ARC review. First book by this author. Very quick read. The description fits well. Age gap, enemies to lovers. I was seriously about to ring some necks over the way the main characters acted. They wanted each other but went back and forth! Ohhh the angst! The surprise baby part threw me, it was part of the epilogue. I would have thought it would have happened sooner in the book. Everything else about the book stood true.

What a terrific read! Starting with the first chapter, one cannot help but crack up laughing as Cole & Bree fight over a caramel pecan honey bun, with neither one wanting to give up on their argument. Her dad insists Cole hire her so that she’ll be trained by the best lawyer & is adamant Cole can’t fire her. So Cole spends most of his time devising different ways in making her life miserable while working for him so she’ll quit & he’ll be rid of her. What they weren’t expecting was to actually look forward in sparring with each other.
The transition from enemies to lovers was seamless. There’s no abrupt shift from hate to love & I felt Ms. Dunn did a great job in achieving this. Plus the love scenes were so descriptive, it’s surprising the pages didn’t catch on fire! Sizzling hot. When their bantering intensifies, Bree actually stands up to him & doesn’t back down. I liked the dynamics between Bree, Cole & her dad.
An excellent story-line which you’ll enjoy starting from page 1 & continues right to the last page. I’d rate this one as a 5+ stars. Definitely worth reading this one!

If you're a fan of steamy, forbidden romances, "Bosshole's Surprise Baby" by Clara Dunn might be your next quick read. This book is packed with tropes: forbidden age gap romance, workplace romance, enemies to lovers, dad's best friend, and a grumpy boss who softens up.
While the title suggests a heavy focus on the surprise pregnancy aspect, the story doesn’t revolve around it as much as you might expect. Instead, it's a classic office enemies-to-lovers tale with a satisfying twist. The dynamic between the older, grumpy boss and the younger, new adult protagonist is compelling, especially as the boss transitions from mean to more endearing.
Though the surprise pregnancy is in the title, it felt more like a subplot. The core of the story is really about navigating the forbidden attraction and complicated relationship dynamics. Overall, it’s a good dad’s best friend, age gap office romance.
Triggers include: forbidden romance, workplace power dynamics, and age gap relationships.
If you enjoy quick, steamy reads with a mix of drama and romance, give this one a try. It’s not perfect, but it’s an engaging read for a lazy afternoon.
BOSSHOLE'S SURPRISE BABY has a lot of steaminess in this age-gap, workplace, surprise pregnancy story. Set in both New York City and California, Cole is supposed to take his partner's daughter under his wing as his assistant at their law firm. Cole lives and works on the east coast and Bree and her dad live on the west coast until she's sent to New York to work with Cole. He wants nothing to do with her but that's not the way the story unfolds.
There are unexpected twists and turns and the story has a good flow. There are arguments, inappropriate office shenanigans, tears, anger and ultimatley love. But through it all there's a lot of work getting done and Bree is learning from the best. The story raced to its ending and there was closure with a happily ever after even though it didn't look like it would happen. An enjoyable read.

This was such a great little romance. The enemies to lovers' relationship between Cole and Bree started off tense, but the sarcasm and the humor from Bree was perfect. Cole stubborn and independent, with a bad attitude is one that you still come to grow to love. He may be set in his ways but when he finally came to terms with his feelings for Bree, he was perfect. He has his flaws, and they show it, but she doesn't let him get away with it which I loved that even more. These two created a tense, dramatic, and humor filled relationship. The spice was a perfect match in this book and made me wanting more from Cole.
A lovely romance, with plenty of emotion, love, steam, angst and a HEA.
Wanting to further her career as a lawyer, Bree moved to New York to with with her dads partner in their firm. But she wasn’t expecting him to be the man who tried to buy the last caramel pecan honey bun off her claiming he always had it. It’s not the best start for them and there’s tension in the office as Cole is determined I make her want to go back to California. Though as things heat up hey can’t stay away from each other, but how will her dad react when he finds out ?

OH goodness the chemistry between them was sexual tension was off the charts. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. Was this love at first sight for these characters as the physical attraction was like a rollercoaster ride of passion and emotion. Will her secret be revealed in a passive manner. Passion and pleasure was mind blowing of steamy sexual energy between them. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones
Sparks fly when she takes the last pecan honey bun. Little does she know the man she meets that morning as a result is her new boss. He is still fuming about said pastry when in walks the very woman who put him in the foul mood. Things get worse from there when he realizes she is his business partners daughter sent to work there as his mentee. He is adamant he doesn’t want her there. This was such a great story filled with tension, angst and passion. I really enjoyed it.

He is Bree's father's best friend and her overbearing boss. He saves her from her ex and Bree gets to see another side to Cole and it starts them on their journey. This age gap office romance kept me glued to the pages with the banter between these two and when two pink lines come into the picture will it break apart a friendship between Cole and Bree's father.

Decent story, ending was good...But the jump from enemies, to lovers, to so in love they would sacrifice anything was a bit drastic. One minute there is attraction they give into, but still don't like each other, and then there is a complete 180. I liked the characters and the storyline. The switch being so fast just takes away from everything. So decent read, just not for me.

Working for her dad's BFF and he really doesn't want her there, the banter is so strongly worded, tension is high and something has to give. When he picks her up from the club and tells her he wanted to I swooned, for someone who likes being alone he fell hard and fast and it was fun to read.
Great characters, fun story and a beautiful HEA!.

I have been on a surprise baby/accidental pregnancy kick for a while now, I was excited to read this one. I was completely let down, while I absolutely loved Cole and Bree, I don't think labeling a book "surprise baby" when the baby doesn't occur till the epilogue is right. I was ready to give this book 5 stars, but once I realized I was already at the epilogue and no surprise baby yet, I was disappointed.
I found myself smiling at times as well as laughing out loud at how Cole was such a baby over a caramel pecan honey bun. There is a reason for it, but I won't say what it is. This book starts off with some really great bantering between Cole and Bree and ends up turning into some HOT STUFF. Clara has a way of writing a romance book that hooks you from the start and this book has done just that to me.
This is the fifth book in this impressive series, and this is Cole and Bree’s story. Cole is not only Bree’s dad’s best friend, but he is also her boss. This is a well written easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, sparring, an age gap, humour, witty banter, enemies / lovers, twists & turns, shenanigans, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining page turner. I found this book to be a page turner for myself. There were times in the book that I found to be suspenseful but was romantic and spicy which I loved. The characters were very well written, they were complex and romantic. I really liked how Bree never backed down from Cole and him being an asshole. I liked how Cole has a soft side to him. I would highly recommend this book to others!!
The author has given us a wonderful older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Cole, Bree and his business partner/her father, Alan. The enemies-to-lovers story keeps us turning the pages with connection, forbidden desire, obstacles, secrets and steam.

This was Cole and Bree’s story. Cole Bentley is infuriating. He puts the “bossy” in boss, selfish to a fault and won’t take help from anyone. What starts as a little office sparring gets serious when he saves her from her ex. He’s twice her age. Forbidden in every way. He’s also her dad’s best friend. It was an entertaining read. And voluntarily leaving this review.
This is a quick, easy, and enjoyable read. The story of Cole Bentley and Bree Campbell. I was captivated from the very beginning and couldn't put it down. Highly recommend reading. Look forward to reading more from Clara Dunn.

Really enjoyed this fast paced story that kept me fully engaged from start to finish. The bantering was energetic, funny and at times Cole was so frustrating. Great ending and a must read.

I really liked the story and the characters. Quick easy read. Age gap workplace spicy romance. The title surprise baby is a little misleading since she doesn't get pregnant until the epilogue.

Very easy read that sucked me in from the start. Great banter. There was one section with the characters (who were attorneys) talking about a client who was gay that might offend some and that didn't seem entirely necessary. Also, the title is misleading.
It was a good read. Enjoyed the banter. MMC is definitely a but hole... lol and FMC was strong and didn't get steam rolled. Also the baby wasn't even known until Epi... so yea I thought it'd be in the story.
Such a cute book. I love that she took no crap and held her ground. Would have expected the surprised baby earlier in the story, but still a great read.
Great read, love the dialogue and characters. My only complaint was for having Baby in the name, the baby didn't come into it until way after I was expecting
