When was the last time you actually read through the Term's and Conditions?
A new planet. A new life. StellarV4's promises of security and belonging had been a beacon of hope. Samira's best shot at freedom.
The seven-foot plus alien overlords with crystal horns carting her and several other humans off as Surplus to be "claimed" was not in the advertisements.
Being taken by a Traxan Hunt meant you were never seen again. No one could say for certain if the grisly rumors were actually true.
Terror ought to have been her only reaction when the massive Haruk of the Plains Hunt showed interest in her. She should have tried to fight, to run. But she didn't want to. Not for the right reason's at least. When safety, purpose and a devoted lover were on offer could you honestly say you would turn it down?
Life on StellarV4 was not what had been garunteed. All she and the others could do now was adapt.
I found this book to be a mixture of confusing and entertaining. The pacing of the plot seemed off due to the shifting of perspectives, places, and what I’m assuming where time jumps without any indication of the shifts taking place. The dictionary/glossary in the beginning was slightly helpful but I wonder if the world building would have been smoother if clear descriptions had been written into the story when new animals and people came into the plot, rather than a huge list of animals and characters that were super important to the storyline. Also found the constant change in the titles given to the characters confusing (ie the main character Samira would be called various different names by the characters and the author).
I will say the best parts of this book were the long dialogues that furthered the world building, romance, and character development. Also the spice was indeed spicy!
I do appreciate this author for her work and I see what she was going for even if the execution was a little rocky. Definitely hope the next book will be easier for me.
I was 1/3 of the way through when I had to make the hard decision not to finish this book. The jump in perspective from character to character was extremely hard to follow. As well as going from first-person perspective to third-person perspective made it so I never knew what person the story was being told by. I kept having to back track and make sure I wasn't missing something. The plot was interesting and the story was fun. I couldn't follow the story with a constant shift in the perspective.
Loved the plot, world building, and premise but it got a little confusing. The referring to fmc as woman as she’s talking to other females or ‘the blonde one’ made a bit confusing and I had to go back for clarification of who was being referred to.
This one is a bummer and DNF for me at 80%. It’s rare I put down a book and even moreso when it’s monsters, but this felt confusing and a bit reminiscent of others I’ve read (just more disjointed). Gave it 2 stars for the premise
