved how his struggle with himself to go for what he wanted came through, absolutely loved it.

You also get a very decent amount of Kieran & Lucien in this. I’m fed up of follow up books that follow the same group of people taking a new couple/throple and more or less ignoring those that have come before them! Just throwing them in as a pop up every now and then winds me up but this didn’t do that (thank you so much!!) They’re still there, still in it the perfect amount so they don’t overrun the book (they’ve had their turn after all) but are still key to the story.

P.s. That last chapter 🤯🤯🤯Hand on my heart I did NOT see that coming at all!!!

4,5 stars for an awesome second book in this series.

I loved the first book and was really looking forward to this one. And it does not disappoint.

Adam, Sam and Drew are complex characters with a lot of background. I loved getting to know them better.
Adam was maybe the least complex and flashed out character, but they needed at least one without too many hang-ups 😉

Their relationship was not easily won, but for me it worked perfectly

Now I am even more curious about the next book.

Another solid entry in Alexandra's Monsters of London series. Her writing is solid, the way the plot builds, the way the romance unfolds, the way the characters feel real... It's already so good, I can't way to see her grow more and more with every book she brings us. Loved Adam, Drew and Sam's story and I am SO glad I waited to finish the series until all books were out because ahaha the overarching plot is... phew.

first of all i'd like to thank the author for giving me an e-arc in exchange for a honest review!!

i don't think you UNDERSTAND how obsessed i am with this series!! it's been ages since i read a book this good with a well developed plot and characters i love and where NONE of them piss me off, and i appreciate this a lot!!

i loved drew, adam and sam so much and i've been looking for a well developed book about a throuple ever since i read not good at goodbyes and was traumatized by the lack of any sort of connection- this however? the longing, the angst, the drama- it was exquisite!! it'll be hard to stop yapping about them tbh!!

also i love how the plot develops over all three books, it keeps the reader interested and invested in the series!! it's been a long time since i read a book this good!!

if you love found family, vampires/ mages/ werewolves i can only recommend this to you!!

I would like to thank GRR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Ooof i was really looking forward to this book but I'd spent the majority of Blood Ties shouting at Drew and i'm still pretty uncool about it! But there was some very steamy MMM action, and also some regular old supernatural fighty action, so the last quarter of this really came through for me!

This installment had a lot going on, and while some of that was fun, i didn't feel emotionally connected to the throuple in this. Sure they were hot to read when the lights went out, but I was stymied by Drew's inability to share his story with his loved ones, which i'd figured out within 7 seconds of the first chapter...and i wasn't the only one!

I just. Wasn't. Getting. It.

I know no one told Drew the deets about London, but reading the room wasn't difficult to parse, babe!

Remember: If you're old enough to fk, you're old enough to communicate...especially important shit like: just as a heads up, it has been brought to my attention that my being in your space may compromise your security, as i see you are currently dealing with some violent supes who are likewise compromising your security.

Other than that (for 3/4 of the book), I really liked the fight scenes, because mage-boy Sam and wolfed-out Drew were pretty badass, and Kieran was super fab as expected! But the plot was a bit OTT, and my shouting "whaaaaaaat?!?!?!" every 10% was a bit too much, even for me. I don't mind complex or complicated, but some of this was hamster wheel motion, and i think the emotional resonance suffered a bit because of all the "keep-it-close-to-the-chest" contrivances.

But it all got sorted in the end, and the last 25% was really awesome and left me with a good feelings and a proper hook for Book 3, Out For Blood, so I'm very excited for that! Crai Vasile and Alpha Deacon promise to be powerhouse badasses, and i'm very much looking forward to that vampy-wolf "it's impossible" steamy tension, as they've a mutual evil villain to vanquish and teamwork does indeed make the dream work! Can't wait!

This is book two in a trilogy. Each book will be about a different couple (or thruple for book two) but the overarching plot continues through the three books.

I have a rule about giving books five stars. Certain things will trigger an automatic five star read for me. One of them happened here. I could not put it down. I was so engaged in the plot, I could not stop reading it. So, five stars.

I said it when I reviewed book one and I’ll say it again. I love the world building here. Vampires, mages, werewolves, witches, fae, hunters, clans, covens, packs, magic systems, and all the rules that go with. It’s wonderfully done.

Book two stars:

Sam: mage from an old and extinct mage family. Sassy, fierce, and powerful.
Adam: vampire who is both confident and has moments where he is very scared.
Drew: werewolf with lots of emotional damage who is very sweet with a big secret following him around.

The three of them feel an instant connected. Sam and Adam already did and we see hints of it in book one, but as soon as they spot Drew, they each feel a connection with him as well. Each character goes through the “I can’t have them both” and “but I wish I could have them both” as we go through the book. Every once in a while you want to shake them and be like “Can you people TALK to each other please?” but where is the fun in that?

However, that is not what kept me up all night. The plot is so good. We get part two of the mystery here and even solve pieces of it. But we can still see we’ve got a ways to go in book three. Again, like book one, I would not call this a cliffhanger so much a set up for book three, which I cannot wait to read.

Tropes: mage x vampire x werewolf, touch him and actually die, angst, best friend’s brother, size difference, triad, slow burn

That was a really good read...

I'm still a little disappointed that whatever happened in the past with Kieran and Drew and their father, and the Adam, Lucien and Nathan incident wasn't explained in detail... It was pretty vague with things like no one thought he would do something like that, or no one suspected anything...
BUT the story of what was happening now was incredibly written, I liked the intricacies of the events and the relationship between all parties involved...
I liked all characters, main and secondary... And I love that we get more than just a love story, there's also friendship and family.
The love story in itself was sweet with a toch of enough angst that made me frustrated for them to just get together already, and I liked it... Although I have to admit that there were a couple of choices made by one of the MCs that I'm not in complete agreement with, but luckily it wasn't something that stretched on for too long...
Drew was interesting, I have a sweet spot for big teddy bears, and he was just so sweet and shy I loved him... Sam was as imposing as always, we already got to see his power in the last book but now we get to see more of his personality too... And Adam balancing the relationship and taking the steps necessary to move things forward was interesting....
I loved that ending with Kieran too...
And that final chapter!!!!.... I had my suspicions since the last book about those two characters but I'm so glad that the ship is real and we have a book about them next... I can't wait to read it...

POV: multiple POV (mostly the three main leads with a couple of chapters of others)
Tropes: vampires, werewolves, mages, found family, fated mates, hurt/comfort, MMM.
Spice: medium (two detailed scenes), one MC with submissive personality, praise kink.
CW: kidnapping, blood, death.

This is another must read for me. I love how the vampire, mages & supernaturals come together into 1 book and make it so dang good.

Sam, Adam & Drew all have their own stories to tell but the biggest secret to be held is from Sam. He will end up having to come clean about his life. Sam & Adam were attracted to each other from the start and then when Drew entered into their lives, Adam was the first to figure out more. Drew is running from someone and he doesn't want to involve anyone else because of what they are currently going through but when he thinks he can keep it hidden, he finds out that he didn't do such a good job.

Sam & Adam know something is going on with Drew and that he is hiding something big from them. Adam finally has a talk with Sam to get him to understand that they all can be together and nothing will break them apart. Sam knows that someone is out to kill the people he wants to protect so he will need to tone up his powers so he can be ready. Adam won't let anything happen to his two men and he will do whatever he can to keep them safe. He doesn't expect to be framed but he trust his maker and Sam.

Sam, Adam & Drew come together and learn that they need each other. There is a lot for them to work through but also to comfort Drew in the best way possible. When it is time for them all to face the bad people, they will stop at nothing until they are all safe.

I love how all three of them have the connection but it's also a slow burn and not fast build up. It's so good to see each one of them open up a little more each time. You really get to know each of them and what they want. One thing is for sure, they are a found family and with the others in their group, it's their own pack.

I received an ARC through Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review.

The second book in the Monsters of London series from Alexandra Keillor picks up right where the first book left off. Kieran’s brother Drew, a werewolf, is on the run and has come to London for help. Kieran and Lucien are still dealing with the ongoing events from the first book but they immediately welcome Drew into their family and try to keep him safe and insulated from the dangers they have been facing. At the same time Drew is running from something at home and it has followed him to London. Drew can tell Kieran and his friends are hiding something and doesn’t want to burden them with his own issues. As Drew tries to deal with things on his own, he becomes involved with Adam, a vampire, and Sam, a mage. The three of them slowly form a relationship but their self-sacrificing ways and lack of communication make things much harder. Everything comes to a head and Drew, Adam and Sam have to fight to stay together and keep each other safe even though their pasts threaten to tear them apart.
This is book two of three in the Monsters of London series and I loved this one just as much as I loved the first one. Keillor has the ability to write characters that I care about and want to be happy without bogging down the plot with a bunch of backstory. I can only tell you the barest of details about Drew, Adam and Seth before the events of this book but it doesn’t matter. I love them and want them to live happily ever after with Kieran and Lucien in London. This series just keeps getting better as a whole. The plot is complicated and we get a quite a bit more information about the big bad that is orchestrating everything in the background without learning anything substantial. I still don’t know how everything will tie up in the end in book three but I can’t wait to find out.

Ok, so, I was given an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review. Which I signed up to so quickly because it sounded right up my street. By now you will have seen my love letter to the first in the series, Bad Blood, so let's get into this as well.

I liked how after the prologue, the story picks up pretty much straight after Drew's chapter at the end of book 1, so we knew exactly when the timeline was and where we were picking up from. The overarching plot continues in this book, but we also get like a plot that is resolved at the end of each book and then set up for the following book. So remember it is important that these books are read in order. I really enjoyed seeing Lucien and Keiran again as well, especially seeing Keiran's POV for one of the chapters as well!

Again, the spice is very minimal in these books. I think we had 2 scenes and a handful of kisses. But because of how full on the plot is, you don't feel like you need more. Whilst I did enjoy these scenes, the kind of light dom/sub dynamic isn't for me, so that didn't really work for me personally, but, I did know about that before reading, so I knew it was coming.

Overall, I think this book was fantastic. The level of attention to detail that has gone into it is absolutely astonishing and I'm really looking forward to the
next instalment in the series! Very well done to Alexandra Keillor.

My favorite couples are MMM and this was probably one of the best ones written. It wasn’t just straight sex and I appreciated that there was the back story that we got to learn about each character.

Drew, Adam and Sam were so adorable together and I only wanted more. I felt for each and everyone of them but I absolutely loved cinnamon roll Drew. Poor baby has really been through it. And when Hale tracked him down, I wanted to scream. Adam is just the most adorable vampire ever and man, he went through it too. I was so happy when Adam finally came out who he was because it was eating him alive.

I knew Kieran was special and when he was given permission to start his own pack, I was so overjoyed because he had all the wolf tendencies but wasn’t able to shift. Kieran is a straight up alpha and everyone listens!

This book had me shook in some parts but then I was overjoyed. I loved how even though Drew was as a wolf, his mates just wanted to take care of him no matter the cost. Super sweet.

Whoa. The ending… I was not expecting that teaser at the end! I need book three like, right now!

I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

“Blood Ties” was a great continuation of this of this series and just like the last book I found it hard to put down! It is the perfect blend of urban fantasy, action, and steamy M/M/M romance. The world is filled with powerful mages, dangerous magic, vampires, and werewolves, all tangled up in a high-stakes battle for survival.

Sam, the snarky and sharp-witted mage, struggles with his feelings for Adam, the charismatic vampire who oozes charm and never fails to get under his skin. Then there’s Drew, the big-hearted werewolf with a past of his own, whose sweetness balances the intensity of the trio’s relationship. The dynamic between them is electrifying—each character brings something unique to the table, and their emotional and physical chemistry is undeniable.

What really stood out to me is how the author took time to develop the slow-burn romance between these three. The tension builds in a way that feels natural, and when things finally heat up, it’s incredibly satisfying. But it’s not just about the romance—the action sequences are just as thrilling. Sam is forced to face down dark magic and old enemies, all while trying to protect the people he loves. The stakes are high!

The overarching plot is full of suspense, and the way the story weaves together the magical conflicts and the personal ones is masterful. By the end, I was deeply invested in all three characters and eager to see what happens next.

BLOOD TIES is the second book in the Monsters of London series and absolutely needs to be read as the series not as a standalone. We continue the story with Drew making his escape and meeting up with Kieran, and Sam and Adam dancing around each other.

WHAT. A. STORY! It just gets better! I loved how Drew was the biggest but also the softest cinnamon roll you'll ever see. The relationship between the three of them was so well written - all of them were so concerned about not being in the way of the others. I was glad when Adam stepped up. Before they get jiggy with it though, there is so much tenderness, touches, and heartfelt looks, that my heart just melted.

The overarching story moves on and becomes even more in-depth and layered. You still don't know the half of it, but what you do know makes it clearer. Kieran and Lucien are still big players, with Kieran becoming even bigger by the end of the book, which made perfect sense to me. I am absolutely loving this series. Not only does it have outstanding main characters, but the side characters are also amazing, adding their own flair to the scenes.

I can't wait for the next book. This was outstanding and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY ME.

Alexandra Keillor’s Bad Blood, the first book in the Monsters of London series, hooked me with ease and had me eager to dive into the second book. I adored the couple and the world that was introduced, and it created the perfect amount of curiosity to have me desperate to see what would happen in the second book.

As with Bad Blood, Blood Ties is a book that had me hooked. I continued to enjoy the world and the way it expanded, and I was once again hooked on watching how things would unfold for the characters. I will be entirely honest and say that I did not feel the romance quite as strongly in this one. Yes, I adored the characters. Yes, I enjoyed watching how things developed between them. Yes, I liked them together. However, the continued lack of communication made it difficult for me to feel they belonged together in the way I wanted. As much as I adored the elements surrounding them, the fact they refused to communicate made it difficult for me to accept them together. Especially considering how much was going on. Despite this, I did adore the story and loved the way the storylines linked together and what it promises for the next book.

All in all, this was a great addition to the series. If you enjoyed Bad Blood, you need to give Blood Ties a read. It is sure to leave readers eager for book three - especially with all that is promised for the book.

I have some mixed feelings about this series.

On one hand, I really enjoy the world building and the overarching plot lines. There's a lot going on but I was never confused and couldn't put the books down. Blood Ties is action packed, has great main characters and side characters, and excellent steamy sessions. I really want to know what happens next and there are so many elements that I loved. (All the cooking! The potential for Drew to work in the bakery! Delightful.)

On the other, I really dislike books with unnecessary secret keeping. There was a bit of this in the first book but I could ignore it, but this book was overflowing with it. Furthermore, if the secrets had not been kept the plot line could have stayed almost entirely the same and we could have gotten to know the characters on a deeper level. While I could understand Drew having trouble sharing his experiences due to fear, everyone else knew something was going on and had plenty of time to at least get some basic facts straight. This is a big dislike for me that I have trouble getting past.

So if you enjoy fantasy m/m/m romance with lots of twists and turns and an overarching evil plot, and you can disregard some obnoxious secret keeping, you'll enjoy this.

Wow!!
In the second book, we find Sam realizing he wants more from Adam, but then, Kiernan’s little brother, Drew, arrives and he finds he am attracted to him as well. Adam feels the same attraction and while Sam is prepared to step aside; Adam suggests something more between the three of them. Life is complicated with Drew hiding something, and a variety of enemies after them. Also, Sam has a few secrets of his own. The three men are very protective of each other, but is that enough?

All three of them are quite different. Sam is a mage, very powerful and filled with snark. Adam is a vampire still young and very cheeky. Drew is a werewolf who hates to fight and is a bit of cinnamon roll. He does come with some problems that he does not reveal. Somehow the three make it work and hot it is when they get together. The overarching plot took several steps forward with more than a few surprises revealed. What are they? Telling would be cheating. You need to read this book to find out, but start with book one or you will be lost.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my personal opinion.

WOW! I honestly loved this story, a little better than the first one! This book is filled with so much more and I was so immersed in this book it was hard to put down! This vampire MMM romance had me swooning so hard! I can't even explain it, but I wish I could reread this for the firsst time lol. I will say this was a bit slower burn than I'm used to but I still enjoyed it.

Sam, Adam and Drew. Where do I even start? I loved all these characters. Each one brought something different to the dynamic but also had their own stories. Adam the protective one of the two and always wanting to make sure they are safe. I think he was a little bit my favorite but only because of how much he cared for both men. I loved the others two and felt that each was a piece that was missing.

Overall, I really loved this story. The three characters have such a connection, but this story was also a little bit more slow burn and a good build up of the story. I loved the way they took their time to get to know each other. This is definitely a found family book with supernaturals and fantasy. Loved it!

Blood Ties is book 2 of the “Monsters Of London” series which is also officially the second fantasy book i’ve ever read (the first being book 1) and I thought it was sososo good!! I mentioned in my review for book 1 that I loved The Vampire Diaries which made me love vampires; oddly enough the same day I started watching Teen Wolf for the first time was the same day I received my copy of Blood Ties! This book made me love werewolves even more now too lol. There’s just something about vampires and werewolves that I love so this series has been perfect for me! I have only read a handful of books that were MMM and this was another one that was written so well. I absolutely loved Adam, Sam, and Drew together! I think the world building with all things supernatural has been so interesting and fun to read for me too since it’s not something that I am used to. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I think it was just as good as the first. I am so excited to continue their stories and see how this trilogy ends!!!

After reading book 1 I was curious to know more about Sam, I wanted to know his secrets, but not just his secrets we still need to know who he trying to drive a wedge between the supernatural community.
There was so much going on with this book and I found myself slowing down my reading to make sure I captured all the information.
Whilst we knew about Drew from Kieran, it was good to meet him, to learn about why he ran from his pack and turned up at Kieran's door. Adding to that the attraction he had for Sam and Adam. In book 1 you see the friendship that Adam and Sam had and I was eager to see how their relationship progressed and I was not disappointed. There was plenty of tender moments between the three and enough angst to keep you wondering whether it would work. The balance was perfect.
Whilst we read about their romance we also have the mystery of who is behind the threats to Vampires and Kieran and anyone who sided with them. It has got more intense with in fighting, power struggles and another relationship I am eagerly waiting for book 3

Book two of the Monsters of London series, Blood Ties, is the story of Kiernan's brother Drew, a werewolf, Kiernan's best friend the Mage Sam and Lucien's sired child, Adam. Most of the story takes place after the defeat of Tristan. But it also includes Sam's arrival in London and Sam and Kiernan meeting four years later.
Just like book one, there's lots of action, good worldbuilding and the politics of maintaining the vamp/wolf/Hunter treaty. There's also sizzling times between the new triad. And a touch of angst as Sam, Adam and Drew navigate the difficulties of a three man relationship.
Worldbuilding continues. The mystery is alright, but it's not really strong. But for me it's the relationship that takes center stage. Who needs a deep plot? Especially when there's another great villain.
The characters are strong. Kiernan and Lucien's story continue even though they're secondaries. Vasile will get his book next. Which I am looking forward to.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

You need to read the first book for background before reading this book.

I'll admit I liked this book a lot more than the first book. This alternates (mostly) between Sam, Adam, and Drew's POVs, which helps weave the story together. There are still some world-building issues with the story-telling (not enough details or points that are just glossed over), but I felt like it did a better job than the first book.

Sam and Adam we got to know a bit in the first book, but we get a bit more depth here and more information on Drew. I really liked the three of them together. There are some major communication issues between all of the characters (evidently they all think the way to keep people safe is to never tell them there is a threat), but when they do work together it really works.

I'm looking forward to seeing how much book 3 succeeds in wrapping up some of the plot points.

Dramatic little guys

Alexandra Keillor calls her characters “dramatic little guys” and we should appreciate that they are in her head causing as much trouble as they do because they come out onto the page so marvelously. I am still flabbergasted that this is only her second book because it’s so well written. I think part of that goes back to the number of people that she credits with helping her as she has obviously realized, earlier than a lot of self published authors, that she can’t do it all on her own. It must be very difficult to have ideas in your head and put them down only to have to let others comment and cut, but Keillor plays well with others. I am enjoying the adventure that her characters are having and my only word of warning is to make sure you note who the narrator is of the chapter you are on because at this point there are a number of characters who narrate. May the“dramatic little guys” in your head bug you for a long, long time Ms. Keillor.

This is book two in a series, and the overarching plot gets, if anything, even more complex in this installment (and it was, to be fair, pretty labyrinthine already). While I have mixed feelings about the level of secrets and intrigue and plot twists (not entirely sure more is always better, but I’m willing to be convinced, and this series seems more than willing to make the case) I did love the central characters in this book— and the way Sam, Adam, and Drew’s relationship comes together. There’s plenty of chemistry and connection and the bonds between the characters take shape in really satisfying ways. There’s growth and development on individual levels as the evolving connections between the characters, and it was easy to fall for them, as individuals and as a unit.

OMG!
This series is fantastic.

Alexandra has a tightly written plot that propels you through the streets of London faster than the vampires who have breathtaking speed of their own!

The romance is envelopes you in the steam generated by Adam, Sam and Drew.
Each of their personalities and abilities are completely different than each others, and this only makes their relationship richer.

Vampires, werewolves, magic gifted humans, mages, witches, covens and clans all play a role in this intricately woven romantic/paranormal mystery.

Beware, there will be death ahead. (But for none of the good guys. They're working towards their own HEA.)

Be certain to read the series starting with the first book! You will be richly rewarded by doing so.

Thanks to GRR for this ARC.

4.5☆

I enjoyed this a lot. There were hints of Adam and Sam in book 1, but Drew had to appear to round out the trio. The were so many things going on in this book, so many things got thrown at the whole group. Adam, Drew and Sam had to get through a lot to get to a place where they could deal with their connection. I felt that their romance took a bit of a back seat to the overarching plot, but I felt like that was a necessity too. I love how they came together and how mucg they all care for each other. We also got more of Kieran and Lucien which I didn't mind. I really enjoy their found family. I would have enjoyed to have the "Chase, mate, bond" scene in the book that Drew was talking about, but maybe we'll get that sometime.
I'm excited for the next book, to see Deacon and Vasile's story, and to see what happens with the overarching plot.
