Where being on Santa's naughty list can mean the difference between life or death.
Santa is in town and he has a list of naughty boys and girls. Those who are redeemable get a second chance those who are pure evil get death. Ofelia and Jack stumble across one of his victims but are they really victims.when they have committed heinous crimes (in some cases). Added to the craziness Sully's mother and two of his sister's are in town for Christmas, the first since Oscar went into hospital, his doctor's have decided Oscar is recovering well enough to spend the holidays with his family so both Sully and Ofelia are already feeling stressful. The question is how.do you deal.with a bad guy who is actually doing something good, do the ends justify the means? Also who gets to decide on which people are irredeemable...............
Too much plot equals a hexsmess. I love this series but there were too many plotlines crammed in, too many people who were over developed or under developed (ie Sully's family) and I feel like fans got shorted with the homecoming story after waiting so long. P.S. if I have to read about bored Pascal hiding his magazine in a big book in every book I might bite someone!
I did enjoy reading this, but the conclusion was a bit anticlimactic. I expected more fighting or fireworks or something. But I suppose the build up of trying to figure out what and who Nick was was enough. The story had me reading quickly through because I needed to know what was going to happen right now!
In the beginning I thought maybe Santa was a djinn granting people their wishes, but I didn’t expect him to be… what he is.
It was nice to visit with Oscar and with him acting so rationally. It has been pretty cool following along in this series and seeing Oscar’s mental health improve after everything he went through and everything he put others around him through.
I feel like there’s more to this story as far as Felix and Sully’s sister and of course I’m sure Harper Hart will add at least one more book because there’s a wedding happening soon between Sully and Ofelia. It has been on the horizon forever! Book worlds…
Next is Book 17 “The Agony & the Hex-stasy,” with a publication date of April 1, 2025. You can pre-order it now.
Next I’m going to read Book 25 from Amanda M. Lee’s A Wicked Witches of the Midwest Mysteries: “The Usual Witchspects.” Amanda’s style of writing is the same as Lily Harper Hart’s (it’s because the two are extremely close. 😉)
It’s almost Christmas, and Ivy is excited to share her first Christmas with her fiancé and family. Her father will be with them too, and she is happy about it, but a little nervous it might be too much for him. She wants absolutely nothing to spoil Christmas! She may not get her wish though, because there is a body behind one of the businesses with a candy cane stuck through his heart. As if that’s not strange enough…when the coroner pulls out the candy, the man sits up and talks to them as though he had never died. It’s a Christmas mystery, and Ivy and Jarod are anxious to solve it quickly, hopefully without getting on Santa’s naughty list!
Join Ophelia and Sully and the whole gang as they deal with Santa Claus, but this Santa isn’t the 0ne we all know, this Santa might just be a murderer and that is what Ophelia And Sully have to find out. Along with Santa, Oscar is out of the hospital to spend Christmas with his family, will everything go well or does he need more hospital time ? To find out the answer to that and find out who this Santa really is, I recommend you buy this book and read the answers to this and more for yourself, you know you want to;)
I love this series. This author always comes up with funny scenes and plots that make you laugh. This book has a Santa who has a naughty list. Once stabbed by Santa’s candy canes the people have the choice to change for the better or permanently die. There is more to the plot but I won’t ruin it. The next book I think will be Ophelia and Zach’s wedding. I’m looking forward to reading that. This author is awesome.
I love this series so much! I hold this city of New Orleans close to my heart, So the combination of that and all of the wonderful characters all woven together in these books, makes me feel like they are old friends. I am a huge fan for Oscar and I'm glad to see he's doing so good!! I especially loved in this story how all of the history and demonic beings tied things together. And it was a fun story because it was Christmas time!!
Santa’s in New Orleans, and he’s not quite what you might be expecting. Very bad guys are dying, and others are getting a new lease on life. Fe and Sully are trying to figure out what’s going on. To add more chaos, Sully’s mother and two sisters are in town, and Oscar is home for Christmas (for once he’s not the chaos). It’s enough to drive anyone crazy.
Definitely lots of Christmas shenanigans are in this book. It’s filled with mystery and happiness. We meet Zach’s sisters and what a pair those two are. Of course Ophelia and Zach save the day and Christmas. Oscar is doing so much better and pascal is always on Ophelia’s side. Loved it
I know around the world Santa is called many things and his legend it just that a legend. In this book he is more so much more and we get to see a side of Santa we don't want to know, but if we have good in this world why not evil. I'm not saying Santa in this book is evil but just not the holly jolly elf. Glad Oscar is doing so good. Onto the next adventure!😉💙💚
I love it when there is so much backstory. There’s added depth to the current situation. And this situation includes…both families together quite a bit-yikes, candy canes in an unusual role, the least likely person keeping calm, and…Santa Claus? Plus, so much more! Enjoy!
Ofelia and Sully have a lot on their hands with Oscar finally being released and Sully’s family in town. When dead bodies with fancy canes in their chests show up, is the source a mysterious Santa that has been seen around town? Is Santa saving Christmas or will that be up to Ofelia?
This is one of my favorite series. I love Ofelia and Sully together. But I also love the connection of the extended family - Oscar, Felix, Pascal…. The mystery is a fun twist on Christmas with an ending that I didn’t anticipate. I highly recommend. This book is best read as part of the series.
Excellent read! This might be my favorite one so far. There's a lot of snark but Oscar is back for Christmas and it's going well. I'm not too sure what's going on with Felix and Sully's sister but it makes for some fun reading.
I love Ms. Hart's stories! Out of all the different books I read she is my favorite author. She has a fun sense of humor that she writes interesting mysteries around. You won't be sorry to buy any of her books.
Book 16 finds Christmas coming to the Quarter. There is murder (but not murder), people rising (but not zombies), mystery, family invasion, family angst, a weird Santa, and a possible great Christmas. Highly entertaining.
Ophelia and Sully end up chasing Santa all over the French Quarter all the while dealing with Sully's mother and sisters. On top of that Oscar is home for the holidays! Let the games begin!
I always like getting back to the Characters in this series. Fe and Sully are great. It was pretty interesting having both Families mixed together. I can't wait to wait to get to the next book.
This was one of the best books in the series. The Christmas theme was interesting in the twist presented by Nick. Also, some historical info about some of the secondary characters routinely featured in the series. The family dynamics were staggering. I'm not certain I would have survived.
Another wonderful mystery with Ofelia and Sully. Great characters and humor. Nice to see Ofelia's father out and about. Great series. Looking forward to the next book.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Each installment in the series surpasses the previous one, captivating me with its compelling characters and engaging narrative. The author's storytelling prowess shines through, leaving me eager to delve into the next book in the series.
Good plot. Nick did not gave a strong ending for demon. What happened to Dora? are the flirty people a couple or not. Some Of the lines are confused. Others just develop pretty fast.
Santa, aka Nick, is a demon, killing bad guys and turning those is the gray area into good people. Ofelia needs to figure this all out. Meanwhile, they are celebrating the holiday with both families.
I really loved this story. It has to be the best in the series. It has a terrific Christmas touch and a plot line the will keep you guessing. You will love it.
