Ahana is missing and it is her father who is suspected of her disappearance. Ahana wakes up to find herself captive in a room , someone is watching her all the time . How did she end up here ? will she be able to get out of here or will she succumb to the circumstances ?

Only one word for this book" amazing" it keeps you hooked and is definitely a page turner. There are secrets which everyone is hiding. Positives are short chapters, multiple POVs along with psychological angels.

This tale explores the relationship between father and a daughter in a beautiful way . One minute you'll hate a character and the other minutes you'll feel sympathetic towards them.

However this certainly gives a Bollywood movie vibes, not a unique take but it progresses perfectly making it a gripping tale. The ending reveals a lot of secrets from which we could have guessed some and some are unpredictable

Read this book for a roller coaster journey , it's worth it especially for those who like thrillers 🔥.

Sandeep Sharma's Caught in a Web is a gripping psychological thriller that delves into the dark corners of the human psyche and the nefarious depths of the dark web. The story revolves around Ahana, a young woman with Multiple Personality Disorder, who finds herself ensnared in a terrifying game broadcasted on the dark web. The narrative skillfully intertwines her troubled past with the harrowing present, creating a suspenseful tale that keeps the reader on edge.

Ahana's father, Randhir, is depicted as a desperate man willing to go to any lengths to find his missing daughter. The dynamics between him and his second wife, Parveen, add complexity to the plot. Parveen, a nurse caring for Digvijay's son Ajay, is portrayed as a morally ambiguous character, whose actions are driven by self-interest rather than empathy or familial bonds. Digvijay, a powerful and menacing figure, adds a sinister presence to the story, representing the wealthy and influential who exploit the powerless.

Imagine being trapped in a room, every move watched by strangers on the Dark Web, where survival is a brutal game. Sandeep Sharma’s "Caught in a Web" thrusts readers into this nightmarish scenario with a psychological thriller that grips you from the very first page. Sharma, known for his fast-paced storytelling, doesn’t disappoint with this dark and twisted tale.

The story kicks off with Ahana’s sudden disappearance, sparking suspicion that her father, Randhir, might be involved. Determined to find his daughter, Randhir dives into a desperate search. Meanwhile, Ahana is held captive, forced into a sinister reality show streamed live on the Dark Web. As more characters get entangled in the quest to find her, each brings their own dark secrets and motives to the table. Sharma weaves a web of intrigue and horror that keeps you hooked until the last page.

Sharma’s writing is sharp and vivid, perfect for a psychological thriller. His prose is straightforward yet rich with detail, painting a grim picture of Ahana’s captivity. The narrative shifts between past and present, which can be a bit confusing at times, but it adds depth to the story. Sharma excels at delving into the psychological aspects of his characters, giving readers a front-row seat to their darkest thoughts and fears.

The characters in "Caught in a Web" are complex and well-developed. Ahana’s struggle with Multiple Personality Disorder adds a unique layer to her character, making her both vulnerable and resilient. Randhir’s relentless quest to find his daughter drives the story, while other characters, each with their own secrets, add to the narrative’s complexity. Sharma explores themes of trust, betrayal, and survival, presenting a grim reflection of human nature.

The plot is fast-paced, filled with unexpected twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. Sharma balances intense action scenes with deep psychological exploration, creating a gripping narrative. The structure of the book, with short chapters and alternating perspectives, enhances the sense of urgency and suspense. Although the shifting timeline can be disorienting, it ultimately adds to the story’s depth and engagement.

"Caught in a Web" delves into themes of captivity and survival, questioning the boundaries of human morality. It highlights the dangers of the Dark Web and the horrifying realities it can hide. Through Ahana’s ordeal, Sharma comments on the resilience of the human spirit and the lengths people will go to protect their loved ones.

This book is an emotional rollercoaster. Sharma’s vivid descriptions and Ahana’s harrowing situation evoke a sense of dread and empathy. The suspense is tangible, making it impossible not to root for Ahana’s survival. The psychological depth of the characters adds an emotional layer, making you feel their fears, hopes, and desperation.

The book’s strengths lie in its gripping narrative and well-developed characters. Sharma’s ability to create suspense and evoke emotions keeps you engaged from start to finish. The short chapters and fast-paced plot make it a quick, compelling read. The vivid descriptions and psychological insights add depth and realism to the story.

One potential drawback is the alternating timeline, which can be a bit confusing. Additionally, with so many characters, it can be challenging to keep track of everyone. However, these minor issues don’t significantly detract from the overall impact of the book.

As a fan of psychological thrillers, "Caught in a Web" really hit the mark for me. The mix of intense action, psychological depth, and emotional resonance made it a compelling read. Sharma’s ability to create a dark, twisted reality that feels all too plausible is both terrifying and fascinating. The themes and characters stayed with me long after I finished reading, which speaks volumes about Sharma’s storytelling prowess.

All in all, "Caught in a Web" is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers. Sharma’s masterful storytelling, complex characters, and gripping plot make this book hard to put down. While the alternating timeline and large cast can be a bit challenging, they don’t take away from the book’s overall impact. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a fast-paced, emotionally engaging thriller. Here’s hoping Sandeep Sharma continues to deliver such unforgettable stories in the future.

I recently finished reading Caught in a Web by Sandeep Sharma, and I found it to be a dark and pulsating psychological thriller that explores the sinister realms of the dark web and the depths of human resilience. In my experience, the novel weaves together multiple narrative strands, creating a tapestry of suspense, psychological trauma, and a sharp critique of modern digital voyeurism.

Plot and Structure
At its core, the story centers on Ahana—a young woman with Multiple Personality Disorder—who becomes the unwilling star of a brutal reality show streamed on the dark web. I was struck by how she is stripped of her freedom and forced to participate in life-threatening challenges designed purely for twisted entertainment. Meanwhile, her father, Randhir, is initially painted with suspicion, yet his desperate quest to locate his missing daughter provides the emotional backbone of the narrative. As I read, I appreciated the alternating perspectives and timelines, which offered insight not only into Ahana’s harrowing ordeal but also into the darker undercurrents of society and technology. Although the shifting narrative structure occasionally challenged me with its abrupt transitions, it ultimately enriched my understanding of the story’s complexity.

Characterization
One of the aspects that resonated with me most was Sharma’s skill in character development.

Ahana: I found her to be a deeply compelling character. Her struggle with Multiple Personality Disorder adds layers of vulnerability, and witnessing her journey from a frightened captive to a resourceful survivor was both heart-wrenching and inspiring.

Randhir: As a grieving father, his relentless determination to find his daughter struck a personal chord with me. His internal battle—torn between hope and despair—reflects a broader theme of human endurance in the face of overwhelming challenges.

Supporting Cast: Characters like Parveen and the menacing figure of Digvijay added further depth to the narrative. Their moral ambiguity and complex motivations allowed me to see the multifaceted nature of evil and complicity in today’s digital age.

Themes and Social Commentary
I appreciated how the novel transcended typical thriller tropes by delving into contemporary societal issues:

The Dark Web and Surveillance: Sharma uses the dark web not merely as a setting but as a powerful metaphor for the hidden underbelly of modern technology—a place where anonymity breeds cruelty and voyeurism.

Power and Helplessness: The exploration of power dynamics in an age where the privileged manipulate systems that marginalize the powerless was both timely and thought-provoking. I couldn’t help but reflect on Randhir’s impotence in confronting these forces.

Psychological Trauma: Through Ahana’s experiences and internal struggles, I was deeply moved by the vivid portrayal of the devastating impact of captivity and isolation on the human psyche.

Writing Style and Pacing
Sharma’s prose is both sharp and precise, and as I read, I could vividly picture the terror and desperation without feeling overwhelmed by gratuitous detail. The pacing was relentless—with short chapters and cliffhangers that made it nearly impossible for me to put the book down. However, I did notice that this brisk pace sometimes left certain elements, such as Ahana’s backstory or the finer details of her escape, feeling a bit underdeveloped.

Final Thoughts
Overall, my experience with Caught in a Web was both chilling and captivating. The novel challenges its readers with its exploration of dark modern realities while delivering an emotionally charged narrative that is as thought-provoking as it is thrilling. The interplay between technology and human vulnerability left me reflecting on how far we’ve strayed in our digital age. For anyone who enjoys dark, gritty thrillers or is intrigued by the interplay of power, technology, and human nature, I highly recommend this book.

Reading Caught in a Web was a gripping experience that I believe will linger with me for a long time, prompting me to think deeply about the shadowy intersections of our digital and real lives.

"CAUGHT IN A WEB" by Sandeep Sharma ✨

Book Review💌:- (5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)
Have you ever imagine, how a person feels when she gets get kidnapped & gets stucked in a dark room for so many months, where she becomes the entertainer for so many people in a live reality show called 'Dark web?' Ofc you know about dark web right? 🕸️

So, the story begins with Ahana's sudden disappearance (the main protagonist), who's a 20 year old girl, suffering from multiple personality disorder is trapped & kept under 24×7 surveillance for a live reality show. Randhir, her father, is doing all he can to bring his daughter back, here you'd find about the beautiful father- daughter love relation, like how a father can do whatever he wants to do to save his daughter. But however, he's being blamed for hiding his own daughter so she would not be taken away from him for treatment. Strange right? 🤏🏻

You would also find so many similarities from the movie Aparichit, if you've watched it. With each passing moment you'd think you've guessed the plot but No, you'd be trapped. The book becomes the game of survival, brutally for the girl. I totally/emotionally connected with Ahana. Jasmine was her only friend who sticked with her till the end, but actually we all have one Jasmine inside us! Why I'm telling this? Read the book to find out and solve the mystery behind Ahana's disappearance.

Ahana's struggle with Multiple Personality Disorder adds a unique layer to her character, making her both vulnerable and resilient. Each character had their own dark secrets, motives & importance, which the author has skillfully portrayed. The narrative shifts between past and present, adding depth to the story, but can be confusing at times. The author's ability to create suspense and evoke emotions keeps you engaged from start to finish.
The book is really short (150 pages only) with such unexpected plot twists. It was such a rollercoaster read. I would love to see the movie adaptation of this book on Netflix, if it becomes one, in the future! 😁

The author has done a good job in maintaining the storyline. He has also shown the harsh realities of today's time's "deep fake" (AI), how it can change the whole agenda of someone else, and how it can fool people.

There is multiple POVs and the characters are extremely well developed. It was really disheartening to see Ahana suffer so much and everyone who loved her trying to do something about it but failing each time. It also made me extremely sad as to how there are people who love to see other people suffer in the name of "fun"!

The book is a fast paced psychological thriller that will keep you engrossed in it from beginning to end, the kind that once picked up, you don't put it down until it's finished!

Overall, the book explores the dangers of the Dark Web and the horrifying realities it can hide. The book also touches on themes of trust, betrayal, & survival, presenting a grim reflection of human nature. And also the short chapters and fast-paced plot make for a quick, compelling read.

I highly recommend this book to one's who enjoy psychological thrillers with complex characters, gripping plots, and thought-provoking themes, "This book" is an excellent choice for you. 📌

Thank you & Happy Reading! 😀📖

The book Caught in a Web is actually a pretty fast psychological thriller. The book is fast paced and the way the writer has written it, it can be finished in a single sitting only and as you can see with each passing moment, with each turning of pages we come across new twist and new turns which makes the book pretty much UN PUT DOWNABLE.

And as we move ahead in the journey of the story we come across Ahana who is the protagonist and the story revolves around her. The author has made her a very strong character with shades of grey, white and black as well. As we go forward, we also come across another handful of characters like Aahana's father, stepmother, her neighbour and Aahana's admirers. And even though she is not present in the book, Aahana's biological mother is Omni present in the entire in the entire story line.

This few characters are so well built up that we see that with each chapter, each character reveal some new shades like peels of onion and gradually with each peeling of layers of the characters, The RAW characters comes to light which makes us realize the bitter truths of a society as well as the hollow empty cuckoons in which each and every soul resides.

We also see as the story moves on, the author has built a supervillain. I was extremely pleased to see the author create such a wonderful villain in the book. Normally we have a very strong protagonist but here the author has successfully built super villain. I thoroughly loved his plans, his schemes, his way of work and the way he reveals his dark self as though there is no white, no Grace in this person. This person is pure evil and to create such a character, I really applaud the author creativity. Such a character who had so much desire to success that he left no stones unturned and can stoop to any level of heinous crimes to commit just to make himself successful. I would love to see the super villain back in other books as well.

Anyway, coming back to the story, the story is gripping, fast, tensed and I must say very captive. It is written in a simple lucid language and can be understood with the genZ lingo very well. The involvement of the dark web and some other characteristics of the present internet driven world has made the book more relatable. The author ended the book in a classic thriller ending way, but it leaves the readers craving for more. Even after the book finishes, its seems as if the book should have lingered on the story and could have gone a bit longer so that the readers could have spent a bit more time with the characters . Each of the characters are full of flaws and imperfections and their human nature of rage, of helplessness, of pity, of duty has made them extremely relatable .

This book is like an oasis in the current trend of romcoms and humor mixed love stories of Indian authors that filling the market. I hope the author returns back with the villain again in some other story, in some other environment, but with the same kind of adrenaline dripping, heart pumping, fast paced psychological thriller. Overall, this book is a very enjoyable read and I recommend you to read this book in one seating, if you have at least 2 hours to spare. I guarantee you, you will enjoy the book and love the way the book ends.

This Book has one of the peculiar story ideas that I have got curious about.
The first chapter set my curiosity up rightly for the coming events. The story started off really well with Ahana's pov. She is taken as a captive for a reality show on a dark web. A reality show that too on a dark web. You got the idea of the intensity of the situation. The task for Ahana there is to survive. Stay alive even if you have to kill anyone else.
Yes, scary. I was damn scared for her.

But but but…there's another interesting character Jasmeen, she too Is captive with Ahana. She keeps Ahana sane in that one dark room. If she wouldn't be there then Ahana wouldn't have survived in that room.

But the question is who is she? And why is she so fond and protective of Ahana?

She had got a father and a stepmother back at home. No one knows how she got there. Not even her parents, she just seems to disappear and they are trying hard to get her back. For the punch the police, media, neighbours, everyone suspects her father for her disappearance.

Her step mother is a lady from the college days of her father. They had feelings for each other back then. So that makes them the suspect but again it ain't that straight as It appears to be.

There are quite a bunch of characters you can suspect easily and certainly. Not everyone is behind putting Ahana into the reality show on dark web. But everyone somehow is connected.

The question isn’t just whether she’ll make it out alive, but whether she’ll make it out sane.

So if this seems like Your type of story you should Definitely give It a try!!

I am gonna give it 2 stars. And all for its story idea.

It most definitely has a great story idea. But the way it has unfolded, the whole story line doesn't seem to go well with me.

There were too many POVs
Each chapter would start with someone else POV so that's a real backdrop of this Book.
It made me jump from one character's mind to the other so it was impossible to build a connection with anyone and go along with it through the whole story.

The main thing in any mystery or thriller is to make readers suspect every character for what has gone wrong or what's going wrong. But this book didn't do it right.

Yes it made me suspect the characters but not till the very end. In one chapter you would suspect the other character and next every suspicion on that would go away. So there wasn't that tension, that anxiety to know if that character is the real culprit.

From a few chapters it was very clear and very predictable who might have been responsible for Ahana being on the dark web. And also a few characters just came out of nowhere in the last few chapters and did something big that has really affected the ending.

I think it could have been soo better if it had followed only one POV and goes along finding Ahana with everything happening around that character and getting the hints or just leaving subtle clues over every scene that makes sense in the end to the character (the one whose POV is used) rather than having many povs that surely messed up the suspense that was building up.

And that's all I have gotta say about this book!

Bye until next time!

Caught in a Web" by Sandeep Sharma is a thrilling psychological story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It’s full of surprises and twists that you won’t see coming. The book is short but powerful, making it hard to put down. From the very first page, it grabs your attention and doesn’t let go until the end. Before reading this book, I knew a little about the dark web but didn’t fully understand how dangerous it could be. I decided to look it up on Google and combined what I found with what the book taught me. The story isn’t just entertaining—it also shows the scary side of the dark web and how it can be used in terrible ways. The dangers described in the book made me realize how real and serious these threats are in the real world. The story is well-written, moving between moments of hope and fear. The suspense grows slowly, like a puzzle that starts to make sense piece by piece. The plot is cleverly put together, keeping you guessing until the very end.The story is about Randhir, a father who suffers deeply after his daughter Ahana goes missing. His pain is clear as he faces the heartbreaking task of checking unknown bodies at the morgue, holding onto hope that his daughter is still alive. At the same time, Ahana is caught in a terrifying situation—a dangerous online show where the only goal is to survive, and her every action is watched.
Sandeep Sharma skillfully explores themes of mind games, human strength, and the fine line between good and evil. The book dives into the basic instincts of survival and looks at the tough moral choices the characters face. Ahana’s battle against her situation is both heartbreaking and motivating, and her fight to stay sane in the chaos is shown with powerful emotion.

The author’s writing style builds tension, pulling readers into a dark and heavy atmosphere. The story shows Ahana’s loneliness and Randhir’s desperate search for his daughter, adding deep emotional layers. The book makes you think about the darker side of human behavior, the risks of technology, and how far someone will go for justice and survival.

The unexpected turns and surprises keep the story exciting, making it hard to guess what will happen next.

Every character is important in shaping the plot, and the ending leaves a strong impact. *Caught in a Web* is a gripping psychological drama that makes you question the difference between guilt and innocence.

If you love psychological thrillers, this book is a must-read. It doesn’t just tell a story—it pulls you into a world where right and wrong are tested, and survival is all that matters. Sandeep Sharma creates a powerful story that will stay with you long after you finish reading.

It’s been long since I have done reviews. Caught in the Web by Sandeep Sharma looked promising, and it delivered in a way, and not.
The thing I liked about the book was multiple Point Of Views. The story was interesting enough, and had me curious to know what’s going to happen next. But I guess that’s all the praises I got for it.
Though multiple povs, none made it feel like I am into the story, as a part of it. The narration was less like a book, and more of storytelling, where I am the audience in a crowd, listening to what’s happening from far away. The writing style always kept me at bay. And the pov didn’t sound like pov. The tone and the words those character used were more or less the same, and I couldn’t feel much distinction in the voices.
The next thing that I didn’t really like, the book has just too much story. The Multiple Personality Disorder, the Dark Web, suicide/murder history of the mother, the infamous psychiatrist, 2nd marriage, corrupt father/uncle, politician admirer, and his paralysed son etc etc. These had so much from the surface but nothing to take me deep within the story. A classic case of telling and not showing, if I may, and hence in extension, a poor editorial job. The only good thing here was that you couldn’t know till the end if the step mother is good or evil. In fact that was one of the major question that had me going till the end.
The other thing, the dark web. Never really been into it, but of course I have heard horrors of the same. Not really sure if the portrayal of Ahana’s MPD and slight insanity is enough to get the entire web excited. It might be just too mild and PG-13 for those who actually enjoy the sort of content that goes in there. So I expected something darker than that. Don’t get me wrong, I am all in for not finding reality/logic in stories and fiction, but for that you make fairy tales and fantasies. If you gonna add the parts of reality and play with human psychology genre, then I need a good (potentially realistic) game.
All in all, wouldn’t recommend this to avid readers who have had their share of thrillers and psychological thriller. But the beginners, do give it a read. Because the story is good, and contains a lot of what many thriller books are based on.

Caught in a Web plunges readers into the shadowy depths of the dark web, weaving a tale that is both chilling and exhilarating. The story follows Ahana, who unwittingly becomes the star of a sinister reality show broadcasted on the dark web. Stripped of her normal life and thrust into a world where survival is the only option, she must navigate a labyrinth of twisted challenges, each more horrifying than the last. As the stakes grow higher, her resolve is tested to the limit, leading to a heart-pounding climax that leaves readers breathless. The author masterfully blends suspense with psychological depth, creating a narrative that is as intellectually engaging as it is viscerally thrilling. The prose is sharp and precise, evoking a palpable sense of dread that lingers long after the final page. The pacing is relentless, with each chapter ending on a cliffhanger that compels the reader to keep turning the pages.
Ahana, is a compelling heroine, portrayed with a complexity that adds depth to the high-stakes drama. Her transformation from an unsuspecting victim to a resourceful survivor is both believable and inspiring. The supporting characters, though sometimes veering into archetypal territory, provide a rich backdrop against which the protagonist's struggle is vividly highlighted. The novel delves into themes of surveillance, privacy, and the terrifying possibilities of technology. It raises thought-provoking questions about the nature of reality and the extent to which our lives are controlled by unseen forces. The psychological aspects of the story are particularly well-executed, offering insights into the human psyche under extreme stress.

Caught in a Web is a gripping psychological thriller that masterfully explores the dark intersections of technology and human nature. Its well-crafted narrative and intense suspense make it a standout in its genre. Despite a few predictable elements, the novel's strengths far outweigh its weaknesses, delivering a read that is both thought-provoking and heart-racing. This is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers and anyone intrigued by the dark underbelly of the digital age.

"Caught in a Web" by Sandeep Sharma is a gripping psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. This book is a masterclass in suspense, with a storyline that's both terrifying and mesmerizing.

Meet Ahana, a young girl who's been kidnapped and trapped in a room with no memory of her past. She's a pawn in a twisted game, where survival is the only goal. And then there's Randhir, her father, who's desperate to find her and willing to do whatever it takes to get her back.

As I read through the pages, I felt like I was trapped alongside Ahana, feeling her fear, her desperation, and her determination to survive. Sandeep's writing is vivid and immersive, making it impossible to look away from the horrors that Ahana faces.

But what makes "Caught in a Web" truly chilling is the way it exposes the dark underbelly of the internet. The Dark Web, where Ahana is being held captive, is a world that's both fascinating and terrifying. Sandeep's portrayal of this world is all too real, making you wonder what other horrors are lurking in the shadows.

*A Game of Survival*

This book is a game of cat and mouse, where the stakes are constantly raised and the tension is palpable. Ahana's survival is a testament to her strength and resilience, and Randhir's determination to find her is a reminder of the power of love and hope.

As I turned the pages, I found myself asking questions: What would I do in Ahana's shoes? Would I be able to survive? And what about Randhir - would I be able to forgive him for his past mistakes?

*A Must-Read for Thriller Fans!*

"Caught in a Web" is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers. Sandeep Sharma's writing is masterful, weaving a tale that's both haunting and captivating. This book will keep you up all night, wondering what's next for Ahana and Randhir.

So, if you're ready for a heart-pounding thriller that will leave you breathless, dive into "Caught in a Web". But be warned: once you start, there's no turning back!

Disclaimer:There is a summary which is chat gpt based and my personal review.
Hope this doesn't offend anyone.

•Summary: (This summary is Chat gtp based)
"Caught in a Web" by Sandeep Sharma is a thrilling novel that delves into a world of deception and suspense.
The story follows a web of interconnected characters entangled in a complex mystery that will keep you guessing until the very end. With well-developed characters and unexpected twists, Author keeps readers engaged throughout the narrative, making it a compelling read for fans of the thriller genre.

•Personal Review:(This is my personal review about the book)
"Caught in a Web" is a rollercoaster of a read, with twists and turns that kept me eagerly turning the pages. Sandeep Sharma's writing style is simple and understanding yet also captivating, creating a sense of urgency and intrigue that hooks you from the beginning.

The intricate plot and well-crafted characters make this novel a standout in the thriller genre, leaving me thoroughly impressed and satisfied with the suspenseful journey it took me on.

But I felt the ending could be a bit more mysterious.
And Personally I think jasmeen's character was not explained deeply (her side story).
So I would like it if she , as an important character, could get her personal side story.
Though she was created by Ahana but the way she was so involved in the plot yet not deeply explained was a bit disappointing.

I loved it's concept and also it's plot which was based on dark web and deep fake technology which is not known to most ppl .
Also how there is a whole side of internet many ppl are unaware of. The sadistic side of ppl is introduced here.

As my first Thriller by an India author, I had fun reading it and I'm happy for this to be my 1st paperback review.

P.S: I had wanted to read this book in one go though I couldn't because of some issues.

•Recommendations:Read the book in one go✨

"Caught in a Web" by Sandeep Sharma is a gripping thriller that dives into the evil universe of cybercrime in current India. The story starts with the homicide of a conspicuous financial specialist, setting off a progression of confounding wrongdoings. Monitor Arjun Reddy, a committed and experienced official, drives the examination. Arjun's steady quest for equity and solid moral code drive the plot, making him a convincing hero.
Caught in the Web is a speedy spine chiller that compels you to continue to turn the pages. It has the staple of the thrill ride kind: Different Behavioural condition and fortunately, that is not a definitive uncover. A motor drives the story forward, as a matter of fact. Aside from this, there's paedophilia, complex connections, and the dim web! An excessive amount to deal with? Not actually, as the portrayal keeps it smooth and needing for more.
The story starts off with Ahana's abrupt vanishing, igniting doubt that her dad, Randhir, may be involved. Still up in the air to find his girl, Randhir plunges into a frantic hunt. In the interim, Ahana is held hostage, constrained into an evil unscripted TV drama streamed live on the Dim Web. As additional characters get ensnared in the journey to track down her, each offers their own dull mysteries and thought processes that would be useful. Sharma winds around a snare of interest and ghastliness that keeps you snared until the last page.
Overall, "Caught in a Web” is a must-peruse for fanatics of suspenseful thrill rides. Sharma's marvellous narrating, complex characters, and holding plot make this book really interesting. While the exchanging timetable and huge cast can be a piece testing, they don't detract from the book's general effect. I strongly prescribe this book to anybody searching for a quick moving, genuinely captivating spine chiller. Hopefully Sandeep Sharma keeps on conveying such extraordinary stories later on.

"What if you choose to save two lives in exchange for one?"

"Caught in a Web" was an exciting book that served as my introduction to Indian thriller authors. Its captivating appeal was highlighted by the fact that, although I had wanted to read it all in one sitting, circumstances prevented that.

The tale grabs readers with its engaging idea right away, exploring psychological diseases in great detail and using unreliable narrators whose points of view make it difficult to distinguish between fact and illusion.

🌸 About the story:

The story explores the darkest sides of human nature, forcing readers to face difficult realities head-on with unwavering candour.

The reader is drawn into Ahana's terrifying experience by this intensely emotional story, which combines compassion and horror for a young girl struggling for her life.

🌸 Things which I liked the most:

In this story, Ahana's path is incredibly compelling since her vulnerabilities are exposed, showcasing her incredible strength.

The reader is kept captivated from beginning to end by the fast-paced narrative and surprising turns.

🌸 A few things could have been improved to make the story even much better:

Though the book did a great job keeping things suspenseful, I thought the finale might have been even more mysterious.

Furthermore, it was a little disappointing that Jasmeen's character—despite being crucial to the story—did not receive a more in-depth examination of her personal history.

🌸 Message conveyed through the story:

In spite of this, Sharma's idea and story, which focused on deep-fake technology and the dark web—topics that are frequently unknown to most people—were captivating.

The darker facets of human nature are shown by the story, which also illuminates the seedy underbelly of the internet.

**Suggestion:** Take in all of this compelling thriller in one sitting for maximum effect.

Caught in a Web: The Dark Web.A Twisted Reality Show. Her Fight for Survival penned by Sandeep Sharma is a psychological thriller which drops the readers into a horrific situation. Ahana is the protagonist in the story with whose sudden disappearance, the narrative begins; her father, Randhir, is a man who will not stop at anything to get her back. The tension rises as it is revealed that Ahana has been taken as a hostage and is live-streamed on the dark web.The extract from the Jasmine is unbelievably Shot where she takes control over Ahana.

Sandeep Sharma creates a kind of gloom and fear to fill up the story where Ahana hardly knows how it is to be free while being surrounded by numerous psychological and physical barriers. I like how the novel focuses on probing into the main character’s mental landscape and shares her dark past that makes her interesting and the story more suspenseful.

This aspect is done so engagingly by the author – vivid and gory – that the reader is presented with plenty of thoughts. The event about constant surveillance contributes to heightening the reader’s tension making the novel immensely interesting.

The psychological thriller of the story ‘Caught in a Web’ builds up the suspense and makes the readers sit on the edge of their seat to turn the pages with bated breath waiting for Ahana to outwit the antagonist and survive in the exceedingly questionable world she is in. The characters like, Randhir , Digvijay, Parveen , Parag , Mahesh & Ajay has been well developed. The writing style and natural narrative skills of Sharma make the readers unable to put this book down and can be best described as unforgettable. It took me 3 sittings to finish this book, you can peg now how engrossing this book can be.

Caught in a Web by Sandeep Sharma is a psychological thriller. The story revolves around our main protagonist, Ahana. Her fight for survival in a dark, unknown place and her fight to take control back of her life? Will she succeed in this endeavor, or is something mysterious looming under those dark shadows that will change her life?

The story starts with a little introduction of every character and their connection/relationship with Ahana and their current situation, as well as a glimpse of how life fared to them while continuing their search to find her.

The story started nicely, was well paced, and planted a root for a thrilling story line. It had some twists and turns. But that's all that I find intriguing about it. The plot had so many loose ends and left me with so many questions rather than answers. Some things just felt were there for the sake of it and provided no further context for the story line.

It's written in first-person POV. The character Mahesh, when talking about Ahana in the first few POVs, gave off creepy vibes. The romanticism of domestic/physical abuse. It was written in a way that was trying to justify it because he was going through something tragic, but it is never OK. The lack of backstory about Ahana's mother and her condition postpartum.

I liked the character Tanmay, and he was the saving grace of this story. His character was written nicely and provided vital support and zing in the story line. The story didn't feel thrilling or exciting enough. Lots of characters were just there without much backstory. They fit with the plot; the overall story felt lacking without context. The prompt had potential but the storyline just didn't work for me.

423 days and still counting......
Randhir has no clue whether her daughter Ahana is alive or dead. Ahana had run away from home. Thereafter while partying with her friend the police showed up. They accused Ahana of taking drugs and took her away. However after this Ahana just disappeared. Her disappearance has left the entire nation puzzled. Even the police couldn't find her. Moreover they suspected Randhir for her daughter's disappearance.

Somewhere Ahana is held captive in a room without windows- dark and dismal and a feeling of being watched. Her only friend in the room is Jasmeen. But she only comes when the lights are out.

Read the book to find out the mystery behind Ahana's disappearance.

This was a mind boggling read. A very well plotted psychological thriller with a satisfying ending. I say this because most of the psychological thrillers that i have read in past end very abruptly without any proper conclusion. I was glued to the book right from starting till the last page. The tension build up and suspense is well maintained. The narration is from multiple POV. Each character is narrating its own story. Its fast paced and i completed it in 2 days. The story highlights game of power and exploitation, Illicit activities happening on dark web, Unethical practices happening in hospitals. It compels you to think that how can someone inflict unimaginable pain on another human being just for their selfish needs.
I enjoyed reading this as i felt it has all the elements a good psychological thriller must have. In just 150 pages the author has summed up the story well.
If you love psychological thrillers dont miss out this one. Coming from an Indian author i must say its well written.

Caught in a Web

Author: Sandeep Sharma

My Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My Review:

Thrillers are always my favourite picks and I didn’t hesitate to pick this up once I read the intriguing blurb of this book. After reading, I can say that I really enjoyed reading this book.

As the blurb speaks better I’m not going to add further spoilers, so I’ll share my views on this book. With an intriguing plot, characters, simple language and mind blowing twists and turns this book is something that can satisfy the hungry thriller readers thirst of excitement and adrenaline rush. I’ve completed this book in a single sitting not because it's short but because it is so interesting that I couldn’t put it down until I finished.

I love the author’s writing style, how he designed secrets of all the characters and entangled them together with spellbinding suspense scenes that made this book unputdownable. Author has shown us how cruel this dark web and its users can be which is spine chilling as well as shocking. AI which is something that should be useful for us in reducing our workload and stress is giving the opposite vibes and also throwing human life in danger. I really appreciate the author for showing it in this form through the character of Ahana.

Even being written in multiple POVs it never felt confusing to read, but the repetition of some scenes has disappointed me but still it's negligible enough for me to dive into this dark psychological thriller. If you are interested in the dark secrets of dark web, AI and people with multiple personality disorder, this book is best to dive in.

I highly recommend all my bookish friends to give this book a try for sure, I’m sure you will enjoy the suspense this book creates. Happy Reading!!!

“Love can make you evil. Love is the poison of sanity. It drags you to hell.”

The title of Sandeep Sharma’s book, ‘Caught in a Web’, perfectly captures its essence. When Ahana disappears, the world she leaves behind—particularly that of her father and stepmother—changes drastically. On one hand, her father searches for her desperately; on the other, the world begins to suspect he might be involved in her disappearance. As the case deepens, it becomes clear that there’s more to the truth. A girl trapped in the dark web, fighting for her life and the twisted amusement of her captors—can she survive? Can she escape?

It was an intriguing read that pulled me in right from the start. This psychological thriller was a genuine and commendable effort. While it was sometimes difficult to predict where the story was headed, I was captivated by how much was revealed with each chapter. I tried to piece together the plot through guesswork, but the author skillfully introduced new twists and turns, escalating the story’s intensity. The characters were well-developed and maintained strong connections throughout the book. I also appreciated the author’s decision to explore the dark web, a subject rarely tackled by Indian authors, which added a unique element to the story.

However, my biggest issue with the book was the occasional disconnect I felt in certain sections. The writing could have been more polished, with a bit more attention to detail, to make the story feel more cohesive and complete. While the plot kept me engaged, the writing style occasionally pulled me out of the experience.

🕸 "Caught in a Web" authored by Sandeep Sharma, is an opus which is simultaneously terrifying and thrilling, guides its audiences onto the murky recesses of a sinister's net. The narrative centers on protagonist Ahana, who unintentionally gains notoriety being the host for a nefarious reality program which airs on the subversive net. Forced from her daily routine and transported to a place wherein surviving is her sole hope, she is forced to deal with a maze of bizarre obstacles, every one more perplexing compared to the previous. She is forced to push her determination towards the breaking point as the odds rise, and the result is an unbelievable conclusion which will leave the audience gasping.
.
🕸 Ahana, the protagonist of the story, is kidnapped and coerced onto appearing in a terrifying reality series that is streamed on the Dark Web. Randhir, her father, sets off on a ceaseless search for her, navigating a treacherous labyrinth of lies as well as danger in tandem his path. Although it might occasionally be perplexing the tale's alternate temporal format provides comprehensiveness and intricacy. Each of the characters are well-developed, and Ahana's struggle and development are especially interesting. The work raises important issues on the adverse aspects of this technological age by examining unsettling topics pertaining to gadgets, confidentiality, and humanity.
.
🕸 Even if "Caught in a Web" includes a few recognizable aspects, author's skill at keeping the tension high and telling a short, compelling tale renders it a memorable devour. For lovers of suspenseful fiction, wanting to experience conceptual and psychological stimulation, it's a must-read.

The novel's protagonist, Ahana, goes missing, and her father becomes the suspect who loves her the most. It's a compelling thriller about the dark web's reality show where the abducted young girl is treated in a cruel way for her survival, which is enjoyed by the views of the dark web.

I really loved the way in which the author has portrayed the father-daughter relationship. A father's love can do anything to make his daughter's life better. Randhir is the kind of parent that every child needs.

In this psychological thriller, the author has made an attempt to explain multiple personality disorder—a mental illness—and succeeded in making the readers distinguish between the characters. Ahana's mental illness will undoubtedly make us feel pity for her. Everyone will have the characters of "Jasmeen" inside us. But how we take control of that mentally matters a lot.

The major positive of the book is that it has short chapters. So that one could complete this book really quick, and it's beginner-friendly because of the usage of simple language. The author has attempted to explain the worrying effects of AI in modern society, which has been alarming in recent times.

In the initial few chapters, I struggled to understand since it has multiple POV's. But once it is set, you'll start to travel along with the story, and you'll get to know the motto of every character precisely. There are repetitions of a few scenes that could have been avoided, and one could identify a few loopholes in the story. But we may fail to consider thinking about these things while reading since it's a fast-paced, hooked mystery thriller.

If you are a psychological mystery thriller lover and you wish to read a book in a very easily understandable language, this book is for you.

Ahana goes missing and the suspect goes to her father Randhir who is assumed to be responsible for her disappearance, but he on the other hand is the one devising plans and preparing himself to do anything to get her back.
Ahana is trapped in a room and is kept under constant surveillance, being a captive she also forgot how freedom looks like. She became a part of a cruel, merciless reality show where the value of life meant nothing and kept against her all the while being watched on the Dark Web where survival is a brutal game. The question lies will Ahana survive, will her father be able to get her back?

Caught in a Web is a gripping psychological thriller with blends of twists and turns that takes the reader into the world of twisted games and horrifying realities, reminds me very much of Squid games.

I was intrigued from the beginning. The plotline was engaging and the characters which is also nicely plotted, the starting was very intriguing that picks up readers interest, comparing to that I would say the end was kinda underwhelming mainly because I predicated it way before maybe side-effects of reading too much thrillers. A fast paced narrative with a perfect blend of twists and turns that keeps the readers hooked till the end and the aura of suspicions, mystery being well blended in the air as the story progresses. The language used was easy and can be easily comprehensible even by beginners. Overall this book like a roller coaster ride would recommend to readers who love reading psychological thrillers also to the fans of .Gillian Flynn, Alex Michaelides.

What is the dark web? How Ahana caught in a web? Who did this to Ahana? Is this enemy of Randhir?

For knowing all these answers , you need to grab this book asap.

In the preview of the novel titled ‘Caught in a Web,’ Sandeep Sharma pulls his readers into a vortex as soon as Ahana, his daughter is abducted and Randhir, her father is accused of her kidnap but he refuses to rest till he finds his daughter. Ahana, on the other hand, wakes up locked in a room where she is constantly watched becoming a part of a show on the Dark Web where only survival matters as well as all her actions are monitored.

Sharma very skillfully contributes the elements of psychological suspense to the story and touches upon the theme of evil and primordial instincts of people. Ahana’s fight to remain sane and herself with and against the psychological torture and manipulation is portrayed strongly. Filled with conflicts, the plot twists, and the elements of surprise that change the characters’ fates and the main story at the climax, the story presents a gripping suspense that does not let readers doubt the difficulties and ambiguities of distinguishing between the guilty and the innocent.

A specific feature of the performance is the written language that gives a reader an oppressive feeling of Ahana’s isolation and the threatening audience. The track ‘‘Caught in a Web’’ is an introspective trip into the unknown ghastly side of people and explores issues of despair, self-sacrifice and the question of who is the villain and who is the victim? Strictly, Speaking for the strongest fans of psychological thrillers, the novel will masterfully plunge them into the field of an incredible psychological thriller.

Caught in a Web describes a risky pattern, and to the absence of Ahana it begins a psychological thriller. It was the police’s attention shifts to her father especially Randhir; however, the audience gets one of the series’ bigger shocks; he is eager to get Ahana back, locked in a room which has a camera that is always pointing at her, Ahana is made to live in the capturing of the torturing scenes that are marketed in the Dark Web in a game of life and death.

What makes a villain, actually it is rather difficult to solve who is a victim and who is an oppressor. This means that the main struggle is not only that of Ahana and her abductors but of Ahana and herself against the past and the truths that are unwilling to let her go. With the intensification of the show’s violence, the values of such scorned themes as good and evil are confused as the primary intention of the drama – efficiency is required in this new world of lawlessness. I really liked the character of Parveen who's always there for Randhir and Ahana Despite the circumstances, she was working for Digvijay to fulfill the needs of her family.

Finally, the readers feel concerned with the expectation that any story of a psychological thriller possesses, and the novel is thrilled and possesses a philosophical viewpoint regarding the distinct spirit’s capacity to survive imagination. It’s a visit to the heart of despair and the very energy that continues to strive for some form of rebelliousness.

Caught in a web is an enthralling psychological thriller and the latest release from the best-selling author Mr. Sandeep Sharma. This story weaves into the landscape of intense emotional complexities, manipulations, deceits and unpredictable twists.

The story begins with the instant reveal that Ahana has missing and her father is accused of abducting her. While the truth is hidden amongst the layers of sharp, twisty lies and exploits, Randhir is going through because he couldn't find his beloved daughter even after leaving no stone unturned.

Right on the other hand, Ahana is scared, trapped and terrified as she is the prime source of entertainment on the Dark Web. Subjected to brutal occurrences and consequences, her only respite in this hell is Jasmeen. But everything is not as it seems.

Caught in a web is an aptly titled book because truth is in manacles while the characters play their hidden ulterior motives and intrude the reality. This thrilling outstanding novel balances anticipation and excitement as well as rapid progression of unexpected revelations. As expected, Sandeep sir's writing is immensely captivating and engaging. The commendable elements of surprises, perils and shocks were truly earth- shattering. The characters are well-written. Despite being a multiple POVs narration, you won't feel perplexed rather it has an engaging pace.

Definitely a must read for thriller readers.
